Ordinarily the food is fresh and delicious. Today, not so much. I'm not sure if the regular people are off today, but this experience is one that would make me not return. The food was not freshly cooked. I ordered orange chicken and egg foo young; the egg foo young was fine, however the orange chicken was old and it didn't taste like it normally tastes. I'm extremely disappointed as this is a fave restaurant of mine. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was also not freshly cooked. The rice didn't taste as good either; I don't usually put anything on the rice I had to add soy and sweet and sour sauce. This is the spot we carry out from for Chinese food. It's always pretty quick and scalding hot. For apps the egg rolls, crab Rangoon and pot stickers are solid. We always get the bbq pork appetizer as an entree. It's is always good but sometimes it is great as the meat is all super tender and juicy. Most entrees we have had are tasty and have a good amount of meat. Our go to is the combo fried rice. We just cannot duplicate fried rice like this at home. Something we tried recently and it was outstanding is the Chicken Chow Fun. We are looking to branch out from our regular order and try some more new to us ones. read more

My Mom had a horrible experience with this establishment on more than one occasion. The woman at the front was very disrespectful and would not take her order. For this woman to yell at my Mom, a senior Black woman, is unconscionable. She has not only lost my parents, but I will NEVER spend money with this restaurant. King's Wok staff have overcharged me in both of the times I visited during Summer 2021. The first time, they "accidentally" transposed the numbers when running my credit card, and they would not refund the overcharge on the card, they would only give me cash. They insisted they charged me correctly, but didn't provide any receipt, so I had to take in all my food and show it to them, counting it out and proving that they overcharged me by about $10. Today, they made up the price for a menu item that was listed as $9.25, and they said they had raised it to $10.25. When I told them that they were trying to charge me $11.25 including tax, and that their claimed price of $10.25 plus tax would be even more than $11.25, the clerk stammered over and over that I would have to pay their "pickup" price even if their menu and Grubhub stated the dish should be $9.25. The clerk seemed to be making up the prices on the spot, depending on who came in the door. I don't plan on dining here again, and will make sure to share with everyone around here that their prices aren't clear, and to watch your credit card charges carefully to make sure not to get ripped off. read more

My parents get their Chinese food from here and I prefer it to the other Evergreen Park Chinese restaurants. It's very cheap and a good value. Lunch specials are between $5-7 and it gets you an entree, fried rice, an egg roll, and a can of pop. Just add $1 to the price and you can get the lunch specials any time. I really like their veggie soup. My parents usually opt for their egg foo young, which feeds two people. Crab Rangoon is good. Fried rice could use a little more salt, but just add some soy sauce and it's fine. I always add mushrooms to my fried rice and they are always fresh and tasty. Overall, this place is worth a try. It's nothing amazing, but it is really good and better than the other Chinese restaurants in EP. read more
