Beef original ramen, missing the egg
    Wendy T.

Ordered takeout. This place took over the old shwarma place. Ambiance - my significant other picked up our order so I'm not sure what it looks like inside. Food - 2/5: We got the meal for 2 which comes with 2 ramen, 1 gyoza (pork or vegetable) or Tokyo fries, and 2 pops (canned). We ordered the pork spicy garlic ramen and beef original ramen. We got 2 cans of coke and gyoza (we ordered pork). The gyoza was nicely fried, a little tangy inside. A little spicy with the spicy mayo sauce on top. The packaging for the utensils and container were nice. The container also had suggestions on how to rewarm the food. After comparing the orders from the menu online to what we received, we then realized how bad the mix up was. On top of that, they mixed up the broths. The "beef" that came with mine did not taste like beef, more like dried pork. And they are thin, rectangulae pieces. Mine was not supposed to have garlic (although I don't mind). Unfortunately the spicy soup base that it ended coming with was too spicy for my palate so the garlic couldnt be cooked a little in the broth. By the time we realized the broth was mixed up, it was already too late. I was also supposed to have an egg but that was not there either. Because I couldnt drink the broth, the amount of food that came is a very small portion and not filling at all. Service - 0.5/5 not impressed. They messed up our order a lot despite them confirming the order with me over the phone multiple times. And I gave them 3 hours to prepare the food As both of us are yelpers, unfortunately we are not impressed at all. Overall: 2/5 - in no hurry to try it in person.

Ordered takeout. Not impressed with the order. Ambiance - We got the meal for 2, that came with 2 Ramen, 1 gyoza and 2 pop. I ordered the pork spicy garlic Ramen and my signifant other had the beef original Ramen. The place was empty, yet, they mixed up 2 of the Ramen that was ordered. The order that we have received was completely WRONG. My pork spicy garlic Ramen came with a soup base that is NOT spicy. Moreover, it wasn't supposed to have an egg, but I found an egg. Not only did they mess up the order, they mislabeled the containers as well. The gyoza was ok at best.

We visited this location and tried their seasonal ramen: the Golden Sesame and Swicy. My partner enjoyed the former while I absolutely loved the latter. Both were very flavourful and generously portioned. We also ordered Chicken Karaage, gyoza and green tea. This location is very spacious with high ceilings and has a relaxed vibe. There are ample parking spots since they are located in a plaza. Their staff is very friendly.

I got the spicy garlic with beef and the flavours were great. It had a good amount of garlic (you can choose how much to mix in) and it was quite spicy. A little on the pricier side - the portion was small (compared to Pho) but filling. I just wish they added more broth to it! The gyoza were pretty good too. Good service and a small and cozy interior.

A little pricey, but really nice ramen. We ordered thick noodles, and I enjoyed the texture. Broth was exceptional. Flavourful but not overwhelmingly salty. Half boiled egg was just right. Services was lovely.

Very good food at very fair prices. Staff was informative and attentive. Been here a couple of times now and the food has always been good, they've mastered ramen noodles, hot and cold. Had the cold noodles today because of the hot weather. Thought it would be strange but it was delightful. Food came out quickly. Place was nice and clean.

The restaurant was at a busy location, which was the end of the driveway, everyone sees it before making a turn. The staff was nice when we walked in. We were greeted and directed to a corner table where was better with a baby. We showed them 2 coupons, 1 for ramen and 1 for fried chicken. The staff needed to talk to the owner about them. After a few seconds, she came back and said only 1 coupon per visit. We were a bit disappointed, because we were so hard to dine out with a baby, and not able to come again with a long drive and a baby. We talked to their owner, he was nice to let us try both at the same time. Oh yeah! So we have 1 original ramen with black garlic oil, and 1 tomato base. It won't take long to wait. The fried chicken came first, it was not like the breaded chicken, it fried from original, but after marinated; it has taste, but not salty. The 2 ramen came at the same time. They both really rich, but not so salty, because the salt level could be altered; the noodle size could be chosen as well, we did 1 thick and 1 thin. They both looked similar. Overall, the ramen and the chicken all looked good and tasty. I would like to come again if next time I come around this area, even though they were a bit pricey.

At first the broth wasn't that impressive, but it definitely grew on me as I ate. I loved the flavour on the chashu (none of that bland unflavored pork here) and the shiitake mushrooms were also marinated very well (though they were a bit on the sweet side). Don't be fooled by the photo - there is a lot of noodle in there! They also offer a free kids meal deal for kids under 12 with an order of two bowls of ramen, which is pretty nice if you're eating out as a family.

After trying Sansotei and Kinton, I thought we didn't need to try another chain ramen restaurant. To be honest, I didn't have any expectations before eating there. I also hadn't checked whether Midori Ramen had good reviews. My wife and I simply didn't know what to eat that day, so we randomly chose Midori Ramen. However, the first sip of the ramen broth really surprised me. It was thick, rich, and strong, with an explosive chicken flavour bursting from that single sip. It was definitely as strong as the ramen I had in Japan. I think it was even stronger than Ikkousha Ramen's chicken broth, or at least equal to it. Also, this Midori location in Richmond Hill has a modern, Tokyo-style interior, which makes it more unique than other ramen restaurants in the GTA. Most of them usually try to create a warm, wooden, and bright atmosphere. Midori's ambiance is modern and cool, but still comfortable. If you want to have ramen but don't know which place to try, don't dismiss Midori. It might surprise you, and it definitely won't disappoint you.

The service is very minimal, the waiter just took our order, dropped three cups of water and never came back. I don't think we will go back.

My rating is 4.5 stars. I'll round up…read more Kinton Ramen currently has a handful of BOGO (buy one item, get another for free) deals happening on Uber Eats. All my Kinton Ramen visits never consisted of a BOGO deal, so I was happy to change things up. I didn't realize that Vaughan had a Kinton Ramen. I know that one has recently opened at CF Markville Mall. However, I was running errands west of Markham and this location was on my way to them. I ordered the following items: - Golden duo with thick noodles - Yuzu cheesecake Both were BOGO deals. I got an estimated time as I was leaving Richmond Hill. I would get to this eatery a few minutes after the specified ready time. I had no problem finding a parking spot. A vehicle had pulled out of a spot steps away from the entrance. I backed into it. It was a good day. I walked in. There was a customer ahead of me who seemed nervous and fidgety. I stood in line behind him. It was trying to figure out why he was reacting that way that interested me. There were two staffers. The male one was nice and came over to me. I said that I had an Uber Eats order. I showed it on my phone. He nodded and headed to work with the male chef behind the counter and his female colleague next to him. The female colleague needed help putting together an order. The male one helped her sort things out. She had put the wrong noodles and broth in a paper bag with handles. She had to take the lids off the ramen bowls to figure out the contents inside. She had to bag two broths in containers. I have always been an observer. I'm also patient -- perhaps too patient for my own good. The man in front of me had every right to be nervous. She was packing up his takeout order and had messed up, which likely caused him to get all nervous and looked at me three times during this ordeal. I never made eye contact with him, as I didn't need his nervous energy extended to me. I did the fourth time when I watched her get his order right. Our eyes met and I smiled that he got his order right. He smiled back. It's always about context. It's the only reason why I'd give this experience 4.5 stars. The confused female staffer didn't exude confidence to two customers watching her pack up an order. There were two pairs of diners while I was here. It felt like a relaxed setting slurping ramen and conversing in this eatery. I should dine here next time. It felt comfortable. The male staffer, on the other hand, was competent. I saw him pack two ramen bowls, two broth containers, and two boxes containing cheesecake into my paper bag. He then carefully sealed everything with stickers and handed the bag with handles over to me. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He reciprocated, almost with a sigh of relief. I headed to my car and drove off. My next couple of errands were by my workplace. I decided to have lunch there. I had half my food for lunch. I had the rest at home today. The golden duo consisted of your choice of noodles (thin or thick) in a pork broth that had white sesame paste. The protein was seasoned ground pork. It had a marinated egg, bean sprouts, scallions, bamboo shoot, wood ear mushroom, chili oil, shredded chili pepper, white pepper, and a few crispy fried onions on top. I went with thick noodles. You can't customize any items in the ramen bowls on Uber Eats. I am frankly not a fan of bamboo shoot. Luckily, there were four strips that I easily removed from my bowl of ramen. The broth was still pipping hot. I placed everything in an insulated bag. Both broth containers were placed in a plastic bag. I appreciated that packing detail. I poured one of the broth containers into my ramen. I then loosened up my thick ramen noodles and chowed down. The golden duo was yummy. The broth was rich and creamy. The thick noodles were chewy and perfectly cooked. I loved the flavours in my ramen. The seasoned ground pork was perfect with the bean sprouts, scallions, and marinated egg. This bowl of ramen did have a spicy kick. My bowl at the office wasn't terribly spicy. The one that I had at home had a stronger level of spiciness. Both were great. I normally don't get utensils. Since I was eating at the office and didn't have the proper utensils, I said yes. The spoon from Kinton Ramen was gorgeous and deep, which allowed me to enjoy every spoonful of broth and more. I actually washed it out and stored in my locker at work... haha! The golden duo was equally as yummy a day later. I'm not sure if the spiciness elevated overnight, but it was nice. The cheesecake at Kinton Ramen tends to be on the smaller side, which I appreciate. I've had the matcha and loved it. I went with yuzu and it was awesome. I loved the citrusy brightness that the yuzu brought to the cheesecake. It was the perfect richness to end my meal. I look forward to getting more ramen from this eatery. There's a veggie immune booster ramen bowl that I wouldn't mind trying. It's currently a part of the BOGO deal. (105)

Initially looked busy and thought there may be a wait, but the line was actually for the dessert place that shares the same entrance. My friend ordered the Avocado Vegetarian Ramen as part of a set. We were both intrigued by the taste of the broth. It was creamy, but not super thick, and had a fresh, vegetal taste. One miss this time was that my friend ordered a drink, but unfortunately it did not come out at all while we ate. Konjiki is good, far from great, but very solid. The broth has the right consistency with a satisfying richness, falling just a touch short of the deep, creamy intensity I personally look for. The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining just the right amount of bite. Nothing ruins a bowl of ramen faster than overcooked noodles. The soft-boiled egg was equally well executed, with a perfectly jammy center, and the chashu had excellent flavor and texture. My biggest criticism isn't what's missing....it's what's added. Like many ramen shops outside Japan, Konjiki includes pickled ginger, pickled takana, and braised bamboo shoots. For me, none of them improve the bowl. In fact, I think they distract from what should be the star of the show: the broth. In hindsight, I could have easily asked for them to be left out, but I've never really understood why they're included in the first place. Even so, this is a very respectable bowl of tonkotsu ramen and one I'd happily order again.

Let's say there was far too much hype. I just ordered a miso ramen to try. The noodle texture was average, and it should be thicker. The soup was THIN. The default amount of toppings was alright - they give you both halves of the egg unlike some other places. The meat is a decent thickness. And you get a few other toppings without having to pay extra. But overall, since the two key aspects of ramen - noodles and soup - are mediocre at best, I will not be returning.
