The front desk team here is SPECTACULAR. I was here during the pandemic. So i can only give my review on the room. I don't think this room was really cleaned ever. There were bugs in the bathroom, kids toys laying around, furniture was written all over. Bathroom from the mid 90s. Maybe if I had more to judge on wouldn't be as bad. I have always loved the Kimpton hotels. They have always been nice, friendly and they allow pets (because they really do understand that they are part of the family)! The Brice Kimpton is a special place. It is downtown surrounded by cobblestone walkways and lush beautiful parks, and a block from the river. The lobby is beautiful, the courtyard is very inviting and comfortable. The rooms are clean and quaint. Yes there are just a few things that may not be perfect but everything else, most importantly the attitude of the staff, makes up for it twofold. Too many times we've stayed at places where the staff is surly or indifferent. The two at the desk, Rodney and Cory were exemplary in their customer service at checkin. The two young ladies at the wine happy hour were terrific. One of them was our server shrike we dined at their restaurant, Pacci. The manger checked in on us. It was a very comfortable stay. I am still thinking about the amazing bachelorette party I enjoyed last weekend at the Brice. Bottom line: 1) location is great. River is two blocks away and there are plenty of less touristy areas and parks within walking distance. 2) staff is amazing, professional, young, and accommodating. We especially appreciated Rodney, Aaron, and Kaia (spelling?). 3) pool was a must in Savannah's heat and we thoroughly enjoyed ourself with the comfy sun beds and cool pool that was never crowded. 4) the happy hour is a great bonus and in combination with the "secret garden" we had great cocktail hours catching up! 5) We had 7 girls in the adjoining suite room. Rooms were stylish, beds comfy, and loved the giant modern bath in the shower! One thing that would have made my stay just a bit better would be if the amazing coffee bar was open later and it should include cubes and cups to easily make an iced coffee since it's so dang hot in savannah. read more

My husband and I stayed at The Brice during a three night trip to Savannah a few weeks ago. We really liked this hotel. The outside is nothing special, kind of warehouse-y, but inside it's very modern and chic. Cool lobby sitting area with a neat winding bookshelf that separates the couches from the front desk. Free fruit-infused water. Even bikes available to take out for a spin. Location was excellent if you want to be close to the water. Hotel was a quick dash across the street and down the steps to River Street. If you want to be near the squares, you will have to walk a bit although all the square locations are less than a mile away and walking to them is a breeze. Valet parking is the norm as there is no actual parking lot. However, you can park along the street for free on the weekends - just pay attention to when the street sweepers will be by; signs are posted about the schedule. Rooms are nicely appointed. Not too large, but comfy. Beds were awesome. We had three great nights of sleeping! Staff was friendly, on-site restaurant was tasty. Outdoor courtyard to relax in. If you are coming to Savannah, definitely give this place a try. read more

Great boutique-ish hotel in a historic building near the river. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The lobby space, sitting area, and courtyards/pool were my favorite parts of the hotel. Our room was nice (we stayed in the King Suite), however maybe not worth the extra cost for the 'suite' portion. The room and common spaces were clean, however in an older building some things just feel dirtier than they are. Also the hallways are extremely humid which is not the most pleasant feeling. One of my favorite things was the daily happy hour of wine and spiked sweet tea in the lobby from 4-5. What a great way to get people to use the common spaces and make this hotel feel like a nice community. It was also very nice to have a pool, which was a very quiet and relaxing setting. The adjacent restaurant, Pacci, had great servers and appetizers. Breakfast was nice since it was included in our rate, however might not be worth it otherwise. Also a great place to get to-go cocktails from! Also this hotel is pet-friendly, except they are not allowed in the pool courtyard. read more

My family and I stayed here recently. The pros: Location, probably the best location possible, not too far downtown to be overrun, closest exit point to the beach, and quaint neighborhood gives you a very calm, quiet, and peaceful stay. Parking is $12 by meter for the whole day, and I never had a problem finding a spot to park. Hotel restaurant. Great staff, bartenders and waiter are very helpful and nice to talk with. The always helped with anything you asked of them. Coffee in the morning is fresh and delivered early. The hotel generally made up for every mistake listed below in some way, but the fact that there were so many mistakes, it's difficult to feel satisfied. They have bikes, for free. That's nice. Would be nicer even to have one with a child seat, I'm sure there is a liability for that though...still nice to have bikes. The Cons: On booking, they double charged. But made up for it with a modest upgrade The cleaning service came very late, if at all. Generally after 3:30 pm, which was the same time we returned. The coffee tables were never cleaned,clean towels often not provided. I often had to go to the restaurant for fresh glasses because they never replaced them. The fridge was unplugged upon revival, and I didn't discover that until the 3rd day. I just assumed it wasn't working well, so keeping my daughters food cold or fresh wasn't an option. Room service, we ordered twice, and both times I had to go downstairs after an hour and a half to find out what happened, and was told they had no record of it from in room dining. I cancelled once, and they needed up sending something up 30 minutes later, without telling us, which we we already in bed. The chef is very nice though. The pool, at 9:30 am, still had drink glasses and cocktail napkins on all the tables and grass, and the pool cleaning team showed up at 10am, while 4-5 people were already in the pool. It gets very hot, so people like to get in the water while it's still cool water. They have a social hour, with free wine and southern cocktails, in their common area. It's a nice touch, however the cushions and overall cleanliness of the patio is lacking. Dogs. So many dogs. No offense to dogs, but we were supposedly on a no dog floor/room, yet the suite next to ours, had a dog that barked until midnight, because the owners had left for the evening. The front desk said they called the owners, who promised to return promptly. That was at 9pm, so 3+ hours of just barking and barking and barking. Why take your dog on vacation, just get a sitter, or board them. So the location and nice staff makes this a great place to stay. The other things just tainted the stay to the extent, that it's worth looking into another place on a second visit. read more

We loved this hotel experience! They were super dog friendly and the staff was wonderful!!! Mo was amazing and made us feel at home right away! The afternoon wine and morning coffee were both a treat. The location was perfect and we loved being able to walk to great restaurants. The ONLY issue was the odd layout of the bathroom in our room. Yikes! I really expected more out of a Kimpton. Our room smells like mildew and looks like it is in severe need of a deep clean. The customer service is lackluster- when I showed up in person and asked about early check in, they told me to try calling back repeatedly because they didn't want to call us when our room was ready. They didn't offer to take our bags or for us to park the car. The worst part was the condition of the room though (see photos). I'm really disappointed, and I'm actually very easy to please when it comes to hotels. A clean room would've sufficed. read more

Don't let the images fool you. Do not pass the front door for you will enter a holiday inn circa 1965- they literally updated the entrance and then left the rooms a total mess. We stayed here and were horrified ! We asked for wine glasses and were given paper cups. Staff was nice but the staff can't make a hotel look good. This place is a wolf hiding in sheep's clothing. They had cute events down in their lobby, and an adorable outdoor courtyard with ever-popular string lights that come on around dusk. The hotel room was clean and the beds comfy. I heard a knock on the door, as I turned the door handle, a room attendant barged in to replace an item WITHOUT WEARING A MASK, and yes, talking to me up close. Ahhhhh...Kimpton has done it again. Another winner and I was so excited to see a hotel in Savannah. Right in the Historic District and of course another top notch restaurant / bar attached. More on Pacci in another review. The arrive offers everything you would expect from a Kimpton Property - Uber friendly staff who know their craft and truly take care of their guests and hip and clean with every detail taken care of. I was here for my birthday and of course they didn't miss that detail. The rooms and bathrooms are large and very comfortable. The Courtyard is absolutely spectacular and relaxed. The service - again everything you would expect from a Kimpton. Valet, check-In, housekeeping and on and on...they just always get it right. This is a place where you know people here love working here. This location will soon be a 5 in my book. They are still a bit new and still working on their setup - no dedicated gym yet, a bit of painting etc...they are well on their way and this is the place to stay in Savannah!! read more

The hotel goes above and beyond to make this a memorable stay with great personalities throughout; the wine hour at the beautifully decorated living room lobby is fun and a great way to start the evening before going off to dinner. True feeling of an independent boutique hotel. I typically have a preference for Airbnb over most hotels when traveling but this property really made me reconsider future trips. I will, with out any doubt stay here each and every time I come up to Savannah. Location wise the hotel is on the further side of the historic district, which encourages you to walk around the streets freely and explore beautiful Savannah. I'm giving 3 stars only due to the pet friendly atmosphere. We stayed with our two cats in a king suite which had plenty of room for them to roam and play. However, the room was absolutely filthy. The floor was so dirty that 2 minutes after removing my shoes my socks were black. I'm not exaggerating on the filth. Sooooo GROSS! When you stepped out of the shower with wet feet you left tracks on the floor. My cats paws also were black from the floor. We would have checked out, but it's difficult to find a hotel that will take two cats, so we were a bit stuck. Our room had a nice view, but the windows were so dirty it was difficult to enjoy. The sheets were stained and torn....I would not expect that even from a Motel 6. This was our first stay at a Kimpton and we were not impressed. The Valet staff was very helpful and friendly, but the rest of the staff was just doing their job, nothing more. The hotel was under construction during our stay which did not really bother us as the property could use a refresh. The courtyard is really cute and again pet friendly. The hotel does provide a wine happy hour from 5-6 every evening which we did not participate in, but it's a nice touch. read more

Hotel is nice. Front desk super friendly. Africa, the concierge very helpful. Bar staff is totally rude, errogant, unhelpful and has an attitude. 3 different people, all the same. Not at all friendly and welcoming. Does not listen or pay attention to your order. Could not believe how snotty the blonde trainer was on so many levels. Even our server said she has had problems with this person. Totally made us not want to eat or drink at the place. 4 pm happy hour reception had whiskey sours two nights. 1st night it was so sweet it was almost unbearable. 2nd night it was so tart it WAS undrinkable. Kind woman pouring the drinks even acknowledged that the person who made them said they were very tart. SO FIX IT. People on the patio could not even drink them. Really ruins the experience. I'm a SPIRE ELITE IHG member abd would never consider coming back to this property. Loved Savannah though. read more

I have no idea how this place has any decent reviews. From the moment we walked in it was disappointment after disappointment, and we do not have high standards by any means. The staff was rude and did not provide service with energy/empathy. One staff member even hung up the phone on us without saying goodbye when we had a question. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told we would get a call and never did. Really tight ship you're running here "Alyson"! I would suggest you get out of the hospitality business if you think you are running this place at a high level. read more

This property is just ok. This is a very old property with an eye toward new decor. But, it lacks the necessary updates to live up to the promise of the property photos on booking sites. The customer service is very good, but the cleaning needs significant work. We requested additional cleaning, and it still wasn't sufficient. We will not stay here again, and I would not recommend this property. read more

Nice hotel but read your bill. All hotel amenities are nice and in traditional Kimpton flair. Hotel is situated in a nice area across from the river and near many squares to walk your dogs at. Maybe the hotel is running low on money cause they keep trying to get you when you are not looking. On checkout we noticed an extra 80 some dollar charge for parking. We did not use their parking. I guess they assume everyone uses their valet for their stay. I would think they would need some verification to even put this charge on the bill. For those people driving you can go down to the visitor center and get a 2 day parking pass for 12$ which will save you alot of money over your trip. Downtown has lots of public garages that you can park at with this. We mention the charge and they took it off. When we got home there was an extra 10$ charge that came in late on our credit card. While not alot , we would like to know what it was. I emailed kimpton and after a few days they got back and said they were forwarding our note to the hotel and they would be in touch. Month later, nothing. I emailed again and they said this time they would be in touch, another month and nothing. At this point I can only conclude it is their standard practice to make up charges and not tell you why. It is unfortunate as other Kimptons have had great service. This one appears to be a bit scamish. read more

It's not the super luxe that I imagine with a Kimpton. It's more of a laidback, relaxed, dog heaven. There's a sunny center courtyard with comfortable seating amd a "living room" that invites you to hang out and chat with you fellow travelers over a cocktail during happy hour. The robes are cozy, the bed soft and comfy. But the staff is amazing - from the cute boys at the front desk with their preppy clothes & southern accents to the maids who just adore the four legged guest, everyone made us feel like we were the most important guests in the hotel. We had a minor problem with the thermostat and a staff member was at the door in 3 minutes making it better. I only wish we had a longer stay! Thanks again, Kimpton! When we arrived, our room had already been checked into. I'm not sure how someone else was checked in under my name and was pretty worried by this. We were given two drink tickets for the bar to make up for this. The room was spacious and clean. No complaints. The hallways were very warm at different points in the day. The courtyard is beautiful and peaceful. We were able to find street parking behind the hotel all weekend, which was much cheaper than valet or a parking deck. The location is great, and we were able to walk most places. read more

This hotel unfortunately stole $700 dollars from my family. We had a reservation in March at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Despite being a non-refundable reservation, when we called more than 1 week prior to the reservation, we were told the reservation would be cancelled and we would receive a refund due to the extenuating circumstances of COVID. Two weeks later, called again, the hotel was closed and I left a message for the hotel, asking for a call back (the message stated call backs would occur by the following business day). No call back received. I then called the national IHG number and was assured our refund was pending and should be arriving 'soon.' Several weeks later i called the IHG group again-- this time I was told reservations are taking a long time to process, will occur within 8 weeks, check back then if no refund. In both of these calls we were told the cancellation was already processed. I called IHG back at the 8 week mark and was told 'you were a no show, you never cancelled.' Spoke to the manager, was told multiple times that there never was any record of a cancellation. Next, I called and spoke again to the Kimpton Brice hotel, told 'yes, I can see you called in March 12th, but there seems to be no record of cancellation, please call back tomorrow to speak to the manager.' Clearly, there was a mistake made by whomever we called to cancel with initially. So I called and spoke to the manager Joe (by the way, Kimpton Brice never called us back after my initial message). I was told there was no record of any cancellation or call, and we were processed as a no show. Nothing they can do. No offer to check with their employees who had worked 3/12 when we called to cancel, no offer to investigate, because in their eyes it is impossible that a clerical error was made on the part of the hotel. Will never stay here or another IHG hotel again, what an absolute lack of integrity and a very poor way to run a business. Despite all of the reassurance that 'things are in process' nearly every employee I spoke to was lying to delay things. read more

This hotel is filthy. The carpet in the room is covered in stains. There is dust on every surface. The sheets and blankets are poor quality. Don't plan to get any sleep here - dogs bark all night and when one starts the entire floor starts. The hotel suggests to be 4-star "luxe" - this is simply not true. Pictures made this place look very clean and modern. The outside of the building and lobby looked very nice and I was familiar with the Kimpton brand so I trusted this would be a quality hotel, but don't believe what you see in the photos. Rooms are kinda aged, smell a bit musty, bathroom has mildew and rust on chrome, beds are not super comfortable or well made, pillows are tiny, walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone around you, ect. If you get a very cheap rate and are just looking for a cheap hotel it's not terrible, but don't expect it to be like what you see in the photos. read more

Way over priced for the amenities. The evening staff was not helpful to provide assistance to the guests. There's no microwave in the rooms. The staff at the restaurant was so so. The food wasn't very tasty. The valet attendants were very friendly and helpful, but the cost of $40 per night seems high. read more

We stayed here about 3 weeks ago. We've been to a couple Kimpton hotels especially the Gray in Chicago. This hotel does not meet the Kimpton standard. It is in need of a renovation. Our room was very loud, the plumbing and elevator woke us up as soon as it was being used 5-6am in the morning. The customer service messed up our billing. The evening social was cheap wine and bread. The room had paint peeling and musty odor. Would not stay here again. Only plus was free Tesla charging thus the 1 star. read more

Hubby and I travel quite often with our golden retriever but we have never stayed in a place this amazing but from here on out, we will be. A friend, myself and our 2 golden retrievers were in town for a couple of days on a stopover on our way to Jupiter, FL for a golden retriever event and since my friend is an IHG Rewards Club Elite Member we stayed here. When we arrived at the property my friend went inside to check in and before she even came back out Rodney was beside me with a luggage cart, loading it and telling me all about Savannah as he did (he should be the town's official ambassador). After taking care of making sure our vehicle was valet parked in the adjacent parking garage, Rodney took us to our room, unpacked our bags and told us all about all the amenities the hotel offers (including a big bag of treats for the pups which they most definitely enjoyed) as well as things we should check out while in town. We stayed in a suite that overlooked the courtyard and it was absolutely amazing, it is so nice to have a sitting room when traveling with 2 large dogs. There was a fully stocked fridge as well as tray filled with a tray of mini-bar items available for purchase (totally overpriced but my friend did have a $10 credit) and the bathrooms are stocked with Atelier Bloem toiletries and there is even a laminated card letting you know that if you forgot anything they are prepared to provide whatever is needed during your stay. The beds were beyond comfortable and I loved the large vanity area with makeup mirror, certainly saved us a lot of time being able to use the area at the same time without getting in each other's way. The hotel has a great outside patio and also a pool and is centrally located, our car remained parked in the garage for our entire stay, we were able to walk to everything plus there is a small park just a block away where we could take our pups to use the potty. Each afternoon from 4-5 there is a complimentary cocktail area in the lobby where you can enjoy wine, snacks and my favorite, Spiked Tea, and your pets are welcome to hang out with you while you relax and partake in some adult beverages. We didn't have the time to use the complimentary bikes or the pool but trust and believe that when I return to Savannah with my husband I will make sure to stay a lot longer. The only thing that could be construed as a nuisance is the sound of cars driving down the cobblestone streets in the late evening hours but after figuring out what the sound was (initially I thought perhaps it was heat thunder but since my golden retriever never freaked out per his norm I quickly realized the cause was more innocent) I found it quaint and actually calming. I've always opted for the "cheaper" route when finding a place to stay when traveling but I have seen the light, from here on out I'm looking for a Kimpton Property whenever and wherever we go and hoping that each has their own "Rodney". read more

Here's the deal I don't like leaving reviews unless I feel there is hope of improvement. I've stayed at Kimpton hotels all over the country. They are usually great. Fun, boutique style, with yummy restaurants. I stayed here doing the pandemic and was fine with some outpoint given the circumstances. I stayed again yesterday on a trip up North and it didn't improve. Restaurant was super slow, dirty floor, dust on the vase on the table and overpriced for the service. The rooms were dirty, scuffed walls, windows inside ad outside were filthy. I cleaned them. For the price of around 255.00 not including 40.00 parking. It's not worth it. No comfortable chair to sit on in the room, dirty everywhere, floors in hallways needed major cleaning, even layers of dust on the lighting. I love Kimpton hotels this was not up to par. A Holiday Inn Express which is half the cost is cleaner. read more

My only negative comment is that the photo on Yelp doesn't do this place justice. Stay here. Great value and lovely people. They will help you make your stay in their city one to remember. Cute little hotel in downtown Savannah. Staff is really friendly and the location in excellent AND parking was easy to find. My room was clean and suitable, overlooking the courtyard. My stay was an overall pleasant experience. I missed the wine and hors d'oeuvres but no biggie. TIP: bring your own water or fill up at the complimentary carafes downstairs because they charge you for the bottles in the room. read more

Just spent 2 nights at this Kimpton. I had stayed at two other Kimptons in Nashville and Manchester, Vermont had had excellent experiences so I was completely caught off guard at this location. They are undergoing a major renovation of the lobby so just checking in was clumsy. Upon getting to our suite we opened the sleeper couch and the sheets were dirty with food crumbs so I had to request new linens. The noise level in our room made it difficult to sleep! When my husband checked out 2 gentlemen in front of him had the same complaint about noise!!! One refused to check in because his room was so noisy. We could hear women talking through the vent in our bathroom too. I believe they need to also upgrade the windows so that the construction and truck noise outside is not an issue. Also, there was no DO NOT DISTURB or PET INSIDE signs for the door!! Be sure to check to see if the renovations are still ongoing before you make a reservation. read more
