Great Place! Pizza is awesome...prices are too! It's a cozy retro styled Cafe, which is locally owned, right in Honolulu. They offer more then Pizzas...you can get Salads, Sandwiches, Snacks, Sodas, Smoothies and so much more. They deliver...but I really do recommended visiting in person! It's adorable. Cruising around for dinner after surf, we found a spot on Kapahulu almost right in front. I ordered the Kapahulu and my daughter got the Diamond Head. Worst I ever had... Looked this up on Yelp! and decided to give them a try, even though I wasn't expecting much from the deal they were offering - 2 pizzas, unlimited toppings, $18??? But the reviews were good, so...I called from a hotel 5 minutes away. First question I asked was "How long for delivery?" and the lady on the line said "no more than 30 minutes". 55 minutes later I called wondering if the delivery guy was the reason for all the ambulances outside the hotel but, no, she said he had "just left and will be there any minute". 30 minutes later he showed up. I'm starving! Then I opened the boxes...now, I was expecting little more than Little Caesar's but alas, received much less: Soda cracker crust 18" in diameter, toppings (no kidding!) 10" in diameter. Not only was it soda cracker thin, it was soggy or crisp depending upon where you bit! Italian sausage looked and tasted like dog food, cheese tasted like plastic (sort of motor oil base I guess)... I could go on, but I guess it's a case of not even getting what you paid for. HHHHHmmmmmm, where to start. I started ordering from King's Pizza for no other reason then one night I ordered 2 large pizza's with extra cheese and our favorite toppings from Round Table Pizza, only to find out that they were going to charge us over $80 for just the two pizzas. Now I understand that the Waikiki area is a tad more expensive then other places on the island, but over $80 for two pizzas? Yeah right. I hung up the phone. I had heard about King's Pizza so thought I would give then a try. They had a special going on for 2 extra large pizzas for only $18. $18 for 2 extra large pizzas versus $80 for 2 large pizzas, is a no brainer in my book. I called them up and talked to a very nice young lady who took my order. I asked for extra cheese and an assortment of other extra toppings for each pizza. I loved the idea of UNLIMITED TOPPINGS! I have to say that I was impressed thus far. 30 minutes later there was a knock at the door and our pizza was here, great response time. Feeling happy about my awesome pizza selection I eagerly tipped the driver $10. I had found a new pizza place that was not only affordable, but quick and also had, UNLIMITED TOPPINGS! I gathered the family around the table and eve let them hang a little before opening the first delicious pie.....wait for it.....wait for it.....OK, GO! I very vividly remembering opening the first box and immediately thinking to myself, "What the F? This is it?" In all fairness, the pizza HAD all the right toppings, but they were meagerly distributed to say the last. Here's the break down: EXTRA CHEESE: Yeah, if there was none on the pizza to begin with then I guess anything extra would be considered "Extra Cheese". EXTRA PEPPERONIS: The only thing EXTRA about the pepperonis was all the extra space in between them. SAUSAGE: There was probably only 10 pieces of sausage, maybe 15, but for an extra LARGE pizza, this was ridiculous. PINEAPPLE: half a handful at best. BLACK OLIVES: I think we counted 50 black olives on both pizzas.....COMBINED! Now, I'm not one to boycott anyone the first time around. So I tried them again a few weeks later. Same deal, 2 extra large pizzas with infinite toppings.....wrong! 2 Extra thin Extra large pizzas that require a trip to the store so that you can buy and then add your own amount of toppings. I tried a third time, fourth, fifth and sixth. Today I was feeling hungry for a pizza and tossed out the name, King's Pizza. We quickly did the math and opted for three large TombStone pizzas for only $15. At least with the TombStone pizzas we knew we wouldn't get skimped on the toppings. Other ten the amount, not even the quality, of the toppings on the pizza, the service was great. Very polite over the phone and every time was there within a reasonable amount of time. The pizzas taste was great, but the UNLIMITED TOPPINGS was minimal by even regular toppings standards. I understand the need to get your ROI, but the pizza business thrives on return customers, and one thing I know, if the customer thinks he/she is getting shorted for any reason, unless your giving sexual favors as the topping, they'll soon not be a return customer any longer. I almost went back today, but my better judgment and hungry for toppings taste buds logically opted for TombStone over King's Pizza. If they would be a little more gracious with the toppings then I would definitely go back as I am sure so would hundreds if not thousands of other "eagerly awaiting a great pizza" customers would. Just my 2 cents. read more
