Absolutely WONDERFUL! I ordered several dozen donuts for an event and they were a huge hit. Not only are the donuts massive, but a great price and fantastic selection. Don't miss out on the red velvet! The classic glazed treats are light, fluffy, and just melt in your mouth. This is such a charming shop with an old school feel surrounded by other Manchester favorites (Cosmic Omelet, The Gathering, etc). The staff were a delight to deal with - they even helped me carry out the boxes to my car! I have only known about King donuts for a short time, basically since they offered a Groupon a couple of months ago. I have become a big fan of their maple bacon donut, wife loves the red velvet, and everything else I have tried has been very good. Today, in honor of National Donut Day, I decided to bring in a large box for my colleagues. The response of one of my colleagues brought me total joy. My friend and colleague tried the whole glazed donut, and with her first bite, a look came over her face that told me that she had found something special. She told me that a shop in Bridgeport had been a big part of her childhood. Her family would go there every Saturday, but it closed when the owner moved to Florida. The taste of this glazed donut took her right back to her childhood. She is eager to take her family to King Donut to share the experience with them. It really made my day too. I came for the donuts based on previous reviews and was a bit bummed. Donuts don't taste fresh and the glaze used on them is flaky, not smooth... Not sure what that is attributed to. I was craving donuts on National Donut Day last week, real donuts, not the things that pass for donuts at DD. I checked reviews on Yelp and they led me to this place of yummy doughnut-y goodness!! My family tried the old fashioned, glazed, blueberry cake, lemon filled, jelly filled, and coconut. My favorite was the glazed, but my kids raved about the filled donuts and my husband said the blueberry cake was the best he's ever eaten. This has become our favorite weekend breakfast spot since we moved to Manchester in May. We've lived locally almost our whole lives and have driven past this spot and kind of scoffed...how good can a place be with just a sign that says "coffee and donuts"? The answer is incredibly good. We LOVE donuts and my fiance stopped in one time while buying milk at yr convenience store next door thinking why not?. So the bad part is that they were a little stale BUT to me that means they were actually made fresh because a good fresh donut doesn't stay top notch for very long! If you put it in the microwave for just 10 seconds even the next day, these donuts are heaven. The filled donuts are FILLED not just a penny sized amount of filling like at Dunkin Donuts. I've only had the coffee once and it was fabulous, fresh, brewed perfectly, hot, and thank GOD the flavored coffees don't just have shots of syrup in them!! Another must try, their egg and cheese on English muffin sandwiches. They toast the English muffin to a slight crisp so it doesn't fall apart on you and the egg is cooked fresh. I crave those sandwiches as soon as I wake up on weekends. If you're local or in the area, you're crazy not to try this place. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming! read more
