I don't recommend preordering from this place. Called in a month before the release date of an exclusive book to preorder or be added on a waitlist. Ended up explaining to the staff what the book is, stayed on the phone with the staff to find and order the book from the distributor, and told me I was first in line to get it. This is an amazing LGS "local gaming store" for Magic the Gathering (which is what I play) and Pokémon (what my kids play)! The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. They price everything based off of TCGplayer.com, which gives them super competitive pricing and means that customers are not getting ripped off, but instead a great deal. They have amazing stock for these card games, but they also have an incredible sales floor full of board games, toys, gaming accessories! They have so much stock compared to most other LGSs, and I've been able to pick up needed singles for both myself and my kids and sometimes better than online prices, without any wait. Service here is lacking unless your a teenager with pokeman cards. Selection they have a gang of games and cards but really lacking on the comics. I would say they should change thier name a bit as i saw next to nothing with king kong or godzilla. Hence why have the name king kong and you dont carry any king kong action figures, comics or anything kaiju. Also the place has a little corner of comics but the rest of the store is games and cards. Weak. If your looking for comics or action figures such as king kong or godzilla or anything that has too do with the monster universe. Only giving them a 2 star is because i asked for something and at first it didnt look like he was gonna help me until the next day. Used to like coming here, but too many times my pull list was messed up, was constantly told I didn't get a copy of my requested comic they sold out, I would call the shop, send a message to the discord , and check in the store but still, getting stuff I didn't ask for mixed in, told the owner the issue and told me to text him what I wanted, afterwards he completely ignored my texts,cancelled my list here and went elsewhere. read more

They got new owners a few months back and me and the gang pull up there 1-2 times a week, Kerry and the team and great and friendly and always able to help with special orders or anything else you need. The selection is sparse but with kerry able tot help with orders it can work. And everything is at MSRP which is more than you can say at many other places. read more

Stopped by today to see if I could unload some original Star Wars comic books my mom bought for me as a kid in the 70's. Ended up having a nice chat with the owner about comics in general. I ended up trading him my comics for a compilation of Spider Man stories from the original series. In the end, I'm sure he got the better end of the deal, but I honestly just appreciate the simplicity of walking in, getting an honest evaluation and walking out with something more valuable to someone else (my son is a monstrous Spider Man fan) than the value those comics held for me. (Plus, I didn't have to deal with neurotic buyer on eBay.) BTW, I have NO idea what Magic the Gathering is, but there were two grown men playing it in the middle of the day on a Thursday. They have aisles and aisles of trading card and other types of board games plus figurines from Star Wars and other movies. A neat place to hang out if you're into that type of thing. read more

Come for the comics, stay for the collectables. Best comic shop in the area (granted, there are only 3), with most current titles. Also a nice selection of figures, games and cards. Best to get here on release day, though. Recently visited 2 days after comic I wanted was released, and they were sold out. Ironically, I was here the day before the release, as they were unboxing and had the issue on the table...but they stood by their policy, and said they could not sell it to me until the next morning. I respect that they stood by policy...but bummed that it resulted in driving me online to make the purchase. Sadly, I think comic stores like this are headed towards extinction, like so many other retailers. The variety is 2nd to none, spanning items from the 60's to modern day. There's always something new to see and hidden gems from your childhood hidden around every corner. The shop is kept clean and well organized and the crew is attentive, well informed, and very customer oriented - always seeking to satisfy your needs. This place has really inventory in comics and board games. My boyfriend and I were impressed with what they had, especially their out of print board games section. The shop also looks to be quite well organized. Staff here were also noticeably helpful to customers when customers had questions. Products also looks to be retail priced and not overpriced from hype. Only downside was there were quite a number of people there playing what looks to be Magic(?) during this time. They were all wearing masks (I think) but the shop isn't huge and their proximity in seating was a bit concerning. Though, i understand this type of business is built on community, so these type of gathering are kind of needed for the business to survive. I am a bit torn on my thoughts here. read more

Every time I go in I am always greeted by someone at the store, whether they are extremely busy or not busy at all. I shop at King Kong exclusively for Pokémon cards. They always have a vast selection and it is organized extremely well. Prices are extremely reasonable and products are reputable. Quick and easy transactions always. Very kind people. read more

This store is exceptional. I visited recently in search of a Pokemon theme deck that had been sold out everywhere else. Upon arrival, the owner immediately addressed us with the friendliest attitude, making sure all of our questions were answered before we made our purchase. Although I didn't participate in any games while I was there, the sense of community was there and it seems like many of them are regulars. You can tell how much the owner loves his job and making his customers happy. We will definitely be back soon to grow our Pokemon collection! read more

This hidden gem is located in a strip mall next to a gym and restaurant. It's new but has a lot of inventory! We stopped in for some Pokémon cards and to look at Sega games, the employee(maybe owner?) was super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back ! read more

They hold several trading card tournaments (YuGiOh, Magic, etc) but my son only plays YuGiOh. Those weekly events normally have 20+ people playing. They have a great selection of statues, retro action figures, graphic novels, comics, and table top accessories. Trading cards for YuGiOh, Magic, and Pokemon are fairly priced. I've been coming here between 2-3 years even though there are a few other comic stores closer to me (I travel about 20miles to get here). The staff here are great and the people who play tournaments are all about having fun. read more

Albeit I really haven't collected comics in over a decade, I've been wanting to stop by and look around. Overall 4.5/5 btw. It's surprisingly bigger from the outside looks of it. They have a decent amount of selection and variety. Overall, they sell magic cards, comics and accessories, toys and games/role play games. The only thing I didn't really see was manga, but I imagine you can special order these along whatever catches your eye in the Previews catalog. I kinda of have to knock it alittle since the parking area in that area is or can be fairly bad due to the gym so it may be a slight inconvenience if you have to walk from the trader's joe side of the shopping complex. read more

You can tell the owner loves what he does...this place has the most amazing vibe and a really lively, fun atmosphere. And they have SO MUCH STUFF. The person helping us was really nice, very personable and NOT pushy. Place is neat with everything separated and easy to find. His prices are imo the most cooperative in the bay and the internet. Was in the area for the weekend and went to 5 different shops and this one was by far the cheapest price wise. There were a few items we saw that are hot right now and he was still 25% cheaper than internet pricing. I really hope this shop stays for a long time. I'm willing to make an hour plus drive to support this place.
