Small means 4 tables in a small area so don't go there for conversation. Tea was barely lukewarm, when I asked for hot tea she nuked it and brought it back. Left most of the Chicken Udon as it was rather tasteless and a disappointment. Gyoza another disappointment. Dynamite roll tasted like California roll which I don't like, another disappointment. Spicy tuna roll had too much hot sauce on it so scraped some off, another disappointment. Read the reviews before going which were mostly great. Sadly we didn't find any of those great things written in the reviews and won't be going back. read more

This place was fantastic. The service was great and the woman serving me kept coming to chat, as I was the only one in the restaurant. It looked family owned and the food was phenomenal. It's tucked away in a complex and the outside doesn't necessarily look like it would house such amazing food, but I was proven wrong. I had shrimp tempura, sockeye salmon sashimi, and took king salmon sashimi to go. I preferred the king to sockeye, but I almost always prefer the buttery over fishy flavor and will usually choose king if that's my only dish. The fish was pretty incredible and the tempura was fairly standard, but good. I find it hard to taste huge differences when eating a lot sashimi from the same area, but this was of the best and at such a great price. For how much I paid, the good service, and top tier, freshest of fresh sashimi, I was thrilled I chose to stop here. This will be my go to sushi place in Vancouver from now on. read more

Kin Sushi is my go-to spot when I want sushi takeout. My younger brother's friend's parents own the joint and for me it never disappoints. One of my favourites is their Spicy Salmon Sashimi, although the portion could be a little larger, their spicy sauce is my absolute favourite! The salmon is also very fresh and tender. Not that into the cucumber pieces in the dish, but it isn't that big of a deal. I usually order the California Roll from here because they make it really nice. (PROTIP: ask for spicy salmon/tuna sauce on the side and use it to dip the california roll in. So good!) I also like their Spicy Salmon Roll (if you couldn't tell, I love spicy salmon ^_^) Just today I tried their Spicy Agedashi Tofu. I liked the flavour and it was cooked nice, however next time I would ask for the sauce for the tofu on the side because putting it on top of the fried tofu makes it soggy. Still tastes really good and i'm not the biggest fan of fried tofu but I like it. I've never really eaten in so I don't have much to say about the service, cashier is nice, sometimes it does take me awhile before I can place my order. A cute little restaurant. I went there on my way back from a snowboarding trip. It was wonderful. I ordered the rolls with "brown rice" and was pleasantly surprised to see rolls with colourful wild rice. I liked the avocado salmon roll. The sushi is inexpensive and delicious. read more

Okay this is like my 10+ review of sushi place. I don't exactly know how many i've reviewed but its a lot. 2017 - by now, the average Vancouver local/yelper/review-writer-person that's lived here, has tasted everything Vancouver has to offer in terms of sushi. Clearing that aside, lets begin. My girlfriend lives in West Van so she showed me all the usual restaurants. Moving on from that - this place is definitely the best. To be more specific: The Late Night Roll is one of the best specialty rolls i have eaten in all of Vancouver. Yeah its small but if that's an issue you can get take out. I've personally never had an issue dining in. The price is extremely fair compared to all the other places. As for the dining in experience its as expected. The benefit of the restaurant being small is the servers can easily see if you need more water or if your ready to order, if you need anything, etc. Overall, in the location, this is the best in West Vancouver. read more

We've been doing here for years. The food is great and very reasonably priced. The sashimi is always fresh and the owner and waiting staff are always efficient and welcoming. The specialty roll combo is a great deal with many choices of rolls and it comes with miso soup, salad, appetizer sashimi or tempura, and a special roll. We've tried almost all the special rolls on the menu and I can't remember any of them being bad. The only things to pick about this place is that they close really early (8:30) and the restaurant is quite small there's usually a wait. However, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious, fresh sushi with reasonable price. read more

Went there this afternoon with my 4year old son, who is a sushi monster. The restaurant is very clean, had transformers toys displayed and a very nice and cosy atmosphere. I was at first hesitant to go there due to the few bad reviews saying that the service is slow. Fast service could mean preprepared food, ie. Not fresh. This little restaurant is now under new ownership and it has definitely improved. The new decor is much nicer and the service is quick. There's a great roll combo for $12.95 that includes miso soup, green salad, an appetizer and one of their deluxe rolls. Highly recommend the sunrise roll which is topped with seared scallop. It's a quick stop on the way home. Really friendly staff, take out is fast. Food comes out hot. They don't "pre-make" their rolls like Bene does down the street so when you order a roll with tempura prawn inside, it's hot. Everything is really good. Awesome value. Authentic. Ordered bento boxes, not expensive. Came w 4 pieces of tempura, including 1 shrimp and 1 salmon. (Elsewhere you'd only get 2 veggie pieces!) Great miso soup flavour. There are a LOT of sushi spots in Vancouver, and the vast majority are really good. Kin shines amongst them! It's very affordable, high quality, great service, and a wonderful array of rolls. Inexpensive. Average food quality. Small space, can handle about 16 people. We have done takeout here a couple of times and it is very, very slow. Give yourself twice the time they quote you. If they say 1/2hr it may take up to almost 1hr before it is actually ready. Though service is cordial, I wouldn't say it is warm or friendly. read more
