First, we're walking up and two employees are vaping and gaming by the entrance... like right next to the entrance door. Second, we walk in, the place is nearly empty, 10% full, and when we said table for 2, he goes one minute and goes to clean the table. Literally, 90% of the tables were clean and ready for people to sit down. It was just weird. Third, the menus they gave us were gross. My husband went to exchange for another, and the guy had to go through a handful to get to a clean one. This was later an issue when our waiter tried to explain the menu to us and it was missing pages... Fourth, as I started to order someone was talking to him on his headpiece. He started gesturing to a coworker while I was ordering... once he finished his silent conversation, he turned to my husband, who hasn't ordered yet, and said "okay so you'll have... " and my husband had to say no, I haven't started ordering yet. It just kept getting worse with this waiter. Finally, we go to order and I can't remove cream cheese from the roll (can't have dairy or gluten) and I'm told they can't honor that. We left and didn't eat there. I would stay away! I really wanted to love this place because the food itself was very good. The sushi was fresh and tasted great. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. We were there for almost two hours, paid for the premium all-you-can-eat experience, and still left hungry because everything took so long to come out. We eventually stopped ordering because we were tired of waiting. The explanation we were given was that they were busy, but the restaurant wasn't even full, so that didn't seem to match what we were experiencing. I brought my dad here for his birthday, hoping for a great dinner, and it ended up being a disappointing experience. For the price, I expected much better service and a more organized dining experience. The food deserves praise, but the service simply wasn't acceptable. The menu offers a wide variety of appetizers, rolls and desserts to choose from. I've never seen another sushi place with Nutella and Dolce Delice sushi rolls, but they do not disappoint. They have shrimp rolls, salmon rolls, cream cheese rolls, kani rolls, and more. I do wish that they offered small sides of fried rice or chicken teriyaki. The price is around $40 per person and the waiters constantly come back to take your orders so you definitely get your money's worth. I also appreciate that they don't rush you, allowing you to enjoy the food and eat at your own pace. It does get crowded so I recommend arriving early. It's definitely the best all you can eat sushi experience in South Florida. read more

It's ordered À la carte versus a buffet which is great bc 1) the food is made to order and FRESH 2) doesn't feel like a buffet - feels like I am ordering anything I want in the menu. This is an AYCE sushi spot that we tried after reading an article citing this was one of the best. I will say the salmon sashimi was the best item on the menu. If I had to do it over again I would just eat that. Since this was our first time here we tried most of the things on the standard AYCE menu. This was by far not my favorite sushi place. Maybe coming from CA we are spoiled by the sushi quality we get here. Overall most options included cream cheese, lots of sauce or was charred. The rice was smashed, overcooked rather than seasoned and gently pressed into the rolls. Each vegetable dish was overcooked. The edamame was so overdone I couldn't even get the beans out without the husk dissolving in the process. None of the hot dishes were hot when they arrived and the rolls with shrimp tempera were cold and not crispy. The cooked shrimp was rubbery and not fresh. The sashimi mix included only 2 pieces of each type of fish unlike the advertised photo and the varying slice sizes were inconsistent. Although I appreciated the full service wait staff and the ability to order several dishes at a time the wait in between orders was a bit lengthy requiring us to wave down the wait staff rather then being routinely checked on. There were also balloons stuck to the ceiling with dangling ribbons than hung down to the food level when we dined there. Maybe the Brazilian flare is what we didn't appreciate but from a sushi perspective I have had much better. read more

First & last attempt to dine here. I did an online reservation for 7:30 for one - me. Traffic was good, so I got there about 15 minutes early & told the hostess that. They were busy but there were several tables open, including several tables for two. While I was waiting, a couple with 7:30 reservations came in at 7:20 and given table for two within 2 minutes. Two groups of four each with NO reservations were seated before me. Now it is 7:30 and the hostess decides to take care of the Door Dash person who got there after me & his order was not ready. The hostess took care of the others, then the DD guy. I asked her why all those others got tables before me, two with no reservations, and a couple with a reservation at the same time, then she started making excuses about the DD guy picking up. I told her I wanted my reservation canceled and asked to speak to the manager. All of a sudden she had a table for me. I didn't stay. I had no desire to give them my business. We had such a great time at Kingdom Sushi in Fort Lauderdale! We did the all-you-can-eat dinner and everything was so good -- super fresh, tasty, and came out fast. The menu has a ton of options and everything we tried was delicious. We came in for dinner with kids and were pleasantly surprised. Our server was very polite, the Octopus Boss I had was the best meal on the table. We also had salmon sashimi, it was really soft and fresh, definitely better than Phat Boy. We had various sushi rolls, edamame with truffle oil, and my 9-year old tried the eat all you can for various nigiri as well as a cookie ice cream dessert. Everything was great! Recommended for a night out with family or even for a date night. One thing to note is that they serve all entrees at the same time and I just loved that! I don't know about you, but for me it makes for a better meal experience when everyone is eating at the same time. This place is a gem. read more

IMO, a sushi restaurant is only as good as the sashimi - how it's cut, the variety in thickness cuts from usuzukuri to domino. Their sashimi is very not traditional or made by hand. It appears to be precut with a machine, or laser, or is provided like that in portion controlled packages and perhaps no real sushi chef on prem. Great for folks who like that sort of thing.
