I was walking around and decided to check this place out as a Thai food enthusiast. The wait was a bit long as a person that was solo but it was for good reasoning. The restaurant was closing in an hour and a half and they made accommodations to get everyone in that were waiting. I waited almost an hour but man that food was worth it! I ordered a bowl of tom yum with a side of rice noodle (it also came with rice) and a plate of chicken pad see yew. Everything was so tasty and came quick. The vibes inside were immaculate and felt like I was on the streets of Thailand (back when I visited Thailand in 2016) and like a wild night life but also fancy. I enjoyed being placed in a cozy corner alone with nothing but me and a table full of food ready for me to devour and that I did. We took my daughter and her boyfriend here for dinner tonight. My husband and I were looking for vegan fare and they were not. I ordered sake. Note to sake connoisseurs, they only serve warm sake.. one brand. We learned in Kyoto that Sake is actually typically served cold and you have at least 3 options depending how it is processed... to choose from. We ordered the tofu bomb for an appetizer... served with a hot honey sauce and sticky rice. That was amazing-- spicy --I just had to drink water (I admit to being a wuss). Then richard had a mushroom clay pot dish. He said it was heavy due to all of the noodles... I had the Pan fried cube tofu stir fried with chili paste, green bean, king oyster mushroom, tofu and kaffir lime leaves. Served with jasmine rice. The flavor was good... a bit spicy..and the tofu was perfect. Since eating vegan, I now like lighter sauces... so this was a bit heavy for me. My star rating is solely based on food. Service and ambiance was great. Food: I tried 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, 1 dessert, and 1 Thai tea. The portions are good (at least on the noodle dishes). Everything but the octopus carpaccio, 2 in 1 pork, and mango sticky rice was under flavored. The flavor was good, but it was under flavored. The dipping sauce for the grilled tongue and jowl was lacking and not at all what I was expecting for those dishes based on my experiences at other Thai restaurants. I wouldnt avoid it if a friend wanted to come here. But i would rather go to a restaurant I know is better or try a new restaurant than come back. Service was wonderful. As a Thai food connoisseur, this place is ranked really high in my book--and for a good reason! There is a waiting room/lobby where you wait that is decked with cozy street Thai decor. When you walk into the main restaurant, it opens to a large array of Thai nightlife decor, transporting you to the streets of Thailand. Our server was so kind and helped us have the best experience, especially since one of our friends has some allergies. She was so attentive and checked up on us to make sure he's alright! Has a eclectic decor with combination of neon lights and dark furniture. The place emphasizes street food and their menu has some items that I haven't seen in other Thai places in North America. For starters, we got their fried squid was good. The batter was buttery flakey, and the squid was not overcooked and not chewy. For mains, we got the fried chicken wings, which was 4 big whole chicken wings that comes with some sticky rice and papaya salad. Chicken wings were pretty good with nice crisp on the skin and decent flavor. The papaya salad was okay, and the sticky rice is on the dry side. The other main we got was the beef everything hotpot, and we aske for noodles. The soup base has an interesting combination of flavors different than any Chinese hotpot I've tried, but has the savory-ness from the beef parts and some sweetness as well. I'm glad I came with a larger group because we were able to try a lot of different dishes. Really solid Thai food! Some of the best in the area for sure. It is no surprise that Kin Len did meet expectations. Friends of mine have raved about Kin Len in the past and I am glad to know now that it does hit all those marks! Located in a busy part of Fremont, parking can be difficult so plan ahead to give yourself time to street park. They are also quite packed during dinner time so also plan accordingly. We did not have a reservation but we were on the earlier side of dinner so we did not have to wait for too much time. The restaurant has a quite relaxed feel but also is decorated very well! There are plenty of small and big tables for parties of all kind. We were a table of 5 so we took some time to decide what we wanted. The service was very friendly and they checked in plenty of times before we put in our orders. I got the crying tiger which did not come with sticky rice and instead came with crispy chips, fresh veggies, and tamarind sauce. The steak was cooked very well and was very tender and the fresh veggies were a great touch! I enjoyed the crispy chips but I would have preferred a side of sticky rice which I may order the next time I come. Amazing Thai restaurant! I loved the ambiance. Very lively and there's plenty of seating. However, this place is pretty popular so likely they'll be a waitlist to get a table. Also, you can only reserve a table once you're there in-person. There's plenty of decorations, good music, and cool lights. We had their grilled pork toro appetizer which was pretty good! I was in a party of 4 and we still had to wait about 45 minutes. They have a Yelp wait-list which is convenient; you can easily view and manage your place in line. This Thai spot in Fremont is popular for a reason! The vibes and the food are amazing, and they don't skimp on the portions. This is a great spot for a nice dinner or if you're celebrating something. I really enjoyed my meal here. They don't take reservations unless you have a party of 6 or more. For smaller parties, you have to add yourself to the waitlist on the tablet in the waiting area once you arrive. They will only seat you if your full party is there. It's nice they have a waiting area in the front with a good amount of seats. We got there at 5:30pm on a Thursday and waited for 5 to 10 minutes before we were seated. It wasn't that busy yet but as we were leaving, the waiting room was packed and people were even waiting outside. The Tom Yum was amazing, the best one I've had! The broth was so fragrant, flavorful and delicious. The boat noodles and the fried chicken curry were also great. The pad Thai was also solid but wish I tried something else on the menu since they had more interesting things. Kin Len Thai Night Bites is a culinary TREASURE in the Ballard/Fremont area. I came in with a few friends and we tried a wide assortment of dishes and every single one was delicious. Outside of the great food, the vibes here are immaculate. It's such a fun place to dine! Super colorful, super fun, and the service is great! For appetizers, we tried the Enoki Fritters, Octopus Carpaccio, and Caramelized Beef with Sticky Rice. The octopus was cooked perfectly and thinly sliced so it was a great texture - I was worried about it being too chewy but it wasn't. This dish is HOOTTT though, so be prepared! The beef with sticky rice was yum and the flavor was great. My favorite app by far was the enoki fritters though! The batter was so light and wasn't greasy at all. Super good. We all got our own entrees but shared bites of everything so that we could give it all a try. I got the Clay Pot Glass Noodles with Prawn and omgggg SO GOOD. The prawns were absolutely massive and cooked perfectly and the noodles were so delicious. I loved whatever sauce they were tossed in and the texture of glass noodles is a favorite of mine. The Wagyu Curry is probably one of the best Thai dishes I have ever had anywhere. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection and the curry was stellar. I 100% will be getting this the next time I come in. Next up that I tried was the Hot Pot Everything and if you know me, what I'm about to say next is shocking... The broth on the Hot Pot Everything might be better than pho broth which is my absolute favorite thing in the world so I was stunned at how much I enjoyed it. The depth of flavor was insaaaane and the meat was cooked so perfectly. This is another one that definitely is on the must order list for the next visit. Last, but certainly not least, we all shared the Mee Krob. Crispy rice noodles with a sweet and sour sauce, garlic, shallots, cashews, and fried tofu. I wasn't sure about the tofu but it was SOOO good! I've never had it cooked that way and it definitely added so much to the dish. It also comes with a side of steamed crab lumps and fried prawns which was deeelicious. I love crab so it was an exciting element to the dish. We had a couple of cocktails too that were tasty. They have a great selection of cocktails, wines, beers, etc. Kin Len is a quick favorite and I can't wait to come back. The only issue will be trying to figure out what to order! read more

Kin Len has the longest happy hour with the best timing in Fremont. Other restaurants nearby are limited to only weekdays or are shorter. Their happy hour menu also has plenty of items I would order. The space is huge, but extremely busy, so it took a while before we could order and add another drink order. Most of our utensils and plates were dirty, so I stuck to using the ones that came with each dish. The sun dried beef was better than expected and soft and tender just like the description said. I didn't need the sauce because there was enough flavor in the beef. Usually beef at other restaurants is too chewy, tough, and/or dry, but this was surprisingly good. The chicken red curry was creamy and otherwise pretty standard, but the amount of rice was generous. I also liked that they use winter melon because I don't know any other restaurants who do. I found that the crispy mussel omelette was way too greasy and lacked eggs for an omelette. There was also barely anything else on it. It was more like a block of crispy, oily fried bits that didn't remain intact enough when I cut into it. Fried pieces were flying everywhere with each cut or bite. The kinlen wings were too big and daunting to eat because they didn't break the drumsticks from the wings off. They're extremely difficult to eat, since they're not typical wings. It doesn't seem like they use that great of chicken either because there was barely any meat on the bones. I also didn't taste any Thai tea flavoring in the Thai tea-ni, but I definitely tasted the lemon/sourness. The sake holder is top heavy, so it spills out too fast. read more

There's all kinds of noodles it seems. Also various salads that have lots more than greens. It's about $12 for the Papaya Salad. Basically it's mostly made up of papaya that's shredded into noodles. This is topped with carrots, garlic, lime, long beans, peanuts, and tomatoes. Got to say it's certainly one of the healthiest places to eat. It's located on Fremont Avenue at 36th Street. We thought we wouldn't get the happy hour deal, but the server was super nice and still let us order the last round of happy hour items! For happy hour, we got the Sun-Dried Beef Jerky (which came with sticky rice), Thai Fried Squid with Roe, and Boat Noodles Everything (with so many different varieties of beef in one bowl of soup). The soup is very rich. For cocktails, we ordered a Lychee Martini and a Thai Tea-ni. The Thai Tea-ni was pretty sweet. The happy hour is pretty good deal. For our main plates, we ordered the Stir-Fry Chinese Eggplant and Tofu (which came with rice) and Kra Prao. They were on the saltier side, perfect to go with rice. On this particular Saturday, I went with a friend at around 5pm to beat whatever weekend dinner rush was gonna come up. It was quite empty when we arrived but filled up really fast within an hour, so getting here early is definitely a good idea. Regardless, there's plenty of seating inside and a bar to go along with it. Waitresses were very friendly and I could ask them comfortably about some of the dishes I wanted to try. In my case, I got the battered chicken with ginger rice as the main dish and the banana blossom fries as an appetizer. The chips had a really strong banana taste that I actually loved a lot, and the battered chicken was just right in both tenderness, saltiness and chewiness. The garlic rice and soup added in made the whole meal feel like something from home, which was great given how noisy the inside can be when a ton of people come in.
