    Rib Eye 30 ounce
    Colleen M.

We went to Kings Chophouse for first time on Valentine's Day. It is a small space but it gives intimate and exclusive vibes. My husband got an old fashion cocktail and I ordered a glass of wine. We ordered shrimp cocktail and oysters to start. This seafood was fresh and the accoutrements they give you - horse radish specifically made it so much better. For our entree we did the 30 ounce rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection. We did a side of brussel sprouts which were delicious. We ended the night with espresso martinis and a heart shaped eclair with chocolate cherry almond filling. It was a great dinner and our server Erica delivered speedy and friendly service whilst not rushing us at all. Would recommend for a special night out.

Smallest backed clams I've ever seen!

My wife and I like to try different places to eat every now and then. We found this place on open table and thought. Why not ‍. The waitress was very nice but the food definitely not worth it! Baked clams were the smallest I've ever seen in my life! Look at them compared to the tiny fork ! They were absolutely tiny! They tasted like bread crumbs on top of a baby clam and we're very mushy. Shrimp cocktail was OK but for $5 a piece definitely not worth it! There was absolutely NO salt in anything! Everything was bland. The cream of spinach was spinach with a watery white sauce. The Mac and cheese was so so. The steak ( which came out undercooked and had to get sent back) was a nice cut but like I said very bland! The steak sauce tasted more like ketchup than steak sauce. The worst of it all is after 30 minutes of being home I got the runs! Don't say I didn't warn you!

    Short Rib Croquettes

We've been in Bayshore for a handful of months now, slowly trying the restaurants on Main Street. We finally got around to Kings Chophouse, and WOW! It's a cozy restaurant that is well decorated. Lights were dimmed so it had a romantic feel. Gigi was our server and she was great. She had plenty of recommendations, and she was super timely with drinks and getting in our orders. We started with the short rib croquettes, they were delicious. It's a small order of 3, which was nice splitting it between 2 people. I believe it was over horse radish sauce. For dinner, I had the 12oz strip steak and my fiancé had the 10oz filet Mignon. Big we're cooked to perfection, and they had a great seasoning on them. You also get to pick between a few different sauces to come on the side of you steak. With dinner, we split the Burrata salad and mashed potatoes. These were also both delicious. While we didn't get dessert, we asked what they had. Gigi let us know that it changes, but tonight they had NY Cheesecake with charm cracker crust, a brownie with fudge top and a peanut dusting. They have an in house pastry chef! We are looking forward to dinning here again.

    Perfect creamed spinach!!

At the end of dinner I asked my wife what she thought and she replied "Wonderful!" We went to King's Chophouse for our 20th anniversary. We ordered their clams and steak tartare. The clams were among the best we've had locally but the steak tartare was amazing. With chopped onions, capers and Dijon/horseradish sauce with toasted bread- we could have made a meal of that alone! But we had more. I had the duck. My wife had the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly. The hanger steak melted in your mouth and the duck was juicy and flavorful. The side dishes of Mac and cheese along with creamed spinach added to a great dining experience! The great food was made even better by the attentive and enthusiastic Gigi who served us with a contagious smile! We will be back and you should check out this hidden gem on Main St Bay Shore!

    30 oz ribeye for $120

My guy and I have been dying to try this place! I've heard such mixed reviews (not one great) but still wanted to check it out for myself. The place inside is adorable, it does have a city-ish feel to it and in a weird way reminded me of the movie Clue, LOL. Between the two of us, we split a 30oz ribeye which was lacking in seasoning and salt, just ok at best. Two sides included creamed spinach and mushrooms, also just alright. Two sauces: their kings special sauce, reminded me of a Peter Lugars sauce and a Bernaise which was originally served cold and looked like pudding. I told the bartender (nice dude) who immediately brought it back and it was mildly reheated... still just ok. It should have been hot and that was totally gross that they even brought that out looking like that, how do the peeps in the kitchen working not know that? Concerning. I'm a huge dessert girl... hate cheesecake....anyway, my guy ordered it and I tasted it.. it tasted old and waxy, almost inedible just like the bernaise sauce. My mini chocolate lava cake was good and I ate the whole thing.. I think this place is flat out over priced for the quality it delivered. Huge miss with the under seasoned, boring steak, pudding like bernaise sauce, and disgusting cheesecake. I was actually annoyed our bill was almost $300, it felt so wrong even paying that but we did also drink. I can't say that I would run back here even though I do want to try their steak tartare...

I have to say that I really, really like this place. We met friends here for drinks a few months ago. Bartenders and everyone was super nice. Drinks delicious and very professionally made. We had dinner reservations down the block and left to have dinner, but upon arriving at the other place realized that the band they had playing was so loud we only stayed for an appetizer and went back to King's for dinner. We had the seafood tower which was beautiful and fresh. I had the scallops which were delicious (it was Good Friday, so no meat for me) but will most definitely be back to sample the steaks and STEAK TARTARE which is one of my favs!! Great service, great food. Go here!

Il Piccolo Villaggio one of people's favorite Italian places in Long Island, some call the hidden gem! If you are new to this place you might love it, like I did throughout the times I've been to this restaurant. Now, this restaurant not too long ago was full of some of the greatest servers I've seen in the Island and had an absolute outstanding incredible service! But it's coming to an end. When you go to an Italian restaurant you expect great food and great service with an adult and people with experience make your night. Lately this restaurant has had many issues with that now is full of kids and girls trying to do this job like is a game, don't get me wrong I am not against female servers or kids getting new jobs, but for me this is not the place to be if you are going to do the real server/waiter/waitress job. Water not being served, not knowing THEIR OWN MENU, not serving the wine after they sell like its self service. If you sell pour help the costumer serve the wine don't just open serve one time and leave because you will not get a good tip and even ask for a good review like this girl does. You walk by or just sitting down you see people looking for their server to ask for water or pour wine themselves. Now why the 3 stars and not 2 or 1? I still see this kid Jeff and always with a good smile on his face, the last good and old school server I know after the 2 old ones left, this kid and the food is the reason some people do go back. Many will say oh it's just because you like this kid but no. Go yourself ask for him and you will see a difference in the service! Sometimes the menu and specials are repetitive and I I tell him make me something he always surprises me! His way of serving the old school way makes me feel hope for this restaurant. Manager or owner if you see this please save your service, take this review as a kind message to get your level back to where it was. We the neighborhood, the community still want Il Piccolo Villaggio to be top choice for Italian cuisine around here.

Happy hour at the bar is from 12-7pm with the bar bites available after 4pm. The place is very nicely decorated and exudes an upscale but unpretentious vibe. I ordered a glass of the pinot noir which was tasty and at $6 a nice bargain. I got the chickpea fries and was surprised by the texture. It was almost custard like with a slight chickpea flavor in a very light breading. Served with the harissa aioli it made for a nice app. After a while I decided to try the Filet mignon sliders, which I ordered medium rare, the bartender said they don't usually take a temp on those but he'd note it. The meat is sliced very thin but was tender and still had a bit of red. The arugula gave it a nice peppery bite. My only critic is the slider roll was very cottony, but the overall taste was very good. I'll definitely be back and will try something off the regular menu.

They have a full bar, so if a beer or cocktail is wanted you do have options there as well. The Mr selected the Chilled Shrimp & Crab Stack, but eliminated the hard boiled egg aspect and thought it was light, tasty and refreshing. I opted for the Faroe Salmon with shrimp that came accompanied/on top of a risotto and peas. I thought cooked medium was perfect making it soft and fork flaky to mix along together. It was a very juicy sizable piece making it very filling. We didn't have time for a dessert, but noted they did have a few offerings there. Also noted they had very well kept mens/woman's and family restroom with baby changing table. Thanks! Would highly recommend this location to others.

I was told it hadn't, but there was a new manager whom I had actually seen at the restaurant. Despite all of that, my family insisted we give it another chance because they love one particular meal. I refused to order, pay, or pick it up--and sure enough, they forgot the salad dressing (again!) and another part of the order was incorrect. When I called and asked if someone could deliver the missing items I was met with attitude once again. Tonight, we gave them yet another chance, and, surprise, two of our pasta orders were wrong. On top of that, the food simply doesn't taste as good as it used to.
