Date of visit: September 15, 2025 I used to come here regularly with some co-workers when I would visit the office over on this side of town on occasion and I remember it being small but mighty in its buffet offerings and though it's been years, that has not changed! The buffet has several options (though as far as I am concerned, sesame chicken is the only Chinese food one needs) as well as soup and fortune cookies up top if you want something sweet to top off your meal. The sesame chicken is quite good and on par with other Chinese restaurants and they took care to replenish the rice--and entrees--often. I also tried the mushroom pork but found the meat to be fatty and the sauce a bit flavorless, so I will stick with the sesame chicken in the future. Opportunities to get to five stars? A better water option than the small pitcher sitting on the counter, perhaps a large beverage stand with ice to keep the water cold? And service could be a little better, the interaction at the front counter came across very robotic and transactional. Had I not known the food was good, I might have thought twice about sitting down! read more

I have to say I'm very impressed. I've always liked the food here, (especially their peppery salt chicken which is phenomenal), and my daughter loves their chicken lo mein), but King's Wok Pewaukee completely remodeled the place and it looks fantastic. It went from a dive to a destination. Outstanding! I definitely prefer this King's Wok to the one in Hartland. I usually get takeout, but I do dine in occasionally, and now I will certainly go more often. Im quite impressed with the updates. read more

Worst Chinese food I've had in a while. The egg rolls are just pre-made frozen ones, they are awful. The chicken teriyaki skewers had white and dark meat chicken mixed together in one. High school aged kid working during school hours. read more

I was in the area around lunch time today so I jumped on yelp to see what I had bookmarked in the area and my first choice was closed so I went here instead. The place is in a strip mall and its take out or delivery only because the dining room is closed. You can't even walk in and your payment goes through a little door and the drawer below it slides out your order, be careful because I gave a $20 for my $8 order and I was $2 and some change back and I said I gave you a $20 where's the rest of my change and they gave me my $10 back. I thought that I would try the beef with vegetables lunch special that comes with pork fried rice and a pork egg from the app menu. The egg roll was the tiny kind and very average with not much flavor. The pork fried rice was soggy because it's at the bottom of the container and they slapped the beef with vegetables on top of it, really. The veggies were cooked to mush which was disappointing while the beef was thin and somewhat tender but not very flavorful as was the whole meal. Overall my lunch was super average and I probably will not return because nothing impressed me at all. read more

Wow what happened to this place? It's been about 4 months since I've ordered but probably never again. Fried rice had zero egg. White freezer burnt hard peas. If that wasn't bad enough, the shrimp egg foo yung had lumpy gravy and the shrimp was VERY fishy. Also the fried wontons were hard as a rock. This is the worst Chinese I've had in a long time. Everything was really bland, mushy yet dry all at the same time, brown and sad. Nothing was fresh. The meat was questionable at best. We barely ate anything it was so bad. Won't be back. read more

Thursday is a most special of special days at the Wok! We get a group of fellas and go out for lunch. Thursday is Crab Rangoon day! Yes Crab Rangoons! I usually scarf down 10 or so in a sitting. They always come out hot and fresh. Eating Crab Rangoon makes me smile! Tasty yes they are! Anyways this is one of the better buffets in my book. The place is small but small in this case is better. The sound of clanging and clanking from the kitchen lets you know it's being whipped up fresh! Fresh is good and for less than $7 you can stuff your face. They do a good job and the cooking is as authentic and true to the art of Chinese food as it gets. Come early you may not get a seat otherwise. The Wok is one of the best spots near my work out in Brookfield. They got it going on! read more

The chef rudely reprimanded the poor young girl taking our order because apparently you aren't able to have white rice instead of fried rice on a dish (mmmkay). Second time eating here (first time was a year ago when there were still covid restrictions) but both times the food was AMAZING! And the prices are really good too!! Best egg drop soup and the veggie lomein is so good I always pick the bigger portion to have leftovers later. Spring rolls and crab rangoon's are a MUST. We ordered for 3 people, $60 total, for 2 orders of rangoon's, egg rolls, soup, and three "main" meals, and it was ready in 20 minutes. For sure will be back again and again. read more

We have done take out a couple of times from King's Wok. The first time the food was ok, not great but edible. This time it was just horrible. The food was flavorless and no amount of Sriracha could save it. The egg rolls were tough and bland. The beef and the chicken were mealy tasting. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options for Chinese out in Lake Country, but no matter how desperate I am for Chinese food, I will not come back here. read more

So let me start by saying that in the area i grew up i had two GREAT Chinese food options (Take Out), along with quite a few not so great places. Since i've found myself in the Northwest Milwaukee/Waukesha/Falls/Brookfield area. I've tried a few places and non and compare to local places. Then i see the great reviews for this place and gave it a go. I went there with my fiance during the week walked in and it was COLD in the restaurant i'd say it was in the mid 50's coming in from the 15 degree outside weather and still being cold in the restaurant sucked, Though the free "Hot Tea" was helpful. We ordered food to go and waited. While we waited person after person came in and picked up food, so i was really excited few minutes later food was ready, Grabbed it and left. Got home with the food un packed everything, and noticed the egg rolls are very small. and a bit more like spring rolls. The pork fried rice was i suppose you could say "typical" nothing great. the S&S Chicken was pretty good. The Crab Rangoon's were pretty heavy on the onion side so i didn't enjoy that very much. The steamed dumplings seemed very much like a out of the box/bag frozen one that majority of the Chinese take out places in the area use. My fiance ordered chicken and Mushrooms and she complained it was plain and the lack of sauce. for two "all day special combinations" Steamed Dumplings and Crab rangoon it was nearly $30 so i was a bit surprised as it's more than i'm used to for sub-par Chinese take out. Maybe the lunch buffet is better? Don't know couldn't tell you and most likely won't tell you as i doubt i'll be back anytime soon. read more

I haven't had take out Chinese in as long as I can remember - so after my haircut in Pewaukee I stopped over at King's Wok for a bite to take home. It's located in a sketchy strip mall that I wouldn't have been in at night otherwise, but the restaurant itself is brightly lit and clean. I ordered the veggie lo mein, crab rangoon and hot sour soup. Take out was done in under 10 minutes! SO fast! The small serving of lo mein was plenty for two meals, and there was a great assortment of veggies. The rangoons were surprisingly good - but the hot sour soup was pretty gelatinous, didn't finish that. I am looking forward to my leftovers today, and wish they were 20 miles closer to my house! I just wanted some good Chinese carry out and this was a solid choice! Food was ready in 10 min and everything was really fresh. He had the beef with broccoli and the broccoli pieces were huge, not overcooked and the beef was fresh and tender. We asked for water chestnuts and cashews to be added and it was perfect. I had the ma po tofu. A lot of places don't carry ma po and I love it because the tofu is not fried and young tofu is used. The sauce was on the sweet side which was different but I enjoyed it. Great lunch buffet. We stopped at King's Wok on a weekday and decided to try out the buffet. Everyone in our group left impressed. The small restaurant was nearly filled, but the food was always being refilled and rarely any tray left empty for more than a minute. The food was hot, well prepared and tasty. As a Chinese, I really don't understand why Chinese restaurants in America have to add soy sauce into everything. Soy sauce is an important ingredient in Chinese food, but we do not add it into everything. I think King's Wok is rather authentic. One of the very few Chinese restaurants I have been to that do not cook everything with soy sauce. read more

We are here twice a month at least. The food is good. It is not fancy as some place. The sweet sour chicken has a simple sweet sauce and doesn't have pinapple or peppers as other restaurants have. Ended up speaking to Cindy and other Gentleman regarding these missing items. Cindy said they knew it was missing after a while. She said she was sorry and I could come back to get it. I told her it is 7:20pm and this doesn't solve the current problem that I live 30 miles away and now someone doesn't have a meal. As I was sitting there I thought about increasing the Sweet and Sour Chicken from Pint size to Large size. When I asked the gentleman about it, he said it would be $5.78. I asked him why so much? The Small is worth $5.50 and Large is $9.45. I should be charged only $3.95. They are trying to charge me $1.83 more because the pint order was already cooked. I told them to forget it! Once the order was ready I told them I thought they were terrible for trying to over charge me on the extra chicken. That having to drive back for the mistake they made in the first place is awful Customer Service. They made the point that they gave the whole combination special. They also said that my order the previous day had a lot of special request. I told them it is there job to make sure the orders are correct for every customer. Why order take out if your not going to give me what I ordered! I told them I would probably never return to this place again and was greeted with shoulder shrug and who cares attitude. Lunch buffet left something to be desired. Very small selection, understocked. The food was OK, normal Chinese buffet standards, yet quite greasy. Things marked "spicy" were not spicy at ALL. A few years ago we moved out to Pewaukee and have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately my search continues. I have tried this place on 2 separate occasions because I realize restaurants can have an off night every once in a while. Both experiences were mediocre at best! The General Tso's was decent. The chicken was tender and sauce was typical of most other places. The breading gets soggy kind of quickly. The low point was the beef broccoli. The beef was flavorless and had a weird chewy texture. Veggies were good but the other star of dish really missed the mark. One of the bright spots of the order were the veggie egg rolls which were more like spring rolls than your traditional egg rolls at most place. I actually prefer the light crispy style which made it the highlight of meal. I will continue to drive the extra 10 mins to our regular place in Brookfield. read more

We have tried a lot on the menu but we recommend the crab wontons, potstickers, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken and the egg rolls. Sure, there aren't a lot of other options in the area, but I've tried places all around the greater Milwaukee area and this is consistently quick and tasty. Best crab rangoon I've ever had (lots of green onion and so fresh). My go-to is the Chicken with broccoli. Always fresh and delicious. I just discovered a new favorite though...chicken with Chinese vegetables (baby corn, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, water chestnuts)...it really has everything.
