    The Original Benedict

Great location right in the heart of Woodinville! The food menu is extensive with lots of classic breakfast and brunch items. They do not have a full Espresso bar, so coffee choices are limited. The location itself is on the smaller side, so not great for groups larger than 6-8. Servers were very friendly. The original eggs Benedict was decent but a bit chewy, although the sauce and potatoes were perfect!

It had been about a year since I'd been to Rusty Pelican Cafe, but I'm always happy to suggest it as a great brunch spot in Woodinville. One thing that was new to me this time was getting bread and butter at the start of the meal. This was such a pleasant surprise! The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the whipped butter was a great touch. For my main, I got the Farmer Skillet with added spinach and over-easy eggs. It was super filling and delicious--the potatoes were cooked perfectly and even had some crispy bits. I also ordered a side of pancakes, but they weren't really my favorite. I'm a big fan of thick, fluffy pancakes, and these were a little tough and hard to get through. My friend went with a lighter option, the Avocado Toast with a side of fruit. She wasn't too thrilled with it because it came on regular whole-wheat sandwich bread. She felt like it was something she could have easily made at home, so it didn't really feel worth the restaurant price. Overall: There are some really great options on the menu with something for everyone! I'd definitely go back for the skillet, though I think certain things on the menu could be improved.

I love that Woodinville has grown up so much over the last few years. There are now many dining options, and the Rusty Pelican Cafe is one of them! They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, and I mean extensive! I've been there for breakfast several times and they seem to have just about anything you can think of on their menu! The inside of the restaurant is absolutely adorable! It's the perfect place to meet up with friends, though heads up, they always seem to be pretty busy, so it's to a place that you can spend extra time. They don't take reservations so I highly recommend getting their before 9 am on a weekend (and I do mean before!) to ensure you get a table. Ok, this may seem really silly, but the last time I ordered coffee with cream, they brought a tiny container of actual (unwhipped) heavy cream with my coffee, and oh my goodness, you put heavy whipping cream in anything and it's pure heaven! Needless to say, I really loved my coffee over everything else I had there!

Came here for a Galentine's brunch with two of my friends around 11 AM and we had to wait outside for around 20 minutes until our buzzer went off to be seated. Like any brunch place, it was cozy and filled with chatter. We were seated at a booth indoors. My friends ordered potato pancakes, an apple cider latte, southwest hash, and a mocktail. I got a salmon benedict. My salmon benedict was fine, not too amazing the first english muffin was perfectly soft and easy to cut through while the second one was hard to eat. I loved that I got the choice of fruit as my side since I usually get full from eating potatoes. For brunch, I would say the quality is alright. It definitely is the place to go when you want to mingle!

I stand by my statement! Rusty Pelican is one of the best brunch and breakfast places around. Their menu caters to almost everyone and when you find your favorite you have a really hard time letting go of it long enough to try anything else out. I usually go for sweet for my breakfast but here I cannot move away from the Country Fried Steak, salty naughtiness with a hefty side of eggs and potatoes. Oh and! They have this really awesome hot sauce that I had to buy it was so so so good, it just complimented their breakfast perfectly. Now, remember when I said I go for sweet, well I might have gotten the walnut cinnamon sour cream cake to go with my coffee, sometimes you simply can't help yourself. The place as always is packed on a weekend but we were seated fairly promptly, these guys know what they are doing and the service is always great.

What a lovely little brunch spot. I finally got to come here after being recommended it for a long time. Came here on a Sunday at around 9:30 and there was no wait for a table for two. It looked like it had a lot of openings in general, but the waitress said it seemed extra slow that day. Unfortunately, that they don't take reservations so first comes first serve and get ready for a wait most of the time. Food: there was a large section of Benedict's so I had to try some. My friend and I got the California Benedict and the salmon Benedict and I was able to substitute the biscuit inside of the English muffin for no extra charge. everything was delicious and fresh tasting. The salmon was great and the biscuit was so yummy even though it a lot of carbs - I got to get some extra jam on the side to finish that off. I also thought it was cute that they had a pastry plate that they were taking around. So you can get a little sweet pastry as soon as you sit down. I had never seen that before! Atmosphere: we came around Halloween so the place was tastefully and modernly decorated with Halloween decor. There was nothing creepy or scary about it, but had very pretty Halloween decorations all around. Service was fast and friendly! I highly recommend and I will definitely be back again! Their menu was huge so I want to try so many other things!

A really nice brunch in Woodinville. There is usually a wait especially during peak times. There are no phone in resos as far as I know. The food is pretty good. Lots of options including kids menu. Ambience is pretty good with indoor seating and an external seating with heating and covered glass structure. The staff is pretty attentive. And they have good selection of desserts.

I had an amazing time at this restaurant. From check-in to check-out. The Parisian ambiance was everything for me. We have a great experience. First, once we sat at the tables, the server brings you a sample platter of different kind of coffee cakes. We picked the regular coffee cake and it was so delicious. The coffee was also good. It was served with thick and creamy milk. It was so delicious. Took the coffee to the next level. I missed out on the breakfast, I mistakenly ordered the burger and fries and it was not as good as the breakfast. The bathroom was cute too

Had a brunch date here with my husband and we loved it! There were tons of people waiting outside when we got on the list. Made us a bit nervous about the wait but we ended up getting seated inside after only 15 minutes. We had a really hard deciding on what to order because sooo many things sounded great. I ended up getting chicken & waffles and my husband got the fiesta skillet. And we split some Nutella crepes of course. We were stunned by just how much food this was when it came out! Very big portions and everything was delicious. The crepes were heavenly! The service was great. Our waitress was so friendly and there were so many people constantly offering to provide drink refills. The only thing I wish Rusty Pelican Cafe had is an espresso machine! We were expecting more coffee options (like lattes). I got a vanilla iced coffee and it was just okay. We'll definitely be back but maybe drink coffee beforehand.

The Rusty Pelican cafe is a must visit brunch location on Woodinville. With lovely outdoor seating, friendly staff, and delicious food to match, you will be sure to have a great time here. They open from 8am to 3pm and offer a wide range of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options in addition to cocktails and mocktails. The restaurant can get crowded, so it's best to arrive early or after 1 pm.

    Natasha B.

Food is consistently good and their portions are huge! They are VERY busy on the weekend, so be prepared to wait a while. Also, servers are nice but service is definitely on the slow side.

Their Bloody Mary is disgusting. Granted im not an expert but it tasted like vodka with a ton of spices. Where's the tomato juice? I couldn't drink it. Their food is average but pricey!

Breakfast! We sat outside in the outdoor patio area. They have Bromic warmers which are the best. Plenty warm. I had the Baja Scramble which was underwhelming. I did notice the ingredients weee less than other scrambles. I should have gone with the Breakfast Burrito. I had some banana bread with chocolate chips which was pretty amazing for banana bread. Coffee is robust and flavorful and they have someone dedicated to keeping you topped off. Heavy cream with every cup served - nice touch! We were able to find parking this time which was a plus. I will definitely give The Rusty Pelican another shot because I can see the delight on other diners faces and laughter!

Never get the burger! It was like cardboard! It tasted dry and as if pressed into shape by some machine and defrosted on site.

It was pretty easy to make a cake order and the writing was free, unlike online where it says $5 for writing. When I got the cake, I was a bit disappointed. The writing had bled onto the cake, there was a crack in the frosting and it appeared that the frosting at the bottom leaned piped to the board instead of the cake. I didn't bother mentioning this at pick up because it didn't seem like the worker was also the cake person. The cake itself was a tad dry but light and airy. For the price I paid, I was disappointed by the outcome. Even if it was due to additional cake orders due to mother's day, I do expect better than this when I buy a cake from a local bakery. Also if you like crispy croissants, I do not recommend the Sichuan pepper cruffin. It was tasty but it didn't have the crisp that you'd expect from a bakery.

However, yesterday on 6/28 when the wait was too long so I decided to choose takeout, it was the worst service I've ever experienced. I walked inside, placed the takeout order, and was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. I went outside to the bench to wait to realize the server didn't take my name for the order. After about 20 minutes had passed, I walked back inside to look for someone. I saw another server walk over when I was lost and waiting and she ended up helping another group who walked in after me, so I was ignored. Then I initiated the conversation and asked about my order and she said "Oh please wait outside and we will come out to give you your order when it's ready." I glanced over and noticed someone bagging takeout orders, so I walked back outside. Another 25 minutes passed and no one has come out to deliver my takeout order. It was about 45 minutes since I placed the order and I was not happy. I walked back inside and asked the server behind the counter. Mind you this is the 3rd server. They asked what I ordered (since my name was not taken down when the order was placed, it made it unorganized) and one of the two takeout bags that was sitting on the counter for a good 20 minutes I noticed it was my order. When I got home, the burger buns were all soggy and the fries were soft and not crispy anymore. This is such an unfortunate situation because I've always shared positive comments about The Cottage, but with the experience I had yesterday, I will be rethinking to come back.
