Our go to neighborhood place for an easy and convenient meal. Updated my post with current menu prices. Everything has gone up, but still a good value in my opinion.

Covid-19 takeout review. Beef koobideh ($10.99): the beef was juicy, but could use a little more seasonings. Chicken koobideh ($10.99): better than the beef for sure. The koobideh was HUGE and juicy. The flavors were there, but a little more seasonings and a grilled chili pepper would make the meal much better. Most places even serve koobideh or kabab with sliced onions or salad. Friendly service, but kinda odd LOL 3.5 stars!! Kimia is kinda yummylicious!!

I decided to give it a try last Saturday and the rice was rotten. I drove 45 minutes to this place and noticed when I got home. I had to throw the rice away. I was so upset I wasn't sure who to complain to. Very disappointing. Definitely not going back.

Their portions are generous. This is not even a third of the eggplant stew that was actually in another container.

Consistently a must-go whenever I'm in Anaheim Hills. They have different types of rice and specials on each day. Today I branched out and got the eggplant. The portion size is more than enough to make up for anyone complaining about the price, which was totally reasonable. This picture shows only about 1/3 of the eggplant, the rest was still in another box. Karina hooked me up today. This picture shows only about 1/3 of the eggplant, the rest was still in another box and was enough for two to share. Another day, the gentleman who looked like the owner took great care serving up the Lamb shank, gave me the rice with red berries, always hooking me up with some roasted tomato, and tahdig (crispy rice). Can't imagine the negative reviews but this is a little food court inside a grocery store, not some fancy restaurant. They do a great job.

The food is very good and filling. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich thinking it wouldn't be enough food but it was. And every bite of the sandwich was so full of a diverse multitude of flavors. I love it because I feel like this type of food can be easy to mess up, but Zait and Zaatar gets it just right. I look forward to coming back. Also the man in the hat who took our order, perhaps the owner, was so welcoming and friendly to us. It may have been because I was with my friend who has been there before but I really appreciated that and I pay attention to those details whenever I go eat someplace.

I placed an online order for the baked fish plate around 12:45 PM and expected a bit of a wait since it was fish. After waiting about 25 minutes, I called and was told it would be another 10-15 minutes. The restaurant was busy, so I understood. However, after waiting longer and checking inside twice, my order still wasn't ready and there seemed to be confusion about its status. In total, I waited close to an hour for an order that was placed online in advance. What bothered me most was seeing customers who ordered in person receive their food before me. It felt like my online order had been overlooked. If online ordering is offered, those orders should be monitored and fulfilled properly, especially during busy times. The food itself was good, but the plate could have been put together better. The fries were placed directly on top of the fish, which made them soggy and took away from the presentation. It would make much more sense to serve the fries on the side. Overall, the food is still good, but the long wait, confusion with the online order, and lack of attention to presentation make me hesitant to rely on the online ordering system again.

This is not your standard one dimensional pasty hummus. Mutabbal is usually my favorite dip and Aleppo hits it right out of the park. Muhammara - wow, how have I not had this before? The smokiness, the walnuts, it was perfect dipping with the (very hot) pita. Dare I say this was my favorite of the three? For proteins, we had the 3 kebab combo (chicken, filet mignon, and kefta) - again, all grilled to perfection, succulent, juicy, and so flavorful. Slather garlic sauce over everything! Our other protein was the mansaf. The lamb was fall of the bone and tender. The almonds give a nice crunch to each bite and the yogurt sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Ask for the green drink, perfect for cooling down in a warm day. Servers are super attentive and always checking in. Come hungry!

The chicken was incredibly moist, and the rice was fluffy, buttery, and full of flavor. The baba ghanoush was rich and smoky, while the hummus was smooth and creamy. The service was wonderful; they constantly brought out warm, pillowy pita and kept checking on us without being intrusive. Unimportant, but if it matters to you: they don't serve alcohol. they do have this amazing yogurt drink you can have with food (Super good for digestion). However, at the end of your meal, you get this stunning, thick, dark coffee that is pure magic and works like a total defibrillator. LOL. Seriously, it's incredible. My former boss is from Syria and highly recommended this spot, but he never made the drive down--he really missed out. At this point, I'm counting the days until we return because everything is fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. Seriously - great. My former boss was from Syria and came highly recommended, but never made the drive down. At this point, I'm counting the days until we return here again, because everything is fresh, flavourful, and vibrant. Here's what we ordered: Sampler - Housemade hummus was spectacular, the baba ghanouj was so savory and a bit smokey, and the falafel was warm, wonderfully spiced and not dry at all. I also HAD to try the kibbeh, never had before - amazing, so delicate, light, not overfried or oily at all. The spices inside were so wonderful, especially when pairing with some of the dips. Mixed grill : The meat was exceptionally good, tender, perfectly grilled, and juicy. The rice was fluffy, buttery, and fragrant. Mixed seafood grill: Delectable. The fish was beautiful grilled and lightly spiced to allow the delicate fish to shine through. I am no expert at this type of cuisine, but I've eaten plenty of Middle Eastern and Armenian food, and you really can't go wrong with rice and grilled meats - it's in our blood! PS: I personally love a bit of sumac on my rice and meat, lovely, bright, sour note that is very pleasing with this food. Thank you for the wonderful service and amazing food. We loved it. I wish we had this exact place in South OC.
