Got kinrose at Smorgasburg DTLA and this was hands down my favorite thing that I got. I ordered the orange flower pistacho and it was so fresh, creamy and the flavors were perfect but not overpowering. Not sure what they put in tus ice cream but I loved it so much i came back for another ice cream. The second time around I ordered the Egyptian mint chip and life the first time....it did not disappoint! Kinrose is the perfect middle eastern twist on ice cream. Definitely will be back to try out the rest of the items on their menu!

Excellent ice cream, generous portions and delicious flavors. Honey baklava and the pistachio are our favorites!

New #1 ice cream place for me. The texture is smooth and velvety. I ordered a split-scoop of Sour Cherry and Safron Rose. My friend had Tamarind paired with Baklava and all were amazing. The texture of the "Fairy Floss" and crispy sheets of Baklava dough on top of the cone really sets this place far apart from the competition!

The place is super small and no line, but the flavors were plentiful. I forget what they do, but you can get a combo of flavors in a single scoop. Then, an eternity ago, it closed and we were sad. Then Long Beach Creamery opened and we weren't that sad for that long, but still, I absolutely still thought about them every once in a while, sad that they'd left. Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.

It was creamy, flavorful, and not overwhelmingly sugary, which I appreciated. The fish-shaped pastries with filling were honestly my favorite part though. They were warm and freshly made with a really nice texture, especially paired with the cold ice cream. It felt like a fun combination without being gimmicky. The shop itself has a cute and cozy atmosphere that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a good place if you want dessert that feels a little more unique than the usual ice cream spot.

The line was longer than I've ever seen it wrapping around outside. I saw so many young people in cosplay, possibly characters for an anime I'm not familiar with. Look at the photos and see if you recognize it. A character might be called Silverwolf? Anyway, I was so happy to see Somisomi so busy. My friend and I stayed in line for 20 minutes before we were able to place our order, we had only 10 minutes to spare before our tickets at the Aratani Theatre. We wanted to have the milk and 8-bit boysenberry swirl soft serve in a cup. Unfortunately, we realized that we had to decide between possibly not being led into our reserved seat at the theater or missing out on this delicious dessert. It was just a matter of not realizing how long it would take. I don't blame Somisomi because they had a huge number of ahbong to make fresh, and of course, there was no way to cut in line We ended up telling the lovely staff that we had to leave, and to please give our orders under "Coco" to someone for free so it wouldn't be wasted. I'm sure it would've been tart and delicious!! The staff were working hard and very patient. They sometimes had to call names three times to get a response for adding toppings. If you go there and it's crowded, please be patient and also please be ready to go up to claim your order right away for the sake of the waiting hungry crowd ;)!

But I wanted to leave a review because the girl (I forgot to ask her name, sadly) who helped me today was really lovely! I bought 30g of their matcha and admittedly thought when they didn't give it to me at the counter that they forgot, but I sat down at a table to eat my ice cream and decided to just ask for it after I finished. Thank goodness I did, because the cashier came up to my table about 10 minutes later and handed me a little bag of fresh-ground matcha. She took a second to explain to me how to store it and keep it fresh, and I just really appreciated the extra bit of customer service, even if it's something they're maybe expected to do. When I have the money, I'll definitely come back and get their 100g pack! The soft serve is such a yummy texture that's perfectly creamy and dusted with matcha powder for an extra kick. It tastes rich and authentic, without any grassy notes typical of cheap matcha. I crave it once a week at least! This place is solid for avid matcha fans and just-starting-out matcha tasters. Great spot!
