We came here for Valentine's Day & Birthday Celebration. Parking was easy to navigate through at The Interlock. I suggest to park on Level P that way it is easy to get to Kinjo Room. We paid $14.45 for 2 hours and it was plenty of time for us. What we ordered on the Valentine's Day menu: - edamame - negi salmon roll - lobster tempura roll - a5 wagyu beef roll - bourbon bramble - green tea mochi Everything tasted fresh & excellent, especially the a5 wagyu beef roll. Hands down, one of my favorite sushi spots. The sophisticated and moody decor is perfect for a date night or girls night out. It's intimate and small which makes it feel even more exclusive. I take friends from all over to try the sushi here. The shishito peppers are made simply but the lemon and the subtle spice hit perfectly together. I love the salmon truffle aoili, the spicy tuna crispy rice, or a good handroll. The fish is fresh and treated perfectly. I recently tried the miso black cod and it's so is buttery and delicious, I may make that my new go-to. Lastly, the service. The bar staff, Ray and another woman whose name I can't remember are a dream team that never let your glass get empty. Ray knows a good drink and will help you experiment and find something new. This was the first time I had calamari where it was just right in its chewiness and the dipping sauce paired extremely well. I ordered the spicy yellowtail special roll and my friend went with the the shrimp tempura. The yellowtail paired extremely well with the calamari since it was as fresh and bright as can be, and I added the soy sauce to elevate its saltiness. My friend loved her shrimp tempura roll too. They both had a beautiful presentation. While everything was delicious, the star of the show was the matcha cheesecake combination with the chocolate cookie crumble bottom. Kinjo Room is located in the Interlock, right by Putt Shack and Velvet Taco. There's parking in the garage or valet. I had a reservation for my birthday for 6 people. When I arrived the table was set up and ready. The hostess seated us at the table and took my cake to the back. They charge a $20 cake fee, which isn't bad. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice, and dimly lit. But the music was kinda more upbeat, than what the vibe of the restaurant was giving. Our server brought out waters and took our drink orders. The drinks are on the pricey side; $20 for cocktails. My friend ordered a virgin mojito, but they brought out a matcha mojito (which she said tasted like water). The server said they didn't have mint to the barre made that...but we definitely saw mint on the bar. She took it back and said "oh he just got mint." For appetizers we ordered Calamari Karaage and Edamame. The calamari was good, we had to put in another order after the first two. For entrees we got Lobster Tempura rolls, veggie roll, Sea Bass, Assorted Japanese Mushrooms, Asparagus, and sticky rice. The sushi rolls were good. The sea bass was just ok and needed more flavor. The sea bass doesn't come with anything so we were able to order sides of sticky rice. Once we finished our dinner, the server came out with the cake already lit and singing happy birthday. I was worried it would be super busy on a Friday night so we made reservations last minute, but even though it is popular it is clear that they don't overbook their reservations which gives you enough space to enjoy your time without feeling like you are in a super crowded loud restaurant. The decor is beautiful. We sat at the bar even though we had a reservation because we wanted to and the chairs were so comfortable. The bartender gave fantastic recommendations and even made me a custom drink when I couldn't decide what to have. If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours or no show there will be a $25 charge per person and they will not book your reservation without a card. You could taste the quality!!! We had the lobster appetizer and edamame. We had (2) shrimp tempura roll and an eel roll and ended with the matcha cheesecake. The matcha cake had a subtle flavor and when I come back by myself, I would try it again. The inside space was very quaint and it's only 1 restroom but it was beautiful inside and there was a coordination amongst the staff. My next visit I will sit at the bar. Their policy for payments is outdated and ridiculous. 5 of my friends and I came here and they refused to accept cash for a portion of the payments and told us they can only spilt the check in 2 instead of by 6. They told us this at the end after the meal was over. The food was ok but extremely overpriced and the decor was very chic but it was extremely loud and difficult to hear other people at the table. People were literally YELLING to be heard. Additionally they have the nerve to have cocktails over $25 that barely taste like alcohol! To begin, the ambience here is very intimate; dim lights with a smaller dining room and modern design all lead to a romantic and private energy. I highly recommend for a date!! Service was very attentive and helpful when it came to menu recommendations as well. For the food, we had the spicy tuna tartare and the daily special which was a snapper sashimi. They were both DELICIOUS. The spice of the tuna tartare was not overbearing, but rather refreshing and kept you coming back for more. The freshness and salinity of the sashimi felt like the ocean breeze itself. We also shared the Negi salmon roll and the crispy spicy tuna roll, which came with 8 rolls a piece. The Negi salmon was fresh and were perfect bite sized rolls to complement the warmth and umami of the spicy tuna over crispy rice that composed the crispy spicy tuna roll. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. It's a nice looking restaurant with aesthetics but a little on the small side. The lighting is almost too dark in here as it is difficult to read the menu due to lack of light. The cocktails were really good but their wines and champagnes can be a bit on the flat side. Parking is a whole production here as there is a parking deck then having to find your way to the restaurant can be a trip. I could've done with that part but the entire area is filled with restaurants, bars and the like. What an unpleasant way to celebrate my Birthday with out-of-town friends, as I I was really looking forward to dining here. 1st - Reservation was made two weeks in advance. Called in, spoke to someone, and provided my credit card information to reserve the table. Said person also stated their policies of no-shows and the 10 people maximum, so we thought everything was set, but we were highly mistaken. When we arrived they said there was not a reservation on file under my name...shall we re-read what I just wrote above? A banter ensued, as the Manager kept asking who I spoke with and I could not recall. I was informed that we'd have to wait for a few parties to finish before they could seat us. There was an available table for my party size, but I was told that area was reserved for the Owner's girlfriend. A group was seated there for a birthday party later that evening...My party was finally able to sit down after a 30-minute wait. While we were waiting for a table for the entire party, the Manager recommend we split up so a few found available seats at the bar, I and another friend sat at a table for 2, and my other friend sat at the server station table. When the host came over to combine my table with another one, instead of stating that, she simply said, "Can you all get up?". My friend and I looked at each other and laughed, like where are your manners, and then she apologized and restated her question. By the time we were seated, I was still baffled at how the night had begun. The food, drinks, service, and overall experience were underwhelming. Everything came out at different times and the dinner felt rushed, as one friend received her entree after the server brought out the check..After a subpar experience, one of my party members asked to speak with the Manager. After concerns were shared his response was "I've been bending backward all night for your party". We all looked around trying to figure out which party he was referring to. Not one time did the Manager apologize for the inconvenience or mishap on their end. The ambiance and aesthetic was beautiful, but the service has deterred me from ever returning. We walked in and we're greeted by the host and he gave us an option of 2 tables since it wasn't too busy and we chose the comfier one! One thing that we loved was that you could sit next to each other and talk versus in front of each other. I was so excited to crave Kinjo Room since I had been craving sushi for awhile! Even from first walking in and you can tell by the decor and ambiance of the restaurant that you're in for an experience! When we had a chance to look over the menu our waiter Kass came over and was super helpful in helping us decide on drinks, appetizers, and rolls! She honestly pointed us in the direction of one the best rolls we've ever had which was the Otoro!! The rest of our meal was amazing we ordered a mix of rolls and appetizers and I think my sister even found a new favorite drink the Old Jack Rose!
