Not consistent with following up and communication. Did not repair my vehicle correctly. Took vehicle home, after they worked on it and drove it. The bumper (which they worked on) started to come apart, within a week! I bought vehicle back and was told they would look at and fix it with no charge. No charge? They should have fixed it without another charge, no questions asked! They said they worked on another part of the vehicle (key fob error), but it was not done. Their office hour says closed at 5:30 and when I went to pick up my car just a few minutes before 5:00 PM ,their office was already closed with the clerk in his car with my keys, waiting to go home. Not acceptable they should either change their office hours or wait until all customers have been notified of an early closing. read more

I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Kirby. I was in a fender bender and the collision crew made sure I was taken care of. My insurance quote was less than their quote and they collaborated with my insurance to make sure it was approved by my insurance company. They were super communicative and I felt I could trust them with my vehicle, especially after a traumatic experience with another mechanic (RST Automotive, stay away!). Following an auto accident where my mother-in-law, a disabled senior citizen, was rear-ended. We were looking for a local auto body shop to repair her vehicle. Unfortunately, we brought her vehicle here. As you can see when you pull into Kirby collision, the place is an absolute mess. Rest assured, they are as much of a mess inside as they are outside. Our insurance company sent a two-party check to this body shop. Without any invoice or bill at the time, this autobody shop their management team and/or accountant decided it was appropriate to forge my mother-in-law's signature on the back of the check in order to deposit it. Unknown to them, we caught this right away as this froze funds preventing my mother-in-law from being able to settle her claim with the insurance company. As soon as we discovered that our vehicle was at a business that was willing to forge someone's signature on a check and deposit it to capture funds they had no entitlement to. We immediately removed our vehicle. Please save yourself the time, and the headache, and never consider doing business with Kirby collision. This is not a reputable business, they have no integrity, additionally, they're willing to break the law to steal your money. Our insurance carrier, and my mother-in-law's lawyer will be pursuing this matter further. Unfortunately, Mike, the manager, thought that forging a signature on the back of a two-party check, is a minor issue. He also acknowledged that my mother-in-law had never been present to sign the check and therefore, the signature on the back of the check could not have been hers, but offered no kind of apology for the actions of his staff. Luckily, we're done here. Unfortunately, for Kirby collision their headache regarding the forged signature on this payment that they deposited has just begun. if Kirby collision is willing to forge the signature of a disabled senior citizen on the back of a check, what corners do you think they're willing to cut on your claim or your auto repairs? Are you willing to find out? *UPDATE* Kirby did not complete any repairs to our vehicle. At no time were we presented with or asked to sign a power of attorney. Nor would we have. We've not been elated with any portion of Kirby's handling. Per their own comments, they admitted to depositing a check they had no authorization to deposit. State Farm issued it as a placeholder so Kirby knew we were acting in good faith and intended to have them complete the repairs. Our car was deemed a total loss and Kirby's forged the signature and deposited the payment freezing funds needed to reimburse my mother in law for the replacement cost of her vehicle. Kirby has asked Yelp to remove our review which is 100% honest and truthful. We will not willingly remove it. We have removed the unrelated photos. Would you trust these people? read more

Let me put it this way, I'd choose the employees / People I met there as friends I could rely on. Seriously, they spoke with me at my level of understanding - very very high because I've been a car guy and mechanical engineer for over 5 decades ! Damn ! And friendly too. It was clear they enjoyed my high level questions because I was considering rebuilding a wonderful car that had been totaled by my insurance company. Kirby actually actively tried to get insurance company to reconsider. Insurance company played along and Kirby disassembled and tested more and more of our complex car. I think the insurance company had them attack the issue three different times and ways and Kirby guys were just plain happy to work with me and insurance. Car remained totaled. (MERCURY insurance gets a bad rap often, but our experiences have been excellent btw.) Drat. It's somehow very obvious that KIRBY has a really real and delightful company culture that cares for people and enjoys the car industry ! I don't like to write negative reviews, but I had a frustrating experience with Kirby and I found myself wishing that someone had taken the time to warm me before I chose them to fix my fender because I did read through their reviews first. So, to help other customers, I thought I would prepare a short translation of what I heard, and what was actually meant. When they say: "I'll call you back" it means, "I won't call you back." "Your car will be ready on Monday" means, "Your car won't be ready on Monday (and I won't call you to tell you that.)" When you call to confirm the car is ready, you need to have the "I'll call you back" translation (above) ready to use a few times, (along with the closely related "I'll leave a message for someone to call you back" which has the same translation). Then, "At the absolute latest your car will be ready Wednesday afternoon." means "Your car will not be ready Wednesday afternoon (and again, I won't call you tell you that so go ahead and make your plans to come pick it up)." "I'll buff out the scratches on your bumper." means, "I'll forget to buff out the scratches on your bumper." You probably get the idea. Once you get the hang of this translation guide, you can apply it to pretty much everything you hear from them. I gave them two stars instead of one because the bodywork they did on my fender was competent. read more

Five stars for Kirby body shop in Oxnard. My brand new Subaru Impreza and was hit in the front right quarter panel and the front axel was bent. Kirby collision body shop did the repair and now it is as good as new! We had a lot of trouble getting the money from the other driver's insurance company to pay for the repairs, but with a lot of time and extra effort, going above and beyond , the Kirby body shop manager, Ozzy Carrasco ,was able to work his magic and make it all happen for us. Took my car in for body work due to a freeway debris ding to my hood. Was told it would be a week to fix so I was pleasantly surprised when it was done in 3 days. Called to ask if I should return my rental first or look at the work then return the rental. They suggested I could do either but thought I could expedite matters by returning the rental. So I did. When I saw the work on the vehicle, I noticed pock marks on the paint and brought it immediately to my service advisor Mike who assured me they were just marks previously there and had resulted from freeway driving or pebble or sand. I said they were not there before. He basically brushed off my concerns. He then followed up with "our work is guaranteed . Don't forget to give a review!". I was bugged because I should have looked at the work first before returning the rental - my bad. I drove the car home showed the paint job to my hubby- didn't say one thing or give him a "face". His response was - "Sh#tty paint job!" This irritated me so much since now..as we all know.. time is money, yours, mine,his! I called the insurance company to complain about the work and they encouraged me to take the car back in. I hemmed and hawed for a couple weeks then decided I would go through my insurance company, who is AAA - they're the best btw-and return the vehicle to be done correctly. I knew that would mean another day to deal with renting a car, seeing that advisor etc! Bad feelings and stress! But I did it and they actually made right by making the rental process easy and the car was done by the end of the day. Maybe 6 hours max. They also detailed my car inside and out which is making me give them 4 stars instead of the 2.5 I initially was going to give them. The second time in I dealt directly with the manager which did make me feel more comfortable. read more

Absolutely the worst place to take your car for repair! We choose them because they were AAA approved but that was the only reason and what a mistake. We had to bring our car back 3 times! They did a horrible job of trying to blend the paint on our hood because they only did a small section instead of the whole hood like any normal shop would do. They let Jose loose with the buffer and scratched areas of the trunk and rear lenses that weren't even being repaired! Finally they got sticky over-spray over the entire car and had to get some hack detailer to remove it which removed the entire clear coat of my existing paint and I had sand throughs on several areas. There's some kind of shady back-room palm greasing going on here between AAA and these guys so even though they are a preferred shop steer clear! read more

If you need a collision center/body shop that does things right, then this is the one. Most places have the tools, but good results depend on the technicians and customer service. Eddie took care of everything in a courteous and professional manner. The interface with the insurance company was seamless so I didn't have to worry about anything. Eddie clearly explained the repair process and basis for estimate. He also kept me informed of parts delivery and backlog status. When all material was available he gave me options for vehicle delivery and an accurate estimate for work completion. Bottom line is Kirby Collision Center and Eddie provided excellent customer service and did a great job replacing a door on my Telluride, including paint and parts. read more

We recently worked with both the collision center AND service department at Kirby Kia. Eddie at the collision center was extremely kind, responsive and great at communicating with us. Our daughters car needed a new door lock, but with pandemic supply chain issues it was very hard to find a part for her car. Eddie worked with the insurance company, a locksmith and several parts companies to find a way (when it seemed like there was none) to get our car fixed. He could have given us standard customer service which would've been okay, but he truly went out of his way to help us. He cared about our daughter's broken heart and really became the bridge to get her back on the road, from getting her lock fixed to connecting us with Nathan and Chad Sides in the service department who took care of some other concerns for us. Pete and Mike in the collision center were also very kind to us. It's never fun to have a car in a collision center, but these guys made it better. Highly recommend. read more

I came in a month ago and spoke with David Sanchez. I wasn't looking to purchase a vehicle more than $15,000. I kept thinking no way I can afford a brand new car and pay those monthly payments. Especially since I didn't have the best credit and I had no Co signer. I was terrified!!!! David was super understanding and made me feel comfortable. After a few hours David worked his magic and I left with a 2017 Certified used Kia Optima. It was practically brand new with Less than 6,000 miles. I'm able to afford it with low interest. My experience at Kirby Collision was not a good one. They fixed all the issues created in my accident but they also created new issues that they could not repair. They left swivel markings all over my car and could not remove them. The paint also had little deflated bubbles in it which gave to illusion of inverted dots. I went back once for them to remove the swivels and only 60% was removed. I went back a second time when i noticed the dots everywhere and they asked me to leave the car with them so they could repair the paint. I left the car with them for over 2 weeks. After their second attempt i still noticed the dots on 25% of the car. Additionally the car had new swivel marking. The first time they took my car they gave it back with a missing panel and they paid to have it replaced but then a week later i found it under my seat. The second time they had my car they left scratch marks on my window from what i assume was a buffer. Also they buffed my panelings which made them look horrible. They also put clear coat on one of the plastic panels that never should have been coated or buffed. My experience was extremely frustrating. They made way too many mistaked and I had to come back various times and they still could not leave my car in the condition I wanted. Now i will have to pay for a detailer about 300$ to remove the swivel marking. It will only take him about 2 hours to get the job done and i cannot understand why kirby collision does not know how to fix this. I will have to pay out of pocket to have their errors fixed. Im tired of the body shop asking me to bring them back my car. Definately never going back when my mistake was to trust them the first time. Also I saw similar swivel markings on other cars they had in their lot so i know i am not the only one confronting these issues. Good luck if you choose kirby collision. read more
