The Seafood Gumbo was good, but significantly spicier than I could enjoy and the Crab & Brie Soup had excellent flavor, but was extremely rich and very cheesy. Overall we enjoyed the experience. The front lobby and wait staff were gracious, helpful, and enthusiastic. Attire was a very wide range- from suits with a tie to cut-off shorts. The food is very tasty. Some pretty bold New Orleans style flavors. They give you a ton of food too. You shouldn't leave hungry. We didn't receive our salads until our main entree showed up. It was also very tight inside. Some of the tables are very close to each other and it was rather loud in the room we were in. Overall, very good experience though. read more

We have frequented Kingfisher many times since they arrived in Fairhope. Tonight was a complete disaster from taking our order incorrectly, to bringing it out to the table. The waitstaff all looked as if they were either still in high school or just recently graduated. I did not see any management observing how bad the performance was there on the floor. I asked our waitress why was everything coming out so slow and her reply was they had a twenty top and a twelve top that was slowing things down. Everyone can have a bad night, and I'm sure we will be back but I'm very disappointed in the poor wait staff they are using in a busy upcoming summer. I ate here last night. Everything was spot on. My server, Caroline H was fantastic, friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable and quick to make recommendations The food was spectacular. The house salad with pepper jelly vinegarette was perfectly balanced. For my main I had a shrimp, crabmeat,and crawfish creamy pasta. Exceptionally balanced and plentiful. I added a creamed spinach side, beyond my expectations. The portions were plentiful. Timing was perfect. Ambiance was quite pleasant, friendly and welcoming. We were seated in the front room closest to Scenic 98. It's a smaller room with all hard surfaces making it extremely loud. So loud in fact, when the room filled up, we couldn't hear each other. Not a pleasant evening. Our server was not friendly, didn't smile, and was annoyed when she served one of our drinks with tonic water instead of the ordered club soda. She actually blamed the guest saying "I asked you if you wanted tonic and you said yes." I heard that he ordered club soda, and he hates tonic. Blaming a guest is bad service. She was snarky at us if we asked a question about the menu. Unfortunately, the experience overshadowed the absolutely delicious 5 star meal. The service otherwise was efficient. We had, onion rings, a roast beef po boy, crawfish étouffée, fried shrimp, with red beans and rice, and jambalaya. Every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Thanks to the Yelp App for recommending KingFisher Seafood! We ended up going on a Saturday evening and it was packed. I do suggest making a reservation if possible. We were lucky because there were two seats that became available at the bar, so we didn't have to wait too long. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by the bartenders. I can't remember their names, but they were super nice and attentive. They also gave their suggestions on the food without us having to ask them. They did recommend their seafood gumbo and their crab Brie soup and they even allowed us to taste samples. I ended up with the seafood gumbo and my friend ended up with the Brie. Both were very delicious and flavorful. The Brie reminds you of a bisque soup, but thicker. We also ordered the Black Jack oysters that came with some delicious toppings including pickled jalapeños and crumbled bacon. In addition, we ordered their Seafood pasta which came with shrimp, crawfish, crab meat and sausage. You can't go wrong with this dish! It was very creamy and rich. It also came with either a side salad or coleslaw. We got the side salad and tried their delicious house vinaigrette. It ended up being so much food that we had plenty of leftovers. My family and I came here this afternoon on March 8th,2026 after our cousin's graduation to celebrate together, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing because of the customer service we received from management. Several members of my family, including my aunt, cousin, and uncle, did not enjoy their meals and politely expressed concerns about the food. Our waiter, Dylan, handled the situation professionally, kindly, and respectfully. He listened to us, reported the issue to management, and genuinely tried to help de-escalate the situation. We truly appreciate him for that. However, the first manager who came to our table was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of trying to resolve the issue or offer solutions such as remaking the food or offering alternative meals, she became defensive. At one point, she took my aunt's seafood dish to the back, returned to the table, tasted the food in front of us, and stated that there was "nothing wrong with it" because she had made it herself. The way this situation was handled was uncomfortable, dismissive, and inappropriate. She also repeatedly stormed away from the table during conversations, and when taking the food back the first time, we visibly saw her kick the kitchen door open with her foot. Since our table was directly beside the kitchen entrance, everyone at the table witnessed this behavior. Thankfully, another manager eventually stepped in and helped calm the situation down. She did offer to comp one of my cousin's meals and removed my aunt's and cousin's meals from the bill, which we appreciated. However, the initial manager's attitude and behavior completely overshadowed what should have been a joyful family celebration after graduation. Again, thank you to Dylan for remaining professional and kind throughout the situation. He was the only part of the experience that made us feel heard and respected. read more

My husband and I live in Point Clear and have enjoyed takeout from Kingfisher since they opened. After being at the Children's Hospital all weekend with our very ill granddaughter, we decided to stop in and have a good meal. The meal was good. The service was terrible. When we received our bill, we noticed Elijah charged us for two beers. My hubby had one beer. He argued with us and then here came a maybe 20 year old female with glasses and a white sweatshirt on. She said, "You in fact had two beers and I can pull camera footage if you want." Well, it wasn't the money, it was the principle. We are not people who need to steal a beer. She was extremely rude. She sent another bill out with the same problem. She never introduced herself or apologized. She never came back to the table. The beer was removed without apology. Elijah, the waiter said, "I didn't mean for that to be such a big deal." We are a married, 58 year old couple, who have lived our entire lives here. We will be sure to tell our friends to watch their bill at Kingfisher. They are padding the bill for a larger tip and more revenue. We will happily take our business to Gambino's, where we have never had a problem. Gambino's food is much better anyway. This is what happens when you have an immature staff that is clearly not trained in customer service. Who accuses a couple of trying to not pay for a beer? If they would have apologized, it would have made it much better. Thanks for tanking an already bad day into a worse one! We never complain, never ask for much, and we tip very well. Really really good dining experience! Located in the old Wintzell's in Fairhope I truly love the renovations! The place looks amazing! I started with an espresso martini and it was top notch! I got the andouille encrusted fish and it was a perfectly cooked piece of fried drum with a delicious crawfish mushroom sauce. The creamed spinach was very rich but a little heavy on the nutmeg. I rarely write reviews, and only do it when I think it is absolutely necessary. Kingfisher is truly phenomenal. Every time I come to Fairhope, this is a MUST. The quality of this food is unmatched. The prices are fabulous. The drinks are delicious. The restaurant is beautiful, and you absolutely have to experience sitting on the dim lit patio on a pretty fall or spring evening. I think about the shrimp, white crab, crawfish andouille pasta on a daily basis, and the spicy margarita is perfection. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The service is always great! My only wish is that they were able to host a rehearsal dinner as my fiancé and I love this place more than anywhere else in fairhope. It would be a dream come true!!!!
