I've been in a bowling league here for too many years to even remember, and it's a fun place to play. The lanes are good but the machines are (literally) from the 60's so if you need help due to a malfunction you could be waiting a while. I was actually invited in the back a couple of years ago and it was super awesome to see the machinery up close but man, the pinsetters have seen better days. So we rented 2 lanes for 2hrs with 6 pairs of shoes it cost 144$ ok not super bad I guess but the lanes kept jamming up so it took away from the hourly rate we we paid then no food at all in the whole bowling alley except for a vending machine that literally had 10 types of sodas but everyone of them was sold out except the sugar free sprite....the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting!! This was poor experience. The girl behind the counter was inaudible and afraid to talk above the ambient music playing. The computers shut down several times and it was a scavenger hunt to find someone who would help. There Cherry on top is when I asked for "2 lanes for 2 hours" she took it as 1 hour each for two lanes. The silver lining is that we didn't have to put ourselves through that second hour. Granted I decided to bring my 7 year old on league night (I didn't know), the league community was better behaved than the snotty HS aged staff, who had foul mouths (ambivalent to the nearby youngster), stared at their phones and looked seriously put out each time I had to ask them to fix the stalled equipment. Kingston bowl, like other bowling alleys, is a relic from another era. Shoes, decor, smell, all straight from the 80s. Frequenters include bowling enthusiasts, small kids, and high schoolers. We came here for a birthday party and got to reserve 6 lanes for two hours. Shoes were...run down. Bowl tech was updated with screens and keyboards but you just have to laugh at the 80s graphics that appear after a strike or spare. It was a good space for such a large group. We ordered lots of food. Don't know what we expected but the food was not good. Pizza was soggy and a sweet tomato sauce. Wings were soggy and oversauced. Drinks were cheap though which was great. From my understanding, covid is still very relevant. Be prepared to bring your own sanitizer wipes. They definitely dont clean the bowling balls after each use. My review is mostly on the "dj/mc" guy, Chewy. First off, bowling is mostly a family outing activity. And while I was here, on both sides of my lane there were children, I didnt look at any other lanes further. The music that was played was very inappropriate for the amount of young children around. As young as probably 4 years old in the lane next to me. These songs were not censored at all, and had many derogatory lyrics and curse words. On top of that, chewy is just plain rude. His sarcasm is very uncomfortable to around. He should NOT have a microphone with him everywhere he goes. Here are some things he would say to patrons: "Shes a birthday biatchhhhhhh" (said this multiple times) "Wow you are absolutely terrible at bowling" "Watch this person on lane 16 miss this, you suck" "You should go home now and quit bowling" How about, speaking words of positivity and encouragement for a change? Instead of telling people that they're bad at bowling, maybe try "you got this!" Or "you'll get it on the next one!" Holy smokes...no reviews on KB? Almost a disservice to humanity. Kingston Bowl has been around for...well...a while. It was THE place to go when I was barely legal and looking for a few drinks with friends. It was the place you went after wherever you ended up. I guess we used to bowl there, too, but it was always the bar that kept us coming back. Fast forward 20 years...I am hosting my son's 8th birthday there. How the mighty have fallen... Actually. I probably haven't been to Kingstown Bowl since my last trip around the block (late 90's). I came back for the birthday party package. Roughly $12 got me shoe rental, bowling, food, party decor, party set-up and a cool bag of tricks for every kid there . Believe me. I have done the math. Could I have done it for less? Doubt it. I have tried. Plus - having a child with a winter birthday crushes the budget. There always has to be a destination. Twenty+ kids in my house. NOPE. You have to GO somewhere and I think Kingstown Bowl is it. The place is clean and updated (for a bowling alley). The young fellow running the front end was polite, efficient and jammed some pretty cool tunes from his computer play list. The bar is way more everything than I remember. There are some really nice pool tables, card tables and an expansive full bar. Twelve or more beers on tap, including beer by the pitcher for less than $12. What can I say? I treat my party-going parents right. It is well lit. It doesn't reak of smelly feet. It is big ball bowling. They were great about putting bumpers up (prevents gutter balls). Great for kids - or adults who have been hitting the pitcher too hard. They have convenient parking off Post Road. Went to Kingston lanes as a family outing on a Tuesday, 2 other families were there. Was hoping to get my 13 yr old daughter interested in bowling. Being new to the sport I had asked the attendant to set up the rails for us. He informed us that was only for families with 10 and under. After my daughter got 14 gutter balls on her first game I politely asked again, he informed me that it wasn't him but management forbid him from allowing any group without a 10 or under from using the rails because of potential damage. However other groups with a mix of adults and kids were using them? On the second game my daughter only got 13 gutter balls, slight improvement. Up shot from bad managerial decisions and insensitive employees is that my daughter has no interest in ever doing bowling again, and as a family we will find other activities. read more

Ok, so it's a bowling alley. But, it is also a bar with a big enough stage for live music and dancing! The alley is pretty standard - they keep score for you on a screen above the lane although, the consoles themselves seem outdated. (We're talking 4 button / Minimum technology folks!) The ball selection seemed lacking for the 11-12 lb range but the guys had no problem finding suitable choices. The line at the front desk went slow but the guy behind the counter was nice. They have waitress service right at the lanes which was nice. We grabbed a bucket of beer and had a great time bowling while listening to top 40 jams and some random blasts from the past. Overall I would say the alley is a good place to have some inexpensive and laid back fun. Now for Club Roxx (bar) - I liked that they had 2 pool tables in two different areas so you could play without bumping into each other. I liked our waitress (same girl from the alley), she was very nice. What I did find odd is that they had table service for drinks but if you wanted to order food (mostly apps) you had to go up to the bar and wait for someone to take your order. The chicken fingers were good, the nachos were lame (tortillas, cheese whizz - we added chili - thank god or we would have been sooo disappointed) the kitchen forgot the sour cream we asked for but quickly got us some when asked a 2nd time. The onion rings were actually really good. The band that played "Cover Girl" was really good, playing a mix of rock, pop, etc. I have to say - it was loud! I was ok, although conversation was difficult - but saw some older folks get up and move away from the stage. The bar area is the only reason to go to Kingston Bowl. The bowling area is god awful. Rude guy behind the counter clicked my Groupon offer as redeemed then told me I couldn't use it after it was purchased an redeemed already. Not a good experience. My co-workers and I decided to go after work on a Saturday night at 8pm. The only reason this place gets two stars is because we started the night as the bar which was the only good experience. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. Once we left to go bowl, the guy at the front desk started everything downhill with how incredibly rude he was. We were trying to decide how we wanted to split the bill and pay amongst ourselves and he got very irritated with us. The bowling alley itself looks like it dropped out of the 80's in terms of being way behind in construction, decor and technology. They had a DJ that night running some contests and interacting with guests. I'll be the first person to tell you sarcasm is my first language, but he was an absolute d***. He was pretty much harassing the patrons the entire night. He would stand over your shoulder and make fun of you over the mic to the entire place while you tried to bowl. Every time it was my turn I would wait for him to go to the other end of the alleys to harass someone else before I bowled. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Went in asked the heavy set bartender (guy) if he would turn the Jukebox on...he said yes I put $3 im and my songs didn't come on, my nephew who was with me asked the man who would we talk to about getting the money back? The bartender answered I dont know and I dont give a fuck! He then processed to call my nephew a piece of shit and threatened to knock him out....my nephew then threw his beer. The bartender said now im going to knock you out...I told my nephew to leave and waited for the bartender and actually offered him money if his shirt got wet (was a t-shirt and I offered him $40) he declined and tols me ro get the fuck out....I left. Haven't been here in 15 years. Times have changed but the interior has not, except for the ball shoot. There were at least 4 parties booked and a fundraiser setting up as we were leaving. The place was dated and the bathrooms were disgusting. It got very loud. The alley catered pizza and that too, was gross. It was basically Italian bread with Ragu and Mozzarella cheese. We got a free pass to go back bowling, and I will use it for the kid factor but that's really it. No arcade, husband was kind of bummed while waiting for a kids party to end. Some minor updates and cosmetics would make this alley much more appealing. And please! Clean the bathrooms! The handicap stall didn't even have rails and my daughter is handicapped and NEEDS those! read more

Came here on a Thursday night and although they do not take reservations, they had several parties booked and a league but the woman at the front desk was able to get us 2 lanes within an hour or so. We went to eat next door and came back to allow time which worked out just fine. Had a Groupon here so maybe with the influx in their groupon sales getting a lane may be difficult so I would suggest calling maybe the day before to ensure you don't make the trip for nothing. They have a large bar area there and had several beers on tap, they had the generics but a few craft beers as well. You are not able to drink at your seat which I think may be common for most bowling alleys but they have a table right above it for easy access to your drink. Everything was easy to set up and the Groupon deal was definately worth it. read more

Easily one of the worst all-around experiences I have ever had. When we walked in, we were told there was an hour wait for a lane, when there were clearly at least 6 that were not being used. Granted, it was a Saturday night and fairly busy, but the place definitely wasn't full. We put our name in and went into the bar to wait it out with a couple of beers. We sat at the bar for close to 10 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged us. Mind you, it wasn't all that busy in the bar. When she finally did come over, she could not have seemed less interested in helping us. She started chatting a bit while we drank (after her regulars all left, of course), but then the manager came and found us to let us know our lane was ready. He was quick about getting us properly sized shoes and the lane was ready to go when we got over there. My wife had to search around a bit for a ball as there were none in the racks nearby, but it was a painless few minutes. As soon as we started, things went quickly downhill. The automatic scoring did not work at all. Gutter balls were scored as strikes, numbers of pins knocked down were rarely right, and the ball got stuck behind the machine twice in the first round alone. They got it going again quickly, but when we let them know there was an issue with the scoring we were told there was nothing they could do about it. The second round we adjusted our scoring as necessary, but it was pretty frustrating having to change it every single frame. After the ball got stuck again 2 frames into the third game, we'd had enough. We went back to the counter and turned in our shoes and told the attendant (who was also the manager from earlier) about all of the problems and his only response was a disinterested "okay." No apology or thanks for bringing issues to his attention. I couldn't have been more unhappy with the entire experience. We didn't try any of the food, but from others around us in the bar it looked like pretty typical bowling alley bar food. Needless to say, we won't be coming back to Kingstown Bowl anytime soon. read more

Only giving this place 1 star because it makes me. We had a group of 8 people and paid $80 to bowl. We bought drinks and took our drinks down to the bowling area and were all dancing and having an awesome time and an older gentleman came up and yelled at us and told us to bring our drinks up to the upstairs and he was totally disrespectful. Told us he was going to kick us out, and then proceeded to call the cops on us. The cops walked in, looked at us, and walked right out. Never coming back here. Kingstown Bowl was a great option for a New Years eve starting event. With 3 families, it's hard to find an activity that will satisfy the needs of 6 adults and 7 kids but bowling was a great answer and Kingstown Bowl was a great place to go because it wasn't slammed packed on New Years eve and the food and beer were good. The wings were pretty tasty (fried, yes, but tasty nonetheless) and they have Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap (hell yeah!). I've lived a short drive from this alley my entire life, And have always gone to other bowling alleys in the state. I went with some friends on a Saturday night. The alley should be open til 1:00 am. But the attendant told us he had to leave a little before that, which was ok. He then shut our lane off at 11:45 with no warning. This was upsetting, but not the worst part. When we went over to the bar we saw him in there sitting in the corner drinking with his friends. He shortened our Saturday night so he could enjoy his. Don't go here. read more

I feel too generous giving this place one star. We were treated extremely rude. Our food took over TWO HOURS to come out!!! Also, when it did come out, we didn't even receive the right order. When asked for a free refill because of the bad service, we were told we needed to pay. The only kind one who works here is Chewy. So this one star is purely dedicated to him. He kindly directed us to a manager who didn't see an issue with any of this and tried to hand me a five dollar bill for the cheesy fries that were "burnt" which still haven't come out yet. Never took down the reservation for my cousin's birthday so 17 of us showed up and were shooed away by some guy who was unapologetic, and blamed it on the guy who she spoke to (Kevin?) having carbon monoxide poisoning and then coming to work - and that's why he forgot to take down the reservation (um, what?). They told us to come back in an hour, we did. They said it'll be ready at 4 (another 30 mins), so we waited. At 4, it was another 20 mins, and at that point we gave up. The staff were extremely rude, condescending, and unaccommodating. Worst off, everyone came from out of state for my cousin's bday specifically to bowl..and that never happened. I could've made a bigger stink about how rude and poor business practice this was, but someone reminded me these guys spray shoes with Lysol for a living, so it's not worth it. Bought a Groupon called and talked to someone about coming bowling before driving 45 minutes. Arrived at 7 ish on Saturday night as the Groupon didn't indicated it was NOT accepted on Saturday night. Arrive with a van full of teenagers and kids. Pulled up the Groupon the old tall man with the belt buckle said no we couldn't use it. I pointed out that the Groupon didn't say not valid on. A Saturday night. He said it was rock and bowl. The plain lights were on nothing rocking and bowling was happening. He said it started at 8. It cost 25 plus shows at 3.95 a Pearson we had 7 people. Bought the Groupon so the price was great, $25 for four people for 1 hour of bowling. Cleanliness wise the place was kind of gross. Trash on the seats from the day before (we came right at opening), full trash can with beer bottles overflowing, dirty bathroom counters. Had to wait fifteen minutes for the cleaning crew to finish cleaning the lanes, so bowling started 30 mins after opening time. Had two small children so we requested a ramp which we were given unassembled and had to put together ourselves. Ramp was dented so balls would bounce sideways off the end, and since it was the only one they had we had to share with other families which was inconvenient because the kids had to wait. Balls kept getting stuck in the ball return which also held us up. We had to play either bumpers or no bumpers because the system had the capability to switch back and forth but didn't work right. The employees were super nice and helpful but overall the equipment left a lot to be desired. If this place upgraded to a newer system like Old Mountain Lanes they would probably do much better business. read more

My friend and I went to Club Roxx to hear The Senders last night. Of course, they ROCKED as they always do! Before dancing, we sat at the bar and enjoyed some well-crafted cocktails and the app sampler.My friend was impressed with the taste of his Long Island Iced Tea, which can be challenging to get just right. I thought the mozzarella sticks and potato skins were delicious, and my friend said the chicken tenders were yummy as well. Although we were served by 3 different bartenders, I can only remember Jen and Jess, who were friendly, helpful, and quick. The third one was great too; I am sorry I can't remember her name. I went there on 9/12/2015 through an invitation on social media. Club Roxx and the NK Bowl was having an anniversary of 50 yrs open. Free burgers on the grill, a band, drink specials all day and night. It's a totally different look than I was used to from years ago. The bar/band area was much bigger. The pool tables were separated to different parts of the room making it a lot more comfortable for the players. Plenty of room to walk around the large horseshoe bar if you come from the alley side toward the latrines. Bar food menu is grilled/fried basket combos and pizzas. I tried some chicken fingers and onion rings. They were better than average for bar-pub food. The bartender, Christina, was on top of everything with courteous and prompt service and attention to detail even when a rude customer or two would just blurt out complaints not bar related, Christina would direct them to the right person or solve the issue to an agreeable solution. The owners were friendly and accessible to any customer from the bar or the alley. Great time, great music. I'll be back. read more

I went on a Tuesday afternoon with three kids and we had a blast! We were the only ones there for most of the hour that we bowled (exactly what I was aiming for). We paid $15, which was their weekday special and they let the kids use their regular shoes. I couldn't speak more highly of the staff, they were so accommodating! The man behind the counter found us the lightest balls and delivered them to the lane for us, and he let us finish our game even though our hour was up.
