Oreo ube + classic roll(both were not good)
    Justin A.

Why is ordering from here so painfully difficult... only to finally get through and end up completely underwhelmed? I really wanted to like these, but wow they were not good. Both cinnamon rolls we ordered tasted stale, and there was nothing special or memorable about them at all. Definitely don't get the hype. After all that hassle just to place an order, getting rolls that taste store bought was a huge let down. Not worth it.

Ayo!!! One of the Best Cinnamon Rolls in LA. Gooey Center is a pop up so you need to check on their instagram where they are located over the weekend. This week they had Original, Cookie Butter and Ube. The original was amazing, Lots of cinnamon flavor. I would highly recommend! Cards are accepted and staff was amazing!

Gooey Center is setting up at Found Coffee

I had actually emailed on the website because we were driving from San Francisco for the weekend. Christopher was super nice and responded quickly to my email. He had answered all my questions so that I'd be ready once I was at the pop up event. I was afraid that they might be sold out by the time I got there. This was one of the reasons why we were coming down for the weekend and I didn't want to miss out. For the pop up event that we went to it was at Found Coffee. Their canopy/ tent was already setup when we got there. We came a little before 8:30am because I wanted to go to Found Coffee first. The line at that time wasn't too bad. Some people who came the week before said they had sold out in 90 minutes. Once it hit 9am, they had it setup pretty organized. One line was pickup and another line which wrapped around the building was for people placing orders. I was like the 5th person in line and was able to get one of each flavor. 1. Classic cinnamon roll: Amazingly fresh and fluffy. So cinnamony sweet. 2. Biscoff: This was the first one we tried and we had it room temp. It was soft and you can taste the light biscoff cookie throughout. It was delicious the way it was and didn't need to be warmed up. 3. Ube: This was surprisingly delicious. It wasn't just an ube frosting. There was ube throughout the cinnamon roll. It was sweet but not super sweet. No shortage of ube here. I will definitely make it a point to go back to there next pop up when I'm in the area. These cinnamon rolls were amazing and one of the best I've had ever. Sorry I grew up on Cinnabon and Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. This is worth the 8 hour drive. I bought 2 of each flavor so that we could enjoy it at home. We did not share with family because it was that good lol. Don't judge me

Incredible taste but smaller than I expected. The cinnamon roll has great cinnamon taste and not too sweet. But with the the frosting was sweet and complemented the cinnamon roll well. The ordering on Wednesday at 600pm, dinner time, for Saturday is not the best but hey the que was so full that I could only order 1 when I wanted 3 or 4. Yes, when I picked I could have waited in line (Eagle Rock/Found Coffee location) but that defeats the pre-order benefit of quickly picking up the order. The cinnamon roll was good enough to make me order again

    Yummy vegan cinnamon rolls.

My sissy and I were enjoying the Magic Market Pop Up and needed a little bite to eat. The vendor lines were long except for Gooey Center Bakery, so we decided to give them a try. Wow! I'm so glad we did. Not only are these the most amazing cinnamon rolls you have ever tried they are also vegan. We split a Blueberry cinnamon roll. It was incredibly fluffy & soft with fresh blueberries baked inside. There were no hard edges or dryness. The frosting ratio was perfect and not overly sweet. Owner Christopher Federici is an absolute doll, and he takes pride in his delightful buns. I don't indulge in cinnamon rolls often but the next time the craving hits I'll be seeking Gooey Center Bakery out. Follow them on IG to see where they are popping up next. @gooeycenerbakery.

The cinnamon rolls were good, nothing crazy to wait in a line for. Clearly a shortage of cinnamon rolls in LA

The chicken stays crispy for a long time and reheats nicely as leftovers. Everything we've ordered is really good and crave-worthy. We got the lucky catsu, curry catsu, crispy shrimp, spam masubi, catsu masubi, orange chicken, crispy chicken. Top two favorites are lucky and curry catsu. Small things I'd personally wish to change is that the onion is too strong in the macaroni salad. Wish it wasn't in there period. And the rice is a little on the dryer side and it sticks to the container- so when you scrape up the last bits of rice, you could be eating the paper from the container. I like that they use compostable containers though!! But yeah the rice is on the harder side especially as leftovers. But whatever, their main items are bomb and makes me not care about anything else. Service is quick! Note: it is not a sit down restaurant. You order (ahead) and park on the street and call them to let them know you're outside. They'll bring the food out. Reception isn't great outside fyi. I've been here 3 times and never last long enough to get a photo before digging in. There are two other vegan restaurants right next to it, same concept - order and pick up. Great for different options if one is craving Mexican from Cena or hot dogs from All franks.

Since we were trying to eat at as many places without feeling food coma'ed out, we ordered 1 Corn Beef Silog. Calamansi Tonic Espresso and Black Mamba. The Corn Beef Silog was really solid, it was also deep fried in a Panko Crusted outer layer which is their take on a Croquette. We particularly like the crunch it adds to the dish. But yeah it was the corn beef has we were looking for mixed with the good 'ol garlic rice and sunny side up egg. The vinegar they used was a lot stronger than I thought and I think they could do without it. The tonic espresso grew on me, upon first sip, I could taste the tonic and I haven't had tonic before so I wasn't feeling it. Until I mixed it and it got a lot better. What was really cute too, is they have pop up vendors and it was a bread and dessert vendor that are right across the counter. What caught my eye was this apron that was a collaboration between Garden and Seeds x Lasita. It had so many pockets and it went from a short apron to a long one with just a zipper. I bought this for the sole purpose of wearing it as an accessory as Tan/Brown pairs well with black and white clothing. Staff was so nice and helpful when ordering and even inquiring about the apron since there was no price on it. Hopefully we'll be back and can catch them during their dinner service!

The kitchen is a home kitchen with a house keeper washing the dishes by hand. It is a help yourself type of situation. BYOB and pour it yourself. There is a total of 16 seats per night. 6 of us in our reservation. They dim the place for the ambience. Food wise - Total of 7 courses - last 2 was the dessert. There is no printed menu, so you'll just have to ask what it is that you're eating and why the main course -steak- was served first. We were asked to keep the utensils through out the course as they do not change your silverware for every course. Cringe. I had such a high expectation with the food prior to dinner. It felt flat - Everything. The only thing that we like was the corn bread. The steak was tough - some us got super rare and some got overly done tough. Some flavor combination just didn't pair well. Something with a fish dish but sour like hell. Another dish was blue and it just did not look a dish coming out of a fine dining restaurant. Funny the people that were there was talking about Somni, Providence, Melisse.... It just did not even come close. It's like going to a friend's house who's practicing to be a fine dining chef. Pics of the food is posted in this review. None of them was impressive. It just did not go well together. When it came to the 7th course - it was a shaved ice. The Asian assitant cook brought them over and said it's Mandarin ice. So we asked, can you give us a little bit more description... his response was so rude that he said "it's ice with mandarin orange flavor". Oh ok - now you say mandarin oranges. But his condescending attitude is not appreciated. The night is ending and the Chef has not once come to the table to say Hi or introduced himself. People started to leave and he decided to speak to some remaining guests. Then he gets stuck with that particular guest for a long time until everyone is leaving. We probably just had like a Hi and Hello thank you for the food. He seems nice though. Then we all left. We clearly didn't even care anymore at that point. Bad food and bad experience. No parking. Good luck finding a parking on the streets on fountain and Vermont with all the homeless around. It's a hype. It's mysterious because it's really not listed as a restaurant. Not for everyone.

During my visit to DS Night Market, Daeng's had two items: sweet potato balls and mango + sticky rice. Peering into the tent, I could see that they were making the sweet potato balls on site, forming the dough into small balls and frying it fresh in batches. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I suspected they would be sweet since they were being sold by a dessert stand. Kanom Kai Nok Krata is a popular street food snack in Thailand. It's made with mashed sweet potatoes and tapioca flour (and other ingredients). The golden balls are about the size of a large tater tot. They're served piping hot. One order ($10) contained 20 balls. The ball is quite firm and very crunchy on the exterior, but the inside is soft and chewy like mochi. They weren't greasy, but 20 balls is too large of an order. I would have preferred 10 balls and a few dipping sauces, but the balls were very good because you could taste the sweet potato but the textures had so much contrast. The sweet potato balls are worth trying but best for sharing.
