came for a late night meal - if you consider 10 pm late night. ordered ------------------ 2 x carne asada tacos 1 x pork tamale 1 x carnitas burrito Everything was crazy dry... the carnitas burrito was ridiculously dry i had to turn that thing into a wet burrito to even eat it. Seriously, you dry out the pork the fatiest fucken meat ever. Carne asada was also dry. Good place to get your burrito cravings. They have the option to make your burrito all meat which is what I usually prefer. The customer service there is decent. For me not able to understand and speak Spanish is a little hard to order here just because they call your number in Spanish. Recently came here and ordered the lengua nachos with jalapeños and onions. When I got my order and went home I realized they never added the onions or jalapeños. My friend said you need to tell the person making your food to add those sides for you cause they usually forget. The atmosphere of this place is really sketchy. A security guard outside watching the store. Most of the times there are really weird people or beggars asking for money outside the door. Would not recommend coming here late at night alone due to that. read more

Haven't had king taco in over two years and I randomly thought of it one day, so around 10pm, jj and I went out or I should say I stayed in the car while he went in to get us some nachos, a burrito for me (no beans and sauce on the side) and tacos. Food was amazing as ushe, but this location seemed sketch to me just like the other location on peck rd. While sitting in the car, I witnessed an obnoxious driver hit the parked car next to me and immediately take off. I noticed that the security guy saw the incident and just ignored it, no big deal. The lines can be pretty long, but that means the place is good. The food is great, i highly recommend the burrito and the green sauce complement each other nicely. The red sauce and the nachos go really well together. The quesadilla is also really good. read more

Here I am again, lobby full of waiting customers. I arrived at 5:30 pm waited 34 minutes to order and have been waiting for over 30 minutes for food. The manager came out 10 minutes ago and pulled 30 tickets off of the register that closed down and added them to the prep line. Really?! Was more order in there? Will I ever get my food? Took a break for 20 minutes and I'm still here. People are complaining, the blue shirt manager doesn't care, ignores customers and does not help at all. This is the worst service ever! So now he line for the register is all the way to the back door, only one register open, and 4 people working really hard behind the counter. I feel bad for these employees. It is not fair to have to work this hard with no help. The Managment and owners must not care or ever visit this Restutant. It's a shame really. We will not come back here ever again. read more

All King Tacos are pretty consistent with their quality of food.. I usually get an all-meat carne asada burrito along with some lengua tacos.. That meal is usually good enough to put the hunger monster down.. Be sure to try their chile verde, it's delicious! read more

This King Taco is superior to the other locations because they are not nazi's about their sauces. Also their red and green sauce tastes better than say the Pico Rivera or Pasadena location. Maybe they have higher turn over or they make it fresh there? Who knows. I've seen the Pasadena location cut a plastic bladder of salsa and pour it into a container. Gross. Worst king taco ever. My bf went inside to order my food for me (while I waited in the car) with my debit card & ID & they wouldn't take his order because it wasn't me, it was him. Are you kidding me??? So my pregnant ass had to get off the car & go order my food which was only ONE sope. The place was not packed at all, only a few customers & they managed to take about 20 min to call my # for just ONE sope. Next time I'll just go to Karina's Tacos. I had the cabeza tacos: It lacked flavor and had tons of chewy bits. I've had better to say the least. The tamales are pretty good, I would get them again as a snack. The staff was as bland as my tacos and not helpful when requesting items such as crema (I don't mind paying extra for it). They let transients make their rounds begging for money and touching people. I personally am not a fan of being touched by a stranger while eating. The staff just gave them dirty looks but didn't say anything. My go to king taco. Always get the all meat burrito with extra onions and cilantro. Worth the extra $1 imo. The dryish flour tortilla is so good. No fat on the meat whatsoever with a slight citrus taste. Side of rice and beans are cheap at $1.50 each. Their salsa roja is mouth watering good. Complex flavors that could never be replicated. Og. I used to eat here regularly, but not after today. I'm finally calling it quits. I don't understand what it is about King Taco and their tight control over their salsas. Ok, so my number is called, I go to pick up at the window. They hand over my order...I have to ask for salsa because the woman didn't offer any. She asks me how many do you want, I tell her 5, she proceeds to tell me "you get one per every two Sopes (I ordered 6)", I say, "then why even bother to ask how many I want!". Stone faced, she hands over the three salsas, and goes on to call the next number. It's like pulling teeth, getting salsa from these people. Is it like a precious commodity or something? Maybe so because if you buy extra at .69 cents for the 2 ounce you get, convert that to gallons and you're looking at $49 per gallon...Wow, I should go into the salsa business. It's not just the salsa, I've also noticed over time that food has gone down in quality . The meats are chewier and greasier. The Asada tastes too much like lemon, the Carnitas are dry, even the Aguas Frescas taste like they are made from concentrate. The Al Pastor, is probably the only good thing here. Don't get me wrong, I'm relatively easy to please, but this place has become very disappointing. Really, judging by the volume of customers, I don't think this place is going to go broke anytime soon for giving extra salsa away. Another thing, smiles are free, they should give those away all day long. So I used to enjoy cooking here and the food is still good. However it's an annoyance not being able to get what I would like. Which is simply a side of carne asada! I know not a big deal, but it's irksome. Decide what price you want to charge and charge it but I do not understand the decision to not sell it to customers anymore. There are so many people trying to do keto and other diets and there are a number of taco trucks who would be more than happy to oblige me. I love King Taco but I don't live near one, so anytime I get an opportunity, I'm there. I was in South El Monte - a place I have never been - to check out a softball clothing sale. Lucky for me, a King Taco was right down the street. The first thing I noticed about the place was that it was the busiest restaurant around - good sign. Second was that the place was sparkling clean - another good sign. I ordered an al pastor burrito (all meat) and three carne asada tacos. Hmm, I just realized that this seems to be my "usual" whenever I go to a Mexican fast food place (see my review for La Playita). Sidebar - being half-Japanese, I get mistaken for Hispanic a lot. I mean twice a day a lot. I can't tell you how many times I've uttered the line, "I don't speak Spanish" to someone who just started speaking it to me, including the lady who took my order at King Taco. No big deal but that forced her to ask the follow-up question that appears to be given only to white people: "Are you SURE you want hot sauce?" The subtext here, for any of you folks who don't understand what I mean, is that the hot sauce is really fucking hot so don't order it if you can't handle your shit. If you do, be prepared for spicy, sinus-clearing goodness. As for the food, it's great. The al pastor is tender and full of flavor, as is the carne asada. You really can't go wrong at King Taco. King Taco's are all the same but this is my favorite one by far. The one in Pasadena on Arroyo Parkway has extremely rude people who work there that hate their jobs. The people here are much nicer & aren't as rude. The parking here isn't as bad either. It's in a plaza & there's always somewhere to park without having to fight for it. read more

Everytime you come here, you will always need extra sauce. They will give you one order of sauce per order. The sauce is what makes the food so good. But be warned they are stingy with their sauce! The food is OK here, but the service is poor. I ordered two tacos and when I went to pick them up, there was nothing but meat on the tortillas. I had to ask for onions and cilantros. Then, I had to ask for salsa. At any other taco place or taco truck, this wouldn't happen. I don't like to play the race card, but I got the distinct feeling that the staff thinks that white people don't eat Mexican food.
