I used to live in the neighborhood and visited King's Buffet frequently and the food was very good, I used to give it 4 stars. I moved and each of the last 3 times I visited that rating has lost a star. My favorite dishes were Butter Shrimp and Jalapeño Chicken but with each visit one of those dishes disappeared with no comparable replacement. I stopped by yesterday for take out and there was no Shrimp other than a tail on frozen option and Seafood Mix with tiny Shrimp and Imitation Crab. I made due with fish, beef dishes and 2 chicken dishes on Lo Mein and Angel Hair When I got home and bit into the beef, it was so bad I spit it out. The other dishes were basic but edible and I decided that King's food quality has fallen so low I'm not going back again, its a waste of money. read more

We came to this buffet for nostalgia purposes and the interior really felt like nothing had changed in the last 15 years. The service was fine and they took our plates away promptly. The food is your classic Chinese buffet fare. Nothing was really that good but there was a lot that was bad. I ended up just eating the lo mein and general Tso's chicken. The general tsos chicken was extremely sweet and not spicy at all but not terrible. The salt and pepper shrimp was also decent. We went if Fourth of July and unfortunately had to pay premium price for lunch. They had lobster available but it was mushy and basically inedible. Skip the sushi. It's just different variations of California rolls with different colored sauces on them. I often find myself at buffets to relive memories of my childhood, but I think I done doing that now. $21 for a "special" lunch buffet is crazy read more

The food quality (for a buffet) is quite good - they have a variety of beef, chicken, pork, and seafood to choose from. The dessert section only includes a soft serve machine and no more than 3-4 trays of cakes and jello. Customers can only take 1 ice cream container from the freezer. The selection is relatively small - there are 8 rows, each with 6 unique dishes, ranging from noodles to fried chicken. But the staff has always been polite and generous - I've never had an issue with service. The space is clean, well lit, and properly maintained. Overall, I'd recommend the buffet if you keep your expectations in check. It's not high dining cuisine, just all you can eat for $21. read more

I just moved to the area, and there seems to be NO other buffets in the area at all. So, I tried it today, hoping to do a YOUTUBE video in the near future. I waited well into the dinner time hour, for a week day, hoping for all that the dinner has to offer, but sadly, there was not very many choices, and the food was mostly older, as if from lunch. Oddly, the Swai fish fillet and that little fake seafood that comes on a shell, tasted sour as if it was bad, before cooking and serving it on the buffet. so i did NOT eat it. They charge the same as the Asian buffet in chantilly, but that other place has way more options, like sushi of all kinds and a live cook at the hibachi station, ribs, etc. another one in manasass offers blue crabs and tons more choices too. The fried shell on shrimp was the smallest i have seen on any Asian buffet in all my years of going to them. but that was tasty enough. also, they played rap and hip hop music along with a tv with liberal fox 5 news playing, so you hear both in your ear while trying to enjoy dinner. turn all that off and put on some soft dinner music, maybe even some nice easy asian themed music for the mood. The service was great though. I really was hoping for a good local Asian buffet place, but I guess i will have to make the trip to chantilly (a long ways off, since i moved) or hope for a new buffet to open as this area needs one badly, be it American food, Seafood, anything buffet. read more

Umm, first off the location itself is definitely not where you'd expect a Chinese buffet to be. Regardless, it's your very average, low-ish tier Chinese buffet. The two biggest positives I noticed were the price and the amount of food you get altogether and I'm sure that is why people dine here. I would say that because it's an "as expected" kind of spot, it really isn't too bad. It's just that none of the staff or customers looked happy or even okay to be there. It looked a bit...sad? Should have known better seeing the parking lot almost empty. My stomach was more hungry than what my brain told me. All the food is either extremely bland or extremely salty. The rice was hard in the sushi rolls meaning that the food has been sitting out for a few hours. The fried food was all room temperature. Came here a few days ago for dinner service. When we walked in, we were greeted with kindness. When we got to our table, it smelt like straight up like bleach and it was we and we asked the server if she could wipe it down to dry. The smell of bleach was still pretty strong. That we had to ask for new utensils because it had gotten onto them. When wet got to the food. Everything looked good from a distance, but up close it was not as pleasant. I had gotten a couple pieces of sushi. The avocado was turning brown on all of them. And they were not cold. And when I got to the entrée. I did a small variety of each dish. And once I sat down and ate, everything was cold, bland, and unappetizing. Me and my boyfriend were literally gagging. So, we both decided to ask for the check within less than 20 minutes of being there. We did not want to seem rude, but we did not tip. And the waitress (I also want to add she was not our waitress at first. She just came to get the check) got really offended by this. We spent approximately $40 for the two of us! Honestly, it was a total waste of time and money.! Finally, buffets are open! I wasn't sure when they would resume here as a lot of places were still just doing outdoor seating or takeout/deliveries. Although it's all indoor dining, everyone is spaced out (the restaurant wasn't too crowded.. maybe 5 occupied tables on a Wednesday night?) We got a whole section to ourselves. Masks are mandatory everywhere except your own table while you eat. Gloves are provided for each trip to the buffet line, and all workers wore masks, gloves and face shields. For $13.49 (weekday dinner), I was surprised with the selection of food for a weekday dinner chinese buffet. They had all you can eat steam crabs, crawfish, and of course, all the favorite sweet sugary greasy American chinese food goodness. There's the usual General Tso's, honey chicken, Kung Pao, Hunan Beef, Salt and pepper shrimp, bbq ribs. Lo mein, fried rice and such. You can definitely fill up here. I have been coming here since I was about eight years old from 8 to 14 years old. This place was a prime, staple in the buffet scene in Northern Virginia, two years before the pandemic it was going downhill really fast. There are many things that this business can improve on, but don't seem to want to spend the money and pocket everything. first and foremost, the interior of the place is a little outdated, the lighting is very bad. The owners don't really seem to care. the new generation of the owners... in a nice way to say it;They don't give a crap about the place. when you go there they are just on their phones. They used to serve very good food, such as crab legs crabs and various other dishes, including sushi that stopped after the pandemic, but the crabs and the blue crabs stopped about whenI said it was going downhill. if I took ownership of this place, I would immediately reinstate to those dishes, up the price of the buffet entry and do a renovation of the interior to make it more updated. by my calculations. There is well enough in the budget to do those things. The only reason why they are surviving is because this areas filled with money. If they were a tad bit smart, they would put some money back into the business and make more money while improving it.. I hate to be that guy but I love this place so much and I know that if this ever happened. me and my family would be here almost every weekend and I'm sure many other families agree. Now, we go to SushiOn in fair Oaks Mall because they have good quality sushi and other dishes, but if this place brought back the sushi, crab legs, blue crabs, and many of the other things they took out this place would be popping again and be competition for them. I HATE when I have to give a bad review. Years ago I used to go to kings buffet at least once a week. Everything was so fresh. Last night I went for the first time in years. I got lomain, 2 crabs which were empty, ate shrimps with the heads on them, and 2 of their dishes with seafood in them. Ate and had a good time. Went home and about 1 later my stomach started feeling funny. I ran to the bathroom and literally got sick for at least 30 minutes. Everything I ate I threw up. Worst experience ever. I was underwhelmed by the experience of a limited, $15 per person dinner menu of mostly chicken, chicken and chicken entrees. Gone from the dinner offerings are the following , but not limited to: Crab claws Flounder (substituted with Tilapia) Green Beans Steamed vegetables Tomatoes Most of the salads items Sushi Ice Cream The restuarant was less than 1/4 full. Don't. Just don't. I was craving Chinese food. I decided to try this place, as the reviews were mixed. Oh Lordy, was that a mistake. Shrimp should not be mushy when removing the shell. Calling it disgusting would be kind. Crab should not be mushy when removed from the shell. Roast duck should not be so hard you can't chew it. Egg rolls should not be cold inside. I kept fantasizing that the health department would walk in while I was sitting there, hold up an egg roll and scream "enough!!" I'll just stop there..... but..... Hot and sour soup was the highlight of my meal and prevented me from crying in public. The chilled mussels were also good. That's about it. That is enough for one star? This restaurant is not interested in making you feel welcome. I was ignored the entire time I was there. No refill on the water....not one. Horrendous service. Not a single staff member was smiling. They are also not interested in serving good food. I was mistaken for staying and should have stopped eating after shelling one shrimp. I kept thinking I would turn the corner and find something redeeming other than a cup of soup. Nope. Those poor crustaceans that gave their life so that they could be cooked to the point that they turned into paste. So wrong.....so sad. I sacrificed so that you won't have to. The food wasn't too bad but its the servers that deserve the 1 star, they were telling me how to pay in such a demanding way and were like "put tip here" and I chose not to tip because I just sometimes feel like saving money and she was all like "no tip!?!" and made such a glare towards me and my friend who also didn't tip and i was trying to be friendly and when were leaving I told her "thank you :)" and she just laughed in my face and was talking about me saying like "he didn't tip me can you believe that?!" so they have TERRIBLE customer service. read more

I'm really surprised the health department allows this place to operate. I really want to be nice as no one was rude or treated us badly. But it just wasn't any good. Some of the items were cold (supposed to be hot). Low Mein was supposed to be vegetable. Maybe it was a new invisible vegetable? Pepper chicken was sweet as if the chef made one sauce for three different trays. Steamed dumplings were basically one blob of dough. The duck sauce handle was actually stuck to the bottom of the container. We could not get it "unstuck". I realize you can't please everyone. If you want my review, save your money. I gave three stars (average) for the food selections and quality & tastes. One additional star for the price and services. As an AYCE Chinese buffet, you can't complain with less than $12 per person during the lunch hour. They have all the standard Chinese buffet foods, and also ice cream for dessert. With the price, of course, sushi is NOT and option, but once again, it's a cheap buffet! Restaurant is decently clean and staffs are friendly. It can be 5 star if the taste of food can get improved. Maybe charging $1 to $2 more person and using the money to improve the taste or menu can help. read more
