We decided to try KHA sushi land in Mequon! We both let the chef decided what we were gonna eat and ordered the chef special combo. This was a great plan! Look how pretty these plates were! While the exterior of the establishment might be unassuming, the interior is truly remarkable. It features characteristic Asian designs and styles, with both two-person and four-person tables available. The atmosphere is pleasant, and a restroom is provided. The food was excellent! Although there was a considerable wait for our meal, it was certainly worthwhile. Our appetizers also took some time to arrive, but they were fresh and hot, making the wait worthwhile. The samosas were delightful, and the crab rangoon was my personal favorite, perfectly filled and fried, with a well-balanced accompanying sauce. The beverages offered a unique taste, distinct from typical orange juice or mango juice, and were acceptable. I am uncertain about the Thai iced tea; my sister found it to be watered down and bland. Perhaps it was a different type of brewed tea than one might typically expect for Thai iced tea. Our appetizers and food were served by a robot, which was quite an interesting experience. We also had an actual server who took our orders and brought our drinks, but the robot was indeed a cool addition. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend trying their sushi when you visit. I particularly enjoyed the dragon BBQ eel rolls, which were so delicious that I promptly ordered another, the crispy tiger roll, which was equally delightful. read more

I have been meaning to try this place for a while and finally made it there today. It is in a strip mall in the Southwest corner of Mequon Road and Cedarburg Road. It is not real big as there are about 10 tables or so. Nothing overly fancy, but it is neat and tidy. The staff are all very friendly! I ordered an order of chicken egg roll, a rainbow California roll and a diamond salmon roll! The sweet chile sauce they serve with the egg roll is absolutely delicious! Nice combination of sweet with a little spice! The sushi is on par with other top sushi places in the Milwaukee area, so I was very impressed! This is not real close to where I live (SW Milwaukee), but it certainly was worth the trip!!! read more

I came here for late lunch or a very early dinner. There was a little confusion, if I was a carry out or dine in, and according to KHA the owner, on rainy days they usually get a lot of carry out and GrubHub orders. I ended up getting the dragon barbecue eel roll for dining in. It came shortly after and was very tasty, made with fresh ingredients. The decorations in the restaurant were reminding me of our family trips to Thailand and the surrounding areas. I tried to practice my Thai with Kha she understood me but she is from Myanmar a different country and language. Her husband and sister also work at this location. I have came here a couple times now and it is really good sushi for being in the Midwest. This time I got the 8 pieces of sashimi with 4 salmon and 4 tuna. The fish was super fresh and I got a good portion of meat for 13 dollars. I have also tried many of the other rolls here and they are always great, never fishy and always super fresh. Burmese family owns this place. While sushi is ok the Laksa noodle soup is AMAZING! Mildly spicy, sour, mildly sweet with coconut milk. Reminds me of times in Asia. First of all the service was excellent! They all went above and beyond! The server even brought something to the table for our youngest who doesn't typically eat sushi, to try. The rolls were a little higher price than what we're accustomed to in Arizona. but the quality was much better here! The salmon was truly fresh and delicious! I was very surprised to find this little place, it's actually an Burmese restaurant disguised as sushi restaurant they do service sushi, but there are many other authentic Burmese dishes if you are open to try it. Great little spot! I love this place. It's cute and practical at the same time. The napkin dispensers are awesome! But more than that the poke is top notch and the sushi burrito (seaweed wrap) is great apparently too. I look forward to coming and trying all of the things on the menu, which is a very ambitious menu. The sushi was good, the poke was good, I'm hoping the Ramen and Singapore noodles are just as good. read more

It always amazes me living in Wisconsin how many options we have around for decent sushi. I can easily say I've been to over a dozen sushi spots in the area and Kha Sushi Land is a Very Welcome addition. Location wise, you wouldn't know Kha Sushi Land was there unless you looked it up. At least, that was the case for me! They have proper signage and fun decals on the outside, unfortunately however it seems to be a product of the location. Don't let that pursuade you against going! When I entered the location I was greeted immediately. The decor was neat and the building was VERY clean. I was seated inside with my friend and was asked about drinks in a very prompt manner. I got the Thai iced tea and it was very tasty! Appetizers were the Crab Rangoon and Pork Gyoza. The Rangoon was basic, but who doesn't like a standard Rangoon? Gyoza was very stand out. Punching with flavor making me wish I had ordered more. For entree's, my friend and I ordered the same thing. The salmon and tuna special combo (photo attached). It came out quickly and was very fresh. For roughly 15 bucks it was a rather decent serving that filled me up! Honestly some of the best sushi I've had in this area. During my dinner, only a few other tables were being served. The traffic certainly seemed to be high for people coming in for carryout though. If the carry-out is anything like my dine-in experience I'm sure it's A+. All in all my only complaint was a small error on the check. I pointed it out and the server quickly corrected it no problem. Give this place a shot! Hopefully we can keep them around for many more years as a staple dine-in / carry out sushi joint. Very happy to give them their first review as a 5/5 read more

No idea how people are giving this place such great reviews. The quality/prep of the food is what I imagine sushi from a gas station would be like. We ordered the spicy tuna combo, a spicy salmon roll, and an order of fresh spring rolls. The sushi rice was overcooked, making for a really unpleasant gummy texture. The rolls were also sliced to all various widths. I was expecting a prepared spicy tuna/salmon, but it was just a regular tuna/salmon roll, just drenched in too much spicy mayo. If you're desperate and have no expectations, give them a try. Really hope they get better, there aren't many sushi options in the Mequon area. read more

We were at an area restaurant but staff informed us that their wifi was down so we'd have to pay cash. Not having much cash on us, we decided to find a different spot nearby. This was a blessing in disguise because we ended up finding this great Asian restaurant. The drink menu was decent: plenty of saki, standard wine list, Sapporo, Asahi (huge bonus!), and some domestic beer options. The dinner menu is huge. They have all of the staples like sushi, sashimi, ramen, fried rice, stir fry, as well as items I've never heard of like "pad krapow." I had to go with the crab rangoon to start. With my husband's shellfish allergy, I usually don't but I was in the mood. This was a great decision! I'm pretty sure the crab is imitation, but that's typical I think? This different shape of rangoon made for the best filling to shell ratio and every Asian restaurant needs to follow suit! I also thought there sweet and sour sauce was the best, it had a nice kick. The sushi roll options were good and my husband enjoyed his nigiri plate. The atmosphere was similar to a diner but they did a good job with the space. A foodie friend recommended me about this hidden gem in Mequon so I had to give it a try, since I am always down for the quality Asian food. This place not only has sushi, it offers a variety of Thai and Burmese food as well, including famous Burmese Tea Leaf Salad, Coconut Rice, Coconut Noodle Soup, etc. They also have a nice collection of Sake. I talked to the owner couple and found out that they lived in Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, everywhere in Asia before coming to America, so no wonder they can cook a wide range of delicacies. Cleanliness and modernized decorations are also esthetically pleasing. Cordial customer service and decent waiting time contributed to an overall great experience. Worst dining experience I have probably ever had. Over an hour waiting, literally one person at the register who was also the server. We ordered 3 appetizers, we only got 2, and one was wrong, they were not good either. Lots of unpleasant occurrences like having salt in a shaker labelled sugar, and tvs playing really unpleasant news about diseases and infections (not pleasant for eating) After an hour, we asked to leave early and got our food, and they didnt even give me my entree. If you cannot efficiently run a restaurant, don't be open. read more
