I had a craving for sushi last night, so I decided to give Ginzu a try. We got there early, so we had our pick of the tables. Once we sat down, I immediately started looking over the specialty rolls, hoping something would catch my eye. Nothing really jumped out at me, so I decided to keep it simple and went with the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Boston Roll. I also grabbed a green tea to drink. While we were there, I noticed they had a pretty steady carryout business. People were coming in and picking up their orders throughout our visit, which is always a good sign. When our food came out, I grabbed the chopsticks and dug right in. Both rolls were good, although I thought the Spicy Tuna could have used a little more flavor. Nothing a little wasabi couldn't fix, though--it definitely added the extra punch I was looking for. Overall, Ginzu satisfied my sushi craving. Nothing blew me away, but the food was good, and I'd definitely consider coming back the next time I'm in the mood for sushi. read more

Had a nice time here with some friends. My review as below stands for their ramen. We all agreed that ramen is not the dish to get here. Today, we splurged instead on the sushi party boat, tuna tartar, fried tofu, vegetable tempura, don katsu, and sashimi platter (for my keto self). I must say, tempura is what they do best here. All their fried foods were top notch. Super crispy with minimal batter, just the Japanese way. Sashimi was good; sushi was ok. With the number of entrees we had, apparently we only get 3 soups and salads. There were four of us. So there are some Japanese places that will usually just give you a soup/salad so no one feels left out when something like this happens, but they were very by the rules. We ordered another entree later during the meal, and they brought out the soup and salad for that entree. Server was friendly and on point. Atmosphere is nice and it wasn't very busy on a Friday lunch time. read more

Second and last time ordering takeout here. I got the Tonkatsu soup with udon noodles and a spicy salmon hand roll. The hand roll was so gross smelling because they packaged it with the hot soup I had to just throw it away. Soup was overall disappointing, but the broth was nice. Absolutely disgusting. I had to take back a noodles dish, because they didn't put any sauce in the dish. No sauce at all, and the lady argued with me that it has sauce. So while I was there, I asked for the fried rice to be remade. Fried rice that I had eaten out of, hence why I knew it had barely any sauce. They took the food, that I had eaten out off and just refried it. That is absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. I would avoid eating here if you value sanitary food prep. Solid sushi place. Came here with two others and got a Party Boat and we were all satisfied. Came with salad and miso soup for two which was odd and so one of us didn't get it. The boat itself was well done as you can see from the picture. Ambiance was not much -- pretty much what you'd expect from a suburban strip mall. Service was attentive. Definitely worth the trip. Price was $85 with tip which was reasonable as it fed all three of us just fine. read more

Went with a couple of friends to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, and had a great time. Our server Skye made the evening better with her smile, and patience. Drinks ordered were Chardonnay, Lakefront IPA, and a Diet Coke. Food ordered were, Ninja Roll Silent Scream Roll, Wauwatosa Roll, Electric Shock Roll, White Swan Roll, Caterpillar Roll, White Torch Roll and Eternal Love Roll. Everything was as delicious as it looks. One great thing about this place is even with the music playing you are able to have a great conversation with the people at your table without shouting. We ordered a few dishes from this restaurant via DoorDash recently because an acquaintance liked the Gyoza she had here. The two of us just selected two dishes with two appetizers largely based on ratings on DoorDash: Oyako Don (pan-cooked chicken with rice), Tonkatsu Ramen, Gyoza, and Seaweed Salad. The Oyako Don combines chicken with vegetables and rice, satisfying our main nutritional needs, and was quite tasty. The broth for the ramen was rich and flavorful, and the Tonkatsu pork seemed to be made with good-quality meat, although it did not have the crispy edges that one would often get at high-quality ramen shops. Gyoza was perhaps the best of the three meat dishes. The best thing turned out to be the seaweed salad, which had a balanced flavor profile - very tasty but neither too sweet nor too sour. read more

I'm always on the hunt to try a new sushi spot and I'm glad I happened upon Ginza! The sad part was that they were not busy at all. Pre-Covid I feel like this place would have been busier. And this area doesn't have a lot of sushi spots. Anyway, they seemed to follow all COVID protocols. The service was very friendly and prompt but not invasive. Prices were up there, but to be expected given COVID and, well let's face it, the fishing industry. Alas that did not stop me from indulging! I ordered the Fox Point roll and the miracle roll; both absolutely delicious. I ordered eel and salmon belly nigiri; both also very delicious. We've been dining at/ordering takeout from Ginza since they opened, and it's been consistently excellent. Food is always super fresh and flavorful. The Yuzu Salmon and Shrimp Shumai appetizers are a must, and the ramen is fabulous. We also love the chicken teriyaki, which is a very generous portion. Of course, the sushi is excellent as well. Ginza is our go-to sushi restaurant. Great appetizers and sushi, kids love their entrees, and the service is always friendly and fast.

Solid Japanese good and friendly service. We were seated quickly toward the end of the evening, and greeted with pleasant and quick service. Everything was very clean, and there was a large seating area with several folks who looked like regulars dining on a weekday evening. We opted for a ramen dish, several sushi rolls, and teriyaki chicken. All were excellent. The fish and vegetable rolls were nicely prepared, and arrived quickly. The chicken teriyaki was a generous portion with lots of fresh veggies. The only thing I might not order again was the noodle dish, it was just ok, but fine for our younger child. who doesn't like things too crazy. Very nice place. My wife really wanted to try sushi we had never had before and found this little joint. Inside is nice, clean and neat and the environment if nice and cozy. If you want to be HARRASED FOR TIP, this is the place to go! Here's the story: My family came to visit from San Diego & we went to this place. Service was ok, not very courteous or attentive but ok. The waitress would take a while to come by our table and didn't really smile or anything. Didn't bring water or anything. Whatever, At the time it was not a big deal. My dad picked up the tab and invited us all... About a month later, my husband, my 6 month old baby and I flew back from San Diego. ( my brother in law passed away) we got here around 10:30 pm. By the time, we got to bayside it was about 11ish and we were hungry. We stopped at this place and they told us they were closed. When we were getting in our car, two of the waitresses came out and stood by our car complaining that we didn't leave tip last time we came. They were demanding tip and they wouldn't go back inside until we gave them money. Imagine this at almost midnight, my baby crying, all of us hungry and with very limited time to find open restaurants. I told them that we could look at it another time, it wasn't the first time we ate there but they kept insisting and wouldn't move from our car. In desperation to leave, my husband gave them the money. Please know my dad most likely forgot to leave tip, or maybe he did leave it in cash. Who knows. He is an older guy and as many of us, tends to forget things. This experience left me with a really bad taste in my mouth, I don't ever want to come back to this place. read more

Ginza has two locations, one in Tosa and one in Bayside. We frequent the Bayside location. Although we mostly get take out, we are always welcomed with a smile and polite conversation. However, if you choose to dine in, the Bayside location has a large space with lots of seating. There are only just a few sushi restaurants in northern Milwaukee County and Ozaukee County. However, Ginza makes constantly respectable sushi. The sushi always tastes fresh and they have dozen of different rolls and sushi options. Even though we left Bayside years ago, we still drive to Ginza for our sushi. read more

Great new restaurant and pretty decor. I really enjoyed the Japanese music they were playing while we ate. It was dead when we stopped in late on a Sunday. The iced green tea was delicious and super fresh! We ordered yakitori chicken for an app, and it was very tasty and beautifully presented. We also has salads and miso soup that came with our entrees. The salad was amazing! So fresh, with sweet and tangy ginger dressing. The miso soup was good, according to the BF, but personally, I hate the flavor of miso. We ordered tofu teriyaki and a beef dish where the beef was thinly sliced and rolled in scallions. Both dishes were delicious. The beef was fresh and tender. The tofu was silken, tempura fried and then covered with teriyaki sauce. What a delicious combination of flavors and textures. We passed on dessert but noticed they had fried ice cream and fried banana. Both sound amazing, and I really am looking forward to going back to try some sushi. Best sushi in the North Shore area. They recent added ramen to the menu and now the seafood ramen is a favorite for me. Fan The Flame roll is also a favorite but it's hard to go wrong with any of their specialty rolls. Mr. Foran always orders the sushi and sashimi platter, which is elaborately and uniquely designed and decorated every time. Service is friendly and fast.
