Broccoli was not charred but burned and extremely difficult to bite through. The mac and cheese was an offense against nature. It was a pale brownish white with a strange sweet flavor. The pasta was mush. The worst part, though, were the proteins. Salmon was incredibly bland and overcooked. Chicken was not much better. I won't be back.

Unfortunately, the way the situation with the tip was handled completely changed our impression of the restaurant. From the beginning, one server helped us choose our main dishes, took our order, and brought our food. After we finished our first appetizer, the forks were taken away with the plates. We then asked for new forks for the next course. After we finished our second appetizer, the forks were taken away again, but new ones were not brought to the table. We had to ask for forks again and wait for them. I understand that the restaurant was busy and that the staff had other tables to take care of, but having to ask twice for basic utensils during the same meal was frustrating. Several different employees were also involved in serving our table. One person took our order and brought the main dishes, another employee brought us the forks and helped clear the dishes, and a third employee took my friend's dessert order. When we finished, we paid our bill and left the restaurant. We were already sitting in our car when a man from the restaurant came running after us with our receipt and asked why we had not left a tip. I explained that I genuinely did not understand who I was supposed to tip because several different people had served us throughout the meal. I took $10 out of my wallet and gave it to him, but he told me that $10 was not enough for an order like ours. He then explained that the server "lives off tips" and does not have a stable salary. I completely understand that servers depend on tips, and I have no problem tipping good service. However, I don't think it is appropriate to chase customers into the parking lot after they have paid and then tell them that the tip they offered is not enough. If several employees are serving the same table, the restaurant should have a clear system for handling tips. A customer should not have to figure out which employee is supposed to receive the tip, and they certainly should not be pressured after leaving the restaurant. Again, the food was good, but this experience at the end completely ruined what could have been a nice dinner. If La Voglia considers itself a professional restaurant, I believe this is something management should seriously address with the staff.

I lived in Maryland for 30 years and had crab bisque many, many times. This was the first crab bisque that wasn't tomato based - it was a brownish, creamy version. I might have been fine with the 'creamy version', but it lacked any crab flavor and had no crab in it - not one shred. I've never had any fish soup that had no fish in it. The Seared Branzino was okay - there were bites where I had a very fishy taste - and it was a very small piece of fish. My partner's Shrimp and Scallops came with steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. The Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly - they were in a delicious sauce and had a very nice sear. We came on a Friday night and there were only 2 servers who were also manning the bar and taking care of takeout orders. They give you tokens for the claw machine when you get your check which is nice. Not sure if this is an everyday thing or a promo. We unfortunately didn't win anything from the machine.
