Eggscelent waffle (waffle, scrambled eggs, bacon, oranges ~$17) + coconut mocha coffee
Amelia W.

Great service and the food was fast! The coffee was also amazing and it was a great value for what you get. Love that you can sit and overlook the beach and it's an affordable place.

Yummy coffee. Regular latte was so smooth, not acidic or bitter. Service was kind. Love the beach vibe!

We stopped by Hawaiian Aroma Caffe for breakfast because Vintage Island Coffee was ridiculously packed and we needed a place to grab food quickly before walking over to the zoo. Overall, it was pretty underwhelming. The acai bowl was very average and the fruit didn't taste fresh (honestly it felt like canned fruits). Coffee was also subpar and nothing memorable. If anything, the pesto sandwich my wife got was the best dish here. The space itself is very pretty and the service was okay, but overall this felt like a very standard cafe you'd find anywhere in Huntington or Newport Beach (for the SoCal peeps). If you're in Waikiki with limited breakfast options, it does its job.

Marissa K.

Stopped by here for breakfast and tried the waffles with fresh fruit and an acai bowl. The waffles were delicious and perfectly crisp, topped with nicely fresh fruit--definitely a highlight. The acai bowl was just okay, not particularly memorable, but still decent. The spot has a nice vibe and friendly service, making it a comfortable place for a casual breakfast.

I love this place. The Dolce Banana coffee is a favorite of mine and I found a review I posted here from 2016 for one of their previous locations, that is how long I have been a fan. This visit for brekky was great. An early Saturday in Waikiki, we stopped in for acai bowls and coffee, picked a table outside, and had a really relaxing visit. Located at the end of the busy Kalakaua strip where it settles down, just before you reach the Honolulu Zoo, this is a great location to sit and relax. Nice music was playing, not a familiar Playlist which was nice to hear something new yet trendy. Views of the ocean and sounds of the waves if you sit outside, or indoor seating is available. If you are not staying in Waikiki, you can find nearby parking at the zoo lot or side streets (a lot less expensive than in the hotel lots). They have more than one location in the area so if this is not close to you, look online to see if another spot may be. Their coffee is worth it.

I ate breakfast here every day for a week and was never disappointed. It can get busy so coffees can take a few minutes but it's worth the wait. Servers are friendly. Environment is cool and they have good music playing. They have sandwiches and waffles and fruit bowls.

We happened to stumble upon this caffe and were enticed in by their amazing pizza deals. They had a pizza and beer for $12 or pizza and cocktail combo for $15. I oped for the pizza and a frozen strawberry margarita. Both the food and the beverages were crafted to perfection . The pizza came out quickly -it's a personal pan size - about the size of an 8x4 flatbread. Service was fantastic and friendly. They have great daily happy hour. If you are looking for a quick lunch spot this is a place to check out for sure in between shopping or as a break from the beach !

Good place for happy hour , place is nice and clean and has really good lighting food is good and so are the drinks I liked the food an drinks , I wish there was softer seating that would have been nice but the service is fast and the staff was pleasant

Latte ( hot )

The Hawaiian aroma Café is so convenient from where we're staying. All the servers here are all kind and friendly with each other. It's nice to come into an establishment where everyone can have fun. Brings out some positive vibes. Very cool that there's seating inside or you can sit near the pool. The breakfast here is good and for reasonable price. The last time we had breakfast here we ordered the traditional waffle, two side of eggs and side of bacon. Of course we had to grab a hot latte for our coffee. The latte was good but more on the creamier side. Our breakfast came out nice and hot! Really liked that, even though this place was pretty busy! I would definitely come back here.

I popped into the Waikiki Walls location looking to grab a quick breakfast to start my day. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that it was very clean, bright, very open space with a modern touch. It was nice to people watch and enjoy breakfast while sitting outside. We got the Berry Acai Bowl with granola, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, bee pollen & honey. We also ordered the Bacon Bagel with sweet & spicy mustard, crispy bacon, egg patty and cheddar cheese. We received fast, friendly service at a great price!

Stop by this cute little spot for happy hour from 12-7pm The service was fast. The food was good.

Iced tea & iced vanilla latte
Jaimie P.

Popped in after surfing at Waikiki beach in the morning. We ordered an iced vanilla latte, iced tea (unsweetened), a caprese sandwich, and traditional waffle plate. Drinks were a great little pick me up and food was delicious. We ended up ordering to go so we ate while we walked, but it was still delicious. Not cheap as nothing is in the touristy areas, but I appreciate that the prices are reasonable.

The ambiance is very cozy, we had a table in the back corner which made it feel like we had our own area which I appreciated. If you like vodka-based drinks with some fruitiness, I highly recommend the Meet Cute cocktail. We ordered our food family style and had our server advise on the number of orders. Standouts were the rice cakes with crab, cowboy salad, kalbi steak, and steamed clams. Service was attentive and nice. FYI - there is a $14 outside dessert fee if you're bringing a birthday cake, etc.

Inside, the lighting is dim and cozy, and they have live music playing which really adds to the atmosphere. It felt intimate and perfect for a special night out. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the wait time for our food was very reasonable. One of our favorite things we tried was the kimchee flight, which was absolutely amazing. The real standouts of the night, though, were the drinks and desserts. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. My only small critique is that I wish there were a few more appetizer options on the menu. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back for another date night.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

Tucked on the second floor of a Piikoi Parkway building, it feels like stepping back in time, a true bespoke bar with vintage art, moody lighting, and comfy couches that make it perfect for couples or a night out with friends. We sat at the bar, which was a highlight, Michael and Tony were welcoming, easy to talk story with, and clearly know their craft. I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit. The sandwich came out hot and crisp, and when you took a bite the cheese pulled away just right, that perfect melt, with the salami adding a savory kick. The tomato soup was fresh, bright, and made for dipping you didn't want to stop. We were welcomed with a table that had our name on it, a small touch that goes a long way. Prices are on point for the quality and experience you're getting. It's a bit of a hidden, hip spot, not for a quick drink but for when you want to sit, relax, and enjoy it. Parking is tight, but you can park at Ala Moana and walk over, and it's worth it. Next time we're coming back for Grandma's Old Fashioned and the pork belly bao buns.
