An astonishing seafood journey. We came in to an environment that was clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless but let's talk food and service. JJ was our server and he was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. He took great care of us and had good recommendations for food. Now.. speaking of food, Oh. My. Goodness. I'm from the South and have eaten a lot of Cajun food, and nothing here disappointed. We started with artichoke dip with fried bowtie pasta and it reinvented good artichoke dip for me. I had the 1/2 drum on the shell. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned. A little zesty but not really spicy. Red beans and rice that came with it were good and the bowl of seafood gumbo I got was about the best you can get outside of Louisiana. My partner got shrimp and grits and thoroughly enjoyed it. The grits come in a fried ball but you can mash it down and it works much like normal shrimp and grits. The sauce though.. was fantastic. It was rich with hints of crayfish. 5 stars - I do not give them out too often. The team here tonight earned 5 in every category. We had a reservation at 5:45pm and were seated on time. I was able to get a space in the parking lot, it was pretty full. The hostess was friendly and pleasant. Our waitress Taylor greeted us in short order and took our drink order. The dining area we were in was vibrant and nearly full. When she came back we ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms. They were hot when they arrived, very tasty and filling. Next she had the pontchatrain entree, I had the andouille encrusted fish. Both came with side salads and a side. She had the roasted cauliflower and i had the hush puppies. We stopped by this afternoon after a visit to the pier for a walk on this beautiful day. I wanted a mocktail and to be able to sit outside and watch the traffic. We were greeted by warm young lady with a beautiful smile and she immediately filled my request for outdoor seating. Our server was very helpful in helping us decide upon our drink selection. I had the cranberry spritz and I would have it again and I my friend had the Dr Juice and it was absolutely amazing!!! I don't even drink beer and it smelled like fruit and tasted awesome. He was very impressed with our server's suggestion! He will have it again here and anywhere else they serve it in Baldwin County. For our last night in the area, we decided on this place Saturday night. We got reservations as there were 6 in our group. We got seated in a booth in the bar area. We made a reservation during the Fairhope Art Festival Weekend in March. Got right in. I had the shrimp and grits which was delicious and my husband had the fried shrimp platter- also delicious. We came through Fairhope to have an early dinner and were in the mood for seafood. We came to Kingfisher and the setting of the restaurant and the ambiance are so pleasant and peaceful - fantastic location. Server was A+ and she did a great job - coming to see if we needed anything but not overbearing! We got the salmon dinner and the seafood pasta and both were incredibly delicious and included a simple and fresh garden salad. We've been here several times when we are in the area visiting family. This last time we were seated in the room on the right as you walk in. Immediately we were met with an incredibly loud high-pitched whining sound from somewhere. It was unbearable. We quickly asked what that noise was and was told it was a ventilation fan. We had to move; I couldn't stand it. As we walked back by the open door there on my right (maybe the kitchen) the sound was even louder. That's where it was coming from. If that is a work space I doubt it meets OSHA standards without hearing protection. Anyway we got moved to the other side of the building and it was like night and day. By the end of our meal though that room was also too loud, but with conversations. We couldn't hear each other. They need some sound mitigation in this place. Our food and service was very good! I got the fried shrimp platter. Husband got the seafood lasagna, and OMG was that the bomb. So, so delicious. Very rich. MIL got her old standby, the shrimp and grits, which she always enjoys. My wife and I split a large gumbo that was very rich and correctly (medium) spiced. She ordered a seafood rigatoni which she said was very flavorful. Staff was very attentive and the food was good with just a few minor complaints based on our preference. The flavor of the boudin egg rolls were good, but the filling was a little mushy. They were a little skimpy on dishes that came with a sauce or dressing. Otherwise the food was delicious and well prepared. The location and the restaurant is perfect. The design and details of the building were incredible. The woodwork was stunning. It is a huge restaurant. We sat at bar and our bartender was great. Service was spotty, several crab claws broken with no meat. The entree salad with blackened shrimp was beautifully presented with Bleu cheese crumbles and candied nuts! The dressing was great but the salad was way too wet, dripping dressing in several areas. The blackened shrimp were WAY overpriced, not hot but EXTREMELY salty. Being on Mobile Bay, my objective was to eat at a good seafood restaurant. We chose Kingfisher seafood for its proximity to the resort we were staying at, and of course it has seafood. I started with a nice old fashioned cocktail. For dinner I had the Pontchartrain, which was drum fish Oscar style. Drum fish is something I've noticed is popping up on menus lately and it's a really nice mild fish. Having the hollandaise and crab meat on top made it even better. For sides, I ordered their peanut coleslaw and the creamed spinach. The peanut coleslaw was very surprising. I enjoyed it and I liked that little bit of crunch from the peanuts. I would recommend that for sure. The cream spinach was awesome and so was the fish. Everything was delightful! I highly recommend this restaurant and I definitely recommend the Pontchartrain. read more

Looking for something different for lunch and luckily found Kingfishers. The place was super clean and nicely decorated. We chose to sit outside on the patio and it was nice with a cool April breeze. There is a HUGE oak tree next to the patio which is nice. Weren't sure what we wanted and the server offered samples of the gumbo and bisque. Both we good but the bisque was amazing so I had it and a roast beef po boy. The bisque came with a buttered roll with was also amazing. The po boy was good but for my liking could have had a little more juice. Being from Louisiana I'm picky about po boys and it passed. It came with a side and I chose broiled cauliflower. You know I had to totally reverse the direction I was going with my reviews on this business last night when two women behind the bar interrupted a private conversation I was having with a couple as Irecent relocated to the area of Fairhope and moved into a nice home in Fairhope Falls with a profession of professional standup comedian @StandupPA ... I do stand up comedy and have already been asked by local fairhope Businesses and restaurants to do some standup. Apparently I got too loud telling a joke to this jovial couple standing near the bar after already paying my bill of over 100 dollars and leaving a 100 dollar tip... the bartender, snapped her fingers at me and said "hey you're getting to loud!!!! And I looked at Faith the other floor manager and she was glaring angrily at me as well as my visiting Exuadorian friend. The couples we were talking to said they weren't bothered at all and were actually enjoying my company. So I just left and actually won't be back. Jesus says when you aren't welcome or treated well you wipe your feet off and never return. Amen also they threw away my food when I went to the bathroom even though I told them I would be right back. The whole evening was disheartening after spending close to 300 that night and over 800 since I moved here. Hope it was worth it... also not sure if they were racist against my friend. God bless I should also mention that I had even copied the whole menu bc I am also a SuperHOST for Airbnb and plan to have more than the three I already have in the region so now you won't be getting that business either. My family and I came here this afternoon on March 8th,2026 after our cousin's graduation to celebrate together, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing because of the customer service we received from management. Several members of my family, including my aunt, cousin, and uncle, did not enjoy their meals and politely expressed concerns about the food. Our waiter, Dylan, handled the situation professionally, kindly, and respectfully. He listened to us, reported the issue to management, and genuinely tried to help de-escalate the situation. We truly appreciate him for that. However, the first manager who came to our table was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or offer solutions such as remaking the food or offering alternative meals, she became defensive. At one point, she took my aunt's seafood dish to the back, returned to the table, tasted the food in front of us, and stated that there was "nothing wrong with it" because she had made it herself. The way this situation was handled was uncomfortable, dismissive, and inappropriate. She also repeatedly stormed away from the table during conversations, and when taking the food back the first time, we visibly saw her kick the kitchen door open with her foot. Since our table was directly beside the kitchen entrance, everyone at the table witnessed this behavior. Thankfully, another manager eventually stepped in and helped calm the situation down. She did offer to comp one of my cousin's meals and removed my aunt's and cousin's meals from the bill, which we appreciated. However, the initial manager's attitude and behavior completely overshadowed what should have been a joyful family celebration after graduation. Again, thank you to Dylan for remaining professional and kind throughout the situation. He was the only part of the experience that made us feel heard and respected. read more

The atmosphere inside is simple and clean. I will opt to eat outside next time. We had the shrimp and grits and crawfish etouffee. The shrimp and grits has a fried grit cake that was good; however, after a few bites the dish was too salty. The salads that came with were underwhelming, and my husband was livid that tomatoes were placed on a Caesar salad. I was excited to try the pepper jelly balsamic, but I could barely taste it. We had plates of mixed greens, three cherry tomatoes, and some very large croutons. My husband thought the crawfish etouffee was good but also salty. The Seafood Gumbo was good, but significantly spicier than I could enjoy and the Crab & Brie Soup had excellent flavor, but was extremely rich and very cheesy. Overall we enjoyed the experience. The front lobby and wait staff were gracious, helpful, and enthusiastic. Attire was a very wide range- from suits with a tie to cut-off shorts.
