I had been here a few months earlier and had a positive experience. But this last visit showed me they have really upped their game. They have introduced a Taste of Georgia menu, which is the perfect prix fixe experience for someone who has never had Georgian food before. It was a wonderful experience to share and try food together, get to experience some new things, but still feel confident that there will be something up your alley. It's a journey and we trusted their guidance! We LOVED the food so much, the beef soup dumplings and hot apps were the highlight for me, the service was wonderful, the ambiance is different depending which side you sit on (I prefer the right personally, while the left is more modern) but it's beautiful no matter what. It's BYOB, which is very easy and personally I love bringing my own bottle. There are also drinks, including a fun tarragon Georgian soda for non alcoholic options. I'd definitely come back, I'll be enjoying this spot as much as I can before it's too hard to get a table! It's also nice that they are open relatively late. One suggestion: print a prix fixe menu! This place is amazing!! We came here for a birthday dinner and everyone was super impressed with the food and service. We tried to order a bit of everything - Georgian salad, pan fried potatoes with mushroom, pkhali trio (carrot, eggplant, spinach), chicken skewer, chicken petite, imeruli khachapuri, khinkali (meat, mushroom), chashushuli, kuchmachi and the tolma. Georgian salad (5/5) - Love the dressing and the nice mix of veggies. Was very refreshing. Pan fried potatoes with mushroom (5/5) - Potatoes were nice and crispy and had great aromatic Pkhali trio (4/5) - This spread was so cool and loved how they were shaped in little balls. Out of the three flavors we chose, we all agreed carrot tasted the best! Chicken Skewer (3.5/5) - I had a taste of this and it wasn't anything special compared to the rest of the dishes. But then again, I'm not usually the biggest fan of chicken skewers so I could be biased. Chicken petite (5/5) - Chicken was nice and juicy and came with a delicious tomato sauce. Imeruli Khachapuri (5/5) - A classic, everyone loved these! They're like a super cheesy calzone, but better. They are heavy so one for the table should be enough!! Khinkali (4/5) - the dough on these soup dumplings are on the thicker side. The original is the meat dumpling, but I think I preferred the mushroom one! Chashushuli (4/5) - Nice stew, did not taste spicy though. It leans more on the sweeter side but I still enjoyed it. Kuchmachi (5/5) - wowowow I was so obsessed with this dish!! The mushrooms paired with the mashed potato and chef's sauce were delicious!!! I couldn't get enough of the flavors and was the highlight of my meal!! Great atmosphere, service and food to pair. This was my first visit to Kinto, and I'm so glad to have Georgian food closer to this area than hiking to the northeast. Our server offered the $50 taste of Georgia that could be made vegetarian, meat or 50/50 both. We decided to go for the vegetarian option. Everything was so flavorful and fresh it's hard to choose a favorite. We had plenty of leftovers to bring home as well, and the meal was served with homemade Georgian lemonade, a little sweet but still refreshing. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very inviting. Good service can sometimes go unnoticed. Unfortunately, bad service can completely ruin a meal. I made a reservation on Valentine's weekend because my girlfriend had been dying to have 'the bread with the center cut and filled with cheese and an egg yolk' so badly that she had been talking about it for weeks. We arrived and were informed they needed to keep to a strict 90 minute seating limit. We didn't think that would be a problem. We were quickly seated. It took a few minutes for a waiter to stop by, however, we knew exactly what we wanted, so quickly ordered the aforementioned bread, dumplings, and two entrees. It took 15ish minutes for the dumplings to arrive, however, they were made fresh and tasty. We were happy and catching up on our week so were not worried that we didn't see our server much. Then, the wrong dish arrived about 10 minutes later. I'm not quite sure which it was, but it was not the bread we ordered. No worries, the runner turn around to correct our order. On the way, our server heard, took the dish from the runner, took it back to our table, and informed us this was what we ordered. We explained again that we did not order the dish and reminded him we even pointed to the dish on the menu to ensure we got the right bread. After an eye roll and a lot of attitude, they took the wrong dish away and told us we'd get the right bread. 20ish minutes go by and we get our bread, with the yolk already broken, quickly followed by our entrees. We had time to eat, but basically were up to the limit and unable to order dessert. The table next to us ran into the same problem earlier and was told they couldn't even order dessert. At this point, the mood was damp, so we didn't even bother to ask, paid, and left. I honestly hate leaving a review like this one. However, I am still sort of in shock from the amount of attitude we received that I feel it was worth sharing. Maybe it was just a really busy day and a bit of stress. Wanted to celebrate daughter's graduation someplace special and she chose Kinto, which was a first time for everyone. Not knowing exactly when the graduation ceremony ends, they graciously accommodated change in our reservation time. The interior was cozy and thoughtfully decorated. Our server was attentive and patient. Most of us were excited to try Georgian food for the first time, and our daughter, who chose Kinto really enjoyed the food. But. I don't think it appeals to everyone, some people were most disappointed with the desserts. Overall, would I return? Yes, but only with certain people. read more

This was my first time having Georgian food in years and this place did not disappoint! From the food, to the service, to the beautifully decorated interior, I love this place. We were told that this restaurant just opened back in the summer time and I am looking forward to seeing how this place grows! It's off of a Main Street so parking might be a little challenging but the food is definitely worth it. It looked like minced vegetables - beet, carrot, spinach - mixed into a thick spread and formed into little balls. Gorgeous presentation. The kihinkali - we chose mushroom soup - were delicious because who didn't love giant dumplings you eat with your hands? The kachipuri (cheese boat) was delicious. We also got chicken skewers, which came with some delicious sides. Bread with most dishes was great. Staff were kind about telling us how the food is usually eaten in Georgian culture. Service was friendly but not overbearing. I think this cuisine is best suited to a cold day. It's warm and comforting. The room is stylish and cozy but not cramped. I've never been to a Georgian restaurant before nor have I ever had Georgian food so we decided to order modestly just in case. We ordered the Georgian Salad, the Chashusuli and the Napoleon Cake (just because the waiter was so convincing). The salad, while so simple, was very good. The vegetables are crisp and fresh and the salad dressing was so tasty. I wish I could have bought a bottle of it. We had the Chashusuli with cauliflower (next time I'll try meat). Omg, it is so, so good! You get the tang of the tomato sauce with an underlying mildly sweet taste. So much flavor. Now I've never had a Napoleon so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like but it was light and not too sweet which I really enjoyed. The restaurant is quite nice and has a great vibe. They were playing music through the restaurant and we overheard another table ask them if it was traditional Georgian music, which it wasn't, but they did turn it on for all to hear what it sounds like. Kinto had been on my list to visit for awhile, but accidentally stumbled upon it while visiting the area and luckily got a table without a reservation. The menu looked amazing and overall pretty affordable. We wanted to taste everything, so when our server recommended the tasting menu, it was hard to say no. They brought out beautiful dips to taste with fluffy warm bread, in addition to the steaming hot cheese bread. The next course was filled with multiple curries to taste, empanadas, potatoes, and more. The ambiance of the restaurant was also so warm and homey. First time trying Georgian food and didn't know what to expect but everything we had was absolutely delicious!! The bread was super fluffy and warm but also had a crisp to it. The egg dish had the most delicious cheeses in there. The dips trio was probably the most familiar to us in terms of flavors/ things we've had before. The Pkhali balls were so full of flavors and we were surprised by the carrot one and loved it! Even the sodas were delicious, they weren't like our typical sodas. A truly special spot, I've been lucky to go to quite a few Georgian spots across NYC and Philly and I think Kinto takes the cake for most authentic. The Georgian salad was perfect, they got the walnut dressing just right. And the khachapuri had the perfect amount of cheese in it and it tasted just like in Georgia. We love Georgian food, but usually have to travel to the Northeast, so we're pleasantly surprised to read the sidewalk signage with dinner specials listed. The restaurant is sleek and new with nice ambient lighting. We were seated at a cozy table in the window, our server was attentive and friendly. We were familiar with some of the popular dishes on the menu, but saw a few unfamiliar dishes, and went with a few of them. The cheesy bread with egg was so good. Stuffed cabbage didn't taste like the Polish version we know, the filling was tender and melted in your mouth, the salad was flavorful and refreshing, the soup was amazing. Honestly, this is a perfect spot. Great ambiance, incredible food, central location, fast and friendly service, byob, reasonable prices. This is the kind of restaurant that will make you WANT to eat out. I'll be shocked if I can still get a table here without a reservation in 2 months. This place is fantastic. The interior is really really nice and the bar decor is cool. We had the Pkhali Trio (green bean, eggplant, spinach), the Khinkali (soup dumplings), and Shkmeruli. Everything was really delicious but the Shkmeruli stole the show, I want to drizzle that sauce on everything I eat from now on. The dessert someone else got looked amazing but I was too full to try it! The staff were all really nice and wanted to make sure we had a good time and enjoyed our food. Great food, nice ambience. However, the hostess is very unprofessional and rude. After we arrived at the restaurant, she sat us by the front door with a very tight space for 4. I requested to move to a roomier table in the back (there were plenty spaces available at the time), and she refused and said we have reserved a certain table which we didn't as we have never been there before. I recommend the management train the hostess and make her a little more pleasant, understanding and accommodating or the customers may not return because of her inflexibility and lack of hospitality. The waiter was great though and he came to my rescue. He was super helpful and did move us to a better location in the back. We appreciated that. However the interaction with the hostess made my kids uncomfortable so the evening was tainted by that. The restaurant needs to understand that people come and pay their money for a pleasant experience. You cannot simply refuse to accommodate when there were plenty of spaces available. There was no posted policy whatsoever regarding no moving table allowed. After all, the old saying is "customers are always right" and I still believe in that. read more

Came here for dinner. I had no idea what Georgian food was so it was a little adventure. The interior was beautiful. Dimly lit but not so much so that you couldn't read a menu. Music was on in the background but at a comfortable volume so you could have conversation with out straining or shouting. Clearly the staff are well practiced at giving every new patron an overview of Georgian food, culture, and anything else you want to know as they went into detail describing dishes and more. We started with meat soup dumplings. Our server had to explain to us how to eaten them (use the twisted end as a handle to pick it up. Bite in and drink the soup inside. Don't use a knife or fork) These were delicious. The dough of the dumpling was tender with a perfect chew. Meat and soup were perfectly seasoned. I then had the cabbage rolls (I admit it, I played it safe. Won't do that next time) Well seasoned in a delicious tomato sauce. Oh, where do I start with Kinto, whether it be the atmosphere or the friendly service, it is always a great time! Some of my favorites are the Pkhali Trio, The Eggplant Rolls, as well as the Georgian Salad. The Borjomi Sparkling water is great too, makes me feel amazing with all the minerals right from Georgia! I like the fact that it is BYOB as well so the focus is on what they do best, THE FOOD!!! Definitely a neighborhood gem in Fishtown. If you are vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant you will still find something delicious to eat. Everything we had to eat was wonderful and unique. So just to cover everything: Pkihali trio (delicious walnut heavy dips with yummy herbs); eggplant roll (think eggplant meets Georgian dip); Georgian salad (best dressing and fresh herbs); Adjaruli Khachapuri (if you like bread and cheese this is a MUST); Kinkhali mushroom dumplings (so savory); chicken kebab and chicken skewers so good but skewers is more pure chicken vs. like a kafta (ground chicken). As soon as we walked in we were met with a beautiful interior, and calming jazz music; the hostess sat us right away.
