I really enjoyed King's Chophouse. It's can easily become a place you frequent due to its intimate setting, great customer service, and great food. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. First time I never had to send it back (I'm a medium well person)! Celebrated my anniversary here and noticed it doubles as a good spot for date night or a calm night with family and friends. We had reservations for NYE for the first time here. We were seated right away and the service was great. The food was good, didn't even have a chance to take pics of entrees but probably the only negative we thought was the portion sizes for the price. Drinks: Eh. We tried the Blood Moon and Warm Up. They were ok. Ended up switching to wines or beers. Other drinks were ok. Apps: Wedge salad was sort of like a side salad size. Short rib croquettes three per order were good. Baked clams were delicious. Entrees: Filet mignon was delicious. Ribeye and another special steak (I believe porterhouse) we're specials that night at $4 per ounce. Good taste of steaks and sauces. We went to Kings Chophouse for first time on Valentine's Day. It is a small space but it gives intimate and exclusive vibes. My husband got an old fashion cocktail and I ordered a glass of wine. We ordered shrimp cocktail and oysters to start. This seafood was fresh and the accoutrements they give you - horse radish specifically made it so much better. For our entree we did the 30 ounce rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection. We did a side of brussel sprouts which were delicious. We ended the night with espresso martinis and a heart shaped eclair with chocolate cherry almond filling. My wife and I like to try different places to eat every now and then. We found this place on open table and thought. Why not ‍. The waitress was very nice but the food definitely not worth it! Baked clams were the smallest I've ever seen in my life! Look at them compared to the tiny fork ! They were absolutely tiny! They tasted like bread crumbs on top of a baby clam and we're very mushy. Shrimp cocktail was OK but for $5 a piece definitely not worth it! There was absolutely NO salt in anything! Everything was bland. The cream of spinach was spinach with a watery white sauce. We've been in Bayshore for a handful of months now, slowly trying the restaurants on Main Street. We finally got around to Kings Chophouse, and WOW! It's a cozy restaurant that is well decorated. Lights were dimmed so it had a romantic feel. Gigi was our server and she was great. She had plenty of recommendations, and she was super timely with drinks and getting in our orders. We started with the short rib croquettes, they were delicious. It's a small order of 3, which was nice splitting it between 2 people. I believe it was over horse radish sauce. For dinner, I had the 12oz strip steak and my fiancé had the 10oz filet Mignon. Big we're cooked to perfection, and they had a great seasoning on them. You also get to pick between a few different sauces to come on the side of you steak. With dinner, we split the Burrata salad and mashed potatoes. These were also both delicious. While we didn't get dessert, we asked what they had. Gigi let us know that it changes, but tonight they had NY Cheesecake with charm cracker crust, a brownie with fudge top and a peanut dusting. At the end of dinner I asked my wife what she thought and she replied "Wonderful!" We went to King's Chophouse for our 20th anniversary. We ordered their clams and steak tartare. The clams were among the best we've had locally but the steak tartare was amazing. With chopped onions, capers and Dijon/horseradish sauce with toasted bread- we could have made a meal of that alone! But we had more. I had the duck. My wife had the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly. The hanger steak melted in your mouth and the duck was juicy and flavorful. The side dishes of Mac and cheese along with creamed spinach added to a great dining experience! The great food was made even better by the attentive and enthusiastic Gigi who served us with a contagious smile! Came here for my anniversary dinner and it was such a great experience. The ambiance of the cozy restaurant was elevated by a jazz trio playing live music on their back patio that we could still enjoy from inside. Also, it was such a treat to order from their new menu! We started out with two of their highly recommended drinks, the Detox to Retox and Settle Down. Both were delicious, light, and left you wanting more - in a good way! We also enjoyed a shrimp cocktail app to share before devouring a generously flavorful steak alongside shareable sides of Mac and cheese and glazed carrots. The meal was seamless, hearty, and memorable. Lastly, we sipped on two more Cocktails to wash it all down lol. My guy and I have been dying to try this place! I've heard such mixed reviews (not one great) but still wanted to check it out for myself. The place inside is adorable, it does have a city-ish feel to it and in a weird way reminded me of the movie Clue, LOL. Between the two of us, we split a 30oz ribeye which was lacking in seasoning and salt, just ok at best. Two sides included creamed spinach and mushrooms, also just alright. Two sauces: their kings special sauce, reminded me of a Peter Lugars sauce and a Bernaise which was originally served cold and looked like pudding. I told the bartender (nice dude) who immediately brought it back and it was mildly reheated... still just ok. It should have been hot and that was totally gross that they even brought that out looking like that, how do the peeps in the kitchen working not know that? Concerning. I'm a huge dessert girl... hate cheesecake....anyway, my guy ordered it and I tasted it.. it tasted old and waxy, almost inedible just like the bernaise sauce. My mini chocolate lava cake was good and I ate the whole thing.. I think this place is flat out over priced for the quality it delivered. Huge miss with the under seasoned, boring steak, pudding like bernaise sauce, and disgusting cheesecake. I have to say that I really, really like this place. We met friends here for drinks a few months ago. Bartenders and everyone was super nice. Drinks delicious and very professionally made. We had dinner reservations down the block and left to have dinner, but upon arriving at the other place realized that the band they had playing was so loud we only stayed for an appetizer and went back to King's for dinner. We had the seafood tower which was beautiful and fresh. I had the scallops which were delicious (it was Good Friday, so no meat for me) but will most definitely be back to sample the steaks and STEAK TARTARE which is one of my favs!! It's a steakhouse that bears the price tag of a steakhouse but doesn't display the pretentiousness of classic steakhouses. It's a small, warm space that feels laid-back and inviting and very tasteful. We arrived and I was immediately excited to experience the menu and the food and see what they had to offer. I really wanted to love this place. The server was pleasant and explained the menu well, and seemed to be a perfect match for the ambience of the restaurant. We had a salad off the specials menu with dried cherries and goat cheese which was delicious and creative, but just didn't seem to live up to the price tag. The clams appetizer was delicious and miniscule. The special 37oz ribeye was $160. Although I am no expert in steaks and it was tasty, it just felt too expensive for the experience of it all. Dessert was where I affirm my three stars...it was a dark chocolate ganache cake that was two entirely different textures and the flavors did not work. I love that King's Chophouse removes the formality of the classic steakhouse and offers a more casual setting to deliver quality steakhouse offerings, but I would opt to try different items when I return. read more

I recommend they put more tables in the window and those cute hostesses up front with a podium; get that traffic , keep it approachable. Cuban style dining at the bar should be booming at 7pm on a Saturday. PS Thanks for moving us away from "Mister Patchouli" who stunk at the other table; that is good hospitality. This was one of the more delightful dinners I've had in a while, my girlfriend and I enjoyed ourself through every course. My steak tartare was one of the best I've ever had, my girlfriend's burrata salad was amazing, the crunch with the cheese and arugula was perfection in every bite. My hanger steak was so tender with the au poiurve making a perfect addition. My girlfriend's filet with bernaise was so amazing! Our server Spencer was attentive and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, he made the swordfish sound so good but the hanger steak was my choice. Wanted to love this place based on the theme and decor but unfortunately it did not make the mark. This restaurant clearly strives to be the same caliber as it's highly regarded contemporaries in east islip and west islip but to say it pales in comparison is an understatement. Being able to charge over 100$ per steak requires a certain expertise and quality that comes with experience and pride. I'm sure with time they will get there but not right now. Ordering a medium rare steak means that the average temperature might get to medium rare, but be warned the steak will run the gamut meaning half your steak will be rare and half will be well done. Sides come out cold and other meats are dry and tasteless. Otherwise the service and ambience were perfect, hopefully with time the food will get there too. read more

I brought my family in there to celebrate my moms birthday on Thursday. It was the second time I had been there. We ate like kings. Practically got everything on the menu and it was all delicious. The cocktails are great. The decor is beautiful. The dry aged steaks are my favorite. Even they simple Caesar salad is amazing. King's offers a great selection of aged steaks, seafood, starters, and raw bar options on the menu. Our party split an enormous bone in NY Strip that was amazing, we also had the Salmon which melts in your mouth. The creamed spinach, burnt broccoli and whipped potatoes were spot on. I enjoyed the Kings Old Fashioned with my meal, the bartender nailed it. You can tell the owners paid attention to detail when considering the ambiance. They choose walnut wood to accent the bar and walls along with great lighting. The seating is comfortable and there is a very welcoming feeling. I took my husband here fir Father's day because he likes Steak and we wanted to try it out, we love Bayshore downtown area for food However, I was very disappointed with Kings Chop House! Not only did the server have an attitude with me but also the scallops that I was looking forward to were gummy and not cooked to a soft buttery consistency (and $40 at that for 3 scallops)! My son's Airplane Chicken platter was nothing to write home about, as far as chickens go, it was a simple chicken breast served with currants and a thin slice of orange My husband's King Chop 12oz Steak was actually delicious and I should've gotten that instead The waitress did offer to send back the scallops and cook them alittle more- but that didn't do it, it was still not cooked well! I ended up leaving it and had tapenade on crackers when I got home (I was starving by then)! On another note, the temperature was cold , the couple next yo us moved to what they thought would be warmer, but that wasn't so! I ended up going back to my car to get a sweater for my son because he too was All In all, my husband was happy with his Steak and Martini (liquor will do that to you). Had dinner here for the first time tonight. Started with the Wedge. It was fine. Could have been a little more embellished with a few more crumbles of blue cheese & bacon. Dressing was a little scarce. Husband had crab cake. That was good. Ordered creamed spinach, that was good. Steak fries, they were good. Fried onions, way over fried. Next were 3 filet mignons. ALL overcooked. Medium well does NOT mean pot roast. Even the medium one was mostly gray. I think for the prices charged food needs to be superior. I feel as though some restaurants wants to charge high prices to create a buzz, & people want to be seen dining there because it is impressive to be dining in a high end eatery. Finally made it here for brunch and all I have to say is-WOW. Really happy I went with a few people and was able to order a bunch of things to share. First: yogurt parfait which was so fresh, had a great natural sweetness to it. Burrata toast next-I enjoyed their take on it with the chili crisp (and it's burrata toast it's just great). Next up was the Dutch Baby which was something new to me and I am so happy I tried. I am not much of a citrus fan in a baked setting but this crepe-like dish was unreal. The chef makes a "quiche of the moment" which this week had pork belly in it, crispy shallots on top, seasonal salad on the side, it was a huge portion also. For the sweet portion of the brunch we had the coffee cake which was sooo good! I couldn't believe the portion, but to all the coffee cake snobs I dare you to try! The creme fraiche oozing off the side...just so good. There was a milk bread hazelnut cake on special and I had never had anything like this either. I'm a huge hazelnut fan and this cake was perfect. I almost want to reference tres leches cake but with a crunchy hazelnut topping, really cool. Now, for the food that we ate, I CANNOT believe the prices on this menu. I truly can say this was one of the nicest/best brunches I've ever had and with the quality and portion of food that was served-it was truly a steal. Raw bar appetisers were fresh, chilled, and brought out promptly by our very knowledgeable server. Chunky crab with the house made yet mignonette sauce was a delight. For the mains, it was the house special 75 day dry aged bone in ribeye with side of mushroom, mac n cheese, and asparagus. If you would like to have the most expensive porterhouse for 2 on LI this is the place to go... it was 203 or 208 can't recall I am still in shock... My friend ordered the fake Peter Lugers sauce for 5 dollars which never came but when the bill is over 600 dollars at the point why does it matter. Never in my wildest dreams would I think going to Rothmans, Peter Luger's, insignia, Blackstone, or Bryant & Cooper would have been a major savings.... This is a one and done for me after the babysitter was paid this was a 400$ plus night. Was the food bad? No but Bayshore for a 200 dollar steak? WTF? I had another amazing experience at Kings with my girlfriend. We both shared the wedge salad and burrata which were both excellent. She of course went back to scallops for her main, which she said is one of the best she has had. I contemplated the pork chop as the table next to us had, and it looked amazing but I decided to get the aged ribeye. I was not disappointed in the least. We went to King's last night to celebrate a birthday. From the drinks to the apps to the sides and entrees and desserts, every detail was beautiful, and every bite delicious. The flavors in the accompanying parts of the main part of each plate (the sauces, drizzles, the small bites, etc.) were perfect, and even the plating of everything was pretty. We are not steak lovers but wanted to try this new restaurant in town. Did not regret it! We ordered the two seafood items on the menu and loved them! The fish was striped bass - cooked to perfection and served with amazing maitake mushrooms (also called hen in woods). So good I'm still thinking about them. Came here with a group of 6 last night. First off the place is tiny, there are only a few tables and they are really close to each other. Not your typical steakhouse as far as ambiance, also music is very loud. We tried both raw and baked clams as an appetizer. They were good but clams were very small. Aged steaks varied, no prices on menu .. 51 oz ribeye was tasty, priced at $179, 28 oz shell was ok at $98 but Bone in strip at $140 was mostly fat and bone. Manager did comp half the price of the steak after we complained about it. Sides of Mac and cheese, potatoes and spinach were all fine. Dessert pass on it, chocolate kings cake looked good but was hard and stale, no one ate the two pieces we ordered. They don't serve coffee but would make a Irish coffee, latte or cappuccino... never heard that before. Overall the aged steaks were ok and not impressive to anyone, Bill was over $800 we all said we prefer other steakhouses such as Tellers, Paces and Vintage Prime. read more
