I was looking for a safe, reasonable, reliable car for my daughter who was going away to college. I saw a good deal on a car on TrueCar.com and called Rocket Auto Sales to see if they still had it. When I found out they did, I raced over there to check it out. Tony, the owner, helped me out. He seemed very honest and trustworthy and made me feel comfortable. He gave me a Carfax on the car and a great price on it. My daughter loves her car and we've had no problems with it! Being a woman and having to look for a car could be a horrible experience. it's hard to find a dealer you can trust and who won't take advantage you. But this experience was really refreshing! I have never been treated with so much disrespect. they have a new sales man, so rude. I just left 6/6/26 from there at 11am. first thing, did not want us to test drive. my husband and I are covered in tattoos so I'm thinking it's because of that. we informed him we were interested in paying cash, he still proceded to be very rude and asking how our credit was.... my husband then went inside to speak to his boss since we have bought several cars from then and our family. the boss came out and told him to let us test drive it... the sales man proceeded to roll his eye and with ask for a driver license. I would give it a zero... The own doesn't care about his customers, especially disabled person who living thru 4 near death experiences... They sold me a car that causes nothing but issues! Don't believe anything they say. If you are that desperate to purchase a car, sure go ahead buy a car by them... but know if you have any questions or can't find something about the car, dont expect the owner to call you back! If I could I would give them negative 5 stars. I bought my car from them a year ago and it's been in the shop longer than I have been driving it. I already spent $6,000 on repairs and not everything is repaired yet. The next day after buying the car I went back to them because the engine light appeared. The person checked it and told me it's just a problem with the sensor and it will cost me about $25 for a new one. Turns out it actually cost $518 and he lied straight to my face because on that day I still had the option to get my money back as I have 24 hours under the Illinois law. The first time I went to the shop I paid almost $2,200 and the second time I went to the shop I paid almost $3,000. The cost to repair everything that is wrong with the car will total to a little over $10,000- the car isn't even worth that much it costs to repair it. At that point I could have bought myself a brand new car with what I have spent on the car itself and the repairs. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone! DON'T BUY A CAR FROM THEM THEY ARE THE BIGGEST LIARS!!! read more

Surprise, surprise. A used car lot you can send your friends to. I came looking for the Internet advertised Buick Park Avenue Ultra (supercharged) and drove away with a 1999 Saab. The Saab 9-5 had one owner, 115,000 miles, and Carfax proved the owner lived near Peoria, IL. Tony and Redd specialize in cars that have "country miles" on them. They buy their cars at auction in central Illinois, Wisconsin, non-urban areas. And a vehicle with country miles will give you less trouble. Their "sweet spot" are cars you can buy in the $3000 - $5000 price range. A price I found attractive with my son still in college. Are the cars perfect? No, they're not. But if you want a perfectly unblemished car, buy a new one. Are the cars a good value? Yes, they are. Tony and Redd encourage you to bring your mechanic to check out the car. Or, with a little trust, they'll let you drive the car to a local mechanic for an opinion. I live on the northside of Chicago and believe driving to near Midway Airport was worth the time and effort to find a good car value with a car that had "country miles" (always use Carfax). I purchased a 1999 Saab but easily could have purchased the Buick Park Avenue, Honda CR-V, Toyota Corolla or several other cars. Looking for a good used car in the $3000 to $5000 range (yes, they have more expensive cars)? Take a drive to Rocket Auto Sales and tell them you read a review on Yelp. They lure you in thru the internet with one price but when you get there have an extra $500 plus tax & plates regestration so make it another thousand & don't try to talk them down because you'll be run out of breath. My experience with Rocket Auto Sales was a terrible, laughable experience. My experience reflected what my colleagues and family members had warned me about when dealing with these thieves. Let me first say, i approached this establishment as a cash buyer. We struck a deal and i purchased my vehicle 100%. The sales associate "Kacey", promised me a set of things prior to striking the deal. Prior to paying i asked to have those "set of things" in writing, but he insisted he was a man of his word. Come to find out, he did not deliver. I did not receive the full set of tires. To make matters worse, their on-site technician diagnosed that the vehicle has a transmission leak. I took the vehicle to Infiniti to get a full car inspection, and the drive shaft is leaking...NOT the transmission. Meaning their unqualified technician would've been meddling with the wrong parts. In light of that, i REFUSED to have them touch my vehicle. I requested that they compensate me to get the issue fixed at a QUALIFIED dealership, to no avail. In summary, when dealing with these dealerships, tread lightly..... or do yourself a favor, fix your credit and save up AND GO TO AN ACTUAL DEALERSHIP! I have a 700+ credit score and cash, i don't know what i was thinking. read more

My sister and I had been looking for a car for myself for quite some time. She said that she had seen an ad in Craigs List about a used car dealer that had very good prices. I of course have never purchased a used car, but with these economic times I had no choice. I called about an Audi the man who answered the phone said "come on in and take it for a drive". So off my sister and I went and we looked at a few cars, however my eyes set on the 2002 Audi A6. The Salesman was very nice and I did not feel uncomfortable, he was very direct , while still keeping a sense of humor and actually seemed honest (not like the stereo-typical Salesman.lol)..I got inside and it was very clean (not something I expected). I took it for a test drive and thought it handled very well. My sister the queen of used cars took it for a ride as well. As she got out she gave the the secret signal to purchase it. We did not want the Salesman to know we were interested in fear that he might swindle more money from us. Much to my surprise the Salesman sat us down and told us everything we needed to know and then came the time to talk $$$. Again I was pleasantly surprised under $7,000.00 I thought it would be more (of course this does not include the usual tax, plates etc.) I offered to pay cash and the Salesman gave me $500.00 off. Wow!!! I left this place with the car I wanted and a Huge smile on my face. I think the Salesman knew I was pleased and as we left he said "Rocket will leave money in your pocket". He got that right. To celebrate I took my sister to the restaurant that the salesman recommended..El Barco which was by the way awesome. I will keep coming back to this dealership whenever I feel like I want to get that new car feeling without having to pay the hefty $$$. There are major problems he said you have accept that there would be some problems with a used car, but before buying it , he said it had country miles and it was a beauty.
