I'm surprised by the recent negative review. I've had nothing but great experiences for the last several years (and I've tried all the dry cleaners in the South End as I've lived her since '08) and I'm far and away happier with King's than the others. I've always interacted with the same person, so no idea what this idea of "new ownership" is. Helpful, kind, and responsive; I've never had a poor result and they've attended to loose buttons and small problems without my having to ask - I don't expect that to happen every time, but it sure is a nice plus when it does. read more

We've used this place for years but not anymore. Old owner were great and service was excellent. Ever since the new couple took over, and won't admit new ownership or answer questions whether old owners are coming back or not, we've had several items damaged, some of which were brand new with tags. Last time I went there was to have them press a tuxedo pants that they ruined. The new lady laughed when she saw me walking in and said "ha ha ha you come back"!!!! This was after several arguments I had with her previously regarding damaged items, and her excuse was she doesn't understand English therefor didn't understand what I needed done. I stopped by again last week to ask when the original owners are coming back, since her version of the story was that they were on holiday and will be back early this year, she then changed her story and said they were co owners and not sure when the original couple will be back. Very nasty and deceptive service, and I will never go back there. Hope original owners are reading this and taking over soon if they do still really have any ownership in this business. This place is really good ... they are "green friendly" meaning the materials they use to clean the clothes don't harm the environment. They are good for alterations as well. I have had jeans altered here a few times, and have been happy with the results. The prices are fairly reasonable and the service is attentive. Remember to bring your hangers back, they'll re-use them! read more

Extremely nice and professional service. I tried Kings for the first time a week ago. I entered looking for a miracle alteration to a bridemaids dress. I received a pleasant surprise when I was told yes the miracle could be done and it wouldn't cost me a ton of money. I will forever be a customer of Kings. I took five shirts here to be cleaned. The price is very cheap ($12 for 5 shirts), but I guess you get what you pay for. Or maybe it's the fact that they are green and stay away from the harsh chemicals, but our shirts only came back semi-clean. The pit stains were still visible (albeit less noticeable) and there was still a ring around the collar (albeit less noticeable). Only if I had clothes that had no stains to get out would I bring my clothes back here. But when my clothes really need a clean, I'm going to have to take them elsewhere. read more

Kings Cleaners does a fine job of dry cleaning. They also do alterations. I fully endorse them with one reservation. If you want alterations done and the alterations person isn't in, just come back another time. She is sometimes not in and the dry cleaning woman (i think she's the owner) will try to take measurements for your alterations. While she may do a fine job, I prefer to have the alterations lady do it. She just knows better how things should go. The end. read more

This is the place to go if you're tired of mysterious dry cleaning prices that require you to guess at the cost ahead of time and then spend twice as much as you expected to bail out your cashmere. Plus when your sweaters get home they don't smell like they've had a tour of all the Dow Chemical plants. Really, who wants their clothes to stink AFTER they're clean? Not only is it hard to communication with the representative, as her english is nil to none. I've had too many faded garments to ever use their services again. The last items I cleaned came back with a strong offensive odor- like excess chemicals use. (Though they are a "green" cleaners) The price is reasonable but you get what you pay for- bad service and a role of the dice in getting your clothing back as good as you left it. read more

Absolutely terrible. It is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with the representative, and she is incredibly Rude. They will take your money with promises that they can take out any stain. On three separate occasions I have brought clothes or comforters to them to be cleaned. They never took out the stains but would not tell you this. You get home, open up the item and it's still stained. I live very close to them so I will return and say "you said the stain was taken out". The representative just opens the register and slams the money back down on the counter. No apologies. Terrible customer service. Terrible cleaning service. Avoid at all costs. read more

This place is great. They do a great tailoring job. I love Jerry's on Boylston, but this location is easier to get to if you want to drive and pick up your tailoring. I believe they are also open on Saturdays too. They are also cheaper in tailoring....Sorry Jerry. But for jean/slacks they were cheaper. I had a little bit of a language barrier issue, but they are always extremely kind and I have never had any problems. It is a small footprint but its all you need for a tailor/cleaners. read more
