The food was legit. I ordered three chicken souvlaki, three pork souvlaki, a beef and lamb gyro wrap, and the same thing but as a platter. Everything was clean. There is not as much dehydrating (msg) effect as many other gyro places. I would order everything again. The employees were eager to work, and I didn't expect much of a smile with the fast processing. Plus, this is Queens. You want to see a smile, then say a joke or act like a clown. The food portions did not bother me for the price. I understand the current state of the economy, and every food spot is cutting back sizes. I am almost 300lbs, and on an empty stomach, I have filled off a gyro wrap. If you want to feed two people with $15, go to White Castle across the street. You get what you pay for. Definitely one of my favorite food trucks and greek spots! Their pita sandwiches and the souvlaki are delicious. There is usually a small line whenever I go but it moves quickly. CASH ONLY but there is a small ATM available as well. I always get chicken souvlaki with a side of tzatziki sauce and an order of fries - the fries are seasoned so well and so crispy! This truck does not disappoint. Definitely worth the trip. I've eaten their food a whole bunch of times and I'm when I finally got my order down (I get confused because of all the Greek names) I was so happy. I ordered a platter with chicken and it came with rice (or fries if you want). Since they make it right in front of you, you can customize it however you want. Kudos to their employees for braving the NYC winter. I went late at night when it was sub-freezing and they were still churning out food. The truck is located on the corner of Northern and Bell Boulevard. It's a very busy intersection but you can temporarily park on the side. They're cash only but there's an ATM on the side of their truck. The platters ($13) are a bit pricey but I think the pita sandwiches are so worth it. I got the Chicken Souvlaki Pita Sandwich ($8) and it was so filling. It's packed with veggies, fries, chicken from their kebabs, and topped with their homemade tzatziki sauce. The pita bread was so soft and the chicken was really juicy and tender. However, I thought their fries ($4) were a bit soggy for my liking. TLDR: A great option if you're looking for late night grub. The pita sandwiches are delicious and more worth it than the platters in my opinion. read more

It was a beautiful Friday in May, I was hungrier then a fat kid at a picnic. I placed an order of a chicken kebob sandwich and was so excited to take my first bite. I get there to find out they gave me the other chicken which the owner once called the "bad chicken". I got back saw it and threw up in my mouth. They made the sandwich and made me pay without telling me they ran out of chicken kebobs and gave me the bad chicken. I wouldn't feed a starving dog that sandwich cause he would throw it up on the carpet. This truck is below mid. Stay away unless u want to vomet. If you could use a good puke go to this truck. Great gyros it's in the parking in front of Lenox hill radiology. Cash only but the atm is on the truck. Made in front of you and the gyros have French fries on them I think that's standard. They have a few chairs if you don't want to eat in your car. read more

I don't understand all the positive reviews for this truck. This truck has been serving food in my neighborhood, and I've always seen a bunch of people on line, so I thought to myself "the food must be pretty good". Wrong! First of all, the people working here do not know anything about service. Yes, I know this is a food truck, but that doesn't mean that you have to be mean to work here. The lady who took my order was just nasty. When I asked her the difference between what's included in the platter and the sandwich, she gave me a rude attitude. She didn't look happy at all. When she handed me the food, she didn't say thanks or anything. On to the food...I ended up getting the lamb gyro platter. The best thing about the platter were the French Fries. Other than that, I thought the lamb was just bland. Yes, the portion was big, but what good is that if it doesn't taste good. The best thing about Queens, is that if you do a quick Yelp search on gyros (or Greek food), you'll find a ton of restaurants, and I'm glad to have tried so many of these awesome places. I have always seen a mob of people around this truck and finally, curiosity got the better of me and I stopped to try it out. Parked in the mall lot, and waiting on the long line to order. Different demographics but all looked like they like to eat. There were 3-4 people in the truck in a frenzy of activity. Saw a lot of customer ordering souvlaki but I wanted a gyro so Lamb gyro was what I got. It was very well seasoned and topped with the savory french fries. I promised that I wouldn't eat the whole shebang but you know what? from first juicy bite to the last Whoop there it is bite it went down too easy. $9 for fully loaded delicious gyro was decent value for money. One of the best gyro sandwiches ever. I really wanted the platter but they ran out of rice so had to get the pita wrap. Will be back with my kids. read more

Hello on the go Greek food amazing-ness! I drive by King Souvlaki's food truck almost daily. Tonight (Friday evening), I decided to finally stop and try them out and my goodness. Why did I wait so long to try them out?! They alternate their location from the corner where White Castle is and where the CVS is in Bayside; where Northern Blvd and Bell Blvd intersect. This time they were where the CVS is. I parked in the parking lot for CVS and walked right up. They have the menu posted on the right side of the truck, they also have paper menus you can take with you. Typical Greek food: gyros (pita sandwiches), platters, Greek salads, meat on sticks, fries and hero sandwiches. Prices are not bad, gyros and heros run $6, platters $10, salads $8 and meat sticks $3. They have a mobile ATM on the left side of the truck in case you dont have cash since that's all they take. They have two ice cold containers with sodas, water, Snapple and greek soda. I waited maybe 3 minutes tops for my order. Quick service and there were a few people in front and behind me in line. They had two chairs open for you to sit and eat if you chose to. I got the chicken gyro with everything on it. It was awesome! Chicken was seasoned so well, pita was great and the salad, onions and tomatos were fresh. I enjoyed their white sauce as well. my go to spot for greek food in bayside. Flavor and quality is actually better than the "traditional" sit down greek restaurants in the area when it comes to souvlaki in my opinion. Their chicken is never dry like some of these restaurants. Workers are chill as well. def recommended. My go to is chicken souvlaki platter with half yellow rice half green fries or the gyro sandwich (which they stuff with everything including fries) their greek salad is also bomb too. I love Mediterranean food, so, a few months ago, late night I decided to do a foodie search on Yelp. I found reviews for this truck and decided to take a 15 minute drive into Bayside. I was lucky, I easily found a parking space behind the truck. I placed my order for a Gyro and drove back home to enjoy my meal. Since then, I have patronized this food truck three times and I think my third time may have been my last. First: some reason, I always seem to get the end or burnt strips of chicken or lamb. They end up being so hard that I had to give to my dog or throw away. Second: Each time I called in my order I sti have to wait on this long line AND wait for customers before me have their orders placed and and prepped leaving my meal not as hot as I like it. Third: I think they are a bit over priced to be a truck...a salad with chicken and Greek fries was $20. I wished they offered smaller portions- hence for lower prices as I have no one at home to share my meal with (except my dog) so it goes to waste. The service is good. read more

Being that this mobile restaurant isn't a store, I consider it street food. It deserves a full 5 star review. The truck is always busy, customers always waiting for their orders and there's no such thing as a negative comment when it comes to this business. I've tried every item on this menu and my favorite is the chicken gyro hero sandwich, as well as the souvlaki platter with their freshly cut French fries. There's so much flavor in every item on their menu. The tzatziki sauce is beyond delicious. If I could, I'd use it with everything I eat on a daily basis. Wish the sauce portions were bigger though, because it goes quick. Very friendly staff. I've recommended this "street food" to so many people. In my opinion this makes King Souvlaki miles ahead of any brick and mortar competition on Bell Blvd. My normal lunch order consists of the souvlaki sandwich with everything, and an order of fries on the side. Although I like that they double fry their French fries, they've turned out a bit soggy sometimes, but otherwise it's perfectly seasoned.
