Stopped by this location because they were doing a collab for a perfume line. I had the pleasure to try their "true loves cake" flavor that has pieces of cake, rose and pistachios in it. I must say the iced cream was too busy for me and didn't need much added as the base ice cream flavor was good. I noticed they had a lot of great flavors and some popular ones I'm excited to try next go round. The place is small with few seats inside but they had additional seating outside. Staff were friendly and I loved the vibe. You do have to pay for parking, but there's aplenty of spaces to park. Cannot wait to be in Pasadena again to try this place again.
This review is not for the location but the ice cream itself. We had their fantastic lavashak ice cream at the 2nd annual smorgasjoon event, also known as smorgasburg. The ice cream was creamy and delicious and the lavashak gave it a fantastic kick of sour that you get from a sour fruit roll. I will definitely venture out to try more of their flavors! I definitely recommend giving them a try!
One of the best scoops of Ice Cream I've had in a long time! I've had Kinrose Creamery on my list for a minute and was so happy after my wife and I got to try a scoop. They are located in Mills Alley in Pasadena just look for the bright red sign and signage promoting some flavors. We came by after having dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! My husband and I stopped by here on Monday night after eating at Edwin Mills. My husband had this spot bookmarked a while ago and didn't realize they were neighboring businesses. When we arrived, we were the only two there for a few minutes until more people came. We were greeted right away. We walked down a ramp that led us to their selections. It's a decent-sized shop with a few tables. Each table had a rose in a vase attached via velcro so you don't have to worry about tipping them over. The shop is also nicely decorated with wall art. It's been a few days since then and we can't stop thinking about coming back. They serve unique Middle-Eastern flavored ice cream. I ordered the Sesame Halva which is their vegan ice cream made of Halva ice cream with sesame & coconut. OMG, I've never tasted anything like this before. I love anything that has a sesame profile. If you like that nutty, sweet, and earthy flavor this one is for you. I could taste the coconut, but it wasn't overpowering. There were also little chunks of halva in there that added a slight bit of sweetness. The texture was similar to cookie dough, but softer. Aside from the taste, I loved the simple presentation of the small rose on top of the scoop. It made it look elegant. As you can tell, I am definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by.
I love a little middle eastern ice cream action! They encourage you to sample as many of the flavors as you'd like which is really nice. They may even add the toppings on your sample too so you get the whole experience. Delicious flavors to choose from. Seating is limited, but it's located in a prime walking location anyways, so it doesn't matter all that much. If there is a line, it is still worth the wait.
I've seen this business on my socials & had it saved for a potential visit. It was everything I expected it to be. I drove all the way from Long Beach to visit my discount hobby mechanic Bobby; and yes it was worth the one hour drive. One because I had an amazing ice cream and two; I by passed a tune up at Fletcher Jones Toyota of Carson who for some reason didn't honor the previous warranty, because "Fletcher-Jones is now the new owner of the Carson location." In a sense, I am thankful for the grifting, because it lead me here. If you're indecisive Kinrose Creamery does offer samples. I ended up ordering two scoops of Saffron Pistachio Rose, & Orange Flower Pistachio. I definitely savored this unique frozen dessert in this unforgivable heat. Loved my choices and I will be coming back through the summer. The customer service is excellent, the establishment is very clean, & nicely decorated as well. It appears they have local art on the walls, and it's also well air conditioned. Additional information: parking is a bit of a hassle in this area. I ended up paying for a one day parking pass, which is ten bucks and having to walk about two blocks. I did not mind the short stroll but do recommend to look up neighboring businesses to get the best out of the one day pass. There's a pottery painting workshop near by, a spa, furniture shops, and also an amazing tea place adjacently across the street.
The flavors are unlike anything else and it takes me ages to decide on my 1-2 scoops because I want them all. Two of my favorites are probably the Saffron Pistachio Rose and Fig and Olive. Quite hard to get seating on a Friday evening, as would be expected, but it's a nice establishment to chill out in if you manage to get a table.
Wow, I found Kinrose via Yelp. I wanted to try a unique local ice cream spot and saw the floss rose ice cream cup and was very curious. We got the Walnut Baklava and Sour Cherry & Fairy floss (pashmak).. both were delicious! I love how my sour cherry complimented the fairy floss so much and I love eating the floss, which I believe is the sweet cream Iranian candy floss. My bf really liked the Walnut Baklava, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was full of flavor. They also encourage you to taste the flavor before committing to buying but I knew what I wanted and was so happy with my choice. Def would recommend and would def come back if I'm in the area.
I had no idea that this place has middle Eastern roots, more specifically Egyptian flavors. I've spent a lot of time in Egypt myself and seeing that the menu has flavors that you do not get to try anywhere else unless you were in Egypt definitely makes this place really special--and more so as ice cream! I was absolutely blown away with what we picked, they nail the nuanced flavors--very rich and creamy and not too heavy on the stomach, more so refreshing. I would encourage anyone not to be afraid to pick something they've never had and sample flavors you have no clue about, they went above and beyond to sample the flavors as they would be if we ordered them, including the toppings. My friend was absolutely blown away and texted his wife that he needs to bring her here, which I myself definitely plan on returning as well. I'm rooting for this business and hope you guys really take off!
My favorite ice cream in SGV! Love the sour cherry topped with fairy floss and walnut baklava! If you're looking for unique flavors, texture and not too sweet flavors, this is your spot. Kinrose is located in the alley. There's street and structure parking. Friendly staff.
Finally Checked This Spot Off My Yelp List -- Worth the Wait! Finally got to try KINROSE, which has been sitting on my Yelp list for over a year now -- and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! First things first, this place is definitely hidden in an alleyway, so make sure you have your Google Maps ready or you might walk right past it like we almost did. The moment I saw their Fairy Floss Sour Cherry, I was completely mesmerized -- so you already know I had to order it. This flavor is made with sour cherries and sweet cream dressed in Iranian candy floss, topped with pistachio dust, and it was hands-down my absolute favorite of the night. Singles are $8 and duos are $10.50, which is pretty reasonable considering how unique the flavors are. Fairy Floss Sour Cherry -- 9.2/10 The sour cherry had that perfect balance of sweet with a subtle tang, and the fairy floss texture added such a fun, delicate touch. The flavors paired beautifully together -- definitely the star of the night for me. Hubby ordered the duo, and I helped pick the flavors (of course ): Walnut Baklava -- 8/10 This one had a brown sugar and spiced walnut base topped with baked baklava bits. The walnut flavor was subtle, and I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. The baklava topping added a nice texture without being too heavy. Saffron Pistachio Rose -- 7/10 A delicate flavor made with pure Iranian saffron ice cream, rosebud garnish, and crunchy pistachio bits. Quick tip -- don't be like me and think the rosebud decoration is edible... because it's not lol. The flavor was interesting, but the saffron was very light, so it didn't stand out as much as I expected. This ended up being my least favorite of the three. Since there were so many unique flavors, the staff kindly let us sample a few others -- and I really appreciated that because it made choosing even harder! I also got to try: * Fig & Olive * Ahwa Qahveh Date (Creamy Coffee) * Sheer Moz Brulee * Konafa * Labna Honeycomb There are honestly so many flavors to explore, which just means we'll definitely be back. The servers were incredibly sweet and patient with us while we sampled, and even though they were busy, the service was still very fast and efficient. You can definitely tell this is a local favorite spot for a late-night sweet treat. Between the creative flavors, friendly service, and fun experience, this place easily makes it into my Top 5 ice cream spots. Kinrose located in the alleyway is a hidden gem. The staff is always friendly and emphasizes that you can literally sample as much as you want. With the flavors being so new to me, I truly appreciate that because not all ice cream shops are serviceable like that. My go to flavor has to be the Walnut Baklava with brown sugar. The ice cream is flavorful and creamy and they're very generous with the topping. The shop has plenty tables and seating indoors along with 2-3 tables outdoors. The only small complaint I have is the table decorations are permanently in the middle of the table haha but that doesn't take away from giving them 5 stars.
I went here yesterday afternoon. It's a hole in the wall, found it in an alley. Voices echo when people talk. I love the potted plants, makes it greener. I like the floor to ceiling windows. The employee asked us if we wanted to try the flavors. I chose the walnut baklava. A rose is on each table. Music plays through the speaker. I chose the single walnut baklava in the end. It had a perfect amount of walnut and baklava pieces or crumbs. A flower bud was placed on top to enhance the presentation which I appreciated. I ended up being full after eating it.
WOWOWOW how am I just trying out Kinrose Creamery for the first time?! This shop got all the other ice cream shops nearby running for their money. Oh my goodness. Amazing flavors! Very different from your average ice cream parlor. I'm definitely coming back and trying all of the flavors next time! Especially the banana milk one with the chocolate shell that the employee recommended! We would definitely come back here again! read more
My new favorite spot for a summer treat in the SGV! I finally found the flavor I've been dreaming about: Saffron Pistachio Rose. I've always loved fragrant desserts and have been hunting for a true rose flavor forever... this one hit just right. The Sour Cherry with Fairy Floss was another standout: tangy, creamy, and the fairy floss topping was such a fun touch. The service is always so welcoming, and the scoops are generous, which makes the experience even sweeter. Kinrose is right in Old Town Pasadena, just steps away from Salt & Straw. I used to stop at Salt & Straw every time I was in the area, but now I only come here. The flavors are unique, fragrant, and beautifully made. read more

June 27, 2025 | Pasadena | After seeing a movie nearby, three friends and I walked over to Kinrose Creamery! What a delicious surprise on a Friday night, as this place was busy! Walnut Baklava: As a lover of baklava, I knew this ice cream flavor would be a winner, and it was! Creamy & rich with flavor! Saffron Pistachio Rose: Unique flavor, which I enjoyed, as I love both saffron and pistachio! I also loved that there were actual red rose buds in the ice cream, super cute! Customer Service: Friendly, well-informed, as well as helpful with the menu! Thanks again! I ended up getting the duo for $9.50! A very warm and welcoming atmosphere! Seating | Vibe: Inside & Outside! Upbeat, music! Colorful artwork on the walls, as well as two Pac-Man video games! Fun! Overall: Yes! A very aesthetically pleasing ice cream place located in an alleyway in Downtown Pasadena. I have never been here before but my coworkers raved about the spot so we went after lunch. I won't lie, these flavors are pretty adventurous compared to a regular ice cream shop menu. Not for everyone's flavor palette. We were waiting for around 5 minutes before our orders were taken...there was only one worker at 2:30pm but he was doing his best, so kudos to him! He was super chill with us asking for a ton of samples, haha. I eventually settled on getting the Ahwa, a rich coffee ice cream with dates. Definitely on the sweeter end for sure. The presentation was cute, but the flower is not edible so be warned. Price is definitely on the higher end, not sure if it's because of its uniqueness or cause we were in Pasadena. read more

I've never tried Persian ice cream before, but I've heard great things about Kinrose Creamery, so I had to give it a try since I was in the area! The worker was so nice and friendly, allowing me to sample a few different flavors before I settled on the Pistachio Konafa with the chocolate shell. Mainly because it reminded me of the Dubai chocolate craze going around! I liked the texture of the Konafa, nice and crispy and the chocolate shell hardening to give a bit of a crunch factor as well. I wish the pistachio flavor of the ice cream was a bit stronger, as the chocolate overpowered it a bit. It was a bit empty in the store when I walked in, they have a few arcade machines in the store also. Music playing to fill in the quietness. Located on non suspecting Mills Alleyway so might be hard to spot! But overall would come back to try the other flavors! read more
Kinrose has unique ice cream flavors and kind customer service! I love the variety of Middle Eastern/Persian ingredients and special toppings that go with each flavor. I got a double scoop of sour cherry and coffee. The coffee is smooth and strong (but not too strong); it's a classic flavor that you really can't mess up. The sour cherry is a little more unique. Love the tartness that balances out the sweetness in the base, and the fairy floss is an aesthetic touch that doesn't add too much extra sugar. The employee was extremely patient, encouraging me to sample more flavors and going above and beyond by placing toppings on each sample! read more

Do I even need to review it? Look at the average . I ordered a scoop of the sour cherry and lavashak each. The sour cherry was covered in cotton candy like floss. I loved the texture, and it was not as sweet as cotton candy. The lavashak came with a very tart and sweet tamarind. Concentrate that punctuated the creaminess of the ice cream. I loved every bite. Next time, though, I think I will leave the fruit leather off. It was reminiscent of a fruit roll up, but thicker and stuck to my teeth. Still, it was delicious- just don't order it if you're on a date. Ambience was picture perfect, especially with sunlight streaming in on a hot summer afternoon. I stopped by Kinrose Creamery for the first time with some friends on Sat. May 24th at around 2:30 PM for a quick dessert after lunch. The shop is tucked away on Mills Pl, a small street in Old Town Pasadena, so it might be a little hard to find. The cool thing about the shop is that you can try as many flavors as you want, and since I've never really had Middle Eastern-style ice cream, I was able to try a few. My husband and I ended up getting a Duo - $9.50 (price as of May 2025) with Saffron Pistachio Rose and Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00). Saffront Pistachio Rose - delicate pure Iranian saffron-infused rose buds & crunchy CA pistachio bits. - This is more for my husband, who likes that rose flavor. The saffron added a distinctive, complex flavor that pairs well with the rose, floral flavors. Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell - pure pistachio ice cream in a choc hardshell and crunchy phyllo bits (konafa bits). - Thoroughly enjoyed this, the pistachio flavor was rich, and I loved eating the phyllo bits, which added an additional crunch. This one definitely leans more on the ever-so-slightly heavier creamy side when compared to the saffron pistachio rose. Few indoor seats are available with cute decor. The store is on the smaller side, and it was a little sunny when we came, so it got a little warm where we sat. Overall, great experience. I wouldn't mind coming back to try more flavors! read more

DELICIOUS Ice cream served here and some interesting ones. Saw that they had this weird floss ice cream so I had to give it a try. Short line when I arrived and got to the front in under 5 minutes. I ended up getting the Sour Cherry and Fairy Floss and I can say, personally I didn't really like the floss and felt it was unnecessary. Nonetheless the ice cream is delicious and I still think this ice cream spot is great even though I wouldn't get ones with the floss again. Texture wise, it tasted like cotton candy but to me it kind of felt like I was eating hair haha. For the ice cream itself though I know the quality is good and it was super flavorful and creamy. I would be back here just for a normal ice cream next time! read more
After dinner and a walk around Old Town Pasadena, my friend & I stopped by Kinrose Creamery for dessert on Saturday night. The shop's located in a bustling alleyway. There was live music nearby and many people dining and walking. We arrived at 8pm and there was a quick-moving queue. There's indoor seating and a few tables outside, but they fill-up quick. We managed to find seats inside and enjoyed our ice cream. I sampled the Walnut Baklava and Saffron Pistachio Rose and eventually ordered a duo cup with these 2 flavors. Both flavors were sweet and creamy. The Walnut Baklava was topped with baklava bits, which added nice texture. The Saffron Pistachio Rose was light and fragrant. Delicious ice cream inspired by Middle Eastern flavors is the perfect description. You can sample all their ice creams if you'd like. I went with saffron pistachio rose. If you're not a big fan of floral flavors, this isn't your cup of tea. My friend got Konafa. Which was sweet cream with philo. Hers was kinda basic but still tasty. I'd recommend you try their other unique flavors. Service was great. Cute interior. Make sure when you go inside to go to the right side ramp next to the stairs, that's where the line starts. This is a hidden little gem. The decor is a vibe and the ice cream flavors are like a little symphony. Middle eastern inspired flavors, some more adventurous than others, but all familiar and tasty. The young gentleman working was perfect. He gave us some insight into the flavors and let us try a bunch. For $9 you get 2 small scoops. It is rich enough to be full but not so sweet that you can't finish. I got the baklava and tamarind flavored scoops. Next time I think I might do the one with fig and another with more pistachios. Oh... and the added touch of the finishes made it a piece of art. Metered parking in the area. It's down a little side street between a Main Street (I don't remember the name of it )and another pretty populated street. Worth the stop in here for the ice cream connoisseur's. read more
I was craving a sweet treat after having dinner so I stopped by Kinrose Creamery. As somebody who enjoys floral flavors, I just had to check out the Saffron Pistachio Rose ice cream. There was a nice ratio between the pistachios and the ice cream. I really enjoyed the floral flavor of the rose in the ice cream. The ice cream had just the right amount of sweetness. The price point is a little steep but I enjoyed the ice cream nonetheless. It can be confusing to find at first as it is located in an alley. There is nearby parking on the street but you do have to pay for parking. I definitely want to try the Sesame Helva the next time that I'm in the area. read more
Tucked away in an alley, Kinrose has been in my bookmarks for quite a while. The lady at the counter was kind and patient, and we sampled a couple of flavors, all of which were unique and delicious! The orange flower pistachio was my personal favorite--floral and great texture. Saturday at 1pm there wasn't a line. There's also a decent amount of seating inside, and the ambiance is lovely as well. Price point is high but reflects the quality. Will be back! read more
Kinrose has very distinct flavors that may be an acquired taste for certain people. The interior is super cute and I like that they have late hours for when you're having a late night sweet treat craving. I've tried the Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss - the ice cream was really light, but had a good cherry flavor at the same time. I also enjoyed the "fairy floss" aka it's like cotton candy - it added a nice texture. I just recently tried the Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell and I also enjoyed this flavor! The texture of the konafa was really nice and the chocolate was an added touch that I also liked. If you're looking to try some new flavors of ice cream that you've probably never tried before I really recommend Kinrose! read more
It's been 3 years since I was last in Pasadena, and during that time, this new ice cream shop showed up in Old Town. While in town for work, a colleague had recommended this new spot. A quick look through the flavors and pictures suggested it would be a unique and cute experience, but I had to try it for myself! I showed up late Thursday afternoon, and there was no line for ice cream. The shop offers a variety of Middle Eastern-based flavors and the staff offers samples of their flavors. I opted for the Duo option (basically a split single), where I got Walnut Baklava and Sour Cherry & Fairy Floss. The presentation was indeed very cute. The sour cherry was the right amount of sourness where it wasn't overwhelming (and I'm not a fan of sour things), while the fairy floss pretty much dissolved like cotton candy once eaten. The baklava had bits of baklava throughout the scoop, and really brings out the baklava flavor through ice cream! Overall, both flavors were very creamy throughout (not icy!) and provided the right amount of sweetness. For ice cream, it's definitely quite pricey. The Duo was $9.50, which is at the higher cost end of the spectrum for ice cream. However the combination of the presentation, the service, and the unique flavors presented makes it worth the price point. Great addition to the area! read more

Very authentic Persian ice cream parlor. You know this place is legit when you see other Persians here eating their ice cream. I got the Ahwa, which is cofee with spiced dates. Sooo tasty and the spiced dates added a nice kick to the overall flavor. The only thing I wished is that they had cucumber ice cream, but it's not a deal breaker since all their flavors are so point on! read more
First off, the service is amazing. The worker made sure to carefully add toppings to each sample we received and he was so kind! The toppings on the flavors we got (walnut baklava and konafa) added a crispy texture that's hard to come by at other creameries! I personally liked the konafa over the pistachio konafa because I found the latter too sweet. read more

What a solid ice cream/dessert shop in Old Town Pasadena. Growing up I'd frequent the area and I'm soo glad we now have more of a diverse offering of desserts here! Walking in there are a couple of small tables for you to sit at. I came here an hour before closing on a Monday night and there was ample seating. The server that was behind the counter was very kind in sharing the different flavors they had. I opted for the Konafa--loved the texture and slight but not overbearing sweetness of the flavor. One thing to note is that they don't have a public restroom. I'd highly recommend parking in the lot off Green St. it's one of the cheaper parking options. read more
As someone with a tree nut allergy, staff were well educated on their ingredients lists and ensured there was no cross contamination for me, just make sure to mention it when you start sampling! I sampled the Lavashak, Fig and Olive, and the Sour Cherry base, sour cherry being my favorite. There is pistachio in the candy floss so I just got the sour cherry base. All flavors aren't too sweet or artificial, REALLY great unique flavors. I got a big single scoop and it was the perfect after dinner treat. Heard about this place through a friend so decided to give it a try. This quaint ice cream store features Persian ice cream and as someone who hasn't had much exposure to Persian food, this was definitely interesting. I loved how the staff let us sample different flavors. We ended up getting the sour cherry and fairy floss. It was quite interesting- a bit of sourness yet sweetness from the floss. It was a very unique taste, which I can't really pinpoint. But it was a good experience and the inside decor is super cute. read more
Located on a small alley street is this gem ice cream creamery with impeccable service. Staff were super friendly and allowed you to try the various flavors without pressuring you. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. I think it's awesome that they have 2 retro style Pac Man arcade inside for those who want a bit of nostalgia. 1. Saffron Pistachio Rose (5/5) Interesting combo of floral notes and nuttiness. They use real pistachio nuts so a plus there as I am not a fan of artificially flavored foods. The saffron spice had a rich earthy aroma, yet added subtle sweetness that surprisingly works well in ice cream and paired well with the pistachio. There's not much rose flavor as it's more of a small rose they add on top as the final touch, which I think is more for aesthetic than for flavoring. It's definitely refreshing. 2. Sesame Halvah (5/5) I have never had halvah before so this was something new and exciting for me. The ice cream flavor was a combo of rich sesame with subtle coconut milk flavor. It's creamy, yet not super sweet or rich. The sweetness comes mostly from the halvah floss that they put on top. Halvah is a Middle Eastern, gluten-free, tahini-based confectionery dessert. The halvah floss reminded me of candied floss; it's basically shredded from halvah bricks. It has a rich, nutty flavor with a unique, fudge-like texture that just delightfully melts in your mouth. Their latest Sheer Moz Brûlée - banana milk with a brûlée crust. Absolute banger flavor. Real and pure banana mixed in the milk cream, the light char of sugar. Amazing 10/10. I got a double scoop with the tried and true orange blossom pistachio flavor as well and thank god this spot is far from me, otherwise my waistline would be mad, but my heart definitely wouldn't be haha. so happy i don't have to make a trek to west la to get middle eastern flavours! i absolutely love orange blossom and pistachio and kinrose gets it spot on. we got the sour cherry with candy floss on top. the presentation is beautiful and inviting. not terribly sweet, as you'd expect but light and airy and once you get to the cherry, it's delightfully tart and creamy. the chairs are so unique and eclectic - it feels like i'm in a boujie furniture store. great place to catch up with a friend and indulging in delicious ice cream! read more
overall: I love the unique flavors they offer and I'd come back to try some of the other flavors. food: we got the saffron pistachio rose and the ahwa (coffee). both were super good. the coffee flavor was pleasantly strong. service: the staff were super friendly and helpful and offered suggestions. there are couple paid parking structures in the area which makes parking easy. ambiance: inside and outside has a handful of tables and but they can fill up pretty quickly. it's not too noisy inside either. read more

Kinrose has some of the most unique flavors out there! You can sample however many flavors and they will accompany the sample with the corresponding toppings. We landed on the walnut baklava flavor. It was seriously so yummy. The baklava adds the perfect texture to the creamy brown sugar ice cream. The inside has a couple tables to enjoy their ice cream and even has a pacman machine! Although the prices are pretty steep, I will definitely return to try more of their Mediterranean flavors! read more
