loved this! little cute ambiance of the bakery, warm and felt cozy. the lady working was really sweet and even offered free candy ans was telling us about the store that was opening inside, such a sweetheart. and the food? so delicious. we got the cream puff and the napoleon cake, delish! i loved it very much, perfect sweetness.

Came in an hour before closing on my birthday and got the Opera Honey Cake and the Chocolate Creme Brulee cake. They were $6 each. Overall, I wasn't terribly impressed by either, but I'm not sure if this was because we came in close to closing, and the cakes may have been sitting for a while? I liked the Opera Honey Cake the most, as the honey flavor was distinct and complemented the cake well.

The cake I ordered was not only beautiful, but the best cake I've ever had. The cake itself was delicious and moist and the frosting was amazing. Great chocolate flavor and it melted in your mouth. The adults agreed the cake tasted spectacular. The kids just devoured huge hunks of cake. I purchased some kolaches while I was picking up the cake. They were not overly sweet like the usual kolaches. The cream cheese filling had a delicate flavor. The bread and cream cheese had such a great texture. I'm sold. I will definitely be back...after I lose the weight I gained from splurging on the cake and kolaches.

This is by far the best bakery/place to get individual tarts or larger multilayered cakes in Katy. The desserts are not overly sweet as at Oh La La or Delices de Maurice but have amazing and complex flavors. Many options to choose from. And if you are from Europe, you can appreciate it even more. Plus, the owner baker is a woman and it is nice to support a small business.

Really wanted and needed a late night snack so we decided on this place. We ordered the red velvet, strawberry, and creme brûlée. The strawberry was my favorite! It was just the amount of sweet, but not overly sweet at all. The strawberry flavor was great! The creme brûlée just tasted like chocolate cake, I would not order this again. The red velvet was good, but but the best red velvet. I'm pretty critical on red velvet, so taste it for yourself. I would say that I would order the red velvet and strawberry again, but not the creme brûlée.

Loved this family-run bakery in Katy. I tried the honey cake, the strawberry cream cheese kolache, and the spinach kolache. Everything was delicious! The honey cake was my favorite! It was not too sweet, and the layers of cake and cream were perfect. It didn't feel heavy, and I honestly could have eaten the whole thing in one sitting. The kolaches were so fresh. The cream cheese was homemade and paired well with the strawberries. Also kolaches are half off after 4 pm! Can't wait to come back and try more cakes and pastries.

Cake was ok, over priced. I called during the week to ask if they had any small cakes ready or if I could order a small one short notice. Just for 10 people, I was told it was not a problem at all for a small cake. They could make one easily later in the week. I should have gone to either HEB or Nothing Bundt Cakes because they have small cakes ready to go. NBCs has 8" starting at $29 and will go to $36 if you had a flower. I was shocked that my 8" here was $120. I was told they had to charge extra because it was a 4 day notice BUT that's why I called, if there was going to be extra charges then I wouldn't have gone. Because I wanted two flowers added, that was $27 add on and I saw a design they had with lines/presses in the fondant (see photo) that was another $30 add on. Cake itself was $58. Cake was alright, nothing special in my opinion. Definitely not worth $120. I didn't know all the add ons until after I paid. I added a cake topper to it that I bought. I could have gone to HEB and bought two roses for less than $27. If you need a small cake and you need it within a week: Nothing Bundt Cakes.

If only they were as good as they looked. We tried their mini cakes. More of a cupcake as such. The shop is small and clean but we tried 3 different. Including their Honey Cake which was recommended and all were dry and just lacked flavor. I was really hoping to find a hidden gem but was not that fortunate. But the icing on the cake, pun intended, was when I went to use my yelp discount coupon they said they would apply it. After it was marked as used they wanted to see it again and obviously it was gone and I couldn't recheck in. They then said no problem they would just charge me a cheaper amount. Since my order was to go I did not check the receipt till later to notice that they still charged the regular price for all mini cakes. It's not about the money, just about doing what you had said you would do.

We love this place!! No matter the weather or any other crazy situation out there the owners Olga and David are always willing to go the extra mile to take care of your food/dessert cravings. From the delicious Crape Omelette's, our favorite Sausage, Spinach and Cheese crape. They are always delicious and simply perfect! A very nice size good enough to share and let's not forget super tasty. Everything from the Crunchy yet soft Savory Kolache's to the Sweet and Smooth bites of their Sweet Kolache's. Whichever way you go you will not be sorry. When you are in the mood for a bigger bite. Their cakes are a must try. We have order their cakes in several occasions to celebrate our girls birthday or to simply bring a lovely cake to a dinner party. They are always a hit with out friends. They are sweet but not overwhelming sweet as all their ingredients are homemade. Real cacao, real cream cheese and berries. You won't find the common synthetic syrups that most bakery use. This is what makes them different from others. We love supporting this small family business.

Due to the good reviews I went here tonight around 6:50 pm before they closed at 7. I bought 4 mini cakes, one honey, One chocolate muse (or similar name) and 2 of the red velvet. I have to say that all of them lacked flavor, this taste more like French style that tends to be very light but even the texture was just subpar. This was a little surprise for my wife as she loves cakes but we were both dissatisfied with flavor and texture, really nothing special here. Unfortunately, the only good thing is that now I know I don't have to go back. read more

I was very disappointed in the establishment not having a secure method of electronic payment... instead they want to take your payment info over. the phone which not the most secure method of payment especially in this day and age when Identity theft is on the rise. So when I reached out to the establishment, in order to inquire about other payment options... I was then told that the order could not be placed, because the kitchen staff was leaving for the day. This type of business practice does not promote good customer relations... very uncooperative... in other words take it or leave it! I read your reply, but unfortunately first impressions are the start of gaining first time customers let alone the quality of the product and service. Now after reading a few negative reviews I am glad that we weren't able to conclude business as I've read other reviews that have complained about the quality of the product and service to be subpar e.g. dry and lack of flavor... at least I only walked away with the dissatisfaction of the first impression of not doing business and not the added dissatisfaction of the quality of the product and service. In the future I will not recommend your establishment to family and friends alike... Good Luck! read more

The honey cake was a success! My wife loved it and it was delicious! I'm glad they don't standardly sell it any bigger because I don't know that my pancreas could honestly deal with that much rich, deliciously sweet goodness. Fair warning though, you MUST love honey. How it went down: I called in to get a cake for my wife's birthday and was greeted by the owner/co-owner (?‍?) of the shop. He was very nice and aimed to satisfy, so he answered every question I had and then some. I tell him I'm coming in within 30 mins or so. I make my way over and I'm greeted by their employee who started to show me a cake (he thought I was someone else) and so proceeded to realize I wasn't the guy he thought I was and so he told me I could wait while he finished up with his customers. I did, he wrapped up and he asked if I wanted a coffee or something. So I ordered an iced latte and I waited a good 15-20 mins to actually be helped (this was the part I wasn't really a fan of, but it had more to do with the employee's disorganized nature than with the bakery's main line baked goods or cakes). Finally, the main man gets out of the back office and he gives me some ultra personalized attention and focus. He pulls out cake for me to try (the chocolate cake tasted stale, but the honey cake was dope AF). I was set to jet and so decided on getting the honey cake and was on my way out the door shortly there after. Took some Kolache, sampled a sweet kolach and took a mini chocolate mousse cake on my way out, too. The Kolache were aight (strong eastern European flavor, particularly with the heavy corriandor and other spices of that sort) and the bread wasn't the best I've tried, but it's far from terrible. The sweet Kolach was delicious. The chocolate mousse wasn't really up my alley, but my wife enjoyed it. All in all, I'd check em out for their honey cake, sweet Kolache and coffee. Those 3 were on point and are worth your time alone. Everything else is just bonus. read more

This is one of the friendliest, most customer service-oriented businesses I've ever been to. Owned and run by a second generation Czechoslovakian family, Kingdom Bakery offers a variety of delicious baked goods (particularly their cakes), coffee and shakes, and other typical bakery fare. I came here last month looking for something to bring to a work Christmas party, and settled on the honey cream dulce de leche-style cake (it was sumptuous). I was also treated to a complimentary cup of coffee and some kolaches leftover from that morning (still tasty). Would highly recommend this local business to anyone. read more

Having found it on Google with only a third hand reference from family, we dropped in to look at cakes for my mom's birthday. What a great surprise. They had one that fit exactly what we wanted. And, as we talked to the owner and waited for a "Happy Birthday" message to be added, he surprised us with a hot potato kolache to try. The filling was moist with a fabulous dill and savory taste explosion. In addition, the cake and a flourless orange mousse ball were a big hit at home. We also got some macaroons that I can't wait to try tomorrow. The owners also run the shop and do all the cooking and baking. It's clear that they really care about quality and want everyone to have a great experience. What a great find! read more

Their cake style is FRENCH, so the flavor is wonderful and it's not too sweet which is EXACTLY what we were looking for. We did a custom 3-flavor, 4-tier cake. What a fun little place. I saw them mentioned on a foodie FB page so decided to make the trip and it was absolutely worth it. They have kolaches, pastries, cakes and most importantly- crepes! The staff is pretty young but really sweet and friendly. They helped me decide what to order and got right on it. I had a Nutella crepe and a cafe mocha. I wasn't expecting much out of the coffee but I was pleasantly surprised. It was amazing. It's pretty small, only a few tables so not good for a large group but super cute and cozy. read more

I was really craving sweet crepes and found this place. I ordered the strawberry and Nutella crepe and it was delicious . I've been here a few times and it's always good. Haven't gotten a sloppy or lacking crepe yet. The last visit was the best. They really stuffed my crepe good. I got Nutella strawberry and blueberry. They drizzled chocolate on it and gave me a side of Nutella. I was in heaven and stuffed. I also got a red velvet mousse which I split with hubby. It was really good too. read more

David was very accommodating and has good customer service. He responds to my emails and texts very quickly. They tried their best to follow the picture I showed them. They offer delivery depending how far your address is from the bakery. I did a cake tasting that actually made me full. I ordered a carrot cake with pecans for my daughter's baptism. It's very moist and light. It's especially not too sweet. I'm not sure which weekday it is but they sell kolaches half price. They make very large kolaches that I had to cut it in half and share it with a friend. My husband liked the mushrooms and potatoes kolaches. I like the spinach and feta cheese. Deserving of a 5 star review. Kolaches are unique, the dough is soft and very fresh. Heated to the perfect temperature. The young lady behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Top notch experience with David. He has the most amazing sweet treats to satisfy anyone with cravings or simply planning a special celebration. Established in 2012.

Originally started as a catering company Kingdom Bakery gained great amount of satisfied customers throughout the years. As a result we expanded our service and opened a storefront Bakery. Our mission is to introduce authentic recipes to general public. Everything is made from the scratch by our very own chief Olga. Olga is a professional pastry chef with a great experience on fondant, butter cream custom cakes. Proudly serving Katy area.

Meet the Business Owner: Olga R.

Many Czech families had their own secret kolache recipes handed down from generation to generation, mothers and grandmothers assiduously instructing the young girls. Our chef origins are from the old Prague. The recipe book of original Czech kolache and cakes, that handed from mothers to daughters was gifted to Olga. As professional chef Olga has been able to use her experience in creating the great menu. With overwhelming support from Olga's family and friends, she opened Kingdom Bakery bringing the unique Eastern Europe products to Katy and Houston.

We probably spent about a good 1/2 hour here looking and seeing what we wanted to purchase. In the end, I found 4 items that seemed to be the best items to purchase. Anything chocolate and pastry like was the best choice for me. The prices here were decent and moderately priced at around $3.25 average per item. I also gotten a strawberry banana smoothie to go as well. For the most part though, the experience here at this 85 C Bakery here in Katy is almost the same as in my hometown of Honolulu, where we have 85 C Bakery there too. The bakery itself is rather small but has everything you'd like from an Asian style bakery. Felt pretty good and nice to have the Asian influence in South Texas when you are away from home. Not sure if there is regional public transportation system here in Katy, but probably best to have your own ride, a rental, or friends who are willing to take you around town. Then there's always Uber or a lift who can take you on command, but it does cost money for you to do so. With that said, 85C bakery here in Katy, Texas, where a lot of happiness is these days, is the place to be where you want to have snacks at your convenience. I'd been here about a year ago and remembered having some nice pastries, and I might've even taken home some sourdough bread at that time. But recently (2025), a few videos have been cropping up online, and, when I saw that they are making a panettone, I took the opportunity with this trip out to Katy to pop in and sample one. It turns out they have a small portion for $10 and then the large one is $45. It had some nice chocolate flavor bits, but, in my opinion, was not one that I would look forward to having again (dry). I suspect one would want to steam it to reconstitute some moistness. Too much work for me. Especially at a $45 price point for the large one. Since it was lunchtime I decided to also sample one of their pizzas which I had also seen in a video, looking authentically VPN, with a puffy, inflated rim with lots of big air bubbles and gelatinization. Some videos follow, showing the guy shaping and stretching the dough by hand. My concern was, watching him, that the pizza dough was having every bit of air and bubbles beaten out of it by his technique. Additionally, it looked like with all the flour he was putting on it, that it was going to lose a lot of the dough hydration ( good hydration, that can result in a truly spectacular pizza). A much wetter dough is what I hoped for. What I was observing was one similar to the underwhelming ones at Coppa Osteria. I've spent a lot of time in Italy. I've had a lot of pizze. I've even had some good ones here in greater Houston. And I've even had some pinsa here, thanks to a good friend who makes a spectacular Roman style pinsa. So I knew that I had to try the pizza today and evaluate it. There were a few bubbles but, as suspected, they'd beaten all the air out. It was not a great pizza dough. But it did have chew and some flexibility. It wasnt a dry, matzoh cracker crust. The sauce was tasty but pretty salty for my personal tastes. But others might not find it so. You might ask, well, why didn't you talk to them and have them make it right for you? But you see, the thing is I wanted to see how it comes out of the kitchen, what the kitchen staff says "this is perfect and we are satisfied with this product that we're putting out". For me it's more important to know what the kitchen feels is a good product to sell. And then again you get into the question of authenticity versus did I like the taste of it?. Perhaps in Venezuela this is the style of pizza that has evolved. And if this is authentically prepared as it would be in a Venezuelan restaurant in Venezuela, then I cannot criticize it for authenticity, and I can only say that for my personal taste, it was not enjoyable. Authenticity always over rides personal taste.

Although this was our second time coming to this bakery IT WILL BE OUR LAST! Our experience this time was completely unsatisfactory and we will not be giving our hard earned money to Lucy love bakery again. On the day of pickup my husband picked up the cake, the manager did not give him a top for the cake. After my husband asked her multiple times for something that should have already been given to him the manager responded with "are you special needs or something, I don't have a top for the box!" After speaking with her for a little longer she was finally able to find a top for the box. That was the first thing about this situation that her customer service was unsatisfactory. The second, when looking at pictures of the cake we noticed that the back of the cake was not finished. When I called to express my concern she already knew what she did wrong and explained to me she did not have the correct materials to fulfill our cake order so she decided to not finish the back of the cake but in turn expected us to fulfill our payment. After being hung up on. I called the next day to ask for a partial refund since my order was partially done. At first she offered $10 worth of pastries. I explained to her I wanted a partial refund and she refused. After talking to her and expressing to her I would prefer a partial refund, she became angry with me and was very rude because she did not feel like I deserved any money back she felt as though the cake still looked good even though she purposely did not fulfill her end of the agreement and gave us a cake that was not finished and was never going to say anything about it to us when we picked up the cake. The manager is extremely disrespectful, very rude, short tempered, and does not fulfill the agreement of your order but expects you to pay full price for half the work. WE WILL NOT be coming back to lucy love bakery because of our terrible, rude, and disrespectful experience we had and I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU STAY AWAY AS WELL!! read more

We ordered a custom groom's cake from Kingdom Bakery. In designing the cake, David was extremely helpful! He allowed us to come in and meet according to our schedule even though it was close to their closing time. He worked with us tirelessly until we had the perfect design, which was no small feat! Between Pintrest pictures and our imaginations and a lot of patience, the creation took form. David was also very sensitive to our budget and worked a great deal to get exactly what we wanted with exactly what we could afford! I have NEVER NEVER had such FANTASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE anywhere! He genuinely cared about giving us the best possible service! When the cake was delivered, it was so moist and delicious!!! We had searched around to find a good tasting carrot cake and he delivered!!!!! The design was EXACTLY what we had envisioned and more!
