The food was delicious the service was excellent from our bartender on Father's Day breakfast the ambiance was amazing especially at the bar area and I shall return to check out the rest of the menu

Stayed at the hotel attached to King & Rye and stopped in for a night cap. We sat at the bar and were served quickly. The lavender bees knees was delicious and the K&R old fashioned was good as well. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and were very happy with the dish. The tomatoes were crispy and the pimento cheese sauce to dip them in was amazing. I would definitely order these again. Service was fast and efficient and the bartender. made good recommendations.

Banana pudding...too much cream, not enough of everything else...tasted like it had been sitting.

This place is a nice restaurant connected to a hotel. Ambiance is nice and romantic perfect for mandate or a quite family dinner. Food was mediocre with service that ehhh ok. Why the food was mediocre? Ehhh my daughter myself and my mom all ordered the shrimp and grits..I'm use to a butter creamy thick consistency type of grits...these grits were over taken by the sauce that the shrimp was in..not wha t was expecting. The drink I wanted they were out of mint..so no mint julep for me...went with another drink that was ok. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area you may want to try & skip this place along with their hefty prices with A'okay food.

Very cute and classy place in Old Town. My party was sat very quickly and I immediately noticed how clean and beautiful everything is. This place is perfect for date night, girls night, or whenever you want to feel chic. The server answered all of our questions and checked on us often. I got the strip loin. The steak was cooked very well. The pea purée was left off of my plate. When I let the sever know, he bought some out in a small dish- like the metal dish thru bring condiments in. Honestly, the dish was better without the purée. I wish there was a full serving of veggies instead.

I decided to try this place because they were participating in Restaurant Week and had an appealing looking menu. I was not expecting much because I didn't know anyone who'd ever been or heard anything about the food, but I was blown away. This is a hotel restaurant, so it's a little small, but has a nice charm and date night vibe. The service was pretty good, but the food was the star of the show. The skillet cornbread was the best over ever had! The blackened loin was simple, but delicious, the shrimp and grits were different but very good. I wasn't too much a fan of the blackberry cobbler, because the pie crust was tough and chewy and I pulled it completely off in one piece. The berries and ice cream together were great though.

Simply delicious! I visited King & Rye during Restaurant Week and was not disappointed. The restaurant and atmosphere were clean and relaxing. The staff was pleasant too. The deviled eggs had a delightful hint of spice, the trout was perfect, the lima beans were equally as good and the crab rice was moist and very good as well. I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning!

The restaurant for the Alexandria Autograph Hotel is fairly basic. First the menu was a used, crumbled piece of paper. The hamburger was not seasoned. The brussel sprouts were growing in a sweet and sticky sauce. The Paloma has very little tequila and too much ginger beer. The service was nice and helpful.

Service was quick and friendly, but did not rush us. There was a restaurant week option. The table ordered squash soup, house salad, cheeseburger, steak, pimento cheese and biscuits. The espresso martini here is made with whiskey AND comes with a homemade marshmallow garnish. It was good food. The tater tots with the burger were cubes. Dessert is a must. Please enjoy my poor quality photos. The tables aren't stacked on one another so it is possible to hear everyone. It's a casual environment based on server and patron attire. Ambiance felt like a hotel restaurant which it is.

I wasn't feeling well due to a car ride. We are staying at this hotel and needed a dinner spot. I am SO grateful that King & Rye was attached and right downstairs. It was phenomenal. Redone was our server i asked for recommendations and he was so pleasant. We had the deviled eggs and the mussels. The deviled eggs were good but those mussels were amazing and out of this world. Then we opted for the sirloin and man...It was perfect. The seasoning was perfect and cooled at the perfect medium rare. I shared...i wish I hadn't I was so close to order just another steak. My husband got the pimento mac & cheese ,added crawfish. That was amazing. This restaurant, I highly recommend. Service was on point and ask for our server. He was so kind. Inside is comfy and inviting.

3.5/5 Visited during restaurant week on a weekday evening. Easy to make reservations via OpenTable and was quickly seated upon checking in. We were seated in the dining area near the kitchen and patio and the area was a little dark. Restaurant Week menu was $40 for appetizer/dessert and entree. I chose the deviled eggs for appetizer and pan seared trout for entree as well as Brussels sprouts. The food was very good with hefty portions. I really enjoyed the deviled eggs with the hint of spice as well as the candied Brussels sprouts. Food came out in a very timely manner on a busy evening. At the beginning of our dining experience our server was very helpful with recommendations however our server did not check on us much throughout the evening. Our food was brought by other team members as well as our bill. Great restaurant week deal for food portions and flavors. Nearby paid street parking $$

Attended the Pride Drag Brunch that was hosted here and had a great time. The food and drinks were great. We started with the create your own mimosa special, along with the cinnamon roll. I then ordered the breakfast biscuit and the espresso martini to finish. The service was great and the vibes were so positive. I would return for dinner service.

A really convenient brunch spot. This place is right in the middle of old town making it a nice stop on a weekend morning. Had a delicious cappuccino and egg white omelet. The star of the meal is the potatoes. They are super crispy and the seasoning is amazing.

Both times I visited, the bartenders can hardly mutter a greeting. Instead, they just stare blankly, asking 'what's up?' Ummm, whaa? Perhaps, they're not very social or shy (even though, the first time I came, the Asian bartender couldn't stop chatting up, heavily, the gal who came to sit next to me [after I had been there for about 20 minutes w/ no check-in from him] - to the point that I was practically ignored for 95% of my visit). Either way, it's rude and off-putting to the point where im deducting Hella stars. A bartender's attitude and energy towards a patron can make or break an experience, and they definitely need to work on theirs if they expect people to spend their money at their establishment. Anyway, on to the drinks... Paper plane - meh. Tastes like sour mix with some juice. No complexity. Not a horrible drink, surprisingly, but I've had better. Been here for about an hour now and not one of the 3 men behind the bar have checked on me once...but have offered the couple to my right a complimentary drink. Great views but mid cocktails, thus far, and disappointing service [sad face]

My mom is extraordinarily sensitive to anything remotely "spicy"--even black pepper can be a problem, and sometimes arugula! Our server David listened carefully to her concerns and made sure the chef knew exactly what she needed. The kitchen modified her dish accordingly, and she was able to enjoy a delicious meal without worrying about what might be in it. But the food was only part of what made the evening so enjoyable. David and Ceara were both fantastic--warm, attentive, and incredibly personable. They really listened to Mom and made an effort to engage with her. Mom eventually started telling jokes, including a few that were definitely on the bawdy side. David and Ceara were wonderful sports and laughed right along with her. They made her feel welcome rather than simply accommodated, and that distinction meant a lot to all of us. Clarity gave us delicious food and excellent service, but more importantly, they helped make my mother feel celebrated on her 91st birthday. A memorable evening and a restaurant I'm very happy to recommend.

We've been dining at Clarity in Vienna for years, and it was particularly a favorite for intimate,…read morespecial-occasion meals. Chef Jon Krinn's menus and his warm, personal touch with diners made the place special. After he left, Chef Tracy O'Grady admirably revived it with creative new menu concepts, and under Chef Danny Ahn the brand has now expanded to a Reston location. Through it all, bartender Victor has been a steady, caring presence -- even as service slowed and courses started taking a long time to arrive. After one visit where we waited 50 minutes for dessert, we stayed away for a while. We decided to come back to celebrate our anniversary. The new manager, Jeff Miller, and the rest of the staff greeted us warmly, but the dining room was nearly empty, and the air conditioning was set to meat-locker levels. Victor had the day off. Clarity is known for a daily-changing tasting menu, and we were looking forward to that night's advertised special -- giant tiger prawns, lobster and black truffle risotto, and venison. Instead, we were handed a menu with octopus, cod loin, and duck -- solid dishes, but standard fare you'll find at plenty of restaurants in the area, not the standout the website promised. We ordered from the regular menu instead. For appetizers, we each got the grilled Wellfleet and Old Salt oyster platter. For entrées, my spouse ordered the yellowfin tuna with tiger shrimp; I asked if I could get the Maryland soft-shell crabs as an entrée with two crabs instead of one. The waiter said no and suggested I add a sweet corn bisque to round out the meal. When he mentioned to the manager that we were unhappy, Jeff offered to plate two crab appetizers together for double the appetizer price. I happily agreed. The manager explained that website updates were no longer handled in-house, that the tasting menu posted online hadn't actually been available for months, that other guests had complained about the same thing, and that the takeout/pickup menu was also wrong -- to the point that he' had just contacted customers to tell them their online orders couldn't be fulfilled. Service was slow, and the waiter never told us which oysters were Wellfleet and which were Old Salt. To kitchen's credit, the portions were generous, properly cooked, and genuinely tasty. The dessert menu seemed uninspired, so I asked about a double shot of Angel's Envy rye instead. It had always been reasonably priced when Victor poured it -- generously, too. This time, I overheard the manager quote the waiter $56. A 750ml bottle (25 oz) currently retails at Virginia ABC for about $75, or $3/oz -- so $56 for a double shot works out to about $18.67 per ounce. I said that wasn't acceptable. At that point, the manager repeated, for the fourth time, that he was still on the phone trying to get the website fixed. I told him his reiterated efforts might help future diners, but it didn't help us that evening. He said Victor had trained him and that he was charging what Victor would charge -- I told him I didn't believe that, since Victor had always been fair and accommodating. I also said that as the manager overseeing service, he should be checking the website' daily for accuracy himself. He then offered to pay for my "cocktail" out of his own pocket. Before I could point out that a shot of whiskey isn't a cocktail, my spouse asked him to just leave us alone. We paid and left feeling genuinely sad to see a restaurant we loved fall this far.

One thing I really liked was that the menu is chef-curated, so the dishes are served as-is and thoughtfully put together. You can really tell there's intention behind the flavors and presentation. For drinks, we ordered a smoked Old Fashioned and a chocolate martini for me, which was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we tried the Wagyu sliders, and they were juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. For our entrées, my boyfriend ordered the lamb shank over mashed potatoes.
