Great food a little slow would go again Locally placed easy to order online as well

So, I was just passing by King Taco for the first time, and I'll admit, seeing a security guard by the door gave me a moment. like, did I just stumble into a taco speakeasy? But once I walked in and saw a sea of locals, I knew I was in a place with serious street cred. locals don't lie when it comes to tacos. The place is massive, with a huge seating area, and they cook your food right in front of you, which feels like a live cooking show, except instead of a standing ovation, you get a number called out. I ordered a quesadilla and a jamaica and both were excellent. The quesadilla was a steal at seven dollars and tasty enough to make me question why I ever paid more for less elsewhere. On the downside, the cleanliness needs a bit of a pep talk. imagine a giant place with potential, but it's like a giant that skipped a shower. Dirty tables and the floor. And let's talk about the wait, 20 minutes just to get a quesadilla and a drink. I mean, by that time, I had time to consider a second career in waiting. read more

The other people are correct. This location is very slow in their services with only a few people in line and plenty of employees in the back. They closed an order line while I was waiting in line. There was only one order line taking orders, but there are only a few customers. The line still took about half an hour. The two stars are for their slow service. The foods were ok. The taco's price is still reasonable, but they raised the price for tamales. I will not be back at this location again since a lot of people complain, so this is not a one time happening. Word of advice, don't pay for extra meat because you WON'T get extra meat lmao...ESPECIALLY if you're ordering a burrito, they know they can get away w putting less meat in there. I'd rather go down the street to Taco Nazo, and get a burrito there. The meat tastes just as good, if not, BETTER...AND they are not skimpy at all with their portions. Service is way better there too, they don't get enough credit. read more

Stopped by on Friday, 10/17/25. Surprisingly, I think this is my first time at King Taco! The line was pretty long as it there was a Dodger Game that day and people are lining up craving some post-game tacos! Ordered some tacos, burritos and tamales. OG spot and delicious never nutritious tacos for the gut! Service is quick and they take online orders. Had a bunch of different tacos from my favorite pastor to asada and lengua. My favorite today was the chicken tinga. You literally have to put nothing on the taco and it is so bomb! It's like being home again Nice space with happening vibe but the only thing that let me down is now nasty the restrooms were ... my kids even said something about it and they are usually oblivious to that type of stuff. I would avoid this location if you're on a lunch break and short on time. For some reason, service here always seems to be slow. On my most recent visit, I ordered five asada tacos, and the order took about 30 minutes to come out. The portion sizes and flavor were also not what I expected. I would recommend the location on Peck and Valley instead. In my experience, the service is faster, the restaurant is cleaner, and the overall experience is much better. read more

The food at king taco is always great! The reason for my 1 star is due to the service at this specific location. They are SO SLOW at taking the orders & serving them. & it's not just a one time thing, it's an all the time thing. Workers should be better trained to be able to work at a faster pace. Second in line when we get there, and still 32 mins we waited here for 2 quesadillas and a nacho which the lady gave 1 scoop of meat on the nachos, but the lady next to her gave the same amount for a sopas, like make it make sense. Some people hate it, and some people love it. I am one of those that do crave King taco at times and you can blame it on the salsa. The green and red salsa at king taco is so good. The price of food are a little pricier than your average street vendor but they do have some taste meat. My only wish is that the portions were a little biggger. Their tacos don't seem worth it at 2.50. I definitely like their quesadillas with meat and seems to be my go to every time i visit. Also, if you like nachos with liquid cheese, you can find that here too, and for a $1 more, get meat on it! read more

Iconic LA Hidden Gem Taco Spot My go to tacos here are the Al Pastor, Chicharron, Carnitas and Carne Asada tacos. The all meat burritos are good too if you get rice and beans you can really carb up here. They don't give you too much salsa it really depends how many tacos or burritos you get. Come with a big appetite to get those King's yummies in your tummy. The spicy salsa really is spicy enough like a caffeine boost. Green salsa is my favorite go. All salsas are delicious here it will make you feel like dancing like that spicy salsa. Don't forget to get that yummy Horchata or Jamaica drink too. The location feels a little ghetto. I placed a simple order--one burrito and three tacos--at 10:02 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded, yet it took 22 minutes to receive my food, which wasn't ready until 10:24 PM. I asked why it was taking so long, especially with five employees in the back and only one person visibly preparing food. A young man named Angel told me they were "backed up on orders." What made the experience worse was that after I questioned the delay, it felt intentional that one of the salsa containers was left open in the bag, which spilled and ruined my food. This is completely unacceptable. You can clearly see me holding the bag in front of the camera if management chooses to review the footage. One of those once in a blue moon experiences here where service was decent and wait time for food was not too long. I came in right before school pickup time at Wilkerson so the wait in line was not bad, I practically ordered right away and got my food in under 15 minutes. There's one lady who works here who's always so sweet, she's a shorter lady that always wears glasses--I always appreciate the service from her. Overall today was not a bad experience, I feel like I came at a good time (before 1:30pm) which is why the food came out so fast. They also have signs for online ordering , I asked about it and they said it's not setup quite yet but it will be coming in the near future. This place is a hit or miss no in between. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a little devastated with the amount of chicken I received. The cashier also marked us "for here" rather than "togo" after we said it was to go so when we were called up the employee prepping our food was annoyed thinking it was our fault. Our horchata was full of just ice we managed to get a couple sips and some horchata in the end that was diluted. -Very busy they have rushes throughout the day but the wait can be worth it. As much as today marks my second unpleasant experience it doesnt take away the fact how delicious their food is. -Staff is excellent theyre very friendly just need to tone down the attitude. -Store is clean theres never any crumbs on tables -The waiting to order is maybe 3 minutes if theres a small rush and 10 minutes if theres a big rush -The waiting for food can take a while so make sure youre not in a rush when ordering. -Staff tries their best to communicate with english speaking customers big props to them -Reminder to be patient with the employees as english isnt their first language! -Parking: Enough parking depending what time you arrive they have a parking on both entrances but it is in a shopping center so parking can be tight! read more

I suggest double checking your order because they did put extra rice instead extra onion and cilnatro in one of my burritos. You can't go wrong with the all meat asada burrito. When you order a regular burrito they don't give much meat. I also love the asada sopes. If you're like me and like to drench your food in salsa. Pay for an extra cup of chile verde or roja. Today was just lacking we got Nachos with carne asada and the cheese was lukewarm we are a 3 minute drive from the restaurant, the quesadilla with asada was not great tortilla was like a tostada. Came to king taco on a weekday at 6. I should've read the reviews here first, but I didn't think it was gonna be this slowww. I was in line for 30 mins and it took another 29 mins to receive my food: tamales, a burrito, and simple nachos. This wait was not worth it!! There really is one cashier, and as you're standing or sitting looking at the assembly line of people, there doesn't seem to be any haste or anything.... The nachos aren't great, and the burrito is okay. I love getting the tamales and green salsa here, but next time I'll know better. If there's more than 13 people in line, I'm turning right back around. It took an hour to order and get the food. Next time I'll just stop by one of the stands on the street instead. read more

Awesome spot for taco. The burrito is also only in the $10 range which is good when other spots have less for $10. I have been here for over 5+ years with friends and now they are also polite about allowing boba drinks into the business so people can get boba next door in the plaza and enjoy with the meal. The fresca drinks and soda are also good if south el monte boba is not a customer's first choice. With over 4+ new boba stores on Garvey and even a 7Leaves, it has made it more awesome to get tacos and boba- a combinational favorite of mine. read more
