The ambiance is cool as you start to walk in with all the country flags outside, and then it's a serene environment indoors. Service is friendly and straightforward. I think the waitress we had could know the menu a bit better (it is worth your time to peruse the slightly clunky layout of the menu), but ultimately, we got to the items we cared about, which include the seaweed salad, edamame, ginger salad, miso soup, kamikaze roll, and pad kra paow. Note that the nigiri we for a drink was (in our view) solidly priced at $15. Everything tasted great. We came here for my little sister's graduation and it was amazing! Starting off with the parking, there's plenty of parking behind the restaurant and next to the restaurant. We didn't have to worry at all about that. We had a reservation for 7pm on a Monday and were greeted and seated immediately. The service was incredible and the food was so delicious. We ordered the panang gyoza x2, panang curry with chicken, spicy thai basil fried rice, and the wagyu minced beef. All the items had great flavor and at medium spicy, they were perfect. We also ordered the Tom Ka hotpot family style soup with shrimp and chicken and it was delicious. Stayed at a great temperature with the fire heater in the middle and was good. We also ordered 6 different sushi rolls, Eye of the Tiger, Lobster Roll, Kamikaze, and a few others. The presentation as well as the flavor were all great. This place really is a hidden gem. I walked to this restaurant with two coworkers from my Buckhead office a couple of blocks up the hill, it was around 12:30 PM on a Wednesday and the dining room was sparsely occupied so we were seated immediately. The interior is upscale and very nice - I especially liked the overstuffed bar seating and the giant colorful wall mosaic - I could see this being a destination for date night. I was initially going for the sushi then changed my mind to try the tonkatsu ramen. We also ordered the Massaman Curry and a sushi bento box. My tonkatsu ramen had a rich bone broth and a few extra bits, all submerged (which is kind of odd) but ended up being chashu pork and some sliced decorative fish cake. Overall the dish was pretty good- the pork was sliced very thin and the noodles tasted like instant so not a great bowl, but it still hit the spot. My coworkers both liked their dishes, especially the massaman curry. Service was good with frequent visits from the servers. The food came out to the table quickly. You don't understand how happy I am to have found Silom. I finally made time to dine here, I drive by the restaurant at least once a week. I'm happy to report that I was not disappointed! Surprisingly for the location, they have more than decent parking, and guess what was free... ? Parking and there was no valet ! The restaurant has a functional and beautiful layout with ample seating, a nice wraparound bar, and booths for intimate conversations. The noise level was minimal but at the time I went traffic was light, and we like that. I opted for the bar, no forward footrests though, but I was comfortable. Now the food, the spicy ramen came out hot and was very delicious, although it wasn't spicy to me I would still recommend it. I also had the Pyramid roll, if you like fried rolls I would definitely recommend it or the Monster roll. I had no complaints with the service my bartender was very attentive. In addition to water, I ordered the Japanese Blossom which tasted almost like a jolly rancher but not to tart. I also ordered the garlic fried rice with steak and the fried lobster roll. Silom Thai is located right across from the JW Marriott hotel so it was an easy walk for me during my stay. I sat at the bar and didn't have to wait at all on a Thursday night. I didn't intend to get a drink but it was a sight watching the bartender do his thing. It was more savory, had a nice kick and not as tangy which I enjoyed. The wings, however were not very good. They were small served with only 4 pieces for $10. They tasted a bit off and were not fresh. The Pad Thai(8/10) was good. It did not taste authentic but was well made. The noodles were perfectly chewy. I couldn't taste any fish sauce or tamarind paste but a little chili powder and fish sauce did wonders. It was topped with egg that looked like it was an after thought but didn't affect the taste. From the street, you wouldn't think that the parking lot was as big as it is because it's hiding behind the building, so parking is excellent. The restaurant was also much bigger than we originally thought. We started with edamame and spicy shrimp. Both were great, but the spicy shrimp was absolutely fantastic. It was well seasoned and tasted so good. If that was the only thing I got at this restaurant tonight I would have been satisfied so definitely try it. As entrees, we got the volcano, one night in Bangkok, and super crunch. All three were delicious and worth trying. I would rank the one night in Bangkok as the best and most delicious. For our first course, we ordered the spicy crispy shrimp, which come four to an order. They were so delicious that my lovely bride inhaled three of them... We also loved the brussel sprouts. The spring roll was slightly greasy but good nonetheless. We shared the shrimp in green curry (Thai hot), and it was divine. Stopped in for a bite to eat after traveling and arriving in Atlanta, this restaurant was right across the street from our hotel. Stopped in as soon as they opened. We were seated immediately. Ordered the Thai fried rice, the drunken noodles and shrimp tempura sushi roll. Everything was good, especially the drunken noodles, that entree for sure was the star of the show. They have a happy hour during the week with only drink specials, but the prices to me do not say happy hour, $12 is not a special, that sounds like regular price to me. I ordered the Shilom Blossom and it was good, but if you want two "happy hour" drinks that would be $24, that's not a deal. They have a very extensive drink menu and appear to make a lot of craft style specialty drinks but again they're on the pricey side, like $16-$18 for those. Our waiter was kinda pushy and moving us along the way kinda fast. He also I guess was not happy with his tip because he did not even say thank you or have a good day once we paid, which I thought was rude. He received 18% which is what I thought his service was worth, but if I would have known he would act so ungrateful, I would have tipped even less. The wait staff need to understand tipping is discretionary and service based only, it's not a requirement just because you take food orders. I probably will not be back if I'm ever in the area again.
