Eugene was amazingly helpful. I had to get my car smog checked and it didn't pass twice at the other smog check stations I've been to. The first guy wasn't helpful.. The second guy at the smog check referred me here cause he didn't know what the problem was. Eugene checked my vehicle and asked insightful questions about my car. It turns out after having my battery replaced which 'restarted' my vehicle's system and Eugene helped reset it for me and gave me routes to drive so my car could get up to par with the mileage for the smog check. After checking it twice (cause we didn't drive enough the first time), he helped pass me for my smog check! Someone from this shop needs to learn how to replace spark plug seals. They were replaced in 2020 which was the first time the valve covers came off to replace them since the truck was bought new. The valve covers came off for the second time recently to replace my cam seals, only to find the inner linings butchered. They all seemed fine from the outside, but the inside was all messed up! That's very dishonest and unprofessional. Shame on your employee who did this to my truck! read more

We took it back in thinking they would guarantee their work but they told us that it would require another $550. Extremely impressed with this shop. I called them yesterday because my car recently developed a decent oil leak that was getting out of hand. They told me I could bring it by today at opening. I dropped it off at 7:30 this morning and they had the oil leak fixed, oil and filter changed, windshield wipers replaced, and a burnt bulb replaced all by 11:30am that same day. Eugene is the BEST. My boyfriend recommended I come here after being quoted over 3k in repairs by the Lexus dealer and big brand tire for things I really didn't feel like I needed. I have been looking for a small honest shop in ventura county for years but unfortunately had a few bad experiences that led me to take my car to the dealership for services.. I took my Lexus to Eugene knowing that I did need a few things done and showing him what I was told I needed by the other shops and what they quoted me. He did a full inspection and let me know that like I suspected the shops were telling me I needed so many services that I really did not need at all. He ended up changing my spark plus and a couple filters which I knew going in that my car needed and charged me half the price that the other shops quoted me for these services. Not only did he charge me much less, but he also was able to take my car in with little to no notice and I got it back the next afternoon. I couldn't be happier to have found this shop and will be bringing my car back for any future services. Unhappy with work performed. Quoted us a price, and then later charged $100 more for a $10 part he had to buy. BUT he did less work than was first discussed. If anything the price should have gone down instead of up. FYI: Kevin, the invoice was written up under my bf's name. Not all the reviews on here are positive so to say that mine is fake is just as "unfair" as you currently feel. I just guess it boils down to you can't please every customer that walks in. Charged me 100 for diagnostic check, but really just hooked my car up to a hand held code reader and did not check my car for problems. I was then quoted a ridiculous price for what they thought I needed to get done saying they are like a doctor, and my car is the patient. WHAT?? They treated me like I am clueless, who has never dealt with mechanics before. I unfortunately have a lot of experience with good mechanics, and bad mechanics for many years, greedy money hungry scammers. And guess what, I took my car to a family reliable mechanic, and they charged me less than 100 for a TRUE diagnostic which required a lot more time and actual hard work, and they found the real issues that a true diagnostic should produce. The real issues with my car were nothing that I was quoted from Ace. I was looking for a reliable mechanic near my work, but this place for some reason failed to be honest, reliable, and affordable. $100 diagnostic test they said. Complete rip-off. I took my Bmv because it was smoking white through the exhaust & it wouldn't pass smog. I personally did some research and asked them for an estimate for the repairs I though the car needed or an opinion on what it could be. They said they would have to test it out them selfs to give me a concrete answer to the problem with an estimate to fix it and not just an opinion. So I agreed and left the car with them. The following morning they called and said it was the stem seals ( which is what I was asking them about) and said it'd cost approximately 10k to fix, but that's something they couldn't do. I proceeded to just pay for their diagnostic and pick up my car. When I showed up, i paid the fee and received an invoice with an "opinion " on what it could be. When I got home I realized I was stuck in the exact same situation before I took the car to them. So I called them and asked them exactly what diagnostic test they had done to the car & I got nothing more of an answer then they checked for leaks under the car. I asked them if they had removed the valve covers to verify if it was the stem seals & they said that'd cost me more money Because that involved actual work. So I asked them how they knew what the problem was and they said it was just their opinion/guess on what it could be.. I was mad simply because they didn't do more to the car then just a visual test. I was promised a full concrete diagnostic test on everything that was wrong in the car. But for them $100 isn't enough to remove a few screws from the top of the engine. For people who don't know about auto mechanics it's really easy to get ripped off by people like them. We argued for a little longer and all I got after was a "come get a refund then and hung up". I was happy to get my money back, but it sucks they try to get easy money off people. It's hard to find good honest shops. Don't get ripped off people. $100 diagnostic test is just an easy way for them to get easy money when all they do is a 10 min visual test. Cheers! read more
