    Standard plate, but tasty
    Dan W.

I could say nothing too original, as it is a Chinese buffet, but it is comparable to all of the good ones back home in Sacramento. I had skipped breakfast to make it to an event (I am proud, so I am going to mention me being in the Transplant Games as many times as I am able), so I needed a buffet amount of food. Of the couple of Chinese buffets in Birmingham, this one had good reviews, so away we went. The broccoli in the broccoli chicken were still crispy, but NOT undercooked, so that's a good checkmark there. The rest of my plate was the salmon, general chicken, steamed rice, etc that I typically will get at any run of the mill Chinese buffet. I hate to keep repeating myself, but I will sum up the food here: Nothing too original, but it was good quality and cooked correctly. My mom enjoyed the salad bar, and said she was surprised at the quality. Our drinks were always refilled, and the staff seemed friendly. The price was "cheaper" then what I am used to (in Sacramento, California, we would have most likely paid about $10 more for the same meal) All in all, a good example of a standard Chinese buffet

This is a busy Chinese buffet first off. There are 6 hot bars, a sushi bar, dessert and fruit bar. This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants with a buffet. They have delicious Chinese food and seafood. My family really likes this place. It deserves more than 3.5 stars.

I'm still loving this buffet. Great food and friendly staff. I try to go at least once a week.

My dad frequents this location all the time. He brought us home one of their to go containers of their lunch buffet. I love buffets where you can buy a container from them and fill it up. He got us chicken skewers, shrimp, mushrooms, salmon, and some sort of dessert. I really enjoyed the shrimp, chicken skewers, and the dessert the most!

This food was not good at all. Neither I nor my children liked it. Plus, it was very crowded and felt unsanitary. Unfortunately, we wasted a lot of food because most of it wasn't edible. It was a waste of food and money. The restrooms were disgusting. I gave 2 stars because the employees were working hard. Other than that, it was not a very good experience. I won't be back. Ever. I'm very surprised at the good reviews. Maybe I should have tried the made to order hibachi grill. It was so crowded I didn't see that until we were leaving. I will add the sushi, crab bake and crab salad were okay. That's what I mostly ate. I didn't get pictures of everything. I still don't think I will be back.

Prior to going to a Chinese buffet, I compared reviews and I was trying to pick between Chowtown and King Buffet. The public reviews for both are a mixed bag so I was curious/slightly worried about how it would be. In short, I would recommend King Buffet! We went a little after open, so I cannot speak for if you attend during a big rush or near close. We went around 11:30am on a Saturday and it was not THAT busy. We did not have to wait at all. But they definitely had a bunch of customers there! They had timely service, very nice staff. For the food, the mixed bag of reviews worried me but I was pleased. I liked the bourbon chicken, the lo mein, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and the crab cakes. The sushi was okay, I did pick up some of the last California rolls on the plate so I think it'd have been better if I waited until they refilled it. The gyoza/dumplings were good but the edges were a bit dried out by the buffet lights I think. Dessert selection was also enjoyable, they even have little ice cream cups (I got rainbow sherbet!) that you can enjoy if you are dining in. Just can't take them to-go Pictures attached of mine and my party's plates. What I WOULDN'T get again: the "imitation eel" ( i think??) sushi and the crab rangoons. The rangoons were a little heavy on the cream cheese and not so much crab. The shrimp rolls (?) were also not to my taste but they could be to yours! Very clean, no noticeable issues with anything. I would go again! My next buffet visit will be to Chowtown to compare and contrast.

This is about my favorite Chinese buffet in town just because there are many food choices ranging from sushi, Chinese and American food. The place is always clean and the food definitely be hot and delicious. I would recommend not eating anything before coming here so you can have plenty of room in your stomach for the food here lol.

DO NOT EAT HERE! This place has no business serving people food. From the mold on the ceiling to the dirty side walls where people sit and are meant to enjoy food. The food was also not the greatest. I had a salad (which was the head of a lettuce torn apart.) 2nd plate was chicken and rice. Couldn't even finish that! The staff are very rude as well. PLEASE DO NIT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE. I was concerned with my own safety and got out quick.

Why the difference in buffet price from lunch to dinner? What food is added?

I think they add crab legs. But I'm not 100% sure.

What is the price of the buffet?

Lunch $8.00, Dinner $12.00, last time we visited anyhow...

The dark sauce was perhaps balsamaic based; it hid the delicate taste of the scallops. One was a bit underdone. The snap peas were soggy and very stringly. Our second dish was shrimp with fried rice. We both wish that the seafood had not been so masked by other things. Good fresh fish done simply would have been our preference. Our waiter, Rick, was pleasant and helpful. My only complaint was they were really big. My personal preference is smaller yet meaty wings. We got the 1/2 lbs shrimp bag with excess sausage and mild house sauce. The bag before the extra was only about $10. It comes with the corn, sausage and potato. That price is crazy good! The shrimp were a great size and the ingredients seemed fresh. The sauce was a very bland to me (in comparison to similar restaurants). The servers were really sweet. Checking on us often but not overdoing it. All in all, I would return again! Next time I'd probably get medium sauce and extra garlic. Yum!

We ordered drinks and she returned 2 mins later to take our food order. We ordered appetizers, salad and main courses. The drinks came quickly, the salads came right after and then about 3 mins later, the appetizers came out. 3 mins after that, the main courses arrived so we had plates stacked everywhere on the table and quickly tried to finish our salads and appetizers before the main dish got cold. The waitress never returned to the table until she brought the bill. The plates were all cleared by someone else. We saw her leave a bill at the table next to us and wait until they checked it over and figured out a payment method, so when she arrived at our table we just handed her a credit card. The food was average but the overall experience was terrible. I realize she was probably new and this may have been her first night but some training would go a long way!
