Disappointed with the service. I came here for the lunch special that ended at 3 PM. I was here but the clerk was on the phone. I yelled to him that I was here for the lunch special. I called and waited after the phone was answered a good 2 minutes. When I was given attention I asked how much an order of Gen Tso chicken. I was asked what size? I asked what size do you have and how much are they. I was put on hold for five minutes before I hung up. When I called back over a dozen times they would not answer. I've been past this place a hundred times--and today was it's day. Don't let the decor fool you, this place is pretty great. I try to call ahead for order twice no answer so I decided to go into the establishment to my surprise the worker was blatantly ignoring the calls but was answering cell phone calls. the worker was very rude hasty with the order taking rolling eyes refused to give a receipt nor sweet and sour sauce. he yelled at customers rushed with given orders overall the service was bad that will be my first and last time going. one customer even stated that he is always like that. The food is good. It's fast service and has pretty good portions for the price. Regardless of what you order- chicken or beef, the meat is always tender. I can no longer support a local business that does not behave as though the business has an appreciation for its customers. The owner (Ming) is very rude. He is not accommodating. So after reading reviews I was reluctant to eat here but it was on my way to the house and it was getting late and there was no line inside so I decided to go for it. They have a very extensive menu so I took a while to decide and prices were great. I decided to NOT take a chance and just order Jumbo shrimp fried rice. I ordered large and it was a good size. I also ordered a veggie egg roll. It was ready in 15mins and the restaurant looked clean. **Drum Roll** it was delicious! And it was a lot of shrimp and it was clean shrimp. I was so happy. This restaurant is so pretty! Their lunch specials are limited. Because my choices were limited I ordered a small jumbo shrimp fried rice. They gave me soy sauce. I requested sweet and sour instead. He wanted to charge me, I asked if I could just give back the soy packets and the owner said no. No willingness to compromise. I tried to order a Chicken chow fun but they said that they didn't have the ingredients due to the fact it wasn't a popular selling item. So then I seen that they also had Thai food on the menu. So upon seeing that I decided to order Thai fried rice and Chicken pad thai. They asked me how spicy I wanted the rice...."really spicy or a little spicy".... I wanted it very spicy...Thai fried rice is typically very spicy. Blah blah blah we get our food home and I get ready to eat my food and was shocked at what they had done to the pad thai....They completely smothered it in red hot sauce! Then I look at the noodles...They are not glass noodles! They looked like ramen noodles! Then I try the fried rice...it's not spicy at all and smothered in soy sauce! Im happy the previous owner was in a position to retired BUT SAD she gave the business to her nephew. The prices have changes and they're sky HIGH. The food doesn't taste the same anymore! Like most folks who live in the area, I really do enjoy Chi Tung, but I typically only go there to dine in. Oriental Chop Suey is definitely my go to for takeout Chinese. I've been going to this place for years and absolutely love their Chinese food! They are a dine in restaurant but it is small inside so I always get it to go. I hadn't been there in a while so when I went I found out that they have new owners as the previous owner had retired and I think sold the business to her nephew. The food still tasted the same to me, but their prices went up slightly. But the portions are still huge so I'm not really complaining. Tried this today for the 1st time. I recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a Chinese spot besides ChiTung. I tried the egg drop and vegetable soup which were kind of bland didnt taste like much. The crab rangoon was nice and crispy I did enjoy them very much. For the main dishes I ordered the Mongolian Beef & Chicken with broccoli. Mongolian beef was very good and I would definitely get it again. The chicken with broccoli was also good but not great. Everything here is reasonably priced so I do recommend this place. I personally like chitung more but chitung is also a lot more expensive. read more

Very good Chinese food, I have had a variety of dishes can say I've never been disappointed by any. Flavorful seasoned food and hefty portions for a very reasonable price. I always order out personally, it does have a few seats for you to sit there and eat but it doesn't look very comfortable. But overall good eats! read more

I just moved to this area and really hope this would be my new hot spot... noooo.. Went on a friday 5 pm... and because i was trying out the spot i wanted to order a variety of small dishes. #1 pagang curry, response we arent doing thai food today. Ok.. i was mostly interested in there curry and asked for a shrimp and curry with pan fried noodles. .he stated that they didnt have pan fried noodles ..he also stated that it would be a 30 min wait. . Misunderstanding i said ok, i can get my noodles, but it going to be a 30 min wait.. he said no... no noodles and a wait.. its friday isnt the weekend when most people get Chinese how are you missing ingredients ?...i ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp and curry, and pot stickers.. came back 30 mins later, drove home... bland shrimp and curry... good fried rice, but u can get that anywhere.. the pot stickers werent pot stickers.. the pot stickers had more the texture of hollow sticky buns... they were only steamed and dried at all for that crispy edge. Steamed.. no color.. not caring for the limp shell. I tossed it to my dog . She liked it.. but she also eats my cats poop... i took the meat which was a red lump that looked like th3 waste that was left over after the prime cuts of meats that hot dogs are made of were left... and putnon the limp shell. No veggies or anything else jusr the pink slime meat..after taking a bland bite of that with the potsticker sauce. UPDATE: They've undergone management changes not for the better. The extended menu is hit or miss and my favorite dish is smaller and more expensive. Excited to find they now have online ordering, I arrived only to find they had received but not even looked at the order! No apologies, just "You wait! The menu has pretty much any dish you could want and the portions are a good size for the price. They use white meat chicken and they don't fill the dishes with cheap vegetables such as celery and carrots like you'll sometimes see. I give it 3 stars because it's not as flavorful as I would like, but it does the trick when I'm craving Chinese takeout. read more

This is a hidden gem in Beverly. Although you could dine there, it's primarily a take-out place. The food is quite good, prepared very quickly and exceedingly inexpensive. I almost don't want to write a review of it as I'd rather keep it a secret. The owner could not be more friendly either. The best part is that if it works for you, you can order your food on the train and pick it up right when you get off and go home with delicious, affordable Chinese food! I have had chicken fried rice, shrimp with pea pods, chicken and broccoli and it's all been tasty. One last thing, the chef will also accommodate you if you desire no MSG in your food.
