I am always on the lookout for restaurants that I never have heard of that serve very good food. I didn't have time to eat in, so my review is based on my food that I picked up here. I stopped in midday midweek and discovered a full parking lot with cars constantly coming and going, which is a good sign. Picked up my food and to my surprise I was impressed by the generous portions of food that were in my containers. In a situation like this, I of course ordered way too much food. In order to make a fair assessment I ordered a cross section of food from their pan Asian menu which includes Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai. I had the teriyaki chicken lunch special, pad Thai with shrimp lunch special, and pork ramen. The lunch specials also included Chinese egg rolls and two coca colas. None of them where the best I have had, but they were pretty darn good enough and satisfying enough, that I can designate them a great bargain. In all honesty each order was enough for 3 to 4 people. I didn't have to cook lunch or dinner for the next few days! If you are, or are not, on a tight food budget I do recommend a stop in here for a great value meal. read more

I live in the North suburbs and tried this place when visiting my sister in Riverdale. At that time, online ordering was an option through DoorDash or UberEats. Now, they do their own delivery & they will not deliver 10-12 minutes away (4.9 miles)!!!! I am shocked. Most delivery options will go up to 10 miles. DoorDash or UberEats deliver even further. We were ready to order almost $100 in food but because their driver is lazy or delivery is limited, it's not possible. SMH I remember the food being good so I'll give 2 stars. It would be more if I didn't have to stop working drive or get a ride there to order food. Offering delivery through DoorDash or UberEats would be a great improvement & likely increase restaurant revenue. read more

This place is definitely a hidden gem. I always noticed it but didn't realize it was a sit down restaurant. I had take out from them and dined in. My rating is based off both. I ordered sushi, ramen, and shrimp rolls. The sushi was delicious and more than filling. My daughter had the seafood ramen. I tatsed it and the broth seemed a bit thicker than I'm used to and definitely needed to add salt and pepper to it. It is a decent size on the inside. There's a separate area for take out. Wonderful service from start to finish! We tried a little of everything and the flavors were so good and the portions were large enough to have leftovers. Really nice size dining area that was separate from the takeout area that had its own entrance and I thought that was a great design feature because it was nice and quiet on our side. Went here for the first time and was very impressed. We got there at 11:30 am and we were the only ones there. Place was clean and "fancy"- their napkins and table cloth were legit and they had a robot delivering your food. We ordered the lunch specials and they were huge portions! I was very surprised! I had the Mongolian beef, husband had orange chicken and they both came with fried rice, eggroll, and can of pop. We also ordered salt and pepper squid which was really good as well. Their menu has a wide variety and we can't wait to come back to try more. Recommend going to their website to check out the menu because there is just so much to choose from! Staff were very friendly as well! Only thing to be aware of is that they do charge an 18% service fee. My family and I came here for dinner last night for a more low key Father's Day and we really enjoyed our experience! We were a little nervous at first because we were the only ones in the restaurant for a bit but the menu was plentiful, the restaurant was clean, and the service was great! They have seafood boil options as well as a wide variety of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai menu options. We ended up getting one of their cooked shrimp and cream cheese rolls, potstickers, shrimp pad thai, orange chicken, walnut shrimp, and lemongrass chicken to split amongst the table. There were 6 of us and we ended up taking home 4 take-away boxes because the servings were so plentiful! Food was served quickly and, while on the heavier and saucier side, all tasted delicious! As a fun surprise, our food was served by a robot on wheels! I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new option on the South Side. However, we've gone a few times over the last few months and I've noticed that they just don't seen to care any longer. Let's start with a lot of the viewable dining and prep areas are filled with boxes and boxes (to the ceiling in some cases) of bulk restaurant supplies. It's like having dinner in a warehouse. Next, the service is just so/so (and hope you don't end up with the little old guy), they don't come and check on food or if you need anything else. Finally a nearly $10 "service fee", for what? The inside of the dining area was quite spacious and clean. Both dishes did not come out in the same time but was able to try the pad thai first which was saucy and tasted decent, there were plenty of shrimp which I was surprised. The cashier (short skinny elderly guy) is super rude and yells at customers when they don't understand what he's saying. Unfortunately, that was the case for me. I couldn't understand something he had said and I asked him to repeat it one more time. I had politely asked him, '"I'm sorry what was that again?" And he started yelling on top his lungs repeating everything he had told me and proceeded to yell even louder as he was explaining the menu to me. I was shocked at how he treated me because the place had barely opened (it was still the morning) and he had the audacity to start shouting disrespectfully. If that's how you are going to treat customers all because of a misunderstanding, then how do you expect us to come back? He had no idea he was being super rude to his long time customers. I finally tried this place during covid when you could only order out. I went there specifically to support Asian businesses during the pandemic. I was pleased. Then it seemed less and less pleasing. The sushi seems to be the only thing I have enjoyed consistently. The last time it wasn't really great. I figured it was an off night. Scary thought with sushi. My other family members order Chinese food. It's always mushy and the mushu is HORRIBLE. I am over them. They got order wrong tonight and when I called they said I wasn't charged (and maybe I wasn't but no itemized receipt) and I have only the six-month-old menu to go off of. The Schewcuan beef was tasteless with unedible burnt peppers, I had to throw the whole order of spicy rice away because it was spoiled and the bbq pork was like slices of pork in tomato sauce. I'd strongly suggest IF you are not, to check Food Critic restaurants, look at those restaurants and what you see and read, then MAYBE try here. I ordered a Shrimp Fried Rice and a Small Shrimp Egg Foo Young. My SHRIMP FRIED RICE had leftover, and very dried pieces of every meat used in the restaurant from earlier or day before. I've NEVER bought a Shrimp Fried Rice NO one would eat. It was made from what I believe to have been bad leftover prepped scrapping's, and NONE of the basics for it. Now, as for the Shrimp Egg Foo Young. The outer part was partially 'black,' inside filled with bean sprouts, peas, carrots, etc. Really not too sure, but again, I have NO idea what it was OR what Country's food this was suppose to be. This is my Chinese food to go place. I've been coming here when it was known as see-through Chinese Kitchen. Everything they fix is tasty and you get plenty of it. They now have where they serve Thai and sushi. For carryout there's not a long wait and it is fresh. They also have lunch specials which is plenty of food it might be a little bit more than some other places but the quality is wonderful and the carryout section is clean and the dining area is calm ing and you can really enjoy your food. I live in Calumet City and there are several other Chinese food restaurants in the area but this one it's worth taking two buses to get to. read more
