Build your own combo...black mussels, lobster tail, crab legs, sausage, corn, potatoes and hard boil eggs
    Michele M.

I hate to see such low ratings, I find their food to be really good! My dad and I love a good sea food boil, while no one else in the family does, so whenever him and I can grab one we do. We ordered from door dash yesterday. I pre ordered the day before for a set time next day, the food not only came at the requested time BUT it came very hot too and I am about 8 miles from the store. So that alone was impressive. We packed our boil with black mussels, which I have to say some of the best mussells I've had. Then some crab legs, lobster tails, sausages, corn, hard boil eggs and potatoes. Went with the lemon pepper medium seasoning and was just delicious. Also ordered some fried calamari and hush puppies. I really don't have anything bad to say the lobster and crab legs were cooked to perfection, and sweet and juicy. I consider this a take out spot, so for take out seafood, they do it well if you ask me!!

Took about 20 mins for the order to come out. Now I did pick out some things from what I ordered because it is super messy but flavorful. But I only had 1 crab leg, I guess that equate to my 1/2 lb of crab. Other than that, the food was flavorful, and I would go again.

Maybe you'll have better luck, but I'm not going back to King Crab because of the quality of seafood. I can only envy the people who had a great culinary experience at this place. Our seafood boil came with medium house special sauce which I fell in love with last time. Unfortunately, this time it was less buttery and much spicier compared to the previous time. Eating and sweating because of the heat is not exactly my thing. We ordered two pounds of shellfish and sausage, but what we got didn't feel and look like that's the case. About the food. The green mussels were tasteless. It reminded me of the oysters we were served during my first visit. The shrimps with head attached were overall not horrible, but their texture was mushy and unappetizing. It was just not fresh seafood. The sausage was definitely cut like for jambalaya, too thin. Corn is in season right now and they really could have done better. In general, the boil wasn't enjoyable like it was supposed to be, that's all. I have to admit, King Crab knows how to fry food. The oil tasted clean and nothing was too oily every time I tried it. The hush puppies were perfectly done and were served with a yummy creamy dip. The catfish was also very tasty, sweet and mild covered with crispy breading. The fries were on the good side, too. The restaurant was empty again with just one table occupied. It's not a good sign. Seafood gets bad pretty fast. I don't want to be the one who pays and risks my well being because of someone's bad management and planning.

Back again for my annual college pick up and in the mood for seafood. This is our go to place when we are here. Family seafood boil with lobster tails, crab legs, green muscles, black muscles, clams, and ordered half dozen oysters

First time at this place. It has a decidedly Asian format. Cheesy tartar sauce for the fried clams. Nicely prepared. Asian style duck sauce for the fried calamari. Nicely seasoned. The menu is difficult to figure out. They have a broad selection of offerings, including any number of combination meals, various types of crabs and mussels to choose from. Their combo boils are served in a bag. They have many "seasonings" offerings, and I chose seasoned garlic butter and lemon pepper. They also give a choice of hotness and I chose medium. The speed of service was excellent. They serve their food alongside an empty metal bucket for shells and such, and a nice heavy duty crab cracker. They also serve it with gloves and a bib which you will need. The food is good. And I will certainly come back a second time to check for consistency.

This place was great. For $40 we ate like kings! We got shrimp, crab, crawfish and the sides are corn and potato. Also we got the cajun fries and they were seasoned really well. Yum!

Food was great and the service was too! I got a combo with snow crab and sausage... I just got it in garlic butter, which was great but after tasting my sons mixture of all the seasonings I wished I had gotten that... so good! The only thing I can say is the tops of the booth partitions needed a wipe down... pretty dusty, but otherwise looked like a clean place

This nice little home like restaurant by my hotel surprise me with the best chicken wings I've ever had. They sure have uphold the reputation of Buffalo wings. even the crab salad tastes like heaven. The staff was professional, attentive, and pleasant. Having a restaurant like this by the airport is a God-sent for me. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

a receipt for a seafood restaurant

We stopped in today to finally use the gift card we received last Christmas. When we attempted to use it we were told that the card was only worth $10. We had the original receipt showing that it was purchased for $35, but the ownership did not care. They also could not show us any previous use of the card, claiming that the only transaction on the card was a $10 purchase of the card. What I think happened here is that the cashier at the time saw a $35 cash purchase of a gift card, then charged the purchaser $35, but only put $10 on the card, thereby pocketing $25. Unfortunately, I have no way to prove this. The receipt from the original purchase also shows a $3.50 charge to purchase a $35 card. What kind of place actually charges 10% to buy a gift card? They are basically thieves. The attached picture shows the original receipt (gift card #**88 and the gift card itself, #3588). As for the food, it is average at best. The so-called cajun fries have absolutely no seasoning on them and are very bland. My wife's shrimp and my crab cakes were average. No reason to ever return here.

The food was disappointing with very small portions and old. The bar is a complete joke.

Counter service and popularity requires a bit of a wait but that is necessary to decide what to order from the bountiful catch on offer. We started with raw oysters and clams casino. Freshly shucked oysters are a thing of beauty and Hayes did not disappoint. The Clams Casino are a house specialty which we highly recommend for the experience of a unique dish. We both ordered the broiled haddock and scallops for our entrees and could not have been happier. Perfectly seasoned and generous portions ensured a fabulous dinner. Hayes is a Buffalo standard for seafood for a reason - superb selection and masterfully crafted seafood makes for a great experience.

The absolute best lunch my mother-in-law and I have had in a VERY long time. This is by far the most incredible and freshest seafood in the area. We got there shortly after opening so it was not busy, but by noon, the line was out the door. Very clean restaurant. You can tell they pay attention to the place. Great decor, friendly staff. Plenty of seating room. The menu was a bit overwhelming. I ended up getting the blackened haddock platter (with red potatoes and coleslaw) and mom got the lake perch with the same sides. We both were in love at our first bite. The haddock was perfectly seasoned and I had no doubts it was cooked well. Lately I feel some places I have been served fish that isn't done. No doubts here. Coleslaw was saucy and flavorful. Potatoes were delicious and the meal also came with a roll. The perch meal was exactly what my mother in law was hoping for. She hadn't had it in a while and it was a heaping portion. She said it "barely" had much taste, which was a plus for her. The batter was clean, and you can tell fresh oil was in the fryer. While the prices are a little high for a normal lunch, they were worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

Prices cannot be beat during the happy hour for these seafood delicacies which are costly otherwise. I was out at Perla on a Wednesday recently to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday with a group of friends. We had a great time and our server was such a sweet guy. The Woodfire pizzas are very good if you're not into seafood. Those you have to order from the regular menu. The menu is too limited for the happy hour. I knocked off one star because of this. There's usually a live band during this time, but we did not have one on the Wednesday that we attended unfortunately. I would definitely come back for the oysters!

While reviewing the happy hours specials I noticed "bottled and draft beers: $5.95". Not the greatest deal but went with it. I then proceeded to order 2 Corona Extras. We enjoy ourselves, finish our drinks, and now it's bill time. After reviewing the bill we notice that my Coronas were charged at $8.95 each. We bring this up to the bartender and are told "that's only for domestics"; not anywhere on the menu is this stated (don't worry I double checked). We ask if this is an error in our favor to which the magic happens. We must have said the magic words to this dirty blond bartender because that's when the tantrum happens. She then proceeds to reach into her tip jar and throw a single dollar bill and four quarters in front of us (technically still owed us $4). I've never seen such blatant disrespect and utter lack of candor or customer service. There's 100s of different ways to handle that situation if she disagreed with our thought on the bill and her reaction was literally the worst one.
