Came here for some sweets The ice cream wasn't completely what I imagined. I was not a huge fan of the syrup they put into the ice cream, it would have been better if it was homemade, however for me it was too sweet It didn't fully taste of strawberry. The service was quick and the attendant was knowledgeable about their items for sale The ambiance was busy. There is minimal seating inside, however, you can sit outside

I came to this location for a pop up and I'm not entirely sure if the staff working the pop up were staff of the location or the brand. The event was very disorganized and staff were a bit dismissive unless you were a content creator. Content creators arrived at whatever time despite my friend and I being the first in line, we waited over an hour to get in because anytime a content creator showed up, they were allowed to cut the line. It was a bit upsetting but we waited so long to get in, we endured it. The area was rather small inside so you grabbed your sweet treat and had to eat outdoors. After having to hurry and sample our treat before it was melting, a staff member came by and slammed a lipgloss into my already eaten ice cream which was confusing, it would have been better to insert the gloss into the ice cream once it was served since they wanted us to tag them in our photos rather than wait until it was melted and half eaten. While the ice cream was delicious, I'm still deciding if I should return or just stay away after having that experience.

Couldn't tell it was vegan! Their ice cream is oat based but we couldn't tell, we were just enjoying the flavors too much. They have recommended flavor combinations but you can also customize your desert. We tried the chocolate peanut butter pretzel cone, the mint chocolate cone, and the coffee ice cream sundae with chocolate drizzle. The texture of their ice cream was very light but rich in flavor. We enjoyed all three equally. The service was very friendly. Decor was more urban and simple. There are few seats inside and some seating outside in the courtyard. Check their hours as it varies from weekend vs weekdays. Metered street parking is available.

Finally got their chance to try the oat milk based ice cream and it was pretty good! There was a pop up hosted by Vitamasque free to the public, you can stop by and try their ice cream and get some skincare goodies on the house. I got the cinnamon sugar and pink vanilla and they were both good, but the cinnamon sugar flavor was my favorite. It was topped with small bites of a a soft cinnamon sugar bread and covered in a cinnamon cookie crumble. The employees were super sweet and helpful! The interior is beautiful, and there's a couple spots to sit inside and outside. If you're on the area, I'd recommend checking it out. Thanks to the lovely staff for this fun experience!

Overall - 9/10 - This is a woman & black-owned ice cream shop that is on my must have because of their plant-based ice cream. This is a wonderful dairy free dessert & ice cream bar. I went to try their dessert due to a pop-up by Vitamasque that was free to the public. There was free skincare and lip products throughout the pop-up. The staff were friendly and helped us and explained the ingredients of the ice cream. Additionally, if you were to drive here there is limited parking. There is mostly street parking and parking in the neighborhood, but watch the for parking signs. Dessert - I had a caramel waffle crunch oat milk ice cream. The ice cream was smiliar like custard and also covered with waffle cone bits. The ice cream had a balance of creaminess from the ice cream, the crunch from the waffle pieces and not being too sweet. Overall experience - The dessert lab had wonderful dairy free ice cream that tasted so creamy. They also make their toppings in-house too. I was amazed that it was creamy like custard ice cream and it was also made from oat-milk too. There was ample seating in the outside area of the store becuase the store didn't have any seatings.

Easily a 5 star experience!! This woman owned, black owned ice creamery will forever be on my "must have" list when in LA! In visiting with friends we were greeted eagerly and walked through the all oat milk ice cream options! Yes you heard right OAT MILK ice cream! I got their "Cinnamon Apple Crisp" and talk about AMAZING! It is their sweet crème oat milk ice cream, dipped in a spice crumble, cinnamon apple sauce in the middle in a cone. This was the creamiest, most flavor packed ice cream I have EVER had. Urban Dessert Lab has changed the future of ice cream! I can't find any ice cream as flavorful and smooth as this! You won't be disappointed and will be addicted just me like me lol!

Vegan ice creams are not made equal. This one is pretty faultless. I believe they're made from oat milk. I'm not vegan but I try to avoid milk when I can, these were delicious. Perfect size too

I had a trip planned to SoCal and added this to my list of places to stop at after I saw the viral post. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I became allergic to dairy halfway through life and coming across good alternatives for ice cream desserts has been a long standing struggle. This place hit the spot with its plant based ice creams. Service was kind and friendly. She helped answer questions and struck up a nice conversation with us. Small location in West Hollywood but it has a good location. We can at the perfect time, as no one is in line in front of us and a big rush came right after us. Couple seats available insides and some more outside so you can sit and enjoy your treat. Flavors were amazing and I definitely recommend you check them out.

Loved everything we ordered. I had the strawberry shortcake and LOVED the tartness of the puree that balanced the sweetness of the oat milk ice cream. My daughter had the Bruleesant (sp) and it was delicious!

As a lactose intolerant person my dessert options, especially ice cream are usually quite limited. Then throw in my allergy to coconut and that's typically a wrap. But today my friends, I encountered a beautiful soul who actually cares about lactose intolerant folks. All the soft serve and ice cream here is oat milk based! In addition to soft serve and specialty ice cream cones, they also have cookies! I did not give in to temptation today so I did not try the cookies but the ice cream melted my heart. I'd highly recommend supporting this business and feeding your lactose intolerant friends with these tasty treats!

When it comes to plant based desserts, it can be very hit or miss. But Urban Dessert Lab is a hit! There's not much more in life that makes me happy than a warm cookie and this delivered. While the bases were basically all the same, the toppings were pretty exciting. I personally liked the peanut butter pretzel better than the s'mores just because the graham cracker was too much cinnamon for me. The soft serve ice cream is almost like the texture of a mousse which was surprisingly nice. Parking is a nightmare in that area so that's one negative, but there did seem to be consistent foot traffic the whole time we were there. Overall a good place for vegan desserts.

Walking the streets in West Hollywood and we're in the mood for something sweet! Urban dessert lab was exactly what we needed!! Delicious soft serve oat milk ice cream with a variety of flavorings. The ice cream is creamy and delicious and not overly sweet. The owner was working the counter when we came in and it was obvious she takes great pride in her business. Each treat is handmade with care. The shop is nothing fancy but a great location in cool West Hollywood. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

We prefer the taste of this to the brownie cookie...we aren't big on that one. I had such high hopes because I love brownies and obvi love cookies, but alas, personal taste preference. The chocolate cake pudding ($4.25) is a rich and decadent treat that can be eaten right out of the wrapper it comes in! I was surprised I loved this chocolate cake soaked in chocolate custard with a few marshmallows and caramel on top. The Peanut Butter El Rollo is a tiny but cute little guy at $5.50. They make their own peanut buttercream for the inside filling and the chocolate is just wonderful. I like their bars One of my favorite things at Cake Monkey is the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cakewich. This mini cakes are just $5.75 and individually wrapped so make for great little gifts to bring to a housewarming or event. Plus it's gluten-free and vegan so all our friends can enjoy it! Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie.
