This was my go to favorite place back in the 80's. I ordered an al pastor burrito with the hottest chili and it was pretty good. It's a popular place to eat despite all the other Mexican fast food restaurants plus street vendors that are in the area. Been a while and had a craving for it again. Hit this location at 11:30am and only 1 or 2 in line, so worked out perfect. After I had ordered, I saw the line had grown to at least half a dozen. So the magic time seems to be to get there before 11:30am. Got the usual all meat asada burrito. Still as good as always and the green salsa still makes my head drip sweat from the heat, yet cannot eat without it. Tortilla was kinda soaked looking, but didn't notice things being any greasier than before, so carne asada still my favorite. Also got all meat carnitas burrito to eat for dinner at home. Reconfirmed for myself that I always just prefer the carne asada personally. Just wanted to update the menu prices, since inflation hit King Taco as well of course. I haven't had King Taco in years. Decided to order some though Uber Eats to have it delivered to my home. I ordered two simple sopes, and three tacos. The sopes were for me one was supposed to be asada and the other Al pastor. Yet they made both asada didn't bother looking correctly at the order I had initially placed and paid for online. I had no issues with the uber eats driver who brought my order, but I did have a problem when I received the food and it was not the quality or what I had initially ordered. I called and a woman named Marta answered and when I told her the reason why I was calling she said " oh let me get the manager" waited and waited and waited on the line and no manager came to talk to me. I hung up and called back a few times and they didn't bother answering any of my calls I'm sure they saw it was me and ignored them! I will never ever order food from this location they have the worse customer service ever. If you want to pay a lot for a mediocre amount of meat they put on their food and also get your order wrong then this is the place to come. Not sure if I'll ever go to King Taco ever again, but definitely not this location where they don't care about the quality they prepare your food. I'm sticking to Tacos el Gavilan instead. this LA staple has been in business for the past 50 years and i can see why. my food was ready within 1-5 minutes of placing my order, and the prices i found to be reasonable. the tacos are a little small for my liking but the tortillas were so soft and the meat so tender. both green and red salsas were spicy, with the red salsa being spicier than the green salsa. highly recommend trying out the tamarindo agua fresca. one thing that i found to be disappointing is the fact they do not offer limes at all, which in my opinion helps bring out the flavors. read more

Had to wait 15 minutes just to get my nachos while they went ahead 5 orders and then I literally see the guy on the line at 2:45pm give more meat to the girl who had barely just ordered, and then barely put anything on my nachos. Terrible service. You have to wait 15 minutes to order food and another 20 mins for the food to be prepared. Even though it's just tacos and Sopes. They are calling numbers 94,95 and 96 and we are still waiting for 74,75 and 76. There are 20 people in line now and only 1 lady to take orders and 2 people to prepare the food. The food isn't worth the wait. And with Sopes almost $5 each the cost isn't worth it either. Will not be back to this location. read more

Overall.... Disappointing. This King Taco place is an embarrassment to all the other locations. The one in Lynwood is way better. The one in E.LA is also good. This one dropped the ball from the very beginning with jacking up my order and making it seem like it was I that took it wrong. Then on top of that the cashier got an attitude. Then they still messed up my order when I received it. The asada meat was not drained so it was like a soup taco. The tortillas weren't soft, more like tostadas. The ladies who prep your food do it efficiently with quick, deft handiwork. Note: The red sauce is spicy hot! The menu is simple and straightforward, but there are a few authentic and interesting items like the Mole Tamales and the chicarrones (pork skins) tacos. I ordered the sopa and a few al pastor to go. So my coworkers really pumped this place. I absolutely love me some Spanish food. You might can tell from my previous reviews at different locations. I came here with high hopes and an open wallet and left with pure disappointment and would never come here again. My mom asked for nachos with extra cheese on the side. She wanted the nachos with meat and jalapenos. I ordered chicken tacos, a chicken burrito and Al pastor tacos. My mom had noticed that the carton that the nachos were in was quite heavy. Only to open it and find that it was flooded with cheese and hardly any toppings. There was not a dry chip on the plate. They seriously overdid it. The chicken tacos taste dry and the Al pastor tacos lacked taste. While they were fixing the orders (as you see on the receipt we were number 147) they were calling orders out in random number. One minute they were calling order number 136 and then the next minute 149 and then just when we thought we might be next they were calling order 134. This place in my opinion was chaotic and disorderly. I didn't enjoy my experience here. And they are too far for the food to be a huge disappointment. They can count on me to never return! read more

I usually go to this King Taco place, but this time, it would be the last time I'm coming here. This new employee (African American) gave me a dirty look from the start. I ordered 6 tacos w/ onions on the side and Nacho Cheese (Cheese on the side). She had this look, "what the hell are you doing here" kind of look and she handed my food. I looked in side the bag and I realized that she forgot to put onion that i asked for on the side, and she didn't even put hot sauce, so I told her about it. She said "you have to pay!" I had to explain to the other nicer employee and she had to tell her to put them in the bag. I came to my office to eat, and as soon as I opened the foil, I could only see 5 tacos which I ordered 6....and tacos had too much oil that it was leaking all inside the bag. It was disgusting, and humiliating, and upsetting experience I ever had. I don't care about 1 taco they forgot, but how they treat customer lost one more good customer.
