    SAUSAGE & PESTO SQUARE
    Rachael K.

Pizza Mamo did not disappoint last night! My boyfriend and I loveddd the Detroit style square! We recently tried Chicago deep dish and tavern style, and we believe Detroit style is better! Located in Chinatown, on Hotel, there's limited metered parking nearby. I didn't notice a restroom onsite but also didn't ask. The menu offers different types of pizzas and toppings. My boyfriend loved his Italian beer. The garlic knots were alright in my opinion. The dough was not as fluffy as I hoped. The marinara sauce was absolutely delicious. The sausage pesto square was perfection. My boyfriend wished there was more sausage but I was happy with the square as it. Seating indoor and outdoor. We sat ourselves and were immediately greeted by our server. Staff is friendly and hardworking. Will be back! I want to try their other pies!

Food- 5 stars Service- 5 stars Ambiance- 3.5 I ordered two different pizzas from Pizza Mamo on Father's Day weekend and did not regret it! First things, you are able to put in your order online ahead of time if you don't want to wait. I would highly recommend doing this because their location is in Chinatown which isn't the safest place with very difficult parking. I was lucky to have gotten a spot on Nu'uanu street and walked one block to get my order. All I had to do was wait 5 minutes for them to bring my order out and cha Ching! The Garlic bomb pizza was soo yummy! It's served with ricotta cheese dolloped on the whole pizza w finely chopped slices of garlic garnished. The slices are as big as your head!! I would definitely order from Pizza Mamo again!

Love at First Bite! Why Pizza Mamo is a Solid 10/10: The Taste: The honey-pesto synergy on that Honey Creeper is the flavor profile I didn't know my life was missing. Absolute culinary wizardry. The Mission: Huge props to Pizza Mamo for partnering with the Save a Bite app to cut down on food waste! If you haven't heard of it, restaurants use it to list their surplus end-of-day food at a massive discount instead of tossing it. Saving money and the environment? Say less. Sustainable carbs just taste better...it's science. The Vibe: The waitress was incredibly sweet, and the sit-down space is so cute. The Verdict I love a good boujee on a budget meal, but even if there's no mystery boxes available on Save a Bite, Pizza Mamo is totally a place I would order in, sit down, soak up the vibes and snag a slice or 3 from...which we definitely will be doing in the future. Thanks, Pizza Mamo.

One of my FAVORITE pizza spots. Crust is crispy, pepperoni is crunchy (not soggy), and there's an even amount of cheese and tomato sauce on the pizza. We went at around 10:00pm (ish) and decided to get a pizza because we were hungry. The wait for the fresh pizza didn't take long and there was a lot of seating. I will be coming back again, always craving a good crispy pizza!!

Excellent supreme pizza! We forgot to take a picture when it was still whole. Lol

We had the supreme pizza and it was excellent! Great friendly service from staff too! That's a win win for us!

Pizza mamo has always been one of those pizza places my office orders pizza from for special occasions, but it has been awhile since I've been in there. I had no idea that they have a full bar now with beer on tap. Stopped by pizza mamo for a quick slice and a drink after my girl dinner at Giovedi. Our server Kai was very attentive, friendly, and had great vibes. My friend and I weren't super hungry, but figured we should share a slice if we were going to drink more. Kai offered to cut the pizza in half which was perfect! We ordered the garlic bomb and it was... bomb!! It started to get a little busy later in the night due to people frolicking around Chinatown for the Saint Patty's Day Bar Crawl. Will definitely be back! I loved their farmers fresh pizza.. i hope they bring it back heheh follow my foodie adventures on ig: smolgirlfatass

I loved it! The last time I came here, they were fairly new and only had a couple of pizza options. This time around, they had a much larger selection of pizzas, as well as small appetizers and drinks. I went in the evening, and the ambiance was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the garlic knots, the honey creeper pizza, and a garlic bomb pizza slice, and they were all really good. I do wish the garlic knots and pizzas were a little more garlicky, but they were still delicious! I'll definitely be coming back!

WOWOW! This is a 5 star pizza. The Detroit style pizza is incredibly good. Crusty and crunchy on the edges, extremely soft in the middle and the toppings are just as good as you can get here. I got the Pesto/Sausage and yeah the sausage is more like crumbles - like where is the sausage??? But the taste cannot be denied. This is extremely delicious stuff!!!!!! Is it authentic? I don't know and frankly I don't care. It's just so good! It's different from most pizzas here and it is appreciated! If the Detroit style pizza was great, well, so is their Mamo supreme. The thing is, the flavor is so good. I went to Mad Pie a little while ago and I've been thinking about their crust and I do believe Mad Pie's crust might be "better" but overall this pizza is so good and I'd rather these pizzas myself. When I opened the boxes I had to admire these beautiful pizzas! This is GOOD STUFF guys!!!!! I think it's my favorite now. The sauce, the toppings, overall it's just so good!!!!! Try it. You won't be disappointed!

Service is perfect and the pizza is the best I've had and I don't live in Hawaii. Had the garlic knots, Caesar salad, pepperoni pizza, garlic bomb pizza and sausage pesto pizza. I would come back with every visit!!

Came here for the first time for lunch with friends. They had been here before and said that the concept is different now. They don't have slices out on display anymore, but you can still order slices that come from the back! It seemed like everything is being made fresh now. We dined in, and there were a handful of tables to eat at. I just got a slice of the fungi pizza. It came straight from the oven, so the crust was nice and thin and crispy. There was the perfect amount of cheese and mushrooms. Slices are decently sized. Service was quick and friendly. Overall, great place to meet up for lunch if you're in the area!

Great single-item thin-crust pizzas at a cozy downtown location near Aloha Tower. Staff is friendly and welcoming and you can help yourself to packs of parmesan and pepper flakes. Restrooms are out back, should you need them. Wish they had more menu items, however!

Best pizza I've had on the island, I crave it constantly! The pepperoni has a nice spice to it, and the dough is PERFECT. Crunchy outside but fluffy inside. I come here when I miss NY pizza. I showed it to my friends and now we all love it haha

After looking over the menu options, we stood waiting for quite a while before anyone acknowledged us or took our order. The manager seemed rude and unwelcoming, which immediately set a negative tone for the visit. Looking back we should have trusted our first impression, but we decided to give it a chance and see what the hype was about. We each ordered a slice of pizza and took it outside to eat. After eating , we walked past the glass wall of the cafe and I noticed the manager handling and mixing flour with his bare hands, with the flour mixture covering his hands and forearms. I didn't expect to see food prep without disposable gloves and it made me uncomfortable. The pizza itself didn't make up for the experience. At around $22 per slice, I was expecting something exceptional or life-changing, instead, it was pretty underwhelming. The flavor, texture, and overall quality just didn't justify the premium price. Between the unfriendly service, concerns about food handling, and the disappointing pizza, I don't feel the experience was worth the cost of overpriced slices of pizza and I will not be returning nor will I recommend Little G Cafe to others. There are plenty of other pizza spots in Honolulu, including Boston's Pizza, that offer better value and a much more welcoming atmosphere.

They have some creative other slices like vodka sauce with pesto etc which are tasty but if you're a pizza purist and lover you can't go wrong with two cheese slices. There aren't much frills so you can have water or soda from their mini fridge. Almost like going to a corner pizza place in the city. Sandwiches available sometimes. We go early for lunch on Sundays and grab a seat outside. The proprietor was especially kind and friendly to my FIL and I appreciated that. Overall this is the second best NY style pizza place after black shamrock by a small margin - the Jersey pie at shamrock with its awesome sauce and perfect crust is hard to beat but don't think you can order it by the slice. So very very close.

We were warmly greeted by staff, and the ambiance of the place was sophisticated but not over the top. You can choose if you like to order ala carte or AYCE. We chose the AYCE (Gourmet Pizza Experience), which gave us an option to try any of their 20+ savory pizzas and 5 sweet pizzas. The pizza slices were a bit smaller than a regular slice, which I honestly think it's a good thing if your goal is to try as much flavors as you want. The ingredients used were really fresh, which you can taste in each bite. We ordered a salad on the side to balance out all the pizza slices we had, and it was perfect. Also, you get 20% off ala carte items when you get the AYCE experience. My favorites: Savory: Honey and Brie, Four Cheese, Margherita Originale Sweet: Banana and White Chocolate Service was amazing, the staff were very attentive and they are able to get the right timing for when we're supposed to be offered a pizza flavor. Not kid-friendly, rude hostess, bland marinara…read more I was staying near this restaurant on vacation with a 3 year old toddler. For anyone who doesn't have a 3 y.o., they can be very picky eaters. Since Sao Paolo was in walking distance, I called to ask if they serve a child's portion of spaghetti and marinara, which the girl on the phone confirmed. I reiterated that I was asking about a children's portion of spaghetti and marinara, which she confirmed. I asked a third time that it would be spaghetti and plain red sauce (nothing spicy, no meat bits, etc), and got a "yes." I placed an order, waited 15 minutes and walked down there to pick it up. The hostesses were friendly and I paid $18 (plus 10% tip) for the small bowl of pasta. They asked me how my day was going, and I joked that it would be better now, since I could finally give my kid his favorite "red spaghetti." I walked back to my hotel room to feed my child, but when I opened the container, I let out a loud frustrated sigh when I saw a bowl of penne and marinara, not spaghetti. Again, this is for a TODDLER, and my toddler only eats spaghetti, not penne. In frustration, I called Sao Paulo and explained the situation. When I told the young hostess (who obviously doesn't have children) that my toddler doesn't eat penne, he only eats spaghetti, she actually laughed at me on the phone, which I found to be very rude. I told her this is not funny, that I'm desperately trying to feed my picky toddler on vacation, and that I specifically asked for spaghetti - several times - on the phone. She said she would have to consult her manager, which I found odd, because honestly, we're talking about probably 50 cents worth of pasta to this restaurant, which I paid $18 for. That's a 3,500% profit. After putting me on hold for several minutes, the hostess told me they would give me another children's portion of actual spaghetti at no extra charge. That "no extra charge" part was emphasized to me, like they're making a great sacrifice by giving me another 50 cents worth of pasta. I also looked at their kids menu online while trying to resolve the situation, and it says "perfectly cooked pasta" with marinara, NOT penne, so I don't understand their problem here. If their kids menu had said "penne" specifically, I would understand how this was my mistake, not theirs. My wife volunteered to get the replacement spaghetti and marinara because she could tell I might not be very polite to the hostess for laughing at me on the phone. She came back with a second container of... PLAIN spaghetti with NO marinara sauce, which again, my toddler would not eat. Our only solution was to rub the penne on the spaghetti to get as much marinara on it as possible. (The things parents do for their kids...) My toddler then ate some. I would estimate there was probably 10 cents worth of marinara sauce on the penne. So Sao Paolo saved themselves 10 cents by giving me dry replacement spaghetti. While all this happened, my toddler had a 30 minute meltdown in our hotel room because his dada had promised him his favorite "red spaghetti" when I first placed the order, only to get screwed by Sao Paolo twice. I believe the manager at Sao Paulo gave us dry spaghetti on purpose as a sort of f-you to us. This was a very mean-spirited thing to do to a family traveling with a young child, even if we're just a bunch of stupid haole. It was definitely not keeping with the "aloha spirit." I would remind all employees at Sao Paolo that they are supposed to practice Kokua and Lokomaika'i, even to mainlanders. If you're a parent with a picky eater child, don't count on Sao Paolo restaurant to listen to you or care about your situation. They are actively rude to and dismissive of parents traveling with young children. They will act like giving you 50 cents worth of pasta is a big deal, even if their mistake caused the whole problem in the first place. BTW, I ate the "perfectly cooked" penne. It was overcooked and mushy (the pasta fell apart while I ate it), and the "house-made" marinara was bland. It tasted like canned Chef Boyardee.

The menu selection is large ranging from pasta to pizza. They have a lot of different types and the appetizers were great as well. They also have a private parking lot, which is always a plus. Service was good, and they offer pizzas in addition to their pasta dishes. I ordered the Linguini Pink Scampi, which was quite tasty. The pasta was generously coated in a rich, creamy pink sauce, with several large shrimp nestled throughout. The dish was hearty and satisfying, although my only complaint was that the shrimp still had their tails attached, which made them a little inconvenient to eat. My spouse ordered the lasagna, which arrived covered in a generous layer of melted cheese and Parmesan. It looked rich and hearty, but he found it a bit too gooey, with what he felt was too much red sauce and cheese. The lasagna noodles were also overcooked, taking away from the overall texture. For dessert, I had the Affogato. The creamy vanilla gelato slowly melting beneath a shot of espresso made for a simple but enjoyable finish to the meal. The contrast between the rich coffee and sweet, cold gelato was quite nice. Overall, it was a good experience. There were a few things that could have been better, but we'd definitely consider coming back again to try some of the other dishes.

We ordered the Repetti pizza and fettuccine with diavolo sauce and meatballs. We also had the Caesar salad and focaccia bread with marinara sauce. Our server was Grace. Grace was so friendly and knowledgeable and professional. In addition to the food, Grace made the dining experience exceptional. We sat outside and even though it was a very hot day, the temperature was very comfortable under the roofed area. The Pinot Grigio was excellent! Our meal was brought out in a timely manner and Grace was an attentive server. The Caesar dressing is perfection! The diavolo sauce was delicious and just-right spicy. We loved the meatballs and the fettuccine was cooked perfectly. The pizza!!!!! Wow. Just the right amount of crisp in the crust and the toppings were a delicious combination of flavors. The focaccia with marinara could have been a meal for me. The bread was hot and crispy while also being soft and savory. I couldn't get enough of the marinara. We had a lot of leftovers and ate some for dinner and still have more for tomorrow. Repetti's will be a new place for us to dine and bring friends as often as possible. We were so impressed and could not have wanted any of the experience to be different. Fantastic in every way!
