Bought a used vehicle. What should have been an in-and-out transaction turned into me waiting for hours until a sales manager came to sign the appropriate docs. I'm usually patient but, this was kind of obnoxious since they had taken my money but, were now barring my exit until this person came from home. I few days ago I had 2 front rotors and a set of brake pads done for the front wheels of my car as well as an oil change and an engine air filter installed at Kingdom Chevrolet. Needless to say it was a professional job well done. I waited 3 days and said to myself why not have the rear wheels rotors and brakes replaced as well. So I went back today to have the rear wheels done the same as the front wheels. Nevertheless kingdom performed another professional seamless job. I get the dealership is known to charge more, but you get what you pay for. I took my car in for front brakes. The service consultant found other problems. Instead of explaining the issues the service guy told me that the technician declined to fix the car, was too expensive to repair and to pick it up. I'm convinced that the service department only knows how to fix tires and perform oil changes, anything else is too complicated. I purchased a 2008 Chevy HHR with 76k miles from kingdom Chevy. The most important aspect of that purchase was Mike. He was 100% honest, even telling me not to get other vehicles I had inquired about because they had mechanical issues. The HHR I did purchase had a check engine light on and I advised I want to know why, Mike made sure they took me across the street to auto zone where the diagnosis shown it was an o2 sensor...which cost only $48 to fix. I knew this because I called a mechanic friend and gave him the code. I have stayed in contact with Mike since I knew I would be purchasing 2 more vehicles in the future. I purchased a used 2009 Chevy Silverado Hbyrid. 10 miles out the lot the "no oil pressure" sensor came on. Took the truck back the same day. Told me I would have to wait until Monday for service to look at it. Long story short. They told me I was SOL, they had a mechanic shop they could recommend so I would have to pay union pricing. I left their GM Kevin multiple voice mails and emails. Never got a call or message back. So far I've put 2k in repairs. Only have about another 1.5k to go. My fiance responded to an online offer for a used car at Kingdom Chevy on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday she was emailed an offer. She replied back stating she would be in on Monday morning to possibly purchase the car at stated price. When we arrived at the dealership 9am on Monday morning we were told by a salesman the car was sold. When Mike, who stated he was the manager, came to speak with us he first said the car was sold but quickly changed the story to it needing work and having to be sent to the shop. Mike was extremely condensending and spoke to us like we were children. They also raised the price on the car at sometime between her acceptance and the time we arrived. Worst place ever. My husband purchased a vehicle here not long by ago; trading in an old one. The experience was nothing like I've had at other dealerships. It had a "ghetto like" vibe to it. We felt pretty comfortable with our purchase because the price appeared to be reasonably priced, and the carfax didn't report any major damage. If I could give NO STARS, I would. About 1.5 months later we received a call from our finance company stating we are more than 30 days late on the vehicle we traded in...WHAT????? Kingdom Chevy didn't send payoff to finance company; resulting in my husband and I receiving a late payment on our credit report. We phoned Kingdom Chevrolet and all they could say is "we forgot." Now, I have to go through the credit bureau to get this taken care of. That's not the worst thing that went wrong. We received a letter from the DMV stating that the car we purchased was a result of the hurricane that happened in Florida. You've got to be kidding me!!!! I am baffled by why it's prevalent in the auto industry for folks to be liars. I hope that my below testimony will spare someone the agony of falling prey to their bait & switch scam. On Nov 19, 2019, I went on-line to initiate the purchase of a 2019 Chevy Traverse that met my particular specifications from Kingdom Chevrolet, 6603 S. Western Avenue, Chicago, IL. I was contacted the same day by Lenoir, from their sales desk who supposedly verified that the particular vehicle I had worked on-line Stock No.: 9295, Vin: 1GNEVHKW7KJ217623 was still at that location. I ask her repeatedly if that vehicle was in stock before I scheduled an appointment to visit the location at 7pm that same evening, and completed the financing application for 0% financing, which I knew I well qualified to receive, I completed the application at approximately 3:30pm that evening. When I arrived at the Kingdom Chevrolet location as I had scheduled with Lenoir (at 7pm on 11/19), my and husband and I were greeted by sales person, Chad, who immediately tried to persuade us to get another vehicle. We did not relent and after going back and forth with him almost 30 minutes, he returned with a manager who said the vehicle that I worked on-line was supposedly sold that day at 3pm. My husband and I knew that they both were lying; however, we left without a fuss. What I was disheartened and angry to learn this morning is that Kingdom Chevrolet did a hard iniquity on my credit report. I specifically informed Lenior that I only wanted my credit pulled for that precise vehicle only. I would have never agreed, or gone to that location had Lenoir not outright lied to me about the vehicle being on that premise. I tried to contact Kingdom Chevrolet to amicably have this matter resolved today at 9am - I spoke with Laura at the sales desk and left a message for Lenior, I then spoke with a manager who identified himself as Ray - who said he would have his General Manager, Kevin contact me. I attempted to call again at 2pm, and left a voicemail. I do not plan to attempt to contact them anymore and I have no more time to waste time with an unscrupulous business. I am however reporting their act of deception and reporting them for pulling my credit to the FTC, Better Business Bureau and CFPB. I am demanding that they initiate the process to have that bogus inquiry wiped from my credit report and I do not want to be shopped by them anymore. ***Review only for manager/price negotiation & shady fees. Car I purchased has been fine, and I have not yet had it serviced at the dealership. I recently purchased a car and received a quote online that was the "true car" price. The true car price included the list price plus $180 total fees for "dealer fees and accessories". I test drove the vehicle and was ready to buy. To my surprise there was an additional $995 in "dealership delivery fees" added onto the price of the car; on top of the $180 "total" fees that were already included. When I told the sales person that I was not going to pay that, he went to the manager and got it cut down to $500. They said the fee was to deliver the car from Georgia and that they had to service it, etc. I still said I wasn't going to pay it because it wasn't included up front, so the manager came over, completely un-bothered that they were throwing shady funds into the price, and told me that I was already getting a deal for the "delivery price", which is normally upwards of $2,200. I told him that it should have been included in the "up front" price they had given me previously over email, and he went into a saga about how the system they use is old and corrupt, but there wasn't anything he could do about it. He also mentioned that he was not going to take it off and insinuated that I could leave if I didn't want to pay it. He said that the owner would never do a deal that is that low, and would never take off the delivery fees. Keep in mind I was about to spend $24,000 that day on a vehicle, and he was willing to lose the business over $500. We ended up purchasing the vehicle, but I mentioned to the sales person and manager that I was obligated to write a review about the "dealership delivery fees" to make sure others are aware. Be sure to build this into your price when you are looking. Many other reviews also seem to talk about this same issue. On a side note, I got a call from the dealership 3 days after purchasing the vehicle asking me if I was still interested in purchasing it. That was a good laugh. read more

If I could give Chevy Kingdom zero stars, I would. I had an appointment and had a check ready to go. I drove 3 hours to get there and they knew that. They couldnt get the vin numbers straight on the 2 Chevy Volts and didnt even know if the car could charge. We asked to see if it charged and he said we werent allowed in service but he would go check, 30 minutes later he came back and said it would charge. We asked for the inspection record and they didnt have one. They said if we waited 45 minutes they would be happy to do one and I agreed as I had already been there 2 hours up until that point. He asked us to leave his desk and wait in service. I agreed to buy the car once the service came back clean. An hour later the salesman came out and said "I have good news and bad news. The good news is it serviced 100% and is good to go, the bad news is we sold it while you were waiting" we asked how this was possible as it hadnt been serviced he said they went into the service area and purchased the car they didnt care about the inspection. We were told we were not allowed in the service area... not to mention he said they finished the inspection. How could that be possible? I asked to speak with a manager who was rude and unapologetic. "What do you want me to do show you an invoice? There are lookers and there are buyers and you were just a looker". I showed him my check and had told them the day before I had a check ready to go. The salesman was nice but the manager was aweful. I will never purchase a car from these people as long as they employ people like that. I had a horrible experience here. I walked in with an approved loan check from my bank, poised to purchase a car they had listed. After working with the salesman (who was very nice, & accommodating), I was asked if they could try and beat the excellent percentage rate that my bank had already given me. I agreed to ONE credit check. They ran my credit SIX (6) times without my permission! Then, the manager increased the price of the vehicle at the signing, claiming that they had to charge extra for a security system on the car. Came for a diagnostic, tech informed me it would be about 1.5 hours and the cost of $150 which will be applied towards the total of repairs, no problem I informed tech I have Car Shield. Once the problem was detected and solution offered another 1.5 hours was estimated by tech for a bill of $370ish and informed that Car Shield would only pay $50 of it. Confused as to why only $50 would be paid out, I contacted Car Shield regarding my claim. Car Shield informed me that the job along with the diagnostic should have only been an hr at the most. He tried to tell me that when you trade a vehicle in you still pay the full taxes on the vehicle you buy not the difference between what you traded in and your vehicle. I'm not stupid.
