    Chicken Souvlaki Hero Sandwich
    Brandon N.

King Souvlaki has been parked on this corner for as long as I can remember, and it's still one of the most reliable grabs in the neighborhood. I almost always go for the chicken souvlaki on a hero -- mine being loaded with lettuce, onions, fries, tzatziki, lemon juice, oregano, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce. The price has definitely climbed over the years (it's $16 now), but honestly, the sandwich is still huge, flavorful, and filling enough to justify it.

My parents have been getting food from this truck for years.i have had food from here when i go to visit and my parents order. From every time we ordered from here, the food has been so friggin good! My parents enjoy the food so much that they trek all the way from Whitestone to their truck on Bell Blvd. I have tried their lamb gyro, fries, chicken kebabs, and salad. I never had any complaints. The most recent time I had their food, I had the Greek salad since I have moved toward a more vegetarian diet. OMG it was such a massive salad! I could barely finish it but it was so full of ingredients and flavorful. I have not experienced the customer service first hand but from what my parents tell me, they are very nice and efficient. My father said he rarely waits long for the food too. Their truck is usually on the corner of CVS. I believe they also have a location in Astoria.

Been wanting to try this truck for the longest time and finally had the chance! They're cash only but luckily there are a bunch of major chain banks in the area. The food was ok.. I was not too impressed with it. I got their platter with rice. The rice was very undercooked and borderline crunchy. The chicken in pita was bland with barely any flavor or lemon flavor coming through. The saving grace would have to be their stand alone pork souvlaki - I ordered just that one stick because I wanted to try their pork. It was grilled perfectly and meat was tender.

I've been passing this food truck, located on the south side of Northern Boulevard and 213th Street, in Bayside, Queens, for years now. They seem to be there 24/7 365 days a year. Anyway, I finally stopped for a bite the other day. Glad I did. Had the Chicken Souvlaki platter ($15.00). Freshly made and quite tasty and filling. I will definitely stop by again in the future.

Great food truck. Fast service. Food is great. Affordable. But cash only. Souvlaki on a stick comes with Italian bread. Platter you can choose between rice or fries.

No pork here, just fries, tomato, and everything else!

I'm very disappointed I have to write this review. Normally I have had great orders from here but my most recent order blows my mind. I had a GrubHub coupon, and I decided to utilize it before it expired. I ordered my usual, a pork gyro sandwich and a lamb gyro sandwich but guess what? There was NO pork and no lamb in the respective sandwiches. All I have are the sandwiches without the meats. I've never had this experience before. But this is very disappointing to say the least. How do you follow through with the order without adding the most important part?

I always seem to miss the King Souvlaki Food Truck when I'm in Forest Hills, so I was glad to catch it at the Bayside location! The food truck was parked on the same block as CVS Pharmacy. I ordered take-out online so I was able to park in the lot to pick it up. Note that it is cash only if you order at the truck. I got the Lamb & Beef souvlaki platter ($19.20) with lemon and hot sauce, half yellow rice and half fries, pita bread, a side salad, and homemade tzatziki sauce. The fries were standard, but a little soggy because they were under all that yummy tender seasoned meat. Overall, a little expensive, but very satisfying.

The weather was in the high 50s today. After my morning errands, I decided to try King Souvlaki for the first time. The food truck was parked on the same block as CVS Pharmacy. Phew, two people were before me as a long line formed behind me. I quickly glanced at the menu on the food truck. I ordered the Lamb & Beef Gyro Platter over Handcut Fries. The guy asked if I wanted to add lemon juice, salt, and oregano toppings. I told him to add a little bit. I heard that their Pork and Chicken Souvlaki are popular items. I will be back next time. Food: Lamb & Beef Gyro Platter w/ a Side Salad, Pita Bread, and Homemade Tzatziki Sauce - The lamb & beef gyro was flavorful. One word: Scrumptious Handcut Fries - yummy Note: Cash only!

We had an amazing time at King Souvlaki a family-owned gem located at 84-02 3rd Ave, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. If you're craving authentic Greek food, this is the spot! We went all out and got the Large King's Plate--and wow, what a feast! This thing is perfect for a family gathering, a friend hangout, or just you and your wild ambition to "finish it all" (good luck). Here's what you get on this glorious platter: All three of their hand-stacked gyros 6 Souvlaki Sticks - 2 Pork, 2 Chicken, and 2 Kotobacon (yes, that's bacon-wrapped chicken ) 2 Bifteki (Greek-style burgers) and 2 Greek sausages A mountain of hand-cut fries fried in Greek olive oil Toasted pita bread to scoop up all that goodness And all 4 of their homemade dips: Tzatziki, Spicy Feta, King Sauce, and Hummus If you're not drooling yet, you might want to check your pulse. Everything was insanely delicious, and we had a blast trying a little bit of everything. If you're looking to feed a crowd--or just yourself and a dream--this platter is a must-try.

I love the fact that this food truck is a staple in Bayside. I stopped by on my way home from work and picked up a platter so I didn't need to cook after a long week. The chicken was well seasoned and moist and the salad was fresh and full of veggies. The staff was organized and quick. I love that they have chairs and tables right on the sidewalk for people that want to stay and have their food fresh. Always a great experience

Had higher expectation due to all the reviews and the long line I see Everytime I pass this food truck. Finally I bought the chicken souvlaki platter today and was disappointed by the food. The chicken was dry, and I've definitely had better pita and sauce. Maybe because I came at 6 and everything was sitting ready made for a while but the food was just hard and dry.

What happened to them? Chicken thighs used in the skewers. Gross!!! They lost my business for good. Being cheap is not the answer.

The Bifteki was good but not as good as the sole. It was on the pricier side. 3 entrees, 1 app was over 120$. The interior and staff were great! Unfortunately, I don't think I will return.

Fast forward to 2026 and the other handful of gyro places have become boring and predictable and several have lost their pizazz all together. There is one we will never return to and the others, well, that's a story for another post. We ordered from Fontana's yesterday and we just had simple order of three gyros and a large order of fries. I can't even begin to tell you how good the gyros were. Tasty, juicy, perfect amount of sauce, AND... are you ready??? NORMAL bite size pieces of tomatoes and onions!!!!! The fries were still crispy upon being brought home (well some on top weren't, but that was condensations fault - yes they vented the lid, too)!!! I am so glad that we decided to go back to Fontana's again! Definitely will be our new gyro go-to place from now on. Looking forward to trying their pizza, too.
