I really wanted to try this place since I go to the local bowling alley quite often! $15.99/lb, pay after you finish eating. The set up was super convenient! Everything was tasty and the setup was really efficient. My only complaint is that the vermicelli noodles are all the way at the end of the line, which was a bit inconvenient. I got the miso base and my friend got the mala spicy--both were great. Overall, chill vibes and a solid spot!

I like how for their malatang soup base you can adjust the spiciness. The broth itself is very flavorful to a point where you dont even need to dip your food in other sauces. I wish they had a bit more selection for meat. But other than that it was good. You can add a homemade lemonade for $1.49 which was pretty good as well. Definitely will be back

Very pleasant experience. Went on a Friday around 6:30 PM. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a waitlist where you write down your name and number. The young woman working immediately acknowledged us before we even finished writing our info down and asked how many were in our party. We said two, and she told us to go ahead and start building our bowls. The concept is pretty cool and very straightforward. You grab a bowl and tongs, then walk through the different sections choosing your ingredients. They had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. Pricing is by weight at $15.99/lb. Once you finish building your bowl, you head to the cashier where they weigh it and you choose your broth and spice level. The broth selection was surprisingly huge, around 15 options if I remember correctly. I got the Tom Yum broth mild spice, and my girlfriend got the Organic Miso mild spice. We also added jasmine green tea and white rice for $1.99 each. After ordering, they give you a table number and you can head over to the self-serve sauce station while your food is being prepared. The sauce bar had ponzu, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, Tabasco, scallions, cilantro, red onion, satay sauce, shallots, minced garlic, chili powder, chili oil, and more. The soups came out quickly and were served over a live flame at the table, which was a nice touch. Both broths were excellent. Even at mild spice, there was still a pleasant kick. The broth itself had good body and flavor and didn't taste watery at all. Service was also great. The server checked on us consistently, kept drinks refilled, and was attentive without hovering. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe around 8 tables, but it felt cozy rather than cramped. Nice interior, comfortable temperature, clean setup, and the vibe was relaxing. They were playing bossa nova versions of 2000s and modern hits which honestly fit the atmosphere perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Great value, fun experience, and genuinely good hot pot.

Rebecca was our waiter and she was very sweet. The Malatang style is really good! I think sukiyaki broth was a bit too sweet than when I got it before. Overall definitely will come again!

Solo Hot Pot is a small hidden hot pot place located in Diamond Bar. In the same plaza as the local bowling alley of Oak Tree Lanes. Plenty of parking and this place makes some delicious deep-fried chicken wings with tasty hot pots! This is pretty much a customized hotpot that they say does not contain msg! I love love the tomato broth and you can pick one protein, six varieties of vegetables, and also a carb. Service was good and this place actually tastes good.

First time trying Solo Hot Pot. The broths were flavorful and the selection of ingredients were well balanced.

If you are looking for a great hotpot spot in the Diamond Bar and Walnut area, you should visit Solo Hot Pot. It is located right off the 60 and 57 freeways. It is in a strip mall, so there is always -plenty of parking. The inside is clean, cozy, and very relaxing. The food is delicious and the prices are very fair. They have a big selection of fresh items to pick from. Make sure to add the meatballs to your soup-they taste amazing with the broth! The staff is also very friendly and takes great care of you. You will really enjoy a meal here. Drive over and try it right now!

Location: Diamond Bar Blvd, inside a quiet strip mall plaza (plenty of parking). South of Temple Ave and North of the 60 freeway off of diamond bar blvd exit. Seating: Around 8-9 tables, good for small groups or solo diners. ‍ Service: Only one staff member working when I went, but she was friendly and attentive. Hotpot Style: a little different from the other solo pot restaurant. Each person gets their own pot. You choose your meats & ingredients, then cook them yourself--no overcooked food, no broth boiling over. I liked this style a lot. Overall: Chill weekday vibe, quiet atmosphere ( not sure if its a slow time or the area is naturally quiet) , and a solid 3.5-4 experience. Great spot if you enjoy solo hotpot without the rush.

My new favorite hot pot spot! I've been here 3 times already and every visit has been consistently amazing. What sets Solo Hot Pot apart is the customization and clean, flavorful broths that don't leave you feeling heavy or overly thirsty. I genuinely appreciate that the soup tastes rich and satisfying without that MSG aftertaste. The ingredient quality is top-notch--everything feels fresh, and I love how thoughtfully they prep the veggies. Like the pumpkin slices: most places leave the tough skin on, but here they remove it so every bite is tender and delicious. That kind of attention to detail really shows. The tomato soup is my go-to--comforting and packed with flavor. I've also tried the tom yum and was shocked by how much it tasted like the real deal from a Thai restaurant. Super bold and tangy, in the best way. Their fried chicken and fried oysters are on point and come out nice and hot! If you love hot pot but want a healthier, fully customizable option, Solo Hot Pot is absolutely worth checking out!

Came here right before our bowling rsvp. We were gonna go to another restaurant, but they kept delaying our place, so we no longer wanted to wait anymore. They have a long list of menu of all the broth, ingredients and condiments to make your own Malatang or hot pot. We were a bit overwhelmed, but we just went with it. They didn't tell us that for shared plate they would charge extra until we saw it ourselves on our bill. The food came out pretty fast and already cooked. So it's like boiling point, kind of, but lighter broth flavor. The interior is cute and they have wood divider between tables.

New year, new menu. They now use a self serve/per pound concept

Food is always delicious. Fair warning, their medium spice level is very very spicy. Mild is similar to medium at most other Asian restaurants. As of 2026, they changed to a self serve, by weight concept. For the same price, You definitely get less food now.

Miso broth is yummy with shrimp and vegetables.
    Briseis L.

Cute little place with yummy food, and service along with great prices. Had the miso soup and the 1.49 lemonade that was not too sweet. Recommend either solo or with a crowd as this place is laid back with delicious food to boot.

Came here once on a solo date and absolutely fell in love! I went back on another solo date and just as good as the first time. They charge by weight and you pay at the end. The self serve station begins as soon as you walk in and you work your way up through the selections to the register. It's a small little hole in the wall spot next to the bowling alley, most definitely worth trying! Plus, they're open late which is a plus when craving hot pot late at night like me!

On Yelp it's called "Pot Pot" but inside and the menu calls it "Pot Pot & Tea"…read more Essentially, this place is a Taiwanese hotpot similar to Boiling Point. You pick a pot of food, it comes out on a burner, and then you eat it while it's cooking on a small fire. When I first saw the menu prices online, I thought there was a surcharge because it was online but when I actually arrived, the prices online were correct. In essence, it's like a more expensive version of Boiling Point. I got the Beef Hot Soup Pot and it was 23.99 for dinner, which is more expensive compared to Boiling Point which is less than 20 before tax. So it's costing more than BP. There are other pots on the menu too which is about the same price as BP which is like 20 bucks. I was kinda surprised that the ingredients were pretty much like for like in terms of what is inside it. In terms of taste, it's similar to BP as well, I feel the pot here is a bit bigger but I felt like I was eating a lot of cabbage. I don't think there was more beef/meat. They also have the bean sauce (which is my favorite), but it's a little bit saltier here. Service here is okay. The employees don't really walk around to check on you. They mostly stay in the front counter huddled together. I struggled to get a water refill until the very end when I got my check. The interior is pretty big, the parking lot wasn't packed when I arrived and there was plenty of parking spaces. Restaurant was a bit empty during peak dinner time. Overall, my impression of this place is that it's a more expensive version of Boiling Point which makes it just okay in my book. If you are craving BP and don't want to wait for those lines, this is the next best thing but I feel like the beef pot shouldn't cost 3 dollars more than BP. After tax and tip you're pushing like 30 dollars for a Beef Pot.

Considering how hot the weather already was outside, there did not seem to be adequate air conditioning or enough fans to keep the dining area at a comfortable temperature. We tried to communicate our concerns to the staff, but they were not helpful. Instead, we felt rushed to pay the bill, and the way they handled our concerns felt dismissive rather than genuinely trying to resolve the situation. What concerned us even more was that the excessive heat appeared to affect the food itself. The raw meat warmed up very quickly, became extremely soft, and released a significant amount of reddish liquid onto the plates. It no longer looked properly chilled or appetizing. Given how hot it was inside, we were genuinely concerned about whether the raw meat was being kept at a safe temperature. We ordered three plates of meat but ended up barely touching them because we simply did not feel comfortable eating them. Cleanliness was another major concern. Some of the bowls did not appear to have been properly cleaned and still had visible food residue from previous customers. There were also unpleasant odors around the condiment and beverage areas, which made the overall environment even more uncomfortable. At one point, it became so hot that we genuinely felt like we might suffer from heat exhaustion. In a restaurant serving raw meat, proper temperature control, cleanliness, and a safe dining environment should be basic priorities. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. Even if the price may seem affordable, it is simply not worth saving a few dollars when the dining environment, cleanliness, food quality, and customer service are this concerning. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Since it was my very first time experiencing hot pot, I wanted to go all out and try a bit of everything. While waiting for our main meat cuts to arrive at the table, we checked out the self serve area. Their savory Japanese curry is mouthwatering, and they had a cold noodle dish that was super tasty. I had to exert some serious self control not to fill up on the curry before the main event, but it was just so good. Once the meats arrived, my sister showed me how to cook them in the bubbling hot pot. Every single broth had its own unique, rich flavor profile, and every single one was delicious. The quality of the meat here is premium grade, and the marbling on the Wagyu beef was absolutely outstanding. Lots of memories with friends, family, and a lot of people who aren't a part of my life now, either sadly or good riddance wise. It's located on the second floor of the business plaza building. Sometimes there's a wait, but I've never had to wait for too long, even for their lunch or their dinner hours. Many changes have been made since the last time I've been there I'm sure (of course rising prices due to the capitalist hellscape we live in), but it's still the same. Paper pot shabu. Unique and eye catching. Since its inception, I don't think I've seen any other place do it like this. It's like a metal base that gets heated up, a basket exterior gives the shape to the "bowl" and the paper helps hold all of the soup in. I'm sure that it makes for easier clean up, hopefully. My go to has always been the "Spicy Yaki" broth since it both has a decent king and some sweet umami flavor to it. Nothing spicier than Shin Ramyun noodles if that's a good indicator of heat level. Love the little grinding of the sesame seeds at the start for the sesame sauce. It's crazy that I did that at a shabu shabu place first and not a katsu place. Trendsetters. Not sure if they still have it with the new/digital menu, but my friends and I always got the "WOW" add on for an extra $3 and it comes with sausages, dumplings, ramen, fish and rice cake, and kamaboko. With all of this, the mixed veggies, udon, serving of rice, and your protein, it's quite filling. I usually get lamb or beef. Today, my coworkers finally persuaded me to give it a try since the weather is cooler & I feel very silly now. The exterior and interior decor of this place is on point with the bold red and lanterns. It really sets the mood. Service was exceptional during lunch (wasn't too busy). The staff helped change out dirty plates often. Everything was clean. They were helpful in explaining the AYCE menu. The only problem I experienced is how slow the virtual menu was to load and long buffers between each click. At one point it stopped working to reorder so the waitress had to do it manually anyway. We got the half tomato (light spice) and half spicy soup (mild) base and both were really good! I might upgrade to med next time. The meat quality was great, esp the 1 wagyu plate per person that comes with AYCE. Surprisingly the fatty beef was so tender as well. Even the mala beef didn't hurt going in...or out. The bellflower veggie is a must try. Never had this crunchy vegetable before. Love the self serve bar with so many desserts and Chinese chips options.
