Vietnamese jello cake (8 in)
Tiffany N.

Kindys cakes had amazing service and provided us with a beautiful Vietnamese jello cake (8 in) perfect for my niece's Red Egg Party. When I came for pick up, the cake was even prettier than the sample ones she showed me. Everyone at the party raved about how pretty it was and how good it tasted! Definitely recommend 10/10

I would recommend getting cakes from Kindy's Cakes. Ours was picture perfect and yummy. Her cakes are award winning and her hospitality is above average. Her shop ambiance is clean and welcoming.

#12 Thai Tea & #15 Passion Fruit Jasmine Green Tea

Tried the Thai Tea with boba and the #15 passion fruit jasmine green tea with lychee jelly--both were amazing! The Thai Tea was creamy and rich with perfectly chewy boba, and the jasmine tea was super refreshing with a great balance of sweetness. Everything tasted fresh and high quality--definitely coming back!

Do you remember when Vietnamese sandwiches/Banh Mi being a healthy sized fresh baguette stuffed with fillings and was actually worth buying? Yeah, I miss that too. Well, there's a small store with a very nice lady who is still doing this. I was craving some pate, pork, headcheese (yeah!), and the taste of childhood so I stopped into this Asian shopping center. I'm always up for a small quirky place cause you might just get that Asian-mom-cooking-in-the-backyard-when-there-is-a-full-functioning-kitchen-she-won't-use meal. This was it. The lady there (Tu?) was amazing. She made my sandwich, a strawberry mango smoothie for my sister, took instagram pictures, advised me on which desserts I should buy got my other sisters and, more important, for my mom, AND sold me a dessert I loved (more on this later). Total Asian aunt feeding you vibe. I killed the sandwich while browsing all the desserts available even though I avoid desserts as they are a waste of time and waste of space I need for beef and meats. Picked up some durian pastry, tested some stuff, a cake thing, and I was still less than halfway through my sandwich. Yeah. I was shocked too. Ok, so the dessert I bought and liked: some concoction of shredded pork and duck egg yolk was involved. The lady has a great sense of humor and was probably thinking she was gonna scare me off. Ha! I'm always game when it comes to food and this was a reason why: it was ****** good. Really good. If you're looking for a bang mi from the past, interesting and pretty desserts, and just food from a hard working person who cares about what she serves, just go here.

The #4 Mango Freeze with boba was so good! Super refreshing with a strong, natural mango flavor, and the boba was perfectly chewy. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and texture--definitely a must-try!

Wowowow finally got to try Izumi's drinks. Not sure if they need another 5 star review lol, this…read moreplace is heavily known by matcha lovers and SJ locals. What I had: - Lychee Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice) - Yuzu Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice). Double matcha was not overly strong or caffeinating to me (love that they do not charge extra for this option btw)- my caff tolerance I'd say is relatively high or above average for sure. Surprisingly, at that matcha level the taste is not overly bitter at all. And the regular sweet is perfect (I normally get 50% sweet at boba shops). Same with the ice level, I think their regular ice level is fine (I normally get less ice at boba shops). The Lychee matcha has great lychee taste, not artificial tasting, it's a great blend of both lychee + matcha. The Yuzu is leaning towards the 'lemonade' profile without being overly citrusy. More refreshing than the lychee matcha, but both are refreshing anyways due to the nature of their flavors! I think I prefer the lychee matcha normally, honestly hard to say which flavor is better! I thoroughly enjoyed both these drinks! Their flavors are blended well with the matcha- not overly sweet in flavor, and matcha is great quality while not overly powerful or bitter. Drinks are of course mixed well and composed nearly perfectly. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding. Worth going out of your way. (4 stars): Great! -- very good experience overall, minor flaws but nothing major. (3 stars): Good -- decent, acceptable, but there's room for clear improvement. (2 stars): Poor -- disappointing experience, multiple issues (food, service, or setting). (1 star): Terrible -- very bad experience, would not return or recommend.

Only thing u can customize is one or two matcha shots( got 1 bc it's later in the day) and ice level and oat milk ($1 extra). So $8.70 for my drink. It came out pretty quickly and looked good. First sip, felt like matcha wasnt as strong as i remember, but i also usually go to Cupertino location, but i also just got one shot so maybe they usually did 2? Not sure. The sweetness isnt high which i like and the strawberry sauce is good. Overall was just okay. I need to try the cupertino location to see if this is really how it is here now bc this is usually my go-to matcha chain!

The portion size was good to share between two people. The toast was yummy but does have a sweeter taste profile due to the honey drizzle on top. Overall a great experience! We got the red bean and the strawberry flavors - the portions were very large for a bay-area reasonable price of less than $15 item. It was my first visit and honestly, I was a bit disappointed; while there were lots of fresh fruits, I found the flavor bland and not sweet enough - which may be someone's jam? I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. There is plenty of seating inside for tables of two or even small groups. Parking can be difficult since many popular establishments are in the same strip mall so plan ahead for parking time.

The shop has a bright, clean interior with a casual atmosphere that makes it an easy place to stop for a refreshing dessert. Seeing stacks of fresh mangoes behind the counter immediately gave me confidence that the fruit would be one of the highlights of the experience. The mango desserts were easily the best part of my visit. I tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, which combined sweet mango, creamy coconut milk, chewy sago, and fresh pomelo for a refreshing balance of flavors and textures. I also enjoyed the Mango Chewy Ball, where the fresh mango and smooth mango juice paired perfectly with the soft, chewy rice balls. Both desserts felt light while still being satisfying, making them a great option on a warm day. I also had the chance to try a few of the other menu items. The mango mochi was fresh and soft, with ripe mango wrapped inside a delicate chewy layer. For something different, the spicy chili fish balls offered a savory contrast to the fruit desserts, adding a bit of heat and a springy texture that balanced out all of the sweetness. The ordering process was quick and straightforward, and my food arrived not long after I found a table. The dining area was clean and comfortable, and small touches like providing wet wipes made the experience feel a little more thoughtful. It is the kind of place where you can stop in for a quick dessert or stay a little longer while sharing a few different items with friends. Overall, Hui Lau Shan is a great spot for anyone looking for fresh, fruit-forward desserts with authentic Hong Kong flavors. The quality of the mangoes, the variety of textures, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a place I would happily return to whenever I was craving something refreshing.

The Black Sesame was inert but gave it texture. The banana latte was delicious! Creamy on top, mild coffee flavor, and the banana came through nicely. Big cup also! We'll definitely be back!
