This place is used to be great before. Today my wife and I went there, they tried to trick you not do the $20 foot massage and committed to the $30 and up. Originally my group and I went upstairs to another massage place, we had issues there and came down here. The receptionist is really nice and probably speaks the not English out of everyone there. She's in a very small room before you enter the main room. The curtain made of a piece of clothe separates the room, sometimes it's down and other times, it's tied up. The main room consists of 12 beds next to each other, there's basically no privacy. Masseuses (that's what I'll call them) hang out in the back waiting for clients. Some sit on the bed, while others were giving massages. The room is dark but soothing music playing in the background. We were told to sit on the foot rest and put our belongings in the basket. Take off your shoes, socks, and jacket. Men should take off their shirt. Women will get this towel with a velcro to put under their arms and take their shirt off. Ladies, put your hair up. Next you will sock your feet in warm water while the masseuse works on your back. The first time I went, Lucy (if that's your name), worked on me. She was amazing. I prefer my massages to be soft and gentle, usually they bear the crap out of you. I had a lot of loose hairs and she clipped them up for me. Lucy also stretched me out. Next you lie on your back for the face and scalp massage part. Lucy undid my crazy messy bun gently. Then I rolled onto my stomach. She undid my bra and slipped my arms out. Then she worked on my back which includes hot stones (they don't charge extra for hot stones). When she was done, she helped me strap my bra back on and slip my arms back in. Another time I went I got someone probably new, compared to Lucy, he had no idea what he was doing. The girl next to him keep telling him what to do. He freestyled it and did some strange things. When the massage is done, you grab all your belongings from the basket. Go into the small room and pay. The masseuses line up and wait for their tip. They know who they worked on but you probably don't. It's $15/hr, don't expect the Ritz. You will leave other clients come in and out while putting their stuff in the basket or grabbing them. I paid $45 for a 1 hour/deep tissue massage. For the first 15 min the lady just gently rubbed down the center of my back with some lotion. I got up and dressed, and told the lady at the desk. She argued with me that the lady was massaging me (how would she know if she wasn't in there) and told me that it's my problem, the lady is doing her job. I highly DO NOT recommend this place. I don't know my girl's name, but she was young and didn't say much but she did a great job! For such a small human I was surprised how wonderfully strong her hands were! Had my massage done yesterday with a lady there and she wasn't good at all. She press on my bone alot and it's hurt. I also notice that she spent more time walking back and forth alot to kill my massage time. She work more on my left foot by massaging it very lightly (which i didn't ike), while my right foot expose out in the cold air for awhile. I was starting to feel annoyed so i pull the little cloth that use to cover my eyes to see what she was doing. She didn't even notice that i look because she was busy focusing on her phone. Yes, she was busy watching something on her phone while she was suppose to be massaging my foot. I paid $45 for 75 mins so i can get the extra work on my upper back upon my agreements prior to paying but it didn't happen. I end up stopping it earlier before my time end. She wasn't good at all, she was rude, lazy and just a bad massage overalls. I was too upset and forgot to get her name down. I did mention the issue to the pretty front desk lady/owner. All she said is sorry, maybe it wasn't a good match or maybe the massage lady is having a bad day. Whatever... She gave me a card with two name that she recommend me for next time visit. I've had much better massages from here in the past, but this was one of the most lack luster I've ever had. The foot water was tepid, the towels luke warm at best and the 'hot' stones were room temperature. The pressure was too soft most of the massage and the massure didn't understand when I tried to get across to massage harder. Didn't touch my head or face at all and the finish was choppy and half hearted 10 minutes over the blanket. Venue was clean, ambiance was nice and receptionist pleasant. I randomly selected King Massage because it was on ground floor and it was closest to where I found a vacant parking spot. It must have been my lucky day because I ended up receiving one of the best $15 massage I ever had. The layout at King Massage was very similar to other Chinese massage centers I've been to, with a dozen massage beds staggered across a dark small room. I did not see any private rooms, so there must only be one type of massage service offered here. Westminster Chinese massages are slightly different from San Gabriel massages, in that male customers are asked to remove their shirt so the therapist can apply pressure to the shoulder and back without having to do it through several layers of clothes. 15 minutes: shoulder and neck 5 minutes: feet soak 5-10 minutes: head and face including ears and eyebrows 15 minutes: back 15 minutes: feet 5-10 minutes: thighs and arms The total duration was around 65 minutes, which is rare to find these days since Asian therapists often cheat on time and end at the 45 to 55 minute mark. My masseuse did not stop once to answer her phone or was interrupted by others chatting to her. Overall, the massage was effective and professional. She applied medium pressure level. Unlike many places which waste time massaging the head, face, and feet, my masseuse at King Massage focused on the shoulders and neck, which were actually areas where my muscles were tight. There was light stretching done, but for the most part, it was an acupressure type of massage to relieve pain. She hit the right pressure points on my shoulders and upper back to alleviate tension. King Massage, however, might scare away people who are very conscious about sanitation. The masseuse here do not wear a glove when massaging your face with lotion, and it was unclear whether my masseuse washed her hands before starting the face massage. For the $15 price tag, places outside of Westminster (including San Gabriel) can only offer a massage focused on the feet, or one that is done on a recliner chair. For example, he was massaging my feet in an up and down motion... it would slow down to a stop... then he would wake up and try to make up by doing quick up/down motion. Don't go here expecting the same kind of massage you would get at a spa. It's relaxing, but there are many types of massage out there. This is not the $100 for an hour type. That being said, you get an hour long "foot" massage that is really a full body massage for $15. Like other similar foot massage places, you are in a darkened room full of other people. Some guys take their shirts off, but other than that you are fully clothed. You start off by soaking your feet and having a cup of tea, they massage your feet, legs, arms, back, and head. They have some quiet music playing and it people in the lobby area aren't talking , it is quite peaceful. Don't forget to tip them well. I usually don't let a guy massage me as I don't feel comfortable and their hands are rough and heavy (no offense meant to the guys there). We paid for those certificates, covid doesn't give you permission to just cancel what customers paid for. And their massage now is $30, an increased from $15 before. My friend and I purchased the $20 massage with a private room @ the floor location. We were then walked across the plaza to their 2nd floor which are where the private dividers and rooms are. I was told by my friend I could be naked but could leave loose shorts on. I opted for just my underwear anyway. I undress and there are a few towels in the room that I decide to use as cover up of my privates. Anyway, the masseuse comes in then tells me to sit on chair and covers me with a legit mini cover up. I was wondering why there wasn't a cover up in the room already to begin with. It started on a stool/chair then I moved to the massage bed. They used hot stones too. I enjoyed myself and she was decent. The therapist kept going in and out of the room though to gather materials. I would suggest keeping materials closer instead of running back and forth... My biggest complaint that left me feeling like I got hustled is the tip part. The minimum tip that was printed on a paper is apparently "$10-15." The massage was only $15 + 5 more dollars for a private room. I should've just went to a higher quality establishment that charges $50 if they wanted a $10 tip. My friend tipped her therapist $5 which he took. But when me and my friend were getting ready to leave, and I was gonna hand my therapist $5 tip (which is more than 30%), she didn't take it or say thank you. She pointed at the printed paper $10-15 tip. I felt uncomfortable but handed it over as well as gave $5 for the other therapist (for my friends therapist)since he was demanding more for his tip too. Surely, when you go to a cheap place, you don't expect much/the greatest quality. One out of every 4 massage therapists speaks English so don't expect them to get everything you are communicating. But make sure you tell the cashier about any injuries or Special requests and they will take care of you. $15 bucks per hour. Including hot stones, foot soak and hot towels. Well worth it. Try to tip $7-10 bucks. These folks really work hard. Don't expect the Monarch Beach Spa ok, it's bare bones, simple and to the point. It's all about the firm rub down for aching muscles. Okay let's first start off with, do you enjoy hard, rough massages? Do you not mind being partially clothed in a room of at least 10 other people getting a massage? Then go to king massage! It's $15/hr for a foot massage and $35 for a body massage. I've never got the body massage but here is what I have experienced with the foot massage for the past 3 years. They say foot massage but it's really a body massage in my mind. First, I recommend coming in little clothing that you can. If you're a girl, I like to wear comfy shorts, a triangle swim top and a t shirt. When you first arrive they will have you sit down and for women they will ask you to remove your shirt and they will place a towel around you so you may take off your shirt. I find it easiest if you wear a string triangle top so they can easily tie it and untie it in order to massage you. Once you remove your top they will place this wrap towel around you (women only). They don't ask you to remove your shirts, but I'm not sure what would happen if you came here wearing pants... They will then start massaging your upper back, shoulders, neck, and arms. This one guy caught me by surprise once because we cracked my back in ways I've never had done to me before. I immediately jumped and was like whoa! And he laughed and said "ok?" I'm a small little person so in the beginning and throughout the one hour he kept asking "is this okay? Are you okay?" because they are known to go pretty rough. Next you will lay on the bed face up and they will massage your face and head. My boyfriend usually asks them to skip the face and they just do extra elsewhere. Then they will massage your arms and legs and then you will flip over on your belly and they will massage more of your back and shoulders and then your lower body. In fact, one would easily confuse the two massage places on the first floor as they both refer to themselves as King Massage. But, I think one of them is "King's Palace." You can save the walk up the stairs to the other places but I wouldn't advise that. I brought myself and a friend here because I wanted to show how awesome cheap massages can be. But, you get what you pay for. Upon arrival, I clearly requested that I preferred a female masseuse. Even though they got that wrong the female masseuse was grumpy about having to massage me instead of my friend. I sat down and she slapped me with a towel and ordering me to remove my sweater. In fact, she murmured aloud what a fuss I was being; the other masseuses cautiously snickered. She continued to be petty and have this one sided spat with me. So, I INSISTED that my friend take her. She happily obliged. Afterwards, I was told she came on to him but he was happy with that. Apparently, she pocketed all the money he gave her and didn't give him change.
