    Beef fried rice
    Sonya G.

I visited this place for the first time ever! I've lived in Morgan park most of my life born and raised and never came to this place until tonight ... and when I say disappointed would not be the appropriate word in reference to the food here. First of all .. did the owner die?? Cuz that's usually when food goes to sh¡+ And this place use to get high praises. Egg rolls- 7.5/10 (small as tf,but the best thing I got tonight) Beef fried rice- -2/10 (beef stale, taste like it sat out raw at room temp) Crab Rangoon- -5/10 (‼EEEEYUCCKKK‼) full of white onion Combination rice - 5/10 (rice tasted like it was 2 day old rice instead of day old, too many huge chunks of onion) Would I return... probably NOT . This is my first AND LAST time coming here. #notsorry

    93. Jumbo Shrimp Egg Foo Young Lunch Special

Visited this place during lunch for the 1st time in some years. I'll start with the good parts: quick service. Yep, that's it! That's my The guy that took my order ended a phone call and just started at me. No greeting, just and eventual "yeah?" I stated what I'd like and he responded, "that's it?". Now for the food : This place only gives 1 egg foo yung patty, most places 2 in the lunch specials. It was a bit burnt and overcooked. The egg roll(not shown) was mostly shell, no filling -I fed it to the seagulls. The so called fried rice was flavorless and lacking. 4 specks of green onion, no bean sprouts, I don't think it touched any oil or a wok. The interior was shabby. Besides the person and the cook, 3 workers sat on their phones. This is a kitchen that I won't bother to see again.

I am disappointed and out of $40 for an undercooked and under-flavored order with below average customer service. I ordered a large veggie rice, large shrimp fried rice and 6 chicken wings. I expected freshly cut vegetables (stalks of broccoli, cut tri color bell peppers and fresh cut onions). Instead they gave me fried rice with small cut carrots. I also expected the rice to be flavorful. Instead the rice was bland. The bite sized salad shrimp were deveined. I expected the chicken wings to be cooked to the proper temperature. Instead when I broke the wings apart, there was still blood at the joints. After recooking them in my air fryer for an extra 12 minutes, I didn't desire them anymore. This See thru kitchen location will not get my business in the future.

This place is one of my favorite been ordering my food here for a very long time. My food is always fresh and cook to order. I really enjoy there jumbo shrimp fried rice Cook soft with no soy sauce.. And veggie egg rolls and some times I try new things and I once and a while order there chicken wings and spicy dishes. Enjoy.

Last time for food ! The boba tea I must say it good! pictures below f I didn't have to get my handicapped mother dress and back in the car I would send it back!

We went to grab a quick bite at the See Thru in my new neighborhood. I used to go to the one on Cottage Grove. I paid and have a practice of checking my receipt to see if I was charged the correct tax. Sure enough, the tax was way higher than it should have been.(10.25%) I told the gentleman at the register and calculated the tax again in front of him. He kept saying he didn't know what the tax should be and to talk to the boss. I just wanted him to refund the difference. He cops an attitude so I leave. I have been noticing the last few years that fast food joints and some sit down places constantly charge too much tax. Some areas in Chicago can charge extra, not Beverly though. The rate is 10.25% ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS. These places are getting over. On top of all this, the food was just okay.

Disappointed and disgusting! The EFY was greasy, shrimp chop Suey was okay but the shrimp fried rice was burnt with tiny shrimps. Forgot, the egg roll was little with no meat in the middle. Pass....

My shrimp fried rice with a bonus.

This is the place to eat in Chicago in my opinion, and has made every other restaurant look bad…read more it's the absolute best meal in the city, at a great price, with a super awesome staff. I bring everyone i know here at some point. Only negative thing to say is that i no longer feel anything about anywhere else that I eat. Im okay with that though, because in my opinion this is how you run a restaurant. They are always full, but it is always worth the wait!

Let me start my saying: coming here alone was a mistake. Even a party of two is pushing your luck…read more Three hungry, voracious people maybe, four-plus ideally. Pretty much everything is served family-style, and designed for groups to order and share various dishes. I ordered the Crab Rangoons, West Lake Beef Soup, and the Traditional Hong Sue Pork (Pork Belly). The Crab Rangoons were fantastic. They were served fresh from the fryer, still piping hot! The wonton was thin and crisp, and the filling was tasty. Of note, it leaned slightly away towards funky (fish sauce) and towards sweet. The filling also used onion! I am by no means complaining, just notes for completeness. This is also the only dish I could finish, as it was four rangoons. The West Lake Beef Soup was well executed and balanced in terms of ingredients. I also loved the pepperiness! I took home most of. It, and happily finished it off in the next couple of days. My only note as a matter of preference is that I would prefer a little less starch, and a little more salt. The Hong Sue Pork was among the softest and most tender Pork Belly I've had! Everything, including the skin part all melted in my mouth. These were in a savory, sweet, and lightly salty sauce which gave both the protein and the rice to which they are added fantastic flavor. Further, while not a vegetable-forward dish, I liked the addition of bok choy. When it comes to the service, it was all around fantastic! The staff is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I especially want to recognize their incredible ability to read the room. The staff didn't come up while I was stuffing my face, but when I looked up and briefly made eye-contact, that was correctly taken as a cue to approach. Food also came out in a reasonable time frame considering how busy it was. Finally, we come to the prices. Due to the prices of pretty much everything, I was pleasantly surprised! The volume and quality of food came out to a non-shocking price! Final verdict: My only negative is that MCCB is not solo-diner friendly. One is free to take food home, but it's not the same. I guess I have only myself to blame, for I need more friends. Would return?: 1,000%, just not alone. Would recommend?: Absolutely, for a group.

We ordered like the PERFECT amount of food and best variety. Roast duck: I honestly don't know if I've ever had duck before, but I'm a duck believer now. The skin on theirs was the perfect crispy shatter texture and the duck was sooooo juicy! I don't know why I was always so worried about it being gamey. They give you fluffy steamed bao buns, a sauce, and scallions on the side as well as duck fried rice! Turnip cake: Obviously a must any time I come to dim sum. I've never seen turnip in any other form than this. Japanese salt & pepper tofu: My FAVORITE dish ever. Any fried salt & pepper tofu always makes me happy. They use a creamy egg-like tofu and the outside is lightly crispy with amazing aromatics stir fried in. Steamed white rice on the side is perfect with this. Loved everything else my dinner buds picked and we were super full by the end!
