I very seldom give 5 star reviews for restaurants. This restaurant is the best of its kind! Excellent for burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, BLTs and soup. I must've eaten here 20 times and never had a bad experience. Maybe a wrong order once in awhile, but these were easily resolved. Went to order this AM and noted the persons taking your order were wearing masks but 3 persons preparing food were not. They had the masks on their necks but not wearing them. Good hamburger and fries but maybe with a side order of Covid? Also no "masks required" sign on the side door, very dissapointing. We won't go back. read more

If you're not in the mood for a burger and fries this isn't your place. My daughter got the kids chicken strip basket and it was 3rd rate chicken tenders. You can get better tenders from a bag of Tyson at heb. The cookie that came with it got one bite taken out of it so that tells you how good it was. I got the grilled chicken salad. The chicken tasted like Burger King style fake flame broiled. Not my thing. At all. Extremely bland. The salad itself was good. The ranch dressing was fine. My son got the mexi burger and chili cheese fries. The burger was good. The chili cheese fries had too much cheese. Otherwise their chili is very good and mild. Here Tuesday @ 7:00 pm. Found on Yelp. Ordered a CF Stk sand. ( had grilled chicken for lunch-didn't want again) young girl behind counter asked 2x, I clarified order, receipt was incorrect. It said chicken sand, i asked about the receipt, she said it's all the same. When my sandwich arrived, it was chicken, I took it up and showed her. I generally don't send food back. Never is a good idea. I told her her, never mind, I didn't want to wait to get another wrong order. She made it a point to bring a copy of my receipt and just said "my bad" & walked away. At least a staff of 8-10 here. Not busy. They were mostly laughing and horsing around. Maybe if this place had a mgr on staff, or paying attention, they could get the orders correct. I don't blame the staff, I blame Mgmt for not training their staff to "listen". I am in this area often for business. Won't be returning here. The sandwich wasn't bad, but it's not what I ordered or wanted. She never offered to remake, just "my bad". Food probably ok, attitude & immaturity not. read more

Best burgers, fries, cookies and chicken tenders around!! I've always loved this place. I remember being so excited when my dad brought home Kirby's for dinner on the way home from work when I was younger. When my grandmother would take me out to eat on the weekends, this was usually where I requested we go. I still love coming by when I'm in town and would drive my son through the parking lot when he was younger to see all the beautiful antique cars when they'd have their weekly get togethers. I love finding places like this in a town full of pretty gross chains and drive-throughs. I am officially on a watch what I eat plan (I hate the word diet), so I was a little worried when my family picked Kirby's as our lunch time meeting place. Thus why I was so pleasantly surprised to see at least five salad options on their menu! And I'm not talking pre-made, boxed in plastic and ready to squeeze dressing. These were legit fresh options. I ordered an Asian chicken sesame salad which came in a heaping bowl of fresh chopped romaine, right off the grill boneless chicken breast, mandarin oranges (not out of a can), crunchy noodles, and almond slivers. They also give you plenty of sesame ginger salad dressing on the side so you can dress to your heart's desire. I may have dabbled in my mom's onion rings and I wasn't impressed with those as they were soggy, and the batter was more of the thick, caked-on version. BUT they have cajun fries and curly fries so there are other viable side options. Customer service here is that small-town friendliness that anyone can appreciate. I arrived earlier than my group, and the server told me I could go ahead and grab a drink and a seat and I could just pay when I ordered. Also, it's counter service, but they do bring your order out to you, whether you're inside or seated on their wonderfully shaded patio. read more

What a delicious place. We stopped on our way down to the coast. We had the hickory double meat burger with cajun fries and a cheeseburger with fried okra. Everything was fresh and yummy. The burger had great flavor and the fries and okra were great! The service was very friendly and the prices are fair. Here's my ultimate satisfaction combo from Kirby's, 1/4 pound cheeseburger, chili cheese fries and a chocolate malt. You will leave this place with a smile on your face and a full tummy if you follow those directions, it sits well too. It is a tad on the greasy side but hell, you only live once. Or twice if you're James Bond. So if you ARE 007 get the 1/2 pound cheeseburger. Customer service is excellent and they have a drive thru as well, if you live in Seguin and need a burger this is your place to go. We are native Houstonians and have been fans of Kirby's Korner since it was there in Houston (on Westheimer, methinks). We're Nashvillians now but visit family in Seguin two to four times a year. We were delighted to find you again here. You have always been kind, effecient, hospitable and your fare delicious. You even allowed me to phone in an order for a gift-card to be mailed to my Mom here for a birthday or Mothers' Day a few years ago. Today I phoned in a pick-up order in Seguin. The order-taker was courteous and read back my order to me in every detail. However, our order-fill today was the first real mis-step we can remember. My wife's hamburger was missing mustard. My veggie-burger which was lovely in texture and in flavor also lacked zip because it was missing the orderd mustard, onion and jalapeño. Fortunately we had mustard in the fridge as well as a fresh jalapeño, so we could quickly rectify all except the onion. I honestly debated whether to make this a 3-star or 4-star review. We went with 4 because of your sterling history. The line-cooks may need to be urged to a bit greater attention to detail in execution. Darien was so gracious to help us out-of-towers decide what to eat. He made great suggestions for add ons and homemade sauce. He brought our food and made sure we had everything we needed. We have eaten at Kirby's for nearlt 20 years now but have never had a meal as awful as the one yesterday. We got there at about 4:30pm, only one family at a table when we went in so they were not busy and the drive through line wasn't busy. I ordered the Kirby burger with mustard, it arrived with mayo. It took slightly over 15 minutes for our order to come out. The french fries were cold. All our hamburgers were cold I went to 6 different tables trying to find some ketchup withous success; all the ketchup bottles were empty or so close to empty they were no good. I put all these on a table for the heavy set gentleman behind the counter to see; he was watching me try to find some ketchup but was not willing to help or to send out ketchup bottles that actually has ketchup in them. Most of the tables were filthy. A young lady did come out and make a very poor effort at cleaning the tables, leaving food scraps that were visible on many of the tables. One or two wipes at filthy tables just doesn't do much good when they were really dirty. What has happened to this place? All our food we ordered was cold, and practically unedible. We did not send it back because they were busy by the time our food arrived and we didn't have time to wait another 15 plus minutes for a re-make. Not a single worker there cared whether or not we had ketchup, clean tables, or that we wanted certain things on or left off our hanburgers. They just made burgers and sent them out cold 15 minutes later. Can't help but think their business will go downhill if they keep this up. read more

Definitely the best burgers in Seguin, and probably the region. They're burgers taste something right of the backyard grill. Kirby's in not the typical burgers and fries place, they've got other stuff too. What set's them apart from others is that these guys really hustle. Especially Steven at the drive-thru window. They're food is always served as if it has just came off the grill a second ago. I mean as if you had the grilled your own burger and had started eating it before you walked back inside. I used to love the burgers, but they have changed in making them, their meat is tasteless, no flavor... which is sad. But on the other note, their salads are awesome...fresh and very tasty. Love their BLT, lots of bacon, bread is toasty. Their chili is great, now with this chilly weather. Stopped here while on a road trip from Austin down to Corpus Christi. We were looking for a good, local burger. While the atmosphere was nice, the food itself was nothing special. I have pretty low expectations for hamburgers. I enjoy almost all of them, including fast food or the slightly burnt kind your drunk uncle grills for the family on Fourth of July. The ones at Kirby's did not taste that great. I don't know why. They were just.. boring. Bland. Needed to dump 5 pounds of mustard and mayo on it to make it interesting. I also ordered it without a bun. I still asked for all the condiments, vegetables, etc. that go on a burger, just served bunless. This seemed to be VERY confusing for the staff. I specifically ordered a double cheeseburger with onions, lettuce, mayo, and mustard, with NO BUN. I got two hamburger patties on a plate with cheese. Then I had to wait in line again to get the condiments I had already ordered (and paid for). They again seemed puzzled why I would want the vegetables and condiments without the bun. Who cares? I want it and paid for it. Kind of sad this is the number one restaurant in the city. Overpriced too. read more

Rounding up from a solid 3.5 stars for this one. Was in Seguin for the Pecan Festival and decided to put my trusty Yelp app to the test and look for a place to grab some grub with my parents. Kirby's had some good reviews, and I can understand why (even some paramedics who happened to be in the area stumbled in because of the Yelp app). All in all, this is an slightly upscale fast food restaurant...they have a fairly basic menu (although you can choose regular or curly fries, so we sampled both!) and nothing is ever frozen (which is great!). The portions are a good size and the staff was friendly and helpful given that it was our first time there. The atmosphere is very low key, although I imagine after some Friday night football games, the place has to be jumping. I appreciate that they have wheat buns for the burgers and while my Mom ordered the soup instead of a burger, she was pleased with it. If you are in the area and need a quick but filling bite to eat, Kirby's hits the spot. read more

We decided to try this place out as it had good reviews. My wife and I both ordered burgers. Mine Hamburger only ketchup and mustard. Came out mustard and tomatoes. Wife's. Cheeseburger with mushrooms. No condiments. Came out with mayo. Wife brought it back and told them only cheese and mushrooms nothing else. Came out the second time With mustard. We will not be back. Burger was good but you pay to have things the way you want them. And they need to learn how to listen to there customer. read more

Holy hamburger! This place makes a pretty darn good burger. I've driven by this place a few times on my weekly visit to Seguin and have wanted to try it but was leery since the parking lot only had a few cars (probably because it's always around 445 when I drive by). Anywho, I was craving a good burger and (forgive me, fellow Texans for what I'm about to say) Whataburger wasn't going to cut it. *insert gasp* There were a few patrons inside seated and a few waiting at the registers to order upon our entry. Yet, we were helped promptly (in just enough time to figure out what we wanted) by a friendly and polite woman at the register. Our order was brought to us quickly. The cheese burger I ordered was delicious and perfectly assembled. (I HATE burgers that are slapped together!) Each bite wasn't missing a thing. My mother ordered the Kirby burger and loved it also. My kiddo had a corn dog, no complaints there... Especially given that the young lady who helped us offered my daughter a big helping of her favorite condiment, MUSTARD! I really liked how the hamburger patties were cooked. It had a few of those great flavorful crispy spots on the periphery but where still juicy and tender. My only complaint needs context... I'm used to eating grass feed beef from my parents farm, in that regard, the first bite of patty struck me as off, but after that I practically inhaled that burger (as did my mother). In retrospect, the flavor wasn't off... rather, my taste buds need some recalibrating. We will be back- as a true, red blooded American I appreciate a good burger and this place knows how to make one. Wish they offered a military discount... My wife and I love this place. Came here for first time while taking a day trip out of San Antonio. While exploring Seguin decided to check Yelp for a good burger. The place is not a fancy, pretentious, fake "gourmet burger" rip off. The food is solid, no, better than solid, it is GOOD. The young people behind the counter are happy and actually pay attention when you order. They bring your order to your table with a smile. Kudos to management in staffing appropriately (always appears more than enough staff to handle any amount of customers.) This is great, especially when you see other establishments trying to have the minimum number of staff with customer service usually suffering. The burger is delicious and fresh. The fried pickles, onion rings and fries are great. No soggy middle with these items. While not the only reason, Kirby's Korner has convinced me and my wife to look for property in Seguin. The food, the people (staff & customers) and the town are authentic and pure. Do yourself a favor and go to Kirby's. read more
