We randomly tried this place because it was close and it was such a pleasant surprise ! The food was amazing , the taste, the portion and the presentation. All the rolls had a personality of their own which I can appreciate. There is also great variety in the menu. At first glance the menu seemed small but it has everything you need if you came for the sushi. The food had great spice levels also! I also liked that you can tell they use quality ingredients and not just the cheapest they can find. The ponzu sauce was a hit with us also! We left no scraps or crumbs because everything was dang good. Our service was impeccable from the moment we walked in, the guys cooking greeted us and Amanda our server was knowledgeable , kind and had a sense of humor when dealing with our indecisiveness ! Take out and sit-down dining are both easily done, and their prices are more than competitive to match their quantity and size. Rolls you can't go wrong with and I've had multiple times with no lack in quality are the Central, Arizona, Las Vegas, D-Backs rolls. I prefer the deep fried rolls and they've all been extremely fresh, and fantastically put together. Don't hesitate to try some of their appetizers as well, especially the Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken and Gyoza! The Owner is fantastic and always makes you feel welcome whenever you get a chance to meet him and catch him there. I passed by this place yesterday when I was on my way to pick up my subway and the 50% off sushi sign caught my eye. AMAZING - wow the fish was so high quality, I couldn't believe it. I saw the initial reviews and assumed it was going to be good, but the fish is impeccable. The salmon is buttery, the yellowtail is great, and even the tuna and eel (which I usually find to be the weakest fish for most places) was top notch. It's a small place that just opened up that's mostly used for takeout so when you come in, the owner is ready in the waiting to make sure you're never waiting. The service was so kind and thoughtful. The server was incredibly attentive and the co-owner made sure we were being cared for. The chef/owner sent my son over a complimentary "sushi" roll of sushi rice wrapped in seaweed and sprinkled with some seasoning. My 8 year old was absolutely delighted. He felt so special! We ordered takoyaki (dried bonito flakes on the side) and edamame to start. Both were very tasty and perfectly cooked. I feel like this is big for edamame because I don't love when they're soggy and oversteamed. I feel like that happens a lot out there. Not here. We also got a handful of rolls including the Saguaro, Golden California, Suns, and I Love Crab. I loved the fried soft shell crab laying atop my I Love Crab roll, but I thought the actual roll needed some cucumber crunch to firm up the texture. I liked the Suns roll the most and of course my son was obsessed with the Golden California. All the rolls were half price, which was amazing. They also brought us out complimentary miso soup, which may or may not be the norm. Either way, it was very appreciated! Strip mall sushi at its finest. Accessible, tasty, and budget friendly. I've accepted the fact that sushi in Phoenix is not traditional by default, like: crab salad mix instead of crab stick in a Rainbow Roll or the rolls are saturated with sauces. King Salmon is the best "Phoenix-style" sushi because they strikes a balance where other places would smother your tastebuds with mayonnaise, sugary sweet eel sauce, and surplus escarole. There is still too much sauce and mayonnaise where it shouldn't be, but King Salmon get 5 stars for being the best at making this style of sushi work. It's a really small, intimate space. Stopped by here recently for an early dinner and took advantage of their 50% sushi rolls. Honestly for the basic rolls you aren't really saving that much money. Even with the 50% off you are pretty much still paying standard happy hour pricing for basic rolls such as California rolls and spicy tuna rolls. I feel like their signature rolls were a great deal though. Even though the rolls were a little on the smaller side, they still packed them with a lot of seafood and toppings. I wish they had more of a happy hour for beers but they were pretty much full price. I would definitely come back because the sushi tasted fresh and the service was very nice. read more

Incredible service. We were very warmly greeted and felt like they were genuinely excited for us to be there. The rolls were great portions, both in overall size and in amount of protein per bite. Fish was good quality and seaweed actually wasn't "potent"! (Personally, I'm not a fan of seaweed and typically request a soy paper substitute but they unfortunately do not have this option) A ton of different roll options that were super unique and Arizona themed in their naming.
